  • The market for eco-friendly food materials by online distribution is rapidly growing due to major environmental pollution such as air, soil, and water quality, and radical changes in living patterns caused by COVID-19. In addition, because of the aging population and the decrease in agricultural-related population due to social structural changes, aquaponics is emerging as a system that can solve problems such as independence of old economic activities, environmental protection, and securing healthy and safe food. This paper aims to design an intelligent plant growth measurement system among intelligent aquaponics production management modules for optimal growth environment derivation and quantitative production prediction by converging various ICT technologies into existing aquaponics systems. In particular, the focus is on designing systems suitable for production sites that do not have high-performance processing resources, and we propose a module configuration plan for production environments and training data and prediction systems.

  • Currently, rail surface defects are increasing due to the aging of urban railway rails, but in the detailed guidelines for track performance evaluation established by the country, rail surface damage is inspected with the naked eye of an engineer and with simple measuring tools. It is very important to discover defects in the rail surface through periodic track tours and visual inspection. However, evaluating the severity of defects on the rail surface based on the subjective judgment of the inspector has significant limitations in predicting damage inside the rail. In this study, the characteristics of cracks inside the rail due to rail surface damage were studied. In field measurements, rail surface damage was selected, old rail samples were collected in the acceleration and braking sections, and a scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to evaluate the rail surface damage was used to analyze the crack characteristics. As a result of the analysis, the crack mechanism caused by the running train and the crack characteristics of the acceleration section where cracks occur at an angle rising toward the rail surface were experimentally proven.

  • In recent years, the increasing trend of ground subsidence in major cities has caused social problems. Aged sewer pipeline as a main attribute for the subsidence is simply replaced and maintained according to a survey result with related to its buried period. However, other attributes and risk analysis for the subsidence have not been well studied yet. In this point, this study proposed various environmental and structural attributes with related to sewer pipelines and, then, a method of ground subsidence risk evaluation with a certain level of reliability. In order to find effective attributes to ground subsidence near to sewer, the nearest sewerage data were extracted at the location of subsidence in the City of Seoul, and a level of correlation was analyzed between subsidence and individual attribute. The effective weight factors for the proposed attributes was estimated through AHP analysis and its applicability was verified by comparing the actual subsidence data to the risk evaluation in the pilot study district of Seoul.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore change trajectories patterns of Self-Rated Health in middle aged, to identify socioeconomic factors, self-esteem, family relationship factors, and to identify relevant predictors. For this purpose, the 2,418 middle aged, who married couples were extracted from the 2nd to 12st waves of Korea Welfare Panel Survey data. The data analysis included Latent Class Growth Analysis, multiple logistic regression. The change trajectories patterns of self-rated health in middle aged were classified into four types: (1) high state-retained type(46.3%), (2) low state-retained type(19.6%), (3) reduced type(17.5%), (4) increasing type(16.6%). Despite the control of chronic diseases that are closely related to health, when the low state-retained type, which is a crisis group, was set as the reference group for the self-rated health, the economic participation, self-esteem and satisfaction of the family relationship had a more inadequate effect than the high state-retained type. Likewise, when the reduced type, which is a crisis group, was set as the reference group for the self-rated health, the economic participation, self-esteem, satisfaction of the family relationship, and family stress had a more effect than the increasing type. Based on the analysis results, this study suggest political and practical intervention to maintain the proper health, and the details are as follows.

  • Heat waves caused by climate change are rapidly increasing health damage to vulnerable groups, and to prevent this, the national, regional, and local governments are establishing climate crisis adaptation policy. A representative climate crisis adaptation policy to reduce heat wave damage is to expand the number of cooling centers. Because it is highly effective in a short period of time, most metropolitan local governments, except Jeonbuk, include the project as an adaptation policy. However, the criteria for selecting a cooling centers are different depending on the budget and non-budget, so the utilization rate and effectiveness of the cooling centers are all different. Therefore, in this study, we developed logistic regression models that can predict and evaluate areas with a high probability of expanding cooling centers in order to implement adaptation policy in local governments. In Incheon Metropolitan City, which consists of various heat wave-vulnerable environments due to the coexistence of the old city and the new city, a logistic model was developed to predict areas where heat waves can be cooling centered by dividing it into Ganghwa·Ongjin-gun and other regions, taking into account socioeconomic and environmental differences. As a result of the study, the statistical model for the Ganghwa·Ogjin-gun region showed that the higher the ground surface temperature and the more and more the number of elderly people over 65 years old, the higher the possibility of location of cooling centers, and the prediction accuracy was about 80.93%. The developed logistic regression model can predict and evaluate areas with a high potential as cooling centers by considering regional environmental and social characteristics, and is expected to be used for priority selection and management when designating additional cooling centers in the future.

