Analysis of Efficiency and Loss due to Number of Poles in Magnetic Gears (마그네틱 기어의 극수 변화에 따른 효율 및 손실 분석)

  • Mechanical gears driven by direct contact have problems including noise, vibration and heat. In order to, solve these problems, magnetic gears having a non-contact magnetic coupling have been proposed. Through various studies on magnetic gears, we found that losses are changed when the number of magnetic poles varies in the same gear ratio. For this reason, research team expect the iron loss of the magnetic gear and the Eddy current loss of the permanent magnet will have a certain tendency depending on the number of poles. This paper identified the magnetic gear's loss tendency according to the number of poles, and laid the basis for efficiency improvement design.

  • 구동 및 동력 전달용으로 많이 쓰이는 기어장치는 최근 고속도비에서 사용이 증가함에 따라 다단기어장치의 설계에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 하지만 다단 기어장치의 설계는 장치의 파손확률을 고려하지 않고 정적인 하중과 균일한 강도를 유지하는 차원에서 접촉해석과 강도설계 등이 주류를 이루었으며 대부분 설계자의 경험과 감각에 의해 시행착오적이고 반복적인 방식으로 이루어지고 있다. 또한 임의의 시간에서 다단 기어장치가 설계자의 의도대로 작동할 확률인 신뢰성에 대한 연구가 미흡하였다.(중략)

  • 비접촉 선형 영구자석 기어는 직선 추력을 요구하는 반송 장치에서 모터의 회전운동을 직선 운동으로 변환하는 기계적인 변환 장치와 달리 마찰에 의한 손실과 소음 및 진동이 적고 윤활유와 유지 보수가 불필요하다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 하지만 물리적 접촉 방식을 사용하는 기계적인 변환장치에 비해 비접촉 방식을 사용하는 영구자석 기어는 상대적으로 낮은 전달추력능력을 가진다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 비접촉 선형 영구자석 기어의 양측 가동자 사이에서 추력을 전달하는 Pole Piece의 특성을 파악하고, Pole Piece형상의 제안 및 최적 설계를 통해 낮은 전달추력능력을 향상시키고자 한다.

  • 기어는 회전 기계 사이의 동력 전달을 위한 장치이며 현재 산업 전반의 통상적인 기어는 기계적 기어가 주류로서 형성되어 있다. 하지만 기계적 기어는 맞물린 톱니바퀴의 물리적 접촉에 의해 접촉 경계면의 마모 및 파손, 소음과 진동의 문제가 있으며 유지보수 비용 또한 크다. 따라서 최근 물리적 접촉이 없어 기계적 기어의 많은 문제를 해결할 수 있는 마그네틱 기어 (Magnetic Gear)에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 마그네틱 기어는 영구자석에서 생성된 자계를 이용하여 비접촉 동력전달이 가능하며, 마찰손실 제거, 유지보수의 용이성, 매우 적은 소음 및 진동 등의 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 마그네틱 기어의 토크전달 방법과 형상변화에 따른 전달토크 특성을 2-D 유한요소해석법을 이용하여 해석하고 분석하고자 한다.

Analysis of Pole Ratio Effect of Magnetic Reducer (마그네틱 감속기의 극수비 영향 분석)

  • In a concentric magnetic gear, which replaces the teeth of a mechanical gear with a permanent magnet, the polar ratio of the magnet that determines the reduction ratio affects the behavior of the magnetic gear dramatically. This study analyzed the density of transmission torque, the efficiency of torque considering the solid loss, and the torque quality, including the cogging characteristics using finite element analysis. When the pole number on the driving side was changed from two to five, it was confirmed that there was an optimal pole ratio, in which the transmission torque was maximized. Because eddy current generation density is proportional to the magnetic field, the transmission efficiency also shows a similar tendency to the transmission torque density, and the efficiency is more than 95% at a low gear ratio. The cogging characteristics due to the interaction of the permanent magnets with the limited number of poles are inversely proportional to the least common multiple between the number of magnets on the drive side and the number of modulator teeth. A test model was built for the transmission torque evaluation.

