Mental Counting Strategies for Early Arithmetic Learning

  • 수세기는 초등 수학교육의 기초로서 보통 유치원 과정 이전부터 시작된다. 그러나, 서수와 기수의 구별된 사용의 중요성은 미국의 "학교 수학의 교과 과정과 평가 기준" (NCTM 1989)에서 뿐만 아니라 학교 교육의 현장에서도 많이 간과되고 있는 실정이다. 일반적으로 사용되는 수직선 (Number line)과 다르게 구조적으로 개발된 Hasse's structured number line을 사용하여 학생들에게 수세기의 의미와 기술을 가르친다면 구체적 경험을 통해 수학적 사고 능력을 키우고 개발하는데 도움이 된다. 만약 Hasse 의 9가지 수준에 따라 다양한 학습 활동을 개발하여 수업 계획을 세워서 학습을 진행한다면 수업은 역동적이며 매우 흥미로워 질 것이다. 학생들은 말로 나타내기(Verbalization)와 상상(Imagination)의 충분한 경험을 바탕으로 정신적 표현(Mental representation)을 개발하여 수세기 기초를 확립하고 나아가 연산을 쉽게 수행할 수 있을 것이다. 여기에 소개된 교구들과 학습 활동들은 초등 수학 교육이 암기 위주의 문답식이 아니며 얼마나 역동적이고 흥미로울 수 있나를 보여준다.

  • 본 연구는 자계방향 기준 벡터제어 이론에 기초한 속도제어 시스템의 구성을 나타내었다. 제안한 속도제어 시스템은 전동기 모델이 자속기준 ${\gamma}-{\delta}$축 좌표변환 하여 선형제어 되고 관측기 이론에 기초하여 연산한 2차자속과 전류센스에서 검출한 전류값으로 속도제어 하는 알고리즘을 나타내었다. 그리고 제안한 방법이 자계방향 벡터제어 시스템의 실현에 유용성이 있음을 규명하였다.

  • This paper discuss the sequential digital logic systems and arithmetic operation algorithms which is the important material in computer architecture using analysis and synthesis which is based on extension logic for binary logic over galois fields. In sequential digital logic systems, we construct the moore model without feedback sequential logic systems after we obtain the next state function and output function using building block T-gate. Also, we obtain each algorithms of the addition, subtraction, multiplication, division based on the finite fields mathematical properties. Especially, in case of P=2 over GF($P^m$), the proposed algorithm have a advantage which will be able to apply traditional binary logic directly.The proposed method can construct more efficiency digital logic systems because it can be extended traditional binary logic to extension logic.

Development of cloud-based multiplication table practice application using data visualization (데이터 시각화를 적용한 클라우드 기반 곱셈구구 연습 애플리케이션 개발)

  • The COVID-19 outbreak, which took longer than expected, caused considerable damage to students' basic academic ability in mathematics. In this paper, a multiplication table practice application that can help students improve their basic multiplication arithmetic skills has been developed based on a cloud-service. The performance of the application was improved by integrating the Flutter framework, Google Cloud, and Google Sheets. As a result of applying this application to 72 6th graders in elementary schools located in K Metropolitan City, for one week. students' spending time required for solving multiplication table problems was reduced by more than 28% compared to the initial period, while students' learning data was able to be accurately collected without errors. It is hoped that the development case conducted through the Flutter framework in this study can lead to the development of other educational learning applications.

A Connectivity Encoding of 3D Meshes for Mobile Systems (모바일 시스템을 위한 연결 데이터 압축 알고리즘)

  • Mobile systems have relatively limited resources such as low memory, slow CPU, or low power comparing to desktop systems. In this paper, we present a new 3D mesh connectivity coding algorithm especially optimized for mobile systems(i.e., mobile phones). By using adaptive octree data structure for vertex positions, a new distance-based connectivity coding is proposed. Our algorithm uses fixed point arithmetic and minimizes dynamic memory allocation, appropriate for mobile systems. We also demonstrate test data to show the utility of our mobile 3D mesh codec.

  • In order to design an extended relational database management system supporting multilevel security, the standard relational data model is extended and new relational integrity constrains are proposed for the model. The extended relational model and proposed multilevel integrity constraniants maintain database in consistent state and produce a basis that can eliminat eambiguity of entity and relation ship representations bypoly instantiation. The proposed up dates emantics canincreases the efficiency of up date operations by supporting multilevel entry and up dates. The semantics also provides a basis for the implementation of decomposition of extended relations.

  • There are differences in manner to be shown according to a basic point of view about knowledge in division which is traditional algorithm. The 1st and 2nd stage show didactic transpositions less systemic. The 3rd stage, which were influenced by the new math, uses logical mechanism. The 4th stage shows conceptual knowledge of the division independently. The 5th and 6th stage use concrete models which shows a course. The 7th stage constitutes contents systematically and shows many chances which focus on the formation of knowledge. The suggestions derived from such transition should be considered in the practice class and an elementary mathematics textbooks for meaningful learning.

  • An adaptive Odd/Even Multi-shell Median Filter(Adaptive O/E MMF) is proposed by using a adaptive threshold strategy and odd/even multishells. This algorithm was verified in MATLAB and implemented on FPGA. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated by adding impulse noise and line missing into well-known images. A proposed adaptive threshold strategy may reduce the computation time and redundant arrangement. odd and even multishells can recover line missing of vertical and diagonal directions respectively Therefore, the algorithm proposed in this work can be effectively used in real time image processing applications.

  • Particularly based on the signal bias removal(SBR) algorithm for compensating the corrupted speech, this paper presents a new algorithm which is independent of environments, minimizes the amount of computation, and is readily applicable to the conventional recognition system. To this end, a multiple-bias algorithm and a partial codebook search algorithm have been added to the conventional SBR algorithm. The simulation results show that combining the two algorithms proposed in this paper provides a reduction of computation time to 1/8 times as well as an improvement of the recognition rate from 77.58% of the conventional system to 81.32%.
