Finding the operation conditions to minimize nitrous oxide emission from MLE configuration wastewater treatment plant using computer simulation program (컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용한 MLE 공법 하수처리장에서 최저 아산화질소 발생 운전 조건 파악)

  • Nitrous oxide, one of the six greenhouse gases from Kyoto protocol, is known to be emitted in biological nitrification and denitrification reactions at wastewater treatment plant. In this study, EQPS which is a computer program that can simulate nitrous oxide gas emission amount at wastewater treatment plants is used. The MLE process which treats wastewater from combined sewer is studied. Operational variables which are MLR, water temperature at reactor and primary clarifier by-pass percentage are changed to define the condition which produces the least amount of nitrous oxide gas. 200 % of MLR, 20 ℃ of water temperature at bioreactor and 15 % of primary clarifier by-pass percentage are shown the least nitrous oxide emission factor. Also, it is found that the deep aeration tank produces less amount of nitrous oxide gas since less air is required to meet oxygen demand in this type of aeration tank.

Removal of organic Carbon, Nitrogen and Phosphorus in Wastewater based on tapered Aeration with Bacillus sp. (점감포기에 의한 바실러스 특성을 이용한 폐수의 유기물질 및 질소, 인 처리에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to investigate an aeration tank with RBC process attached Bacillus sp. known as a suitable microorganism for the removing of organic carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus. An aeration tank was based on tapered aeration because Bacillus sp. was well grown in this like environment conditions. The biofilm process with Bacillus sp. as an advanced treatment process could be a best technology for the prominent removal of organic carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus if the mechanism in the process is verified. The operation conditions of DO in the tapered aeration tank were maintained as $1.2{\sim}1.5mg/L$ in aeration tank1, as $0.3{\sim}0.5mg/L$ in aeration tank 2 and less than 0.2 mg/L in aeration tank 3, respectively. Lab-scale experiments were conducted, at room temperature, internal recycle rate was from 200% to 50% and returned sludge rate was from 100% to 50%. As a result, concentration of organic carbons, nitrogen and phosphorus in Period 1 (the time of Bacillus sp. adapted to environment) were decreased gradually. Ultimately, each removal rate in this biological experiment were TCODCr 94%, BOD 87%, T-N 85%, T-P 89% in Period 2. Hence, this process showed an excellent performance of the removal of organic carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus and this is an effective system fur treating of wastewater.

  • 소자 내부의 전위와 전자 및 정공 의사 페르미 준위에 따른 반송자의 정확한 농도를 얻기 위해 Fermi-Dirac통계를 구현하는 방법을 제시하였다. 또한 Fermi-Dirac통계를 고려하여 반도체 방정식을 이산화하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법을 검증하기 위해 전력 바이폴라 접합 트랜지스터를 제작하였으며 모의 실험 결과 컬렉터-에미터 전압 대 컬렉터 전류는 현재 업계에서 상용화된 소자의 실측치와 비교하여 최대 15%이내의 상대오차를 보였다.

