An Estimation of Flood Quantiles at Ungauged Locations by Index Flood Frequency Curves (지표홍수 빈도곡선의 개발에 의한 미 계측지점의 확률 홍수량 추정)

  • The study shows the possible use of the index flood frequency curves for an estimation of flood quantiles at ungauged locations. Flood frequency analysis were made for the annual maximum flood data series at 9 available stations in the Han river basin. From the flood frquency curve at each station the mean annual flood of 2.33-year return period was determined and the ratios of the flood magnitude of various return period to the mean annual flood at each station were averaged throughout the Han river basin, resulting mean flood ratios of different return periods. A correlation analysis was made between the mean annual flood and physiographic parameters of the watersheds i.e, the watershed area and mean river channel slope, resulting an empirical multiple linear regression equation over the whole Han river basin. For unguaged watershed the flood of a specified return period could be estimated by multiplying the mead flood ratio corresponding the return period with the mean annual flood computed by the empirical formula developed in terms of the watershed area and river channel slope. To verify the applicability of the methodology developed in the present study the floods of various return periods determined for the watershed in the river channel improvement plan formulation by the Ministry of Construction and Transportation(MOCT) were compared with those estimated by the present method. The result proved a resonable agreement up to the watershed area of approximately 2,000k $m^2$. It is suggested that the practice of design flood estimation based on the rainfall-runoff analysis might have to be reevaluated because it involves too much uncertainties in the hydrologic data and rainfall-runoff model calibration.

  • 강수량은 지상에 내린 물의 총량으로 홍수 및 갈수량 산정에 있어서 유출특성을 파악하는데 중요한 자료이다. 부정확한 자료 및 수문분석기법에 의한 수자원량의 추정은 수공구조물의 설계 시과소 또는 과다 설계로 문제를 가져올 수 있으며, 수리 수문분석시스템의 효율적인 운영에 많은 지장을 초래하게 될 수 있다. 특히 강수량자료를 기초로 하는 홍수예보 및 갈수예보 모형들은 그 입력치인 강수량자료의 정확도가 큰 비중을 차지하게 된다. 강수량은 면적 강수량을 대표할 수 있는 위치에서 관측되어야 점 강수량을 면적 강수량으로 환산하는데서 발생하는 오차를 최소화 할 수 있다. 최근 강수 특성은 과거에 비해 시공간적으로 매우 불규칙해졌으며, 특히 짧은 지속시간 동안에 많은 양의 강우가 집중되고 있다. 강수량조사망은 이와 같은 강수 특성 변화를 충분히 반영할 수 있어야 한다. 강수 특성을 반영하여 수문조사, 홍수예보, 강우레이더에 활용하기 위해서는 기존 강수량조사망에 대한 재평가가 선행되어야 하며, 재평가된 결과를 토대로 강수량조사망을 설계하여야 한다. 또한 강수량관측소는 그 자체에 여러가지 오차를 내재하는데, 이는 바람의 영향, 증발, 주변 환경 변화 등 다른 여러 가지 오차들이다. 이러한 오차의 발생을 최소화하기 위해서는 관측시설의 유지관리가 매우 중요하다. 강수량자료의 품질 문제를 최소화하여 강수량자료의 품질을 향상시키기 위해서는 기존 강수량관측소 및 운영현황에 대한 명확한 고찰이 선행되어야 하며, 기존의 강수량조사망에 어떠한 문제점 등이 내포되어 있는지에 대한 객관적인 평가를 통하여 수문조사, 홍수예보, 강우레이더 활용에 적합한 강수량조사망 구축이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 영산강홍수통제소 관할 유역의 강수량관측소 67개소를 조사 평가하여 수문조사, 물관리, 강우레이더의 활용에 필요한 강수량조사망을 구축하였다. 이에 따라 신설 강수량관측소는 14개소가 필요한 것으로 나타났으며, 이 경우 평균 시강수량의 추정 불확실도가 0.2 이상인 영역은 19.3 %에서 10.6 %로 줄어들며, 연평균 강수량의 추정 불확실도가 0.2 이상인 영역은 9.0 %에서 4.7 %로 줄어드는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 강수량조사망 구축에 필요한 강수량관측소 설치, 위치선정, 배치 등에 관한 기준 및 유지관리에 필요한 사항을 제시하였다.

