A Study to Solve the Discontinuity of Network RTK Correction for Vehicle (이동형 항체를 위한 Network RTK 보정정보 불연속 해소 방안)

  • To improve moving vehicles' accuracy, one-way Network RTK which guarantees high accuracy and integrity regardless the distance from rovers to Reference Station(RS) is being considered. Correction of one-way Network RTK can be generated only after constructing RS network surrounding the rover, therefore a correction discontinuity is inevitably occurred when the RS set has been changed. The discontinuity is not eliminated by the DD(Double Difference) method, and our simulation shows that it causes 13cm(horizontal) and 48cm(vertical) position error. We suggest three solutions to reduce this discontinuity, which are identification of master RS with neighbor networks, duplication of communication module to receive corrections from other network, and ambiguity levelling between neighbor networks.

Contention/Collision Mitigation Scheme in IEEE 802.15.4 Mesh Sensor Networks (IEEE 802.15.4 메쉬 센서 네트워크에서의 경쟁 및 충돌 완화 기법)

  • This paper address a new scheme that alleviates the packet collision problem caused by contentions among nearby coordinators (CNs) in IEEE 802.15.4 meshed sensor networks. In existing studies, the number of retransmissions is reduced by adjusting the proper backoff period (BP) of sensor nodes, or unnecessary energy consumption is diminished by increasing channel utilization efficiently based on traffic load. In contrast, the proposed scheme avoids contentions among nearby CNs, thereby it enhances the energy efficiency of sensor nodes. To achieve this, the proposed scheme separates the starting points of CNs' contention periods and reduces contentions and collisions among overlapping CNs. According to our simulation results, the proposed scheme shows improved performance in terms of energy consumption, throughput, the number of collisions, and average delay for all conditions.

  • In this paper a novel access scheme for uplink multiuser transmission based on IEEE 802.11ax random access in in-aircraft wireless sensor networks is proposed. The proposed scheme provides an efficient access control mechanism with three divisions of OFDMA backoff counter (OBO): access, deferring, dropping, which controls the number of potential uplink transmission stations. The proposed scheme can be used efficiently in in-aircraft wireless sensor network where a large number of sensors need to be supported. By using the proposed scheme, since in-aircraft sensors attempt channel access using the proposed differentiated OBO parameters, the number of stations exceeds the access capacity can be efficiently controlled. This paper also provides the mathematical analysis of the proposed scheme, regarding the optimal parameters. According to the performance analysis, the proposed scheme is able to efficiently control the access behavior of wireless sensors in the network.

Systematic Transmission Method of Industrial IEEE 802.15.4 for Real-time Mixed Traffic (실시간 혼합 트래픽 전송을 위한 산업용 IEEE 802.15.4 망의 체계적 전송 기법)

  • In this paper, dynamic GTS scheduling method based on IEEE 802.15.4 is proposed for wireless control system considering reliability and real-time property. The proposed methods can guarantee a transmission of real-time periodic and sporadic data within the limited time frame in factory environment. The superframe of IEEE 802.15.4 is used for the dynamic transmission method of real-time mixed traffic (periodic data, sporadic data, and non real-time message). By separating CFP and CAP properly, the periodic, sporadic, and non real-time messages are transmitted effectively and guarantee real-time transmission within a deadline. The simulation results show the improvement of real-time performance of periodic and sporadic data at the same time.

  • Congestion of the city with the rapid industrial development was accelerated to build complex social infrastructure. And numerous structures have been designed and constructed in accordance with these requirements. Recently, to solve complex urban traffic, many researches of large-diameter tunnel under construction downtown are in progress. The large-diameter tunnel has been developed with a versatile double-deck of deep depth tunnel. For the safe tunnel construction, ground reinforcement methods have been developed in the weakened pillar section like as junction of tunnel. This paper focuses on evaluation of the effects of new developed ground reinforcement methods in double-deck junction. The values of reinforcement determined from the existing and developed methods were compared to each other by numerical simulation.

  • The mobile station which is about to do handover in IEEE 802.16e networks scans its neighboring base station channels to decide its next target base station. However, due to the lack of location information of its subscribers, the serving base station cannot provide any reliable candidate channel which is actually attachable by the scanning mobile stations, which makes the mobile station suffer from the long scanning time. Sometimes, long scanning time may cause the degradation of quality of service due to repeatable scan-duration or failure to start the handover procedure in time. To overcome these problems, in this paper, we propose a new protocol so called fast group scanning scheme, in which multiple mobile stations form a group to scan their neighboring base station channels simultaneously. Main contribution of this proposal is to find and decide a reliable target base station within a short scanning time. The fast group scanning scheme can be deployed to the cell network of the serving base station with a dynamic neighboring base station list management.

  • VDF(volume-delay function) is one of the most important factor to improve the reliability of traffic demand estimation because it is for estimation of link travel time based on the traffic volume variation. Because VDF of link except for freeway is applied as the parameter of BPR(bureau of public road) of U.S., it causes to deteriorate the accuracy of traffic demand estimation. The purpose of this paper is to establish new parameter of VDF based on the real-surveyed traffic data in order to improve the problem of the existing VDF. We suggest the reclassification of road hierarchy, the approach of traffic survey, the estimating method of VDF parameter, and the improvements of new VDF application. The new VDF allows us to estimate more realistic traffic situation in parts of demand, travel time and path between origin-destination.

  • An wired ship area network has functionality of remote control and autonomous management of various sensors and instruments embedded or boarded in a ship. For such environment, the DiffServ (Differentiated Services) realizes that the high-speed real-time flow with the higher priority has the guaranteed minimum data rate and is delivered faster. As a result of this DiffServ effect, the intelligent Ship Area Networks can be implemented. In this paper, an packet drop technique is proposed to outperform the previous RIO (RED In and Out) drop mechanism for DiffServ in ship area networks. the proposed packet drop technique does not manage the individual flows and divides them into several flow groups according to a criterion. And it guarantees the fairness between individual flows in the same QoS class through the group-based control. In simulation results of the proposed packet drop technique, the link utilization decreases than RIO. But it guarantees more data rates to DiffServ flows passing multiple bottleneck links.

Analytical model for mean web object transfer latency estimation in the narrowband IoT environment (협대역 사물 인터넷 환경에서 웹 객체의 평균 전송시간을 추정하기 위한 해석적 모델)

  • This paper aims to present the mathematical model to find the mean web object transfer latency in the slow-start phase of TCP congestion control mechanism, which is one of the main control techniques of Internet. Mean latency is an important service quality measure of end-user in the network. The application area of the proposed latency model is the narrowband environment including multi-hop wireless network and Internet of Things(IoT), where packet loss occurs in the slow-start phase only due to small window. The model finds the latency considering initial window size and the packet loss rate. Our model shows that for a given packet loss rate, round trip time and initial window size mainly affect the mean web object transfer latency. The proposed model can be applied to estimate the mean response time that end user requires in the IoT service applications.

  • As more people use Wi-Fi and hotspot, unauthorized APs become one of big security problems in modern society. From the beginning of 2010, researchers study about unauthorized AP continually and contributed a lot of methods of detecting unauthorized AP that use wireless resources. Many researches about unauthorized AP detection use time-delay measurement (e.g., average or standard deviation) which is caused by additional wireless connection. In the most previous researches, however, the unauthorized APs consist of laptop and pulg-in Wi-Fi adaptor, and researchers did not concern about time-delay caused by software network sharing. In this paper, we show that existing unauthorized AP detection scheme that can not efficiently classify the high performance unauthorized AP.
