Primitive Instancing for the Definition of Non-conventional Hull (비정규 선형정의를 위한 원형요소 인스턴싱의 이용)

  • Various geometric modeling techniques for a hull have been developed with wide application of computer to the ship design. Up to now, they are used for the representation of the sculptured surface with the piecewise polynominal curves or surfaces for a conventional hull. In this paper, a convenient and accurate modeling technique that is instancing and blending of the geometry primitives is introduced for a non-conventional hull such as SWATH, trimaran, caisson etc. Geometric characteristics, hydrostatic particulars and stability of the definded hull are calculated.

  • 본 논문에서는 비선형 동적 해석 프로그램인 AUTODYN을 이용해 기둥의 단면 형상의 변화에 따른 폭발 하중의 영향을 분석하였다. 먼저 폭발하중 산정의 타당성을 확인하기 위해 AUTODYN을 이용한 예제해석을 수행하였으며, 폭발하중에 의한 영향을 가장 효율적으로 확인할 수 있는 인자인 압력을 비교하였다. 이를 토대로 기둥 형상에 따른 폭발 저항 성능을 평가하기 위해 같은 단면적과 높이를 갖는 정사각형과 원형 기둥을 모델링 한 후 TNT의 양에 따른 폭발전후의 부피를 비교하였다. 해석결과를 비교해보면 정사각형기둥이 원형기둥보다 폭발에 대한 손상정도는 더 크지만 기둥이 절단되지 않도록 하는 저항성능이 더 우수한 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 비록 철근의 영향을 고려하지 않았지만, 이와 같은 결과를 통해 TNT의 양에 따른 기본적인 폭발거동과 대테러 설계를 위한 기둥 단면 선택시 기초적인 자료로 활용가능 할 것으로 사료된다.

Plant Regeneration from Hypocotyl-Derived Protoplasts of Brassica oleracea var. capitata (양배추 배축 원형질체로부터 식물체 재분화)

  • Protoplasts were isolated from hypocotyl tissues of 5-day-old Brassica oleracea var capitata Green Challenger seedlings. Several media were used for protoplast culture and shoot regeneration. The shoot-regeneration rapacity of protoplast derived callus depended on the initial culture medium. Protoplasts were cultured in liquid medium (B5 medium supplemented with CaCl2, 2H2O 600mg/L, g1ucose 20g/L, D-mannito1 70g/L, NAA lmg/L, BA lmg/L, 2.4-D 0.25 mg/L)at 27$^{\circ}C$ under the dark After 5 to 10 days, cultlues were diluted with medium with a reduced osmotic stabilizer and then transferred to illuminated conditions. The culture medium was changed with the fresh medium at 7- to 10-day-intervals until the formation of microcallus. Hypocotyl protoplast-derived callus proliferated when transferred to MS medium supplemented with NAA lmg/L, BA 1mg/L and GA$_3$ 0.02mg/L. Upon transfer to MS basal medium without growth regulators, roots were produced. In an attempt to increase the regeneration frequency, 10g/L polyvinylpyrrolidone was added to the regeneration medium, but the shoot regeneration was mot improved. The regenerated whole plants were acclimated in a sterized soilless mixture(vermiculite 2;perlite 2;peat moss1) in a culture room.

Design of Circular Ring Antenna with Half-Circular Strip for WLAN/WiMAX Applications (WLAN/WiMAX 시스템에 적용 가능한 반원 스트립 구조를 갖는 원형 링 안테나의 설계)

  • In this paper, a dual-band circular ring monopole antenna with semi-circular strip for WLAN(Wireless Local Area Networks)/WiMAX(World interoperability for Microwave Access) applications. The proposed antenna is based on a planar monopole design, and composed of half circular strip for dual-band operation which cover WLAN and WiMAX frequency bands. To obtain the optimized parameters, we used the simulator, Ansoft's High Frequency Structure Simulator(HFSS) and found the parameters that greatly effect antenna characteristics. Using the obtained parameters, the antenna is fabricated. The numerical and experiment results demonstrated that the proposed antenna satisfied the -10 dB impedance bandwidth requirement while simultaneously covering the WLAN and WiMAX bands. And characteristics of gain and radiation patterns are obtained for WLAN/WiMAX frequency bands.