The Effect of the Viscosity and Diene Contents of EPDM for Graft Copolymerization of AES (AES 그라프트 공중합에서 EPDM 고무의 디엔 함량 및 점도에 따른 영향)

  • The graft copolymerization of acrylonitrile-EPDM-styrene (AES) was investigated under various reaction conditions such as the concentration of initiator, the content of diene and viscosity of EPDM, and the concentration of solvents. The conversion increased but the molecular weight and the rubber particle size decreased with the concentration of initiator. The graft ratio(GR) increased at low concentrations of the initiator but, after the maximum value, it gradually decreased with the concentration of initiator. Toluene as a single solvent gave the highest conversion and the mixture of ethyl benzene and toluene was better than toluene. The rubber particle size increased with the viscosity of EPDM and the graft ratio and the number of rubber particles with occluded SANs increased with the content of diene.

  • 우리나라는 2000년대 이후, 하천 및 수공구조물 계획시 Huff 분포를 지배적으로 사용해 왔다. 그러나 Huff 방법은 호우선정, 평균방법, 지속기간별 동일분포 가정 등 여러 가지 문제를 가지고 있어 극치 호우사상을 적절히 모의하지 못하는 약점이 있다는 의견이 많았다. 본 연구에서는 하천, 수공구조의 계획시 국내에서 주로 사용해 왔던 강우량 시간분포 방법인 Huff 방법이 과연 하수도시설물 계획시 적정한가를 평가하고 중소규모 배수(排水)시설물 설계시 합리적이라고 알려져 있는 ABM 방법의 적용성을 비교, 평가하여 하수도시설물의 계획시 적정한 확률강우량의 시간분포 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 연구대상 지역은 삼척지역이며 기상청 산하 동해관측소 자료를 이용하여 연구를 수행하였다. 삼척지역의 지속기간별 확률강우량을 Huff 방법을 적용하여 시간분포하면 지속기간 2시간, 3시간 호우의 1시간 최대치의 경우 지속기간 1시간 최대치 보다 크게 산정된다. Huff 1분위의 경우 지속기간 1시간 호우는 55.3mm이나 지속기간 2시간, 3시간 호우의 1시간 최대치는 각각 61.8mm, 60.7mm 로 지속기간 1시간 호우보다 더 크게 평가되었다. 이러한 구간별 최다 강우량의 지속기간별 역전현상은 도달시간 1시간이내의 소유역이라 할지라도 지속기간 2, 3시간호우에서 첨두홍수량이 발생할 수 있는 문제점을 내포하고 있다. 지속기간의 개념을 고려하여 빈도별 홍수시 ABM, Huff 방법의 적용성을 검토하였다. ABM 방법의 경우 적용 유역 면적(0.1~2,000ha) 전체에서 지속기간이 길어지면 첨두홍수량 결과가 수렵하는 것으로 검토되었다. 반면, Huff 방법의 경우 유역면적이 커짐에 따라 임계지속기간이 길어진다. 30년 빈도 홍수의 경우 유역면적 0.1~0.5ha 에서는 30분, 1~50ha 에서는 1시간, 80~300ha 에서는 2시간, 500~2,000ha 에서는 3시간이 임계지속기간인 것으로 분석되었다. 소규모 유역에서는 ABM과 Huff 방법의 홍수량 산정결과의 차이가 크지 않았으며 하수도시설물 계획시 적용성이 높은 강우량 시간분포 방법은 유역의 연속성을 고려할 수 있는 ABM 24시간 호우를 이용하는 것이 타당할 것으로 사료된다.

$\sqrt{s}$- Observational Procedure for Consolidation Analysis (압밀해석을 위한 $\sqrt{s}$- 예측기법)

