Characteristics of a New Sparassis latifolia Variety, "Hanyeoul", with Stable Pinheading (자실체 발생이 안정적인 꽃송이버섯 신품종 '한여울')

  • This study was conducted to reduce the phenomenon of biased cultivation and to pursue the diversification of mushroom items. We focused on developing Sparassis latifolia varieties with a short cultivation period, stable pinheading, and a high yield. We have collected and determined the characteristics of genetic resources domestically and abroad since 2016. We bred the unique domestic variety, "Hanyeoul" and the results of this study are as follows. The optimal temperatures for mycelial growth and fruit body growth were 22~25℃ and 19~21℃, respectively. The color of the pileus was pale-yellowish white, which was similar to the color of the control variety, "Neoul". The number of days required for cultivation was 125 for bottle cultivation and 98~102 for bag cultivation, which was shorter than the number of days required for the control variety. Bottle cultivation took 39 days shorter for the new variety than the control variety. The fruiting body of the new variety was similar in size or larger than that of the control variety. The pinheading rate was more than 90% in bottle cultivation and bag cultivation, which was more stable than pinheading in the control variety. The yield was 79.1 g/bottle (1,100 cc) for bottle cultivation, which was 22.6% higher than the yield of the control variety, and 641.1~689.5 g/bag (2.6 kg) for bag cultivation, which 5.8~10.4% higher than yield of the control variety.

Mycelial growth and fruit body cultural characteristics of a new Grifola frondosa variety, 'Bakyeon' (잎새버섯 신품종 '백연' 균사배양 및 자실체 생육 특성)

  • This study was conducted to reduce the phenomenon of the biased cultivation of certain mushroom varieties and to develop a competitive variety of Grifola frondosa. We developed the first Korean white commercial mushroom strain, 'Bakyeon', by crossing monokaryons derived from brown strains. We have collected and tested the characteristics of mushrooms from domestic and international genetic resources since 2018. We bred the unique domestic variety, 'Bakyeon', which has the following characteristics. The optimal temperature for mycelial growth was 25~28℃ and the optimal temperature for fruit body growth was 16~18℃. The new variety was similar to the control variety (Daebak) in terms of the pileus, which formed a pine cone shape, and the number of days of cultivation. The yield was 94.1 g/bottle, which was 23% lower than the 108.5 g/bottle yield of the control variety. When incubating the parent and control varieties, the replacement line was clear. Moreover, polymerase chain reaction analysis of mycelial DNA resulted in different band patterns between the parent and control varieties, confirming the hybrid species.

Yield characteristics of Pleurotus ostreatus according to the use of spent mushroom substrate with high nitrogen content (질소원이 증진된 수확후배지를 이용한 느타리버섯 수량 특성)

  • The aim of this study was to re-use spent mushroom substrate (SMS) with increased total nitrogen (T-N) and amino acid content and reduce the amount of cottonseed meal used as nutrient supplement in Pleurotus ostreatus cultivation. Bacteria used for improvement of the T-N content were GM20-4(Bacillus sp.) and Rhodobacter sphaeroides (RS). GM20-4 was isolated from the SMS of P. ostreatus and RS was obtained from Gwangjusi agricultural technology center. SMS in T1, T2, and T3 was reused as substrate after drying and the T-N content of dried SMS (D-SMS) was increased by 0.34% by treatment with the bacteria. T1 with 8% D-SMS and T2 with 18% D-SMS had higher rates of primordia formation compared with T3 and the control. The biological efficiency of the control and of treatment with 8%, 18%, and 26% D-SMS was 110%, 114%, 112%, and 79%, respectively. Considering the economic cost, yield, and biological efficiency, T2 with 18% D-SMS as the culture substrate for P. ostreatus was shown to be the most effective for cultivation.