Strain-Softening Behavior of Circular Tunnel Excavated in Mohr-Coulomb Rock Mass (Mohr-Coulomb 암반에 굴착된 원형 터널의 변형률연화 거동해석)

  • Calculating the distribution of stresses and displacements around a circular tunnel excavated in infinite isotropic rock mass subjected to hydrostatic stress condition is one of the basic problems in rock engineering. While closed-form solutions for the distribution are known if rock masses are considered as elastic, perfectly plastic, or brittle-plastic media, a few numerically approximated solutions based on various simplifying assumptions have been reported for strain-softening rock mass. In this study, a simple numerical method is introduced for the analysis of strain-softening behavior of the circular tunnel in Mohr-Coulomb rock mass. The method can also applied to the analysis of the tunnel in brittle-plastic or perfectly plastic media. For the brittle-plastic case where closed-formsolution exists, the performance of the present method is verified by showing an excellent agreement between two solutions. In order to demonstrate the strain-softening behaviors predicted by the proposed method. a parameter study for a softening index is given and the construction of ground reaction curves is carried out. The importance of defining the characteristics of dilation in plastic analysis is discussed through analyzing the displacements near the surface of tunnel.

  • This paper presents plans to develop cultural archetype into a cultural industry. Though, various types of cultural products are being developed, they're not very popular to consumers and has very limited market. Reason for that is, most of these products are simple replicas of cultural assets or they are focused solely on restoring the traditions without considering trend. This study was focused on patterns found on the relics from mausoleum of king Mooryung of Baek-je. Main focus was the meaning of important patterns as generalized representation of traditional and emotional value. In addition, the study was done with the idea that developing the design of cultural products should be presented in modern style while carrying the traditional value and the story telling elements. The order of developing the design should be, first, forming process based on its original form and the elements, and developing a design motive based on the story the pattern is carrying. Then develop sample products with the motive.

  • As interest in latest cultural heritance is increased, an importance about conservation of dilapidated cultural building asset is risen. Most of cultural building asset used wood by main material and conservation repair about corrosion and damage by deterioration of these cultural building asset considers cultural value of member and the basis principle is the archetype maintenance. Accordingly, conservation processing method that use synthetic is embossed. This paper experimented with reinforcement sectional area ratio, direction of section, length, strength of synthetic resins as variable and manufactures total 14 specimens as experimental study about compression reinforcement performance of circular section wood that strengthen by synthetic resins. The result of this paper has shown that adequate strengthen is more efficient than new member and the most important authenticity in strengthen and repair of cultural heritance can be ensured.

Design of Singly Fed Microstrip Antennas Having Circular Polarization (단일 급전 원형 편파 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, a microstrip aperture-patch antenna and a microstrip ring antenna, which have single microstrip line feeding systems for the circular polarization, are designed, and experimental results are presented at X-band. The microstrip aperture-patch antenna is characterized by its wide operating frequency range, and the microstrip ring antenna is suitable for a basic radiator in the large array antenna due to its small size. Several design parameters for these antennas are considered and analyzed to improve antenna characteristics such as VSWR bandwidth and axial ratio. Initially, the sizes of the aperture and ring radiator are determined on a basis of the cavity model, then shapes of the patch within the aperture and the inner stub of the ring are optimized using Ensemble software. Measurement results show that the aperture-patch antenna has 25% of VSWR bandwidth and 1.2dB of axial ratio at the boresight, and the ring antenna has 6.7% of VSWR bandwidth and 1.6dB of axial ratio at the boresight.

Design and Fabrication of Dual-Ring Monopole Antenna for Wideband Characteristics (광대역 특성을 갖는 이중 원형 링 모노폴 안테나의 설계와 제작)

  • In this paper, a double circular ring monopole antenna for wideband applications is designed and fabricated. The proposed antenna is based on a planar monopole design, and composed of double circular ring of radiating patches and ground plane to obtain the wideband characteristics. To get the optimized parameters, we used the simulator, Ansoft's High Frequency Structure Simulator(HFSS) and found the parameters that effect antenna characteristics. Using the obtained parameters, the proposed antenna is fabricated. The fabricated antenna is measured at the operating frequencies, and the return loss coefficient, gain, and radiation patterns are determined. The results of measurement, -10dB impedance bandwidth, measured return loss is 4,530 MHz(2,510-7,040 MHz) and antenna peak and average gains for the frequencies are obtained 0.71~3.38 dBi, -3.85~0.3 dBi, respectively. In case of radiation patterns, the proposed antenna displays nearly omnidirectional radiation characteristics in the E-plane, and monopole-like radiation pattern characteristics in the H-plane.

The numerical and experiment results demonstrated that the proposed antenna satisfied the -10 dB impedance bandwidth requirement while simultaneously covering the WLAN and WiMAX bands. And characteristics of gain and radiation patterns are determined for WLAN/WiMAX application.