  • Predictions of consolidation settlement and time must be always erroneous because of heterogeneity of soil media. errors associated with the measurement of soil parameters, drawback of consolidation theories and so on. When filling is done on compressible soils, the observational procedure is a useful means in practice of evaluating the final consolidation settlement and time. However, the existing observational procedures including some disadvantages such as the difficulty of ending the linearity in the settlement curves, the unavoidable personal error, and so on. A new observational procedure($\sqrt{s}$ method) is suggested here for the consolidation analysis in field. As the results of applying the $\sqrt{s}$ method with other methods to two field data. the fecal settlements predicted by the s method as well as by the Asaoka'$\sqrt{s}$ method agreed well with the measured values. However, results obtained from the hyperbolic method(Tan, 1991) were always overestimated. and there happened many cases not to be predicted by the Hoshino's method. In the settlement curve from the $\sqrt{s}$method, the linearity between 60 and 90 eye of the average degree of consolidation is shown. and then the possibility of a personal error seems to be unusual. The final consolidation times(at $U_{95}$) predicted by the $\sqrt{s}$ method agreed well with the measured ones. but the ones by Asaoka and Tan(1996) methods were very much underestimated or overestimated. where $U_{95}$, is the average degree of consolidation of 95%. The big errors of these two methods seem to result from unconsidering the effect of stage construction.

Studies on Dairy Farming Status, Reproductive Efficiencies and Disorders in New Zealand (I) A Survey on Dairy Farming Status and Milk Yield in Palmerston North Area (뉴질랜드 (Palmerston North) 의 낙농 현황과 번식 및 번식장해에 관한 연구(I) Palmerston North 지역의 낙농 현황과 우유 생산량에 관한 조사 연구)

  • Eighty dairy farms in Palmers ton North area in New Zealand were surveyed on 1) general characteristics (10 Questions), 2) milk yield and feed supplementary (7 questions), 3) reproductive efficiencies (12 questions) and 4) reproductive disorders (12 questions) by mail questions from February to July, 1998. Among those 4 items from 38 dairy farms (47.5%), especially in items 1) and 2), overall dairy farming situation, supplementary feeding and milk yields were surveyed and analyzed for Korean dairy farmers (especially in Cheju island) to have better understanding or higher economical gains. The results were as follows. 1. In dairy experience, 21 (45%) among 38 dairy farms surveyed were answered that farming less than 15 years, 15~19 year, 20~25 years and over 26 years experience were 3 (7.9%), 7 (18.4%), 6 (15.8%) and 5 (13.2%) which generally showed longer experience compare to Korean dairy farming situation. In survey of labour input and business goal of dairy farming, self-managing farms, sharemilkers, unpaid family manpowering farms, manager running farms, farms with hired worker, farms with part time helper and other type was 21 (55.3%), 10 (26.3%), 2 (3.5%), 3 (5.3%), 18 (31.6%), 2 (3.5%), and 1 (1.8%), respectively. 2. Analyzing pasture and tillable land, pasture according to feeding scale (200, 300 and 400 heads) were 56, 90 and 165.3 ha, and tillable lands were 51, 78 and 165 ha which showed some differences among feeding scale. In recording methods in 38 farms replied, 36 (95%) dairy handbook and 23 (70%) dual methods taking farms were higher than that of 10 (26.3%) computer and 15(39.5%) well-recorder methods. 3. Dairy waste processing facilities in environmental field were almost perfect except of metropolitan area, and so no problem was developed in its control so far. Hence, 26 farm (68.4%) of pond system was higher rather than those in 8 (21.2%) of using as organic manure after storing feces of dairy cattle, 1(2.6%) bunker system and 3 (7.9%) other type farms. 4. In milking facilities, 33 farms (86.9%) of Harringbone types were higher than those in 3 (7.9%) of Walkthrough types, 1 (2.6%) of Rotary system and other types. Although the construction facilities was not enough, this system show the world-leveled dairy country to attempted to elevate economic gains using the advantage of climatic condition. 5. In milking day and yearly yield per head, average 275 milking days and 87 drying days were longer than that of 228 average milking days in New Zealand. Annual total milk yield per head and milk solid (ms) was 3,990 kg and approximately 319 kg. Dairy milk solid (ms) per head, milk yield, fat percentage was 1.2 kg, 15.5 kg and average 4.83% which was much higher than in other country, and milk protein was average 3.75%. 6. In coclusion, Palmerstone North has been a center of dairy farming in New Zealand for the last 21 years. Their dairy farming history is 6~9 year longer than ours and the average number of milking cows per farm is 355, which is much greater than that (35) of Korea. They do not have dairy barn, but only milking parlors. Cows are taken care of by family 0.5 persons), are on a planned calving schedule in spring (93%) and milked for 240~280 days a year, avoiding winter. Cows are dried according to milk yield and body condition score. This management system is quite different from that of Korean dairy farms. Cows are not fed concentrates, relying entirely on pasture forages and the average milk yield per cow is 3,500 kg, which is about 1/2 milk yield of Korean dairy farms. They were bred to produce high fat milk with an average of 4.5%. Their milk production cost is the lowest in the world and the country's economy relies heavily on milk production. We Korean farmers may try to increase farming size, decreasing labor and management costs.

