Preparation and Properties of Ionomer-Clay Hybrid Gas Barrier Membranes (Gas Barrier성 Ionomer-Clay 하이브리드 막의 제조 및 물성)

  • Ionomer-Clay hybrid membranes were prepared by melt intercalation method with twin extruder. MMT was intercalated or exfoliated by the ionomer and it was confirmed by X-ray diffraction method. D-spacing of the characteristic peak from MMT plate in WAXD was moved and diminished. Gas permeability, mechanical properties and thermal properties of the ionomer-clay hybrid membranes were investigated. Gas permeability through the ionomer-clay hybrid membranes decreased due to increased tortuosity made by intercalation of clay in Ionomer.

  • The objective of this research was to develop a coaxial rotor MAV which is suitable for a indoor reconnaissance mission. Preliminary design parameters were determined, based on the dimensions of other reference MAVs. The designed rotor performance was estimated by Blade Element Momentum Theory, and the analyses were compared against the measurements. Stability and vibration issues of the prototype were circumvented by making parts of vehicle with NC machine, as well as equipped with teetering rotor and stabilizer. The designed coaxial rotor MAV showed successfully flight equipped with video camera. However, it was founded that further research activities should be focused on efficient rotor design to obtain better performance.

  • The strengthened regulations for atmospheric emissions from ships have caused a necessity of new, alternative power system in ships for the low pollutant emissions and the high energy efficiency. Recently, new kinds of propulsion power system such as fuel cell system, which use hydrogen as an energy source, have been sincerely considered. The purpose of this work is to predict the performance of methanol fueled SOFC system and to analyze the influence of operating temperature, current density, S/C, and $H_2$ utilization ratio.

전자싸이클로트론공명플라즈마 화학기상증착법에 의한 PZT 박막의 증착 및 전기적 특성 연구

  • 전자싸이클로트론공명플라즈마 화학기상증착법(ECR-PECVD)에 의한 Pt 및 $RuO_2$ 기판에서의 PZT 박막의 증착특성 및 전기적 특성을 조사하였다. $RuO_2$ 기판에서는 Pt 기판에 비하여 Pb-관련 이차상이 형성되기 쉬웠고, PZT 페로브스카이트 핵생성이 어려웠다. 하지만, $RuO_2$ 기판에서도 금속유기 원료기체의 정확한 유량조절(특히, $Pb(DPM)_2$ 유량)과 Ti-oxide 씨앗층의 도입을 통하여 $450^{\circ}C$의 비교적 낮은 증착온도에서 단일한페로브스카이트 박막 제조가 가능하였으며, $RuO_2$ 기판에서도 미세구조가 향상된 PZT 박막의 경우 $10^{-6}A/cm^2@100kV/cm$의 우수한 누설전류 특성을 나타내었다. 4 가지 전극배열의 PZT 커패시터들 중에서 $RuO_2//RuO_2$ 커패시터는 누설전류밀도가 $10^{-4}A/cm^2@100kV/cm$ 정도로 높았지만, 피로현상은 나타나지 않았다. 일방향 전계 (unipolar) 피로특성에서 나타난 polarization-shift 현상과 양방향 전계 (bipolar) 피로특성의 온도의존성 결과는 PZT 박막내 charged defect의 이동이 어려움을 나타내었다. Bipolar 신호에 의한 피로현상은 인가전계에 의한 분극반전 과정에서 Pt 계면에서 charged defect의 형성과 관련이 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 또한, 상하부 전극물질 이 다른 경우에는 상하부 계면의 charged defect 밀도에 차이가 생겨 내부전계가 형성되는 것으로 판단되었다.

  • SEBS-clay hybrid membranes were prepared by melt intercalation method with internal mixer. In the hybrid, the amount of clay content was fixed to 5 phr. MMT was intercalated or exfoliated by the ionomer and it was confirmed by X-ray diffraction method. D-spacing of the characteristic peak from MMT plate in SAXD was moved and diminished. Gas permeability, mechanical properties and thermal properties of the SEBS-clay hybrid membranes were investigated. Gas permeability through the SEBS-clay hybrid membranes decreased due to increased tortuosity made by intercalation of clay in SEBS.

