A Formal Specification of Fuzzy Object Inference Model (퍼지 객체 추론 모델의 정형화)

  • There are three significant drawbacks in extant fuzzy rule-based expert system languages. First, they lack the functionality of composite object inference. Second, they do not support fuzzy reasoning semantically easy to understand and conceptually simple to use. Third, knowledge representation and reasoning style of their model have a great semantic gap with those of current database models. Therefore, it is very difficult for the two models to be seamlessly integrated with each other. This paper provides the formal specification of a fuzzy object inference model to solve the three drawbacks. GIS(Geographic Information System) application domain is used to demonstrate that our model naturally models complex GIS information in terms of composite objects and successfully performs fuzzy inference between them.

  • In the present study, preliminary design and analysis of flow distribution for a jet pump, which is able to transfer fuel from the tank to the engine, were performed as an aerospace component technology development project. The jet pump is a core part, which is normally installed in the fuel tank, to supply the fuel from the tank to the engine feed pump, or to transfer the feed between tanks. In order to design preliminarily installed in the jet pump, equations for design were modelled using SIMULINK, and the design was carried out based on the simulation model.

  • Source code quality is very Important that software embedded into product is difficult to change. In order to improve source code quality, it should be considered the quality of analysis and design models as well as the quality of source code. In this paper, we suggest 'Practice Pattern' as one of practical techniques to improve embedded software source code quality. Practice pattern is a procedural pattern to guide modeling and coding activities in software development phases. We believe that applying our pattern provides the improvement of optimum performance, modularization, and portability for embedded software source code.

  • This paper presents an architecture and its instruction set for a graphic coprocessor(GCP) which can be used for a multimedia server. The proposed instruction set employs parallel architecture concepts, such as SIMD and Superscalar. GCP consists of a scheduler and four functional units. The scheduler solves an instruction bottleneck problem causing by sharing with four general processors(GPs). GCP can execute up to 4 instructions in parallel. It consists of about 56,000 gates and operates at 30 MHz clock frequency due to speed limitation of SOG technology. GCP meets the real-time DCT algorithm requirement of the CIF image format and can process up to 63 frames/sec for the DCT Algorithm and 21 frames/sec for the Full Block matching Algorithm of the CIF image format.

  • Three-dimensional structural analysis system for nuclear containment building is presented in this paper. This system includes high-performance plate/shell elements as finite element library. It also adopts numerical modeling technique for unbonded tendon as well as bonded tendon in prestressed concrete structures. This system is constructed by connecting several in-house program to a commercial program DIANA, and then is capable of performing nonlinear analysis for ultimate pressure capacity of nuclear containment building. Finally, three-dimensional structural analysis of CANDU-type containment building is carried out in order to test the reliability of this system. These numerical results are compared with reference values, which obtained from axisymmetric structural analysis.

  • Recently, CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) technology has been widely applied to various area such as video conference, file transfer, voice mail, automatic message transfer and automatic redial, integrated messaging and network fax. In this paper, an administrative affairs supporting system using call control mode of CTI is designed. To improve inefficient processing of job due to heavy calling from entrance candidates during entrance examination of a college, the system is developed. The database of the system is desigend using object modeling technique. Also, the automatic calling and response system using CTI call control mode is implemented. Especially, to interface with voice of candidates who ask whether they pass or fail the entrance examination of the college, TTS(Text To Speech) module is developed.

  • This paper proposes an efficient VLSI architecture of 9-7/5-3 Lifting DWT filters that is used by lossy or lossless compression of JPEG2000. The proposed architecture uses only internal line memories to compute Lifting-DWT operations and its PE(Processing Element) has critical path with 1 multiplier and 1 adder. To reduce the number of PE, we make the vertical filter that is responsible for the column operations of the first level perform both the row and column operations of the second and following levels. As a result, the architecture has smaller hardware cost compared to that of other architectures. It was modeled in RTL level using VHDL and implemented on Altera APEX 20K FPGA.

  • This paper analyses the characteristics of a stiffness-based rehabilitation mechanism for improving the function of the elbow joint of a human. We consider an elastic string as a tool for the elbow joint rehabilitation, where the string has been modeled as a linear spring with a stiffness. For effective rehabilitation training by using such a mechanism, we need to analyse the available torque characteristics of the elbow joint according to the stiffness of the string. Through various simulations, the torque pattern and its range of the elbow joint by assigning the stiffness of the string have been identified for a pre-defined trajectory of motion of the elbow joint. Finally, we show that the specified stiffness-based rehabilitation scheme can be used for effective rehabilitation of the elbow joint.