  • Using a one-way clutch has been reported to be very effective in reducing the vibration of gear pairs. However, study on the effect of using a one-way clutch has been based on numerical analysis only, and no experimental study has yet been executed. Hence, in this study, experiments to verify the effectiveness of using a one-way clutch to reduce the torsional vibration have been executed. Dynamic responses over a wide range of speeds have been compared for various numbers and positions of the clutch. The results of the experiments verified that a one-way clutch is effective in reducing the vibration by decreasing the tooth mesh vibration as well as the vibration transmitted from the input shaft.

  • 자동차의 시동을 걸기 위해서는 맨 처음 엔진을 강제로 가동시키는 기계장치가 있어야 하며, 이를 시동모터라 한다. 시동모터는 모터부와 그 부속장치 그리고 발생된 힘을 엔진으로 전달하는 동력전달 기구로 구성되어 있다. 동력전달기구는 플라이 휠이라는 부품을 크랭크 축 끝단에 장착한 후 그 원주상에 링 기어를 만들고, 시동모터의 축에 피니언이라는 작은 기어를 맞물리게 하여 시동 키를 돌리면 이 기어가 회전되는 원리를 이용하고 있다. 피니언 기어는 작고 반대로 플라이 휠에 장착되어 있는 링 기어는 크기 때문에 일정한 기어비가 형성되어 큰 부하의 엔진회전이 가능하다.(중략)

  • Gears are critical elements in automobiles, and their use as power transmitting machine elements in engineering applications is quite extensive. In the areas of contact between gear teeth, the condition of a gear is likely to deteriorate due to contact fatigue, wear, material defects, lubrication failure, etc. Thus, it is necessary to monitor its condition to ensure smooth power transmission. Gear teeth deterioration causes failures such as abrasive wear, scuffing, pitting, and spalling. These failures lead to a higher level of vibration signals in the gear system. This paper presents the results of an experiment on the surface fatigue wear of a spur gear system. The correlation between the estimated specific film thickness, statistical parameter of the vibration signals, and Stribeck curve was considered in this study.

  • The non-contact permanent magnet gear has advantages of high efficiency and improved reliability. It has other advantages of no mechanical friction loss, very little noise and vibration, and no need for lubricant. With these advantages, the non-contact permanent magnet gear that solves the physical contact problem of the mechanical gear has drawn attention. Due to this unique non-contact characteristic, the non-contact permanent magnet gear which is capable of non-contact torque transmission has replaced mechanical gear. The mechanical gears which is in many fields of the modern industry, is used mostly for power transmitting mechanical devices. However, it also has the problem of a low torque density, which requires improvement. In this paper, a novel pole piece shape is proposed in order to improve the problem of low torque density of the non-contact permanent magnet gear. The experiment data required for predicting the relationships among them are obtained using finiteelement Operating method based on two-dimensional (2-D) numerical analysis. Therefore, this paper derived an optimal model for thenon-contact permanent magnet gear with the novel pole piece using the Box-Behnken design, and the validity of the optimal design of the proposed pole piece shape through variance analysis and regression analysis demonstrated. In this paper, we performed the thransfer torque analysis in order to improve the torque density and power density, we have performed on optimal design of proposed pole piece shape using box-behnken.

Optimization Analysis of Driving Gear of Large Capacity Non-contact Mixer for MLCC Electronic Materials (MLCC 전자재료용 대용량 비접촉식 교반기 구동기어의 형상최적화 구조해석)

  • MLCC is key parts of many electronic products and mixer is used to make MLCC. Currently, non-contact mixer is increasingly used due to its many merits. In case of large capacity non-contact mixer, function of driving gear is important. In this study, therefore, in order to reduce manufacturing cost through optimal design of driving gear of large capacity non-contact mixer, study on shape optimization of driving gear without excessive design modification was performed. As the results, because safety factors of modification model were decreased about 3.0 ~ 3.5 times compared with those of model with robust design, the possibility for saving manufacturing cost was confirmed.
