A/C 콘덴서를 포함한 차량냉각 성능예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on Prediction Method of Vehicle Cooling Performance with A/C Condenser)

  • An analysis method to predict performance of a vehicle cooling system which is composed of radiator, A/C condenser, cooling fan, and etc. is suggested. Air flow through the heat exchanger system and heat rejection rate which dominate the cooling performance are analyzed. Heat transfer with A/C refrigerant phase change is also considered in the analysis. Some predicted results are compared with experimental data for various operating conditions. This evaluation procedure will be useful for the design of optimal vehicle cooling system.

  • The environmental problems by using coolant demanded the new cooling methods. As one of them, the studies on the finding with compressed cold air and oil mist have been done. The cooling method using compressed cold air was effective through going down the temperature of compressed air supplied below $-25^{\circ}$ and increasing the amount of compressed cold air, but had not enough cooling effect due to the low performance of lubrication. Therefore, the cooling methods using oil mist newly were suggested. This method can satisfy both cooling effect and lubrication with only small amount of coolant, also have the benefit in the point of decreasing the environmental pollution. This paper focused on analyzing the grinding characteristics of the cooling method using oil mist. The grinding test according to compressed cold air, oil mist spray pressure and oil mist supply direction were done.

막냉각에 따른 추력실의 냉각 성능 (The Cooling Performance of Thrust Chamber with Film Cooling)

  • Experiments on film cooling were performed with a small scale rocket engine homing liquid oxygen (LOx) and Jet A-1(jet engine fuel). Film coolants(Jet A-1 and water) were injected through the film cooling injector. Film cooled length and the outside wall temperature of the combustor were determined for chamber pressure, and the different geometries(injection angle) with the flow rates of film coolant. The loss of characteristic velocity due to film cooling was determined for the case of film cooling with water and Jet A-1. As the coolant flow increases, the outside wall temperatures decrease but the decrease in the outside wall temperatures reduced over the 8 percent film coolant flow rate. The efficiency of characteristic velocity was decreased with the Increase of the film coolant flow rate.

사출금형 냉각회로 자동최적화를 위한 설계변수 감소 방안 (Reduction of Design Variables for Automated Optimization of Injection Mold Cooling Circuit)

  • The injection mold cooling circuit optimization was studied with a response surface method in the previous research. It took so much time to find an optimum solution for a large product due to an extensive amount of calculation time for the CAE analysis. In order to use the optimization technique in the actual design process, the calculation time should be much reduced. In this study, we tried to reduce the number of design variables with the concept of the close relationship between the depth and the distance of cooling channel. The optimum ratio of the distance to the depth of cooling channels for a 2-dimensional problem was 2.0 so that the optimum ratio was again sought out for 4 large automotive parts. Therefore, the number of design variables for the cooling circuit optimization can be reduced in half, resulting in much faster running time for the optimization as a design tool.

흡습 냉각 패드에서의 열 및 물질전달에 관한 연구 (Theoretical Analysis on the Heat and Mass Transfer in a Sorption Cool Pad)

  • A sorption cool pad brings cooling effect without any pre-cooling, nor any external energy supply. It uses evaporative cooling effect stimulated by the desiccative sorption. In this paper, heat and mass transfer in the sorption cool pad are investigated theoretically. The evaporative cooling process caused by the desiccant is modeled and analyzed considering the sorption characteristics of the desiccant. Two nondimensional parameters are found to dominate the cooling process: one is related to the psychrometric characteristics and the other is to the sorption capacity of the desiccant. The former decides the time to reach the lowest temperature and the later controls the time duration of the cooling effect being sustained.

  • In order to improve the efficiency of a main transformer in a tilting train, the optimal operation of a cooling system is necessary. For the development of optimal control algorithms of a cooling system, mathematical models of a main transformer cooling system were developed. These include dynamic models of a main transformer, an oil pump, an oil cooler, a blower, and a pipe. Control algorithms for a blower and an oil pump were selected in order to identify the effectiveness of dynamic models. A simulation program was developed by using the developed dynamic models and the selected control algorithms. Simulation results showed good predictions of dynamic behaviors of a main transformer cooling system. Therefore, dynamic models, which were developed in this study, may be effectively used to develop control algorithms of a main transformer cooling system.

  • Numerical design optimization of a fan-shaped hole for film-cooling has been carried out to improve film-cooling effectiveness by combining a three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes analysis with the radial basis neural network method, a well known surrogate modeling technique for optimization. The injection angle of hole, lateral expansion angle of hole and ratio of length-to-diameter of the hole are chosen as design variables and spatially averaged film-cooling effectiveness is considered as an objective function which is to be maximized. Twenty training points are obtained by Latin Hypercube sampling for three design variables. Sequential quadratic programming is used to search for the optimal point from the constructed surrogate. The film-cooling effectiveness has been successfully improved by the optimization with increased value of all design variables as compared to the reference geometry.

  • This study presents a numerical procedure to optimize the shape of cylindrical cooling hole to enhance film-cooling effectiveness. The RBNN method is used as an optimization technique with Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes analysis of fluid flow and heat transfer with shear stress transport turbulent model. The hole length-to-diameter ratio and injection angle are chosen as design variables and film-cooling effectiveness is considered as objective function which is to be maximized. Twelve training points are obtained by Latin Hypercube Sampling for two design variables. In the sensitivity analysis, it is found that the objective function is more sensitive to the injection angle of hole than the hole length-to diameter ratio. Optimum shape gives considerable increase in film-cooling effectiveness.

원통형 셀을 이용한 자동차용 배터리팩 냉각해석 (Cooling CFD Analysis of a Car Batter Pack with Circular Cells)

  • 원통형 리튬이온 배터리를 이용한 배터리 팩의 냉각을 위한 해석을 수행하였다. 파우치형에 비해서 원통형 셀을 이용한 배터리 팩은 저렴하면서 신뢰도가 우수한 것으로 알려져 있다. 단지 부피가 파우치 타입에 비해서 크고 디자인적으로 제약이 있다라는 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 18650 배터리를 이용한 배터리팩의 냉각성능을 해석을 통하여 예측하였다. 배터리팩의 온도 안정성은 자동차용 배터리 팩에서 가장 중요한 부분이기 때문이다. 해석을 수행하기 전에 발열 시험을 수행하였으며 열화상 카메라를 이용하여 온도를 측정하고 해석을 통해서 이에 해당하는 발열량 값을 예측하였다. 이를 바탕으로 배터리 팩의 자연대류와 강제대류 해석을 진행하였으며 각각의 냉각 성능을 비교하였다. 배터리 셀을 직접 냉각하는 직접냉각 방식, 배터리 케이스 상하면을 냉각하는 방식, 배터리 케이스 상하면에 공기 통로를 설치하는 세 가지 방식에 대해서 냉각 성능을 비교하였고, 공기채널 방식이 안정성과 냉각성능 면에서 우수함을 해석을 통하여 입증하였다.