Effects of Modified ultrafiltration at cardiopulmonary bypass animal experiment. (심폐바이패스 실험동물에서의 변형 초여과법 사용의 효과)

  • 배경: 체외순환 후의 부종현상 및 이에 따른 여러 장치의 기능 저하를 방지하기 위하여, 최근에 체외 순환 이탈 후 환자의 혈액을 짧은 시간에 관류하여 여과해 주는 변형 초여과법의 사용이 늘고 있다. 이에 대한 긍정적인 임상결과들의 보고도 있으나, 다른 한편 체외 순환 후 염증반응을 포함한 폐손상의 기전에 혈구 성분의 영향이 보고되고 있는 바, 변형 초여과법의 효과, 특히 폐 조직에 대한 영향을 밝혀 보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 몸무게 15에서 22 Kg(평균 16.5$\pm$0.5)의 16 쌍의 잡견을 이용한 정소성 심장이식, 실험에서, 통상적인 인공심폐기 작동군과 인공심폐기 작동 후 변형 초여과 관류를 시행한 군으로 무작위 구분하였다. 변형초여과법은 체외순환 정지 후에 대동맥관에서 나온 혈류를 Roller pump를 거쳐 Amicon Diafilter 초여과 관에 150 mL/m 정도의 속도로 10~15 분 정도 관류시켜 정맥관을 통하여 우심방에 직접 주입하였다. 혈액 채취 및 폐생검은 심폐기 시작 전과 정지 직후, 그리고 변형초여과 시행 군은 초여과 완료 직후에, 대조군은 심폐기 정지 10~15분 후에 각각 시행하였다. 혈류역학 측정요소는 동맥압, 우심방압, 좌심방압 등이었으며, 혈액 검사 항목은 동맥혈 가스분석, 혈색소 농도, 헤마토크릿, 백혈구 수, 혈소판 수, 혈중 단백 성분, 알부민 성분 등이었다. 폐 생검 조직으로는 냉동 건조법을 이용한 수분 함유량을 측정하였고, 광학 및 전자현미경으로 관찰을 하였다. 결과: 변형 초여과 군에서 혈중 혈색소 농도는 수술전 10.3$\pm$1.7 mg/dL, 심폐기 정지 직후 6.3$\pm$1.7 mg/dL, 초여과 직후는 8.3$\pm$2.8 mg/dL의 변화를(p=0.0078, 0.0117), 혈중 총 단백질의 농도 변화는 4.3$\pm$0.9, 3.1$\pm$1.5, 4.1$\pm$1.6 mg/dL, 혈중 알부민의 농도는 1.9$\pm$0.5, 1.4$\pm$0.7, 1.8$\pm$0.8 mg/dL로서, 각각 초여과법의 시행 전후에 유의한 증가를 가져왔고(p=0.0280, 0.0277), 폐조직의 수분 함유량의 변화는 수술전 75.1$\pm$8.6%, 심폐기 정지 직후 82.8$\pm$6.0%, 초여과 직후 77.88%를 보인 반면, 대조군에서는 각각 74.7$\pm$4.9, 82.1$\pm$5.9, 82.3$\pm$5.1%의 변화를 보였다. 미세 구조의 관찰에서, 폐포의 내포세피의 융합 기저막층과 미토콘드리아에서의 부종은 변형 초여과 후에 급격히 감소하였으나, 미토콘드리아내 크리스티의 파괴성 변화와 막성 파괴 성향이 초여과 후에 심화되게 관찰되었고, 세포질 내 소체의 팽창과 공포화 현상도 심폐기 가동 후 발생하여 초여과 후에 더 심화되게 관찰되었다. 세포질 내 소체의 팽창과 공포화 현상도 심폐기 가동 후 발생하여 초여과 후에 더 심화되게 관찰되었다. 폐조직 내의 백혈구는 심폐기 작동 후에 그 수에 있어서 증가하였으며 백혈구의 괴변, 탈과립 정도도 심폐기 작동 후 및 초여과 후에 증가한 소견을 보였다. 결론: 변형 초여과법은 인공 심폐기 후의 혈색소 농도 및 혈중 단백질 농도의 복원에 효과가 있었으며 변형 초여과 관류후 폐의 미세 조직내에서 부종의 급격한 감소 등을 관찰할 수 있었다.

