Study on Improvement of Pressure Differential System for Smoke Management in Evacuation Stairs (피난계단 연기제어시스템의 적정차압 유지를 위한 개선방향 연구)

  • 국내에서는 고층 건축물의 화재시 피난계단으로의 연기침투를 방지하여 안전한 피난경로를 확보하기 위하여 피난계단의 부속실에 외기를 급기함으로써 부속실을 단독으로 제연하는 급기가압 제연시스템을 주로 사용하고 있다. 그러나 실제 건축물에 설치되어 운영되고 있는 급기가압 제연시스템에 대한 현장 성능평가의 결과를 검토해보면 상당수의 건축물에서 급기가압 제연시스템이 소기의 운전성능을 발휘하지 못하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 즉, 제연구역인 부속실과 옥내간의 차압이 기준치 이상의 과압으로 형성되거나 또는 반대로 기준치 이하의 저압으로 유지되는 경우가 있다. 특히 피난에 따라 부속실의 출입문이 개방되면, 출입문이 열린 층 이외의 층에서 개방 전에 적정한 수준으로 유지되고 있던 차압이 크게 하강하는 것을 알 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 급기가압 제연시스템의 문제점과 이에 대한 개선방향을 검토하였다.

  • In order to design and operate successfully the pressure differential system for smoke control which uses difference of pressure between compartments of building, architectural factors affecting the pressure field of building should be examined and the stack effect is one of the important factors. The field experiments on pressure field in two buildings of 21 stories and 31 stories in summer and winter season with regard to on/off condition of the pressure differential system are carried out to evaluate the influence of stack effect to evacuation and smoke management of high-rise building. In winter season when the stack effect increases, as the pressure differential system starts to operate, the pressure in upper stair rises largely due to the combination effect of the air infiltration from lobby to stair and the stack effect.

  • 고충건물 피난경로의 제연시스템은 일반적으로 급기가압방식이 널리 쓰인다. 그러나 국내에서 널리 쓰이는 부속실 단독 가압방식은 공간용적이 너무 작아 차압을 형성하고 유지하는 문제와 방연풍속을 형성하는 문제 사이에 늘 불균형이 존재한다. 또한 거실 출입문을 여닫는 데 지장이 없는 차압 하에서도 계단실 출입문은 차압에 밀려 제대로 닫히지 않는 경우가 있을 수 있다. 이런 측면을 역학적으로 검토하고, 과압 해소방식을 제안한다.

Numerical Analysis on Pressurization System of Smoke Control in Consideration of Stack Effect (연돌효과를 고려한 급기가압 제연시스템의 수치해석 연구)

  • When the pressurization system that uses difference of pressure for smoke control is designed, the factors influencing on the pressure field in building should be applied to design process and the stack effect is one of the main factors. Numerical analysis based on network model in 20-story building is carried out to analyze the pressurization system of smoke control in consideration of stack effect. Calculations are conducted for three conditions, that is, stack effect only, pressurization only and stack effect plus pressurization. Results including the detailed pressure field and flow rate at each floor are represented and the stack effect are effectively visualized. Meanwhile, the pressure of stairwell is increased as much as the summation of the stack effect and pressurization, and the problem induced by rise of pressure is pointed out.

  • Regardless of the building design scenarios, evaluation of high-rise buildings required to have smoke-proof enclosures that are provided with a smoke management system. The goal of the smoke management system design is to make sure the pressure differentials at every story within the building fall within the allowable pressure range. If the minimum design pressure is not met, smoke may enter the stair. If the provided pressure is too great, it becomes difficult for occupants to open the doors, while attempting to egress. Ensuring that the pressure differential between the vestibule and the floor is within the prescribed range becomes challenging, due to natural effects on the building, such as the stack effect. In this research, smokeproof enclosure design scenarios were evaluated; and as a result, separation levels for compartmentation were deduced, in the balancing of pressurized-vestibule smoke control systems.

  • 국내에서 고층건물의 제연시스템으로 급기가압 제연시스템이 일반적으로 사용되고 있는데, 기존의 급기가압 제연시스템의 설계방안과 같이 한개의 급기풍도를 통해 누설량과 보충량이 동시에 공급될 경우에는 부속실과 옥내간에 형성되는 차압이 설계기준에 미달하거나 과압이 될 가능성이 매우 높아져서 급기가압 제연시스템의 설치목적을 달성하지 못할 수 있다. 이에 대한 개선방안으로 본 연구에서는 누설량의 공급과 보충량의 공급을 각기 다른 유로를 통해 수행하는 방안 및 장치구성을 제시함으로서 고층건물에서 화재 발생시 안전한 피난환경을 제공하고자 한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 기존 급기가압 제연의 성능평가를 수행하였고, 이를 기반으로 급기가압제연댐퍼의 기류방향에 따른 방연풍속 확보가 곤란한 점에 착안하여 무지향성 제연댐퍼시스템을 개발하였다. 개발된 무지향성 제연댐퍼를 대상으로 Mockup 실험을 수행한 결과 화재실 출입문과 제연댐퍼의 설치위치와 상관없이 방연풍속 확보가 가능하여 급기가압제연시스템의 성능개선효과가 매우 큰 것으로 나타났다.

  • The fact that the smoke hinders evacuation and fire-fighting activities as well as becomes the major cause of life casualty emphasizes the importance of smoke control system. As one of the fire safety standards designed to secure the smoke safety, NFSC501A (Design Guide for Smoke Control System of Special Evacuation Stairwell and Lobby) has been proposed, preventing smoke from penetrating into the smoke-free escape route by raising the pressure of the smoke control zone higher than fire area. For model building of 20 stories, pressurization system was designed according to standard and pressure field of compartments in whole building induced by pressurization system was analyzed using the network model.