  • 국내의 하수도 보급률은 90%에 달하고 있으며, 하수의 고도처리와 처리기술이 향상된 신기술개발 등으로 수질개선 효과가 크게 개선되어 있고, 전국 각지에 활발하게 하수처리장의 건설이 추진 중에 있지만, 다양한 오염원의 증가와 함께 환경기준은 점차적으로 강화되고 있어 기존 하수처리장은 강화되고 있는 환경기준을 만족시키기 어려운 실정으로 새로운 처리법의 도입이 절실히 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 시설이 노후화된 하수종말처리장의 경우에는 경제적인 부담감을 이유로 기존 공법 개선을 통한 수질기준을 만족하기 위하여 노력하고 있으며, 특히, 방류수 수질 중에서 총질소(T-N)와 총인(T-P)의 기준을 평상시와 겨울철(12월 1일부터 3월 31일까지)로 구분하여 적용하여 왔지만, 2012년부터는 이를 동일하게 적용함으로써 겨울철 생물학적 처리 공정에서의 효율저하로 인한 기준치 만족이 어려운 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 인천의 하수처리장을 대상으로 동절기 수온의 저하에 따른 생물학적 공정을 개선시키기 위하여 운전조건을 변경하여 수질개선 증대 방안을 도출하고자 하였으며, 생물학적 공정인 MLE공법으로 동절기 외부 온도의 영향을 받는 조건을 갖는 사업소를 대상으로 실내 실험장치를 구성하여 조건을 변화하면서 개선 효과를 검토하였다. 생물반응조의 공정위치 변화, 미생물농도 그리고 체류시간변화 등의 실험조건으로 하수 처리 효율을 분석하였으며, 운전 중 외부반송 유량, 내부반송 유량 등의 운전인자는 일정하게 유지하였고, 동절기 온도인 $10^{\circ}C$로 유지하여 실험을 진행하였다. 실험 결과 대상 하수처리장의 생물학적 공정의 개선방향은 공정 배열을 변화하였을 때, 현재의 공정 배열 조건인 무산소조 1개, 호기조 4개의 공정보다 호기조 1개, 무산소조 1개, 호기조 3개로 수정하는 경우 현재 공정보다 질소는 7%, 유기물은 9.2% 처리효율이 개선되는 것으로 분석되었다. 미생물 농도 변화를 주어 수질 개선 효과를 검토한 결과 하수처리장 설계농도인 3,500ppm의 경우보다 미생물 농도를 5,970ppm으로 증가시킨 경우 17.4% 처리효율의 개선효과를 보여 질소 제거를 위해 미생물의 농도를 증가시키는 것이 바람직한 것으로 판단하였다. 또한, 체류시간(HRT)을 변화한 경우에는 현재 체류시간(HRT)인 8시간 보다 10시간으로 증가시켰을 경우 유기물은 3.2%, 질소는 2.6%의 처리효율이 개선되는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • In this paper, a communication system that is not using the communication line but power line is presented. It will be very useful for an information-oriented society with tele-metering and home automation. Conventional system has a difficulty in transmitting information due to decreasing communication voltage and increasing carrier current. Proposed idea is a special type switching amplifier system which has a low inner resistance. It can provide reactive power and does not have low impedance between the transceivers. This new system is proposed to overcome the loss of conductor load in a PLC system.

Evaluation of Kinetic Constant and Effect of Effluent Recycling in Wastewater Treatment from Fisheries Processing Plant using EMMC Process (EMMC공정을 이용한 수산물 가공공장 폐수처리에서 동력학적 인자 평가와 유출수반송의 영향)

  • EMMC(Entrapped Mixed Microbial Cell) process which is a kind of active cell immobilizing method was applied to treat fisheries processing wastewater biologically. Kinetic constants were calculated for organic and nitrogen removal and effect of effluent recycling on system performance was evaluated also. Yield coefficient, Y showed relatively low value compared with Y value obtained from conventional activated sludge process. It means that EMMC process can reduce amount of excess sludge significantly compared with conventional activated sludge process. Endogenous respiration coefficient $k_e$ of EMMC process also showed relatively low value compared with that of conventional activated sludge process. Yield coefficient Y, endogenous respiration coefficient $k_e$ and half saturation constant $k_s$ obtained from EMMC process in terms of nitrification were compared with reported value from literature based on suspended growth nitrification system. The value of Y obtained from this study has no difference compared with values obtained from literature review and $k_e$ of this study was low but $k_s$ of this study was high compared than values obtained from suspended growth nitrification system. To evaluate the effect of internal recycling on system performance, system was operated with internal recycling ratio of 1.5Q, 2.0Q, 2.5Q and 3.0Q. increase of internal recycling ratio effect more greatly on improvement of denitrification efficiency than that of nitrification efficiency. Accordingly, optimization of internal recycling ratio has to be based on improvement of anoxic reactor performance.