Empirical Mode Decomposition using the Second Derivative (이차 미분을 이용한 경험적 모드분해법)

  • There are various types of real world signals. For example, an electrocardiogram(ECG) represents myocardium activities (contraction and relaxation) according to the beating of the heart. ECG can be expressed as the fluctuation of ampere ratings over time. A signal is a composite of various types of signals. An orchestra (which boasts a beautiful melody) consists of a variety of instruments with a unique frequency; subsequently, each sound is combined to form a perfect harmony. Various research on how to to decompose mixed stationary signals have been conducted. In the case of non-stationary signals, there is a limitation to use methodologies for stationary signals. Huang et al. (1998) proposed empirical mode decomposition(EMD) to deal with non-stationarity. EMD provides a data-driven approach to decompose a signal into intrinsic mode functions according to local oscillation through the identification of local extrema. However, due to the repeating process in the construction of envelopes, EMD algorithm is not efficient and not robust to a noise, and its computational complexity tends to increase as the size of a signal grows. In this research, we propose a new method to extract a local oscillation embedded in a signal by utilizing the second derivative.

Development of Parking Space Forecast Model for Large Traffic-inducing Facilities Considering Surrounding Circumstance (주변 환경을 고려한 대규모 교통유발시설 주차면산정 모형개발에 관한 연구 - 판매시설을 중심으로 -)

  • With the rapid industrial development and national economic advance since 1970, the national income of Korea has sharply increased. As a result, issues regarding city expansion, urban concentration, increase in the number of registered motor vehicles, and increase in traffic have caused transportation issues such as traffic congestion and problems with parking. Especially, enforcement ordinances and rules have been established on installation and management of parking lots to solve problems with parking which are raised as social problems such as conflict with neighbors but the flexible calculation of legal parking space has the limitations because of the diversity and complex functionality of purposes of facilities. Accordingly, this study attempted to supplement such demerit of the parking space demand forecast method based on the legally required number of parking spaces and average unit requirement in the parking space supply. This study estimated the required number of parking spaces by analyzing existing literature, collecting field research data, and analyzing the factors that have an impact on the parking demand. Also, it compared the required number of parking spaces based on the average unit requirement as well as the required number of parking spaces by the forecast model based on the cumulative number of motor vehicles parked. The result was that the required number of parking space based on average unit requirement was less than the cumulative number of motor vehicles parked by 9.99%. Meanwhile, the required number of parking spaces by the forecast model was more than the cumulative number of motor vehicles parked by 4.37%. Therefore, it is believed that the parking space forecast model is more efficient than the others in estimating there quired parking space. The parking space forecast model of this study consider different environmental factors to enable practical parking demand forecast considering the local characteristics and thus supply the parking space in an efficient way.

Preparation of Cr2O3/AP Composites and their Thermal Decomposition Characteristics (Cr2O3/AP 복합체 제조 및 그 열분해 특성)

  • $Cr_2O_3/AP$ (ammonium perchlorate) energetic composites were prepared by a method of solvent/anti-solvent. XRD analysis revealed that the crystalline structure of AP in $Cr_2O_3/AP$ composites is the same as that of pure AP. SEM photomicrograph shows that an average size of cuboid $Cr_2O_3/AP$ composites is approximately $2.5{\mu}m$. TGA analysis shows that the addition of submicron $Cr_2O_3$ particles into AP lowers the HTD (high-temperature decomposition) compared to that of neat AP and the activation energy of the $Cr_2O_3/AP$ composites was calculated by the isoconversional Starlink method. Considering changes in the activation energy, the decomposition reaction mechanism of AP was suggested as follows; the decomposition with the formation of nucleation sites renders formation of porous structure in the composites up to conversion of about 0.25 and after further conversion of over 0.3, it seems that decomposition reaction vigorously takes place rather than sublimation of AP.