$B_N$-결함 질화붕소 나노튜브($B_N$-BNNT)를 활용한 $CO_2$ 흡착/전환 반응에 대한 이론 계산 연구

  • 넓은 표면적을 갖는 탄소나노튜브(CNT)는 기체 분자의 흡착 성능이 기존의 다른 흡착제에 비해 우수한 것으로 알려져 있으나, CNT의 물리/화학적 성질은 튜브의 직경과 기하 구조에 의해 큰 차이를 나타내며 정제가 매우 까다롭다는 단점을 가지고 있다. CNT와 외형적으로 매우 흡사한 질화붕소 나노튜브(BNNT)의 경우, 구조와 직경에 상관없이 열적, 화학적 안정성이 우수하여 $CO_2$를 비롯한 다른 공해 물질들의 제거제나 흡착제로서 응용 가능성이 매우 높다. 본 연구진은, BN-결함을 도입한 BNNT 벽면에서의 $CO_2$ 흡착 반응과 $CO_2$를 에너지 물질인 HCOOH와 $H_2CO_3$로 전환하는 반응에 대한 양자화학 이론 계산 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과, $CO_2$에 대한 $B_N$-BNNT 흡착 성능이 튜브의 직경에 상관없이 매우 우수하였고, $B_N$-BNNT 벽면상에 흡착된 $CO_2$가 물 분자와 반응할 경우 HCOOH와 $H_2CO_3$로의 전환반응이 효과적으로 진행되었다. 이러한 이론 계산 연구 결과는 BN-BNNT가 $CO_2$ 흡착제 및 에너지 전환 촉매로의 응용 가능성을 훌륭히 제시하고 있다.

Simulation & Validation of Lubricating Oil Fire in Nuclear Power Plant Pump Room (원전 펌프실 윤활유화재 분석 및 확인에 관한 연구)

  • 화재방호에 성능기반 개념을 도입함에 따라 화재모델링의 활용도는 점점 높아지고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 FDS를 이용하여 원자력발전소 펌프실의 윤활유 화재 시 케이블의 손상여부를 평가하고, 확인분석을 통해 화재모델링의 적합성을 파악하는 데 있다. 화재는 펌프 주변의 누출된 윤활유에서 발생하며 화원의 면적은 $2.75m^2$이고 단위면적당 열방출율은 $1,794kW/m^2$로 가정하였다. 계산결과, 고온기체층의 온도는 $400^{\circ}C$를 상회하고 있으나 케이블 트레이의 온도는 $50^{\circ}C$ 아래로 예측되고 있어 본 화재시나리오에서 케이블의 건전성은 유지되고 있으며 밀폐된 격실에서의 대형화재는 환기지배형 화재가 된다는 것을 보여주고 있다. 또한 확인분석 결과, 화재 시나리오의 주요 변수인 열방출율, 격실크기 그리고 강제 환기 변수가 확인계산 범위 내에 있어 본 계산결과는 NUREG-1824의 확인요건을 만족하고 있다. 따라서 펌프실 윤활유 화재에 대한 모델링의 적합성을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 수학교육용 소프트웨어에서 확률적 현상을 경험한 이후 과학 그래프 해석에 있어 확률론적 관점을 도입하여 해석하는 학습자의 관점의 변화를 제시한다. 이 연구에서 11명의 고등학교 1학년 학생은 수학교육용 소프트웨어인 지오지브라(GeoGebra)를 활용하여 학습자가 평면 상에서 수직선이나 반원 위에 점을 찍는 활동을 통하여 기하학적 확률을 경험하였으며 이와 같은 경험을 토대로 물의 상평형 그래프를 해석하였다. 물의 상평형 그래프에 나타나는 얼음(고체), 물(액체), 수증기(기체)의 상태 변화에 대하여 각 상태가 나타나는 온도-압력의 영역 간의 경계에 대하여 학습자는 기하학적 확률을 적용하여 해석하려고 하였으나 경계선 위의 온도-압력의 물의 미시적 구조를 표현하는 과정에서 4명의 학생만 확률론적 관점으로 해석하고 그렇지 못한 학생들은 상태의 공존을 물질적 관점이나 과정적 관점으로 이해하였다.