  • This study reviewed pension reform's overall characteristic and(anticipated) positive negative effect in OECD countries's and then analysed middle-old age's retirement transition and determinants of full/gradual retirement through the $3{\sim}7th$ Korea Labor and Income Panel considering that Korea has been aging society quickly and it is necessary to suggest not only solution of early retirement and working age reduction but also pension reform. As a result of this study, about 1/4 of 50 years and older have been continuing to work through various pathways after retirement and 98% among fully retired older who passed by re-employment step of occupational status including retirement are still searching for jobs. This showed that it is also inappropriate to typical retirement concept itself on the lines of labour market participation in Korea and part-time/temporary work or self-employment have been used by means of alternatives of maintaining works for middle-old ages. However, the duration of changed occupational status of gradual retirees is mostly only $1{\sim}2$ years. Therefore it is necessary to support the gradual retirement to minimize a term of income insecurity and promote the work of the old ages who have will and capacity of work. Most of all, partial pension system which is main program of gradual retirement, should make the rules that beneficiaries are those who age less than pensionable age and benefit levels should be actuarial fairness together with pension system and provide substantial help. But, the introduction of partial pension system is not the only way to solve and needs overall social economic approach. Especially guarantee the increase of quantitative qualitative employment for middle-old ages linking labor market policy and supporting gradual retirement not ought to be abused to force the part time works and early retirement route against their own will.

  • The government has steadily revised and developed laws and systems for activating remodeling of apartments in response to the problems of aged apartments. However, despite such efforts, remodeling has yet to be activated. For many reasons, this study noted that there were no tools for reasonable profitability judgements and decision making in the preliminary stages of the remodeling project. Thus, the feasibility evaluation model was developed. Generally, the profitability judgements are made after the conceptual design. However, decisions to drive remodeling projects are made at the preliminary stage. So a feasibility evaluation model is required at the preliminary stage. Accordingly, In this study, a feasibility evaluation model was developed for determining preliminary stage profitability. Construction costs, business expenses, financial expenses, and generally sales revenue were calculated using the initial available information and remodeling variables derived through the existing cases. Through this process, we developed an algorithm that can give an overview of the return on investment. In addition, the preliminary stage feasibility evaluation model developed was applied to three cases to verify the applicability of the model. Although applied in three cases, the difference between the model's forecast and actual case values is less than 5%, which is considered highly applicable. If cases are expanded in the future, it will be a useful tool that can be used in actual work. The feasibility evaluation model developed in this study will support decision making by union members, and if the model is applied in different regions, it will be expected to help local governments to understand the size of possible remodeling projects.

  • This study aims to draw a Housing development scheme of elderly housing, including the urban, suburban and resort type according to location type, which is based on a Demanding Characteristics of preliminary elderly for elderly housing. In addition, The comprehensive implication tells that the preliminary elderly who wants the urban elderly housing type have a more personal characteristics than other types. So it should be considered according to personal characteristics. Next, when we choose the suburban elderly housing type and predict the demand for housing development, it should not only considers factors such as the Unmarried children, Health status, Current housing size and Plans for economic activity in old age but also considers factors such as the Accessibility, Convenience, Investment and Environment characteristics of elderly housing preference. Next, when we choose the resort elderly housing type which based on the fact that a few detailed parameters of current housing characteristics exist, it should be based on the current housing characteristics of preliminary elderly. In addition, it should consider a pre-investigation for elderly housing preference in order to select the housing type. Because a comprehensive preference such as the comfort, convenience, safety, investment, environmental characteristics is considered as major determinants factors.

  • With the barracks modernization project, the Ministry of National Defense has been operating 60 projects of the 75 that have been announced. It was difficult to investigate and analyze the data in the past because data could not be obtained while it was much easier to do that since data can be obtained from private companies. With the aim of increasing the usability of the facilities, the objective of this study is to present a reasonable alternative for repair and maintenance costs by investigating and analyzing the budget and the actual expenses of repair and maintenance of military facilities for the past 3 to 5 years, and then identifying the problems with these. To accomplish this, a theoretical review of previous studies and legal grounds related to repair and maintenance costs was performed, and data on the estimates and the actual expenses data used in BTL projects carried out by private companies were analyzed. First, one of the problems was that there are some items omitted, including consumables, and these items should be included in order to secure their budget. Second, in terms of the items for divided payments, two improvements had been presented: a short-term payment plan for the operation period of 3 to 5 years and a long-term payment plan for an additional and complemented period other than the operation period. The repair and maintenance costs should be further studied at the point of time in a future when the actual data on the costs and operation period of military facilities can be secured. This study is expected to serve as empirical data that will form the basis for a reasonable calculation of the construction cost for military facilities.
