The study aims to investigate the production and management of contemporary Korean artists' personal records and propose support measures necessary for documenting their work activities, such as educational programs. First, through a literature review, the importance of documenting contemporary artists' work activities and the support program documentation are analyzed. Second, through interviews with six contemporary artists using various formats and media, records production by artistic process and management by documentation type are investigated. Third, based on the investigation analysis, the cooperation and support plan to be cooperated by art museums, archivists, and other record professionals for the artwork documentation is recommended. Areas of support are divided into educational program provision, museum artistic activity documentation, and documentation tools development and support.

While relevant studies emphasize the significance of user-oriented indexing associated with fulfilling both topical and non-topical needs of individual users, a great number of operational retrieval systems supports only those searches related to subject attributes of the users' needs. Retrieval systems for presidential image collections are not an exception for such a restriction. Upon this reality. this study seeks diversification of access points for presidential images based on descriptors directly presented by potential user groups. Improvements of subject-based descriptors are suggested based on those descriptors identified.

This study aims to propose task areas which have to be discussed for reforming of the Public Records and Archives Act in Korea. For drawing the task areas, it analysed the pending issues mainly presented in the policy forums co-hosted by Korean Society of Archival Studies and Korean Association of Records Managers and Archivists, and examined researches providing tasks of revising of the law or rebuilding public records policies related in digital records management. The 4 task areas were identified, which were the exhaustive documentation of the public agencies' activities, the reexamination of the appraisal systems for public records and archives, the transition into the 2nd generation-digital records management, and the redefinition of roles and responsibilities of the records/archival institutions. Then it placed the issues into the 4 areas, and proposed some suggestions for further discussions in each tasks. Reminding that the task areas proposed in this study are not comprehensive, further suggestions and arguments will be expected for reforming the Public Records and Archives Act.

뇌파, 즉 뇌전도는 뇌에서 일어나는 전위의 변화를 기록하는 것이다. 이는 두개골의 두피에 전극을 부착하거나 뇌 표면 또는 뇌속에 전극을 삽입하여 기록할 수 있다. 종래에는 뇌파는 활동전위의 동기화와 통합의 결과로서, 어떤 피질 영역에서의 뉴론의 활동을 직접 반영하는 것이라고 생각되어 왔다. 그러나 EEG 활동에서 상당한 부분은 뉴론의 막전위에 기인하며, 특히 느린 시냅스 후 전위의 가중에 기인한다고 할 수 있다. 그렇지만 활동전위가 EEG에 전혀 공헌하지 않는 것은 아니다. EEG는 그 파형에 따라 동기화 또는 비동기화로 나눌 수 있는데, 그 근간을 이루는 뇌 구조물은 상이하다. 그리고 피질의 활동에서 유래한 EEG는 피질하 구조물에 의해서도 영향을 받는다. 이러한 EEG를 활용한 연구는 인간 정신 과정을 이해하는데 이바지하는 바가 클 것이다.

Art archives are archives that are produced and collected in activities carried out by artists, critics, and related organizations, and a large portion consists of individual records. Because of these characteristics, art archives have a wide range of media and formats, each with their own characteristics and creators, which can lead to copyright issues in individual cases. This study conducted interviews with six art archive professionals from four institutions, secured and analyzed the copyright status and issues that occurred in the art archives field by business area, and suggested applicable measures for each copyright case.

This paper presents encrypted secret code recording system which can insert an unique manufacture ID code after complete disc process. First, we detect a memory block synchronizing signal which is SYNC. by using FPGA, then, design a recording pattern to write Multi Pulse. Finally, a method that any data is recorded in any place in any data area of optical disc by using a FPGA was proposed. Newly proposed method in this paper that any user records user data in protected data areas on digital video optical discs, can be very useful for effective software copy protection, and can be applicable to encrypted record on high density DVD in near future.

In this study, the intellectual structure of Records Management and Archival Science in Korea was analyzed based on the syntactic and semantic structure analysis of article titles. The data used in this study were 344 articles from three major representative journals in the field of Records Management and Archival Science, published from 1999 to 2008. The results of the syntactic and semantic structure analysis of article titles show that the three role concepts of keywords are 'research domain', 'research object', and 'research focus'. Keywords in article titles were clustered into the core subject areas after they were assigned three concepts. Based on the results of cluster analysis, the intellectual structure of Records Management and Archival Science in Korea was proposed.

This article examines the cases of archive development by research institutions for overseas Korean studies from the perspective of documenting the locality and explores development plans. The study investigates the impact of the solidarity between overseas Korean studies institutions and Korea-related communities in the region on the expansion of archives and the practice of locality documentation, using the case of the Korean War Archive Collection at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa Library. For this, it reexamines the implications of locality and locality documentation. In addition, it discusses the methods of Korean studies locality documentation emerging abroad, such as the locality where the two geographical areas of Korea and Hawaii are fused. Since 2023, the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa Library has been forming a network with the Korean War Veterans Association Hawaii Chapter 1 (KWVA) to collect and archive materials related to the Korean War. This is a case where the relationship between the archivists and the donor community has been developed to practice documenting the locality regarding Korean studies abroad. It proposes locality documentation as a way to expand archives in overseas Korean studies institutions that inevitably rely on the collection of records and discusses the importance of solidarity with Korea-related local communities. Finally, it shares the role of the record management subject and the implications found through the case.

Archival science is prior to explore meaning and role of record management in given environments rather than developing record management methodology. Electronic record environments don't merely mean to exchange record management medium from paper to digital. The most important point exploring in electronic record environments is not management skills or methods, but meaning of records and role of record management in contemporary society. All these days, however, the theories and methodologies has been developed focusing on written records and public records mainly in the deep-rooted influence of positivism. In such situations, the discussions of social memories can explore meanings and roles of record management in pluralistic society. Meanwhile, many articles in archival science has been widespread recognition that records will soon be just memories in terms of objective and neutral evidence. In recently, however, conviction on objectivity and neutrality of records has broken down by the influence of postmodernism on archival science. Therefore this article intends to explore the relationship between record and memory and to argue the roles of archival science for building social memories.

The purpose of the study is to develop the indicator and scale for evaluating the service environments of archives and to assess the physical service environments of National Archives of Korea (NAK), and then to suggest the alternatives to improve the current service environments on the basis of the results of evaluation. To achieve the purpose, the study designed three research phases: first, to develop the indicator and scale to measure the current service environments by merging universal design indicators and various standards of NAK for establishing facilities and environments on the basis of the barrier-free authentication indicators; second, to evaluate the current service environments of NAK with the newly developed scale; finally to suggest alternatives to improve the current environments on the basis of the evaluation findings. The study found that current service environments of NAK have critical limits on the areas and facilities to provide direct archival information services to users such as reference service desks, showrooms, education rooms, seminar rooms, etc. On the basis of the results, the study suggested the alternatives and further studies for making barrier-free service environments of archives.