Insurance system for legal settlement of drone accidents (드론사고의 법적 구제에 관한 보험제도)

  • Recently, as the use of drones increases, the risk of drone accidents and third-party property damage is also increasing. In Korea, due to the recent increase in drone use, accidents have been frequently reported in the media. The number of reports from citizens, and military and police calls regarding illegal or inappropriate drone use has also been increasing. Drone operators may be responsible for paying damages to third parties due to drone accidents, and are liable for paying settlements due to illegal video recording. Therefore, it is necessary to study the idea of providing drone insurance, which can mitigate the liability and risk caused by drone accidents. In the US, comprehensive housing insurance covers damages caused by recreational drones around the property. In the UK, when a drone accident occurs, the drone owner or operator bears strict liability. Also, in the UK, drone insurance joining obligation depends on the weight of the drones and their intended use. In Germany, in the event of personal or material damage, drone owner bears strict liability as long as their drone is registered as an aircraft. Germany also requires by law that all drone owners carry liability insurance. In Korea, insurance is required only for "ultra-light aircraft use businesses, airplane rental companies and leisure sports businesses," where the aircraft is "paid for according to the demand of others." Therefore, it can be difficult to file claims for third party damages caused by unmanned aerial vehicles in personal use. Foreign insurance companies are selling drone insurance that covers a variety of damages that can occur during drone accidents. Some insurance companies in Korea also have developed and sell drone insurance. However, the premiums are very high. In addition, drone insurance that addresses specific problems related to drone accidents is also lacking. In order for drone insurance to be viable, it is first necessary to reduce the insurance premiums or rates. In order to trim the excess cost of drone insurance premiums, drone flight data should be accessible to the insurance company, possibly provided by the drone pilot project. Finally, in order to facilitate claims by third parties, it is necessary to study how to establish specific policy language that addresses drone weight, location, and flight frequency.

Preparation and Characterization of PVA/PSSA-MA Electrolyte Membranes Containing Silica Compounds and Surface Fluorination for Fuel Cell Applications (연료전지 응용을 위한 실리카 성분을 함유하며 표면불소화된 PVA/PSSA-MA 막의 제조 및 특성 연구)

  • In this manuscript, in order to reduce methanol permeability and, at the same time, to increase proton conductivity THS-PSA containing silica compound, responsible for methanol permeability reduction, and sulfonic acid, responsible for proton conductivity enhancement, was applied onto PVA/PSSA-MA membranes. And in order to improve durability, the resulting membranes, PVA/PSSAMA/THS-PSA, were exposed to 500ppm F2 gas at varying reaction times. The surface-fluorinated membranes were characterized through the measurement of contact angles, thermo-gravimetric analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to observe the physico-chemical changes. For the evaluation of the electro-chemical changes in the resulting membranes, its water contents, ion exchange capacity, proton conductivity, and methanol permeability were measured and then compared with the commercial membrane, Nafion 115. Finally, the membran electrode assembly(MEA) was prepared and the cell voltage against the current density was measured. As fluorination time increased, the contents of F2 increased up to maximum 4.3% and to depth of 50 nm. At 60 min of fluorination, the proton conductivity was 0.036 S/cm, larger than Nafion 115 at 0.024 S/cm, and the methanol permeability was $9.26E-08cm^2/s$, less than Nafion 115 at $1.17E-06cm^2/s$.
