A Case study on the Application of Vibration Controlled Blasting Method (진동제어발파공법 적용 사례에 관한 연구)

  • 최근 도심지 굴착공법 선정시 주변환경에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 민원발생을 감안하여, 발파공법이 아닌 기계굴착공법(TBM, SHIELD 등) 등이 부분적으로 적용되고 있다. 그러나 이들 굴착공법들은 굴착조건의 변화에 따라 적용 한계성이 있고, 한계구간이 직면할시 시공성이 극히 떨어지거나 적용 자체가 불가능하게 된다. 이에 따라, 공사기간의 연장, 공사비의 증가 및 적용자체가 불가 할 경우는 공사중단에 이르게 되어 시공과정에서 다른 굴착공법으로 전환되는 사례가 빈번히 발생되고 있다. 따라서 본 사례는 도심지 터널구간으로 당초 할암공법으로 설계되었으나 암반의 강도가 높고 굴착단면적이 협소하여 할암공법이 적용될 수 없었다. 이에 대한 대안공법으로 TBM이나 기타 장비에 의한 기계굴착공법을 검토하였으나, 터널연장이 짧고 터널노선의 곡선부 반경이 작아 대형장비의 투입이 어려운 굴착조건 때문에 최종적으로 폭약을 이용한 발파굴착 공법을 선정하였다. 그러나 발파공법은 진동 및 소음이 필연적으로 수반되기 때문에, 주변 환경공해가 허용하는 범위 내에서 최대한의 시공성과 안전성 여부를 판단하기 위하여 발파진동 및 소음의 허용수준을 설정한 후 시험발파를 실시하였으며, 그 결과에 따라 진동제어발파공법을 적용하였다.

  • Although a range of machine excavation methods are in wide use, including casing, earth drill and reverse circulation drilling, deterioration in pile quality and faulty construction can be often found these days because of trouble in the construction field. For this study, research was conducted in the form of a survey of construction engineers working in the field in order to identify the types and the causes of trouble by focusing on all casing, earth drilling and reverse circulation drilling. By analyzing the causes of trouble, countermeasures could be presented. The data and the analysts presented in this study could be effectively used for minimizing trouble in future machine excavation work during construction.

  • 일반적으로 도심지에서 터널 시공을 위한 암반굴착 작업은 주변 보안물건에 대해 직접적인 피해를 유발시킬 수 있는 공해요소인 진동을 허용기준값 이하로 제어할 수 있으면서 상대적으로 시공성과 경제성이 뛰어난 공법으로 수행되어야 한다. 본 사례에서는 각내의 대표적인 문화시설인 예술의 전당 하부를 통과하는 우면산 터널 공사현장에서 암반굴착공법으로 고려한 TTM 장비를 이용한 기계굴착, 플라즈마 공법, 유압장비를 이용한 할암공법, 겔파쇄 공법, 미진동파쇄기를 이용한 공법, 진동제어발파공법에 대한 현장 적용성을 시험시공 등을 통해 평가한 내용과 결과를 제시하였다. 비록 각 도심지 터널의 현장 상황이나 주변 여건에 따라 이 현장에서의 시험시공 내용이나 적용 결과를 그대로 적용할 수는 없겠지만, 진동제어 암반굴착 공법에 대한 시험시공이나 선정 과정에 이 사례연구가 개략적인 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • Domestic electronic detonators are used widely in many quarry and construction sites since its launch at 2013. In the case of SOC projects conducted in the city, most of them are designed in high-depth to reduce complaints. The high-depth excavation needs a long construction period and huge cost for building shaft and ventilation hole. Mechanical excavation method is applied when safety things are located nearby the site. Solidity of rock and machine's performance affect on the method's efficiency. So as the efficiency is getting lower, the construction period is extended, and the cost is increases as well. This case study is about changing the machine excavation method to the blasting method which is electronic detonator applied at the shaft construction site in the city. This is an example of using electronic detonators on the construction site in reducing blast-noise and vibration while meeting environmental regulatory standards.

  • It was designed as the mechanical excavation mass method on 176m because the safety thing is located around the site. But low-vibration blasting using an electronic detonator was proposed to improve constructability and economy. As a result of the suggestion blasting, both blasting noise and vibration were safe within the allowable limit, confirming the applicability of low-vibration blasting using an electronic detonator to the section. And compared with the mechanical mass excavation method, an economic evaluation was conducted about the section, and it was evaluated that there was an economic advantage as the construction period was reduced by 88 days.

  • The construction method for Young Dong Tunnel has been chosen following detailed risk assessment. In this paper, the specific risks to the project programme, associated with adopting either mechanical excavation in the form of a shielded TBM, or drill and blast excavation methods, are assessed. From the risk assessment results, and taking other important factors into account, such as project sensitivity and local experience, the recommendation is made that the relatively low risk drill-and-blast method is the most appropriate for construction of Young Dong Tunnel.

  • In urban area, the use of mechanical excavators (e.g., TBM and roadheader) has been increasing in construction of tunnelling and underground space. The undercutting technology, which is modified from the conventional rock-cutting concept, has been developed by advanced countries. Therefore, research on the latest technology of mechanical excavation is required, and keeping carrying out research on conventional mechanical tunneling methods at the same time. In this study, as a fundamental study of the undercutting technique, the principle and concept of the undercutting were introduced, as well as the current status of the research of advanced countries. The undercutting is applicable as a full-face excavation method for the tunnels and underground spaces, as well as an auxiliary(partial-face excavation) method for extension of the existing tunnels.

  • According to increase of construction projects which is accomplished in the town, diaphragm wall method was proposed. This method diminished noise and vibration. And it is able to excavate deeper than other methods. But excavation work is difficult to maintain vertical and requires much time to work. Also the work result depends on know-how, experience and intuition of excavating machine operator. We interviewed technical experts related with slurry wall method and find equipment's characteristics. We used cost-concern matrix to investigate the propriety for the introduction of trench cutter automation. Through the research, it is proper to apply trench cutter automation.

  • The use of TBM has been rapidly increased in recent years since TBM has been introduced to Korea in 1985 and Korea came to occupy 27% of TBM holding ratio in the world. Despite a lot of experience, study on promoting the efficiency of TBM excavation is insufficient. The factors that influence the efficiency of excavation are the mechanical farttor geotechnical factor and management factor. The study on the efficiency of excavation has focused on the improvement of mechanical factor. But geotechnical factor is also very important and by this factor engineer can estimate the applicability of TBM. The purpose of this paper is to understand the effectiveness of TBM excavation for vari orts rock quality by analysing relations between rock quality and TBM excavation.