Removal of Nitrogen and Phosphorus from Municipal Wastewater by a Pilot-scale BNR Process (파이롯트 규모의 BNR 공법에 의한 도시하수의 질소 및 인 제거)

  • This study was conducted to investigated the removal efficiency of BOD and nutrient for the treatment of low strength municipal wastewater by a biological nutrient removal system. In this experiment, the effect of operating parameter including HRT of 7.0hr, BOD/TN ratios of 2.62~4.08, internal recycle of 50~300%, and return sludge of 50~100%, were studied during winter season. Efficiencies of organic matter and T-P removal and denitrification were not significantly affected by the change of temperature in winter season. However, the specific nitrification rate and nitrification efficiency decreased at low temperature. Besides, denitrification efficiencies increased with increasing BOD/TN ratios. It was also found that the internal recycle and return sludge ratio below 50% is required for the effective denitrification of low strength municipal wastewater. With operating mode 4 of the optimum, the effluent BOD, T-N and T-P concentration were obtained to average 5.8, 14.6, and 0.84 mg/L, respectively. The temperature-activity coefficient (${\theta}$) of specific nitrification rate, specific denitrification rate and specific phosphorus uptake rate were obtained 1.044, 1.017, 1.028, respectively.

A study on Applicable to Advanced treatment of using Side Stream Plug-Flow Reactor (효과적 공간활용을 위한 Side Stream Plug-Flow Reactor를 이용한 하수 고도처리 공정 적용에 관한 연구)

  • This study configured the conventional $A^2O$ (Anaerobic-Anoxic-Aerobic bioreactor) system which the fixed media immersed into the anoxic reactor(Named PFR system : Plug Flow Reactor) for evaluating the removal efficiency of nitrogen in the wastewater. The experimental equipment was a cylinder which was consist of 4 pleated PE Pipes(Length 330M, Diameter 100mm) including 2 rope shape media. As a result, the average effluent T-N removal efficiency of the conventional $A^2O$ system was 17.9, 40.3, 50.6, 44.6% in each mode, but the average effluent T-N removal efficiency of the PFR system could achieve 38.8, 57.1, 71.8, 65.4% in each mode. It indicated that the PFR system caused to the increasing of C/N ratio that effected to the increasing of the denitrification efficiency. Not only the effective T-N removal efficiency but also the controllable install space will give advantages for retrofitting of the wastewater treatment plant with the conventional treatment system to the PFR system.

Biological Removal Characteristics by the Internal Recycle Rate in the Attached Growth Process (부착증식공정에서 내부 반송율 변화에 따른 생물학적 제거 특성)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the contaminants removal efficiency and the optimal operating parameters by the internal recycle rate (IRR) in the combining A2/O process with fixed film. The average removal efficiency of BOD and COD was 92.5%~94.6%, 73.9%~87.0% in RUN 1 and 91.9%~94.7%, 77.7%~89.0% in RUN 2, respectively. Organic removal efficiency, at two different hydraulic retention time of 10 and 14hr, was similar. At 50% of the internal recycle rate, organic removal efficiency was somewhat higher than the other. Total nitrogen (T-N) and total phosphorus (T-P) were removed, highly, at 50% of internal recycle rate. It could be suggested by this study that the optimum internal recycle rate is 50% and hydraulic retention time is 14hr.

  • RFID 시스템에서 태그는 리더와 전자기 에너지 교환에 의해 동작을 하며 배터리를 사용하는 active 형 태그와 배터리를 사용하지 않는 passive형 태그로 크게 구분된다. 또한 태그는 자체 회로구조에 의해 harmonic 태그, anharmonic 태그, sequenced amplifier 태그로 나뉜다. Passive 태그에서는 리더의 반송파 backscatter 방식을 이용하여 동작을 하며 active 태그는 자체 발진회로에 의해 태그정보를 송신한다. 태그의 변조방식으로 PSK, FSK, ASK 등을 사용하며 변조방법에 따라 회로 구성과 프로토콜 설계가 달라진다. 또한 리더의 전파 신호를 정류하기 위하여 렉테나(rectenna)가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 태그의 분류, 동작, 구조 등에 관한 일반적인 내용을 기술하였다. 특히 UHF 대역 이상의 태그 기술 최근 추세가 안테나 부분을 제외하고 CMOS one chip화 하는 수준으로서 900 MHz UHF 대역, 2.45 GHz RFID 칩이 상용화 되어 있다. 칩의 내부구조와 태그의 변조방식에 의거한 동작에 관한 개괄적인 내용을 서술하였다.