Bush Growth and Yield of Highbush Blueberry 'Duke' as Influenced by Different Pruning Times in Unheated Plastic House (블루베리 '듀크' 품종의 무가온 시설재배시 전정시기가 수체생장과 과실수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to compare effects of summer pruning at different times and dormant pruning on shoot growth and yield of northern highbush blueberry. Using 7 (2018) to 9 (2020) years old 'Duke' bushes grown in 180 L containers, summer pruning was treated on June 20 (around 30 days after harvest), July 20, and August 20 consecutively in both 2018 and 2019 removing 30% of the total woods, while dormant pruning (conventional) was on January 20 in both 2019 and 2020. Summer pruning reduced shoot growth the following year, especially when treated in late summer. Total shoot length per bush decreased to 47%, 37%, and 33% on October 15, 2020 in June, July, and August pruning, respectively, compared with that of dormant pruning. Summer pruning at different times in 2018 and 2019 did not affect berry characteristic in the following year. Yield per bush was not significantly changed in 2019, but it decreased by 21 to 38% in 2020 in the summer pruning treatments compared with 2.9 kg of the dormant pruning. It was concluded that consecutive summer pruning in 'Duke' under unheated plastic house could weaken the shoot growth with reducing yield.

Breeding of a new cultivar 'Dadam' for Lentinula edodes sawdust cultivation (표고 톱밥재배용 신품종 '다담' 육성)

  • A new cultivar of oak mushroom 'Dadam' was bred from monokaryotic strains of 'GMLE36062-4' and 'GMLE36288-34'. The optimum temperature for mycelial growth of the new cultivar 'Dadam' on potato dextrose agar was 19-22℃. Total cultivation period of the new cultivar, from innoculation to its first harvest, was 135-139 days, similar to that of the control cultivar 'Hwadam'. The pileus color and stipe thickness of the new cultivar were darker and thinner than those of 'Hwadam'. Total yield of 'Dadam' was 621 g per 3 kg substrate, and is higher than that of 'Hwadam' (371 g). In farmhouse field test, it showed that the period of mycelial growth, browning, and fruiting body formation were the same as those of the control cultivar L808. The number of available fruiting bodies of 'Dadam' was 15, and is lower than that of the control (47), therefore, it was possible to save workforce in thinning. The total yield for 2 flush was 480 g for 'Dadam', similar to the 473 g of the control cultivar.

  • 현재 우리나라에서만 연간 약 26만들이 발생되고 있는 농업용 폐비닐은 재생원료로 재활용되어지면 국내외에서 그 용도가 매우 많으나 멀칭용으로 사용되었던 폐비닐은 그 오염도가 워낙 심하여 쉽게 재활용할 수 없는 처지이다. 즉 공급과 수요는 많으나 재생기술의 한계가 병목으로 작용하고 있는 현실이다. 따라서 간단하고 경제적인 방법으로 재활용할 수 있는 습식 및 건식 재생기술의 개발이 계속되어 요구되어 왔다. 강제 세척, 회전분리, 열풍 건조 및 압착성형을 이용한 새로운 간이습식공정을 통하여 멀칭용 농업용 폐비닐을 순도 95% 이상의 탄화 및 열화가 적은 압착 펠렛을 경제적으로 제조할 수 있었다. 이들의 재생 수지는 인장강도 $168.6{\pm}3.9kgf/cm^2$, 파단신을 315.8%, 인장탄성을 $2,551.8{\pm}50.1kgf/cm^2$, 굴곡강도와 굴곡탄성을 $166.7{\pm}7.4kgf/cm^2,\;5,716.2{\pm}242.2kgf/cm^2$ 그리고 충격강도는 $49.2kgf\;cm/cm$을 각각 보여 연질수지로써 기능하기 위한 충분한 성능을 보유하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 이들의 응용분야 확대를 위하여 fly ash 및 탄산칼슘을 배합하여 이들의 물성변화를 살폈다.

