Experimental study on performance characteristics of heat pump chiller at heating conditions (히트펌프 칠러의 난방 운전시 성능특성에 관한 실험 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 난방운전시 저온 및 착상 조건에서 히트펌프 칠러의 성능을 조사하고자 하였다. 실험은 항온항습 기능을 가진 공기엔탈피 방식의 칼로리미터와 항온수조를 사용하여 수행되었으며, 실외온도조건을 설정한 후에 히트펌프 칠러의 성능을 실험으로 측정하였다. 외기조건이 $-7^{\circ}C$에서 $-15^{\circ}C$까지 변화함에 따라 시스템의 성능과 COP는 표준온도 조건의 실험값 보다 약 48~87%까지 감소하였다. 착상 실험에서는 시간 변화에 따라 출구수온이 표준온도를 기준으로 74% 감소하였다. 본 연구로부터 히트펌프 칠러의 설계 기초자료 획득 및 신뢰성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • In this study, the control characteristics and effects of heating control methods on the heating performance and energy consumption of a hot-water heating control system of a residential apartment were researched by simulation and experiment. The purpose of this study is to evaluate operational strategies for improving an indoor thermal environment and reducing f energy consumption in the radiant floor heating system of a residential apartment.

  • 스웨덴의 원자로 marker Asea-Atom사는 지역난방(DH)용 원자로로 SECURE를 개발했다. 이 원자로는 (1) 저온도, 저압력, (2) 본질적인 안전성(기술적 안전시스템에 의하지 않은)에 의해 로의 정지${\cdot}$냉각이 어떠한 상황아래에서도 보증된다, (3) 사고시에 운전원에 의한 조작을 필요로 하지 않는다, (4) 출력밀도가 낮기 때문에 핵분열생성물질의 방출 우려가 적다는 등의 특징을 가지며 그 안전성으로 인해 도시부근에 위치할 수 있으며 또한 경제적으로도 석유나 석탄을 연소시키는 boiler보다 훨씬 유리하다.

An investigation on the heating energy consumption and operating condition in apartment houses (공동주택의 에너지소비량 및 난방운전 실태에 관한 조사연구)

  • The energy consumption in apartment houses is investigated according to the heating systems, that is, district, central, and individual heating systems. And, operating conditions of intermittent heating are surveryed and analysed in the central heating systems. As a result, each annual energy consumption of district, central and individual heating system is 143.56 Mcal/m2year, 216.78 Mcal/m2year and 150.68 Mcal/m2year, Also, the heating is generlly started at 04:00 and 17:00 of each day, and the heating system is operated for 2~3 hours per each time.

  • A district energy system plays very important role to fulfill energy demand in regional areas. This paper diagnoses the necessity of the development of an economical operation system for the efficient operation of district energy plants located in Seoul. The effect anticipated from the use of the optimal operation system is also analyzed. Production and consumption of energy are estimated for the district energy plants at Suseo, Bundang, Ilwon and Jungang located near in Seoul, Korea. The problem is formulated as a mixed integer linear programming(MILP) problem where the objective is to minimize the overall cost of the district energy system. From the results of numerical simulations we can see that the energy efficiency is improved due to the application of the optimal operation conditions provided by the proposed model.

  • This study is aiming to suggest the effective thermal management system design technologies for the high voltage and capacity battery system of the electricity driven vehicles and introduce the theoretical designing methods. In order to investigate the effective operation of the battery system for the electricity driven vehicles, the heat generation model for Li-ion battery system using the chemical reaction while charging and discharging was suggested and the thermal loads of the heat sources (air or liquid) for cooling and heating were calculated using energy balance. Especially, the design methods for the cooling and heating of the battery system for maintaining the optimum operation temperature were investigated under heating, cooling and generated heat (during charging and discharging) conditions. The battery thermal management system for the effective battery operation of the electricity driven vehicles was suggested reasonably depending on the variation of the season and operation conditions. In addition, at the same conditions under summer season, the cooling method using the liquid and active cooling technique showed a relatively high capacity, while cooling method using the passive cooling technique showed a relatively low capacity.

Improvement of Heat Pump Heating Performance by Selective Heat Storage Using Air Heat of Inside and Outside Greenhouse (온실 내외부 공기열의 선택적 축열에 의한 히트펌프 난방성능 개선)

  • In this study, the design and performance test of the air to water heat pump capable of producing hot water for greenhouse heating by using the surplus solar heat inside the greenhouse and the air heat outside greenhouse as the selective heat source were conducted. The heat storage operations using the surplus solar heat and the outside air heat were designed to be switched according to the setting temperature of the greenhouse in consideration of the optimum temperature range of the crop. In the developed system, it was possible to automatically control the switching of heat storage operation, heating and ventilation by setting 12 reference temperatures on the control panel. In the selective heat storage operation with the surplus solar heat and outside air heat, the temperature of thermal storage tank was controlled variably from $35^{\circ}C$ to $52^{\circ}C$ according to the heat storage rate and heating load. The heat storage operation times using the surplus solar heat and outside air heat were 23.1% and 30.7% of the experimental time respectively and the heat pump pause time was 46.2%. COP(coefficient of performance) of the heat pump of the heat storage operation using the surplus solar heat and outside air heat were 3.83 and 2.77 respectively and was 3.24 for whole selective heat storage operation. For the comparative experiment, the heat storage operation using the outside air heat only was performed under the condition that the temperature of the thermal storage tank was controlled constantly from 50 to $52^{\circ}C$, and COP was analyzed to be 2.33. As a result, it was confirmed that the COP of the heat storage operation using the surplus solar heat and outside air heat as selective heat source and the variable temperature control of the thermal storage tank was 39% higher than that of the general heat storage operation using the outside air heat only and the constant temperature control of the thermal storage tank.

A Study on Improved Operation of Apartment Heating System in a Machine Room (공동주택 기계실 난방설비 운전 개선 연구)

  • This study proposes an idea for energy saving in apartment machine rooms. A conventional district heating system is equipped with constant-flow pumps and bypass valves to regulate pump differential pressure. Each family unit is equipped with a constant-flow on/off valve. This leads to excessive hot water circulation and a high return temperature. To reduce energy loss, this study assumes that each family unit is renovated with a heating valve which regulates the return temperature at $35^{\circ}C$. The hot water supply pump is also replaced with a pump with an inverter to vary flow rate. Expected energy savings is then estimated from field test data. According to the results, pump electricity consumption was reduced by 6,100 kWh for a family unit building over about half a year. The supply temperature can also be lowered by $5^{\circ}C$, which can contribute to a production of electricity of 10.3 kWh/ton of hot water.

Prevention of Insulation Damage Layer and Shell Corrosion in Thermal Storage Tanks for District Heating (지역난방용 축열조의 단열재 손상과 외각부식 개선방안)

  • The height and capacity of the thermal storage tank can be decided by the altitude and heat load of the heat supply area. Evaporation in heat pipe can be prevented by pressurizing it with the hydraulic head of the thermal storage tank. In addition, it absorbs the expanded volume from the temperature changes and supplies water to the pipelines in case of the shortage of water. One of the most important roles of the thermal storage tank is a stable heat supply facility. It can control the heat demand by accumulating the surplus heat and supplying in changing heat demand time. The purpose of this thesis is to be helpful for the operation and maintenance of the thermal storage tanks. The study has been carried out for 18 thermal storage tanks, which have been used polyurethane foam as insulation, among 27 tanks in district heating plants. The characteristics of the insulation materials, the reasons for the damages of the insulation and how impact the insulation damages to the corrosion of the thermal storage tank have been studied.