Comparison of the cultural characteristics and productivity of Lentinula edodes cultivated in different types of containers (재배용기별 표고의 배양특성 및 생산성 비교)

  • This study aimed to develop a new method of Lentinula edodes cultivation to reduce labor and waste disposal. To identify the optimum container for L. edodes cultivation, box, bottle, and bag containers were assessed for their effects on the cultural characteristics and mushroom yield. Among the three approaches, box-cultivation with 7 kg of substrate had the shortest browning period (42 days) and resulted in the highest mushroom yield (1,253 g). Contrastingly, bottle-cultivation was unsuitable for cultivation due to low production of the fruiting bodies and poor quality. Further studies on the box-cultivation approach will be required for commercial applications of L. edodes.

  • 차이나프린트2005가 지난 5월11일부터 15일까지 북경국제전람센터와 북경농업관 등 총 92,518$m^2$ 면적의 전시 공간에서 성대히 개최됐다. 외국 업체의 부스 점유율이 40%에 달했던 이번 전시회에는 중국을 비롯해 독일, 미국, 영국, 이탈리아, 일본, 프랑스, 스웨덴, 스위스, 네덜란드, 체코, 이스라엘, 인도, 홍콩, 대만 등 30여개국 800여 업체들이 참여했으며 50여개국 12만명 이상이 방문, 신기술과 정보를 만끽했다. 특히 이번 전시회는 1만5천평 규모에서 21개국 11만여 명이 참여한 가운데 치러진 차이나프린트 2001에 비해 그 규모가 엄청나게 확대됐다.

농어촌연구원 국제융합수리시험센터 현장실습 교육프로그램(HIGH Center ACE+) 체험후기

  • 2023년 1학기(2023년 3월 2일~2023년 6월 20일) 동안 한국농어촌공사 농어촌연구원 국제융합수리시험센터(안산)에서 현장실습을 한것을 바탕으로 후기를 작성하였다. 현재 농어촌연구원은 농어촌 지역개발, 수자원의 효율적 이용과 관리, 농업 신기술 교육, 스마트팜 기술 보급, 친환경 농업, 남북협력 사업 등 농어업인의 환경 개선과 올바른 정책 방향성을 제시하기 위하여 다양한 분야의 연구를 수행하는 공공기관이다. 이번 현장실습을 경험한 국제융합수리시험센터는 1959년에 국내 최초로 수리모형실험을 시작하였으며, 2018년 대형 실험시설이 추가 증축되어 규모나 시설(장비) 측면에서 국내는 물론 세계 최상위 수준의 인프라를 보유하고 있다. 또한 댐, 하천, 해양, 신재생에너지 등과 관련하여 다수의 실험 실적 보유하고 있어 수 공학 분야의 국가경쟁력 강화에 견인하고 있다. 이번 현장실습은 수리실험 이론 교육, 실험장비 교육, 실험실습, 안전교육으로 구성되어 있다. 교육프로그램(HIGH Center ACE+)에 따른 학교에서 배운 전공 이론을 수리실험 분야에 어떻게 적용할 수 있는지 직접 실습하면서 배울 수 있었다. 4개월간 현장실습 교육프로그램에 참여하면서 수리실험 등 수공학 분야의 다양한 경험을 할 수 있었고, 이는 향후 전공과 관련된 직장을 준비하는 데 많은 도움이 될 것으로 생각된다.

Regional Supply Strategies for Renewable Energy Sources based on Contribution Level of GHG Emission Reduction (신재생에너지의 온실가스감축 기여도에 따른 지역별 보급전략)

  • This study examines the contribution level of greenhouse gas(GHG) emission reduction and installation costs of renewable energy facilities. The GHG emission forecasts and industrial structures in the 16 regions of Korea are then analyzed to identify the proper supply of renewable energy sources for each region. The results show that water power is the most effective and efficient renewable energy source to reduce GHG emissions, followed by sunlight, wind power, geothermal heat, and solar heat, respectively. The 16 regions are then categorized into 4 groups based on their GHG emission forecast and industrial structure: high emission and manufacturing group, low emission and manufacturing group, low emission and service group, and high emission and service group. The proper supply of renewable energy sources for each group is then determined based on the contribution level and cost efficiency of GHG emission reduction.
