Effects of the Hydrostatic Test and the Operating Condition on Weld Residual Stress at a Safety Nozzle of the Pressurizer (수압시험 및 운전조건이 가압기 안전노즐의 용접잔류응력에 미치는 영향 평가)

  • This paper presents the results of finite element analysis for the effects of hydrostatic test and operating condition on the weld residual stress at dissimilar metal weld of a pressurizer safety nozzle in a nuclear power plant. For the study, the weld residual stress at ambient condition was analyzed using ABAQUS in the first place. After the weld residual stress analysis, the hydrostatic test condition and operating condition was applied to the same model one after another. The weld residual stress was observed to change due to the successive hydrostatic test and operating condition. The axial residual stresses on inner surface of the dissimilar metal weld and HAZ region were decreased by hydrostatic test and operating condition, which gives beneficial effect on preventing primary water stress corrosion cracking.

  • Determination of weld-induced residual stress has been an important issue in nuclear power industry because several failures were reported in dissimilar metal weld parts due to primary water stress corrosion cracking. In this context, a couple of remarkable round robin analyses were conducted to quantify the welding simulation variables and to establish optimized numerical analysis process. The purpose of the present research is to introduce welding simulation results for a safety and relief nozzle, which has a dissimilar metal weld part as well as a similar metal weld part. First, finite element analyses are carried out to calculate residual stresses at the inside of nozzle considering only dissimilar metal welding.   • The effects of additive ions on the generation of metallic nanoparticles were evaluated using a corona induced supersonic nozzle. Applying the corona discharge to the nanoparticle generator, a tungsten needle and the supersonic nozzle are used as an anode electrode and a cathode electrode respectively. The corona ions act as nuclei for the silver vapor condensation. The ion density was controlled precisely as varying the applied voltage between electrode and nozzle. The mean diameter of the silver particle decreases as the ion density increases. However, the number concentration of the silver particle tended to increase with the ion density. The size distribution is more uniform as the ion density increases.

  • aerosol deposition method(ADM)은 에어로졸화 된 고상의 원료분말을 노즐을 통해 분사시켜 소결과정을 거치지 않고도 상온에서 고밀도 후막을 제조할 수 있으며, 세라믹, 고분자, 금속 등의 다양한 코팅이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 ADM들 이용하여 세라믹 후막 및 세라믹-폴리머 복합체 후막을 제조하였고 60 mm 노즐을 이용하여 대면적 세라믹 후막 성장도 시도되었다. 세라믹 후막의 원료로는 낮은 유전율과 우수한 품질계수를 갖는 $Al_2O_3$ 분말과 AlN의 분말이 사용되었으며, 세라믹에 비하여 높은 탄성과 1,500~2,000의 품질계수를 갖는 테프론(teflon) 분말이 세라믹과의 복합체 후막성장에 사용되었다. 세라믹-폴리머 복합체의 경우, 폴리머의 함유량에 따라 후막 내부의 결정립 크기가 20 때의 평균 결정립을 갚는 세라믹 후막에 비해 최대 10배 정도까지 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이에 따라 후막에서의 유전특성 및 전기적인 특성, 열전도도, 투과율이 크게 변화하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 물성 변화에 대한 원인 고찰을 위하여 후막의 미세구조 및 화학조성 등에 다양한 분석이 이루어졌으며, 상온에서 성막되는 후막의 고분자 기판으로의 응용을 위한 최적의 공정조건을 제시하고자 한다.

  • Bead shape control with gas force process has been developed to overcome the concave back bead in pipe orbital welding. However, It is impossible to make a convex back bead using the existing gas nozzle, because it has high gas-consuming and low gas force. The purpose of this paper, to develop optimum shape of nozzle which to reduce the consumption of gas, maximizing the shield gas force with low cost and high productivity coincide the Green welding. In this paper venturi-type nozzle was compared with existing CP-type nozzle by TIG pulse welding in overhead position. As a result, CP-type occurs the wormholes in the overhead position, but the Venturi-type without the pore and formed a good bead appearance.

  • Effects of operating variables on solid separation rate in two-interconnected fluidized beds system for selective solid circulation have been investigated. Coarse(212~300 or $425{\sim}600{\mu}m$) and fine($63{\sim}106{\mu}m$) particles were separated using the solid separator and the solid separation rate was ranged from 66 to 987 g/min. The solid separation rate increased as the gas velocity through the solid injection nozzle, solid height, diameter of solid injection nozzle, particle size of coarse particles, aperture of the solid separator, and weight fraction of fines in the solid mixture increased. However, the effect of the fluidization velocity was negligible.

  • Alloy 82/182로 용접된 원자력 발전소 주기기의 이종 금속 용접부는 장기간 운전 후 응력부식균열(SCC : Stress Corrosion Cracking)에 의한 결함이 나타나게 된다. 2000년대 이후로 원자력 주기기 Alloy 82/182 용접부에서 PWSCC(Primary Water Stress Corrosion Cracking)에 의한 Degradation이 급격히 증가하는 추세를 보이고 있으며, 국내에서도 이와 관련하여 원자력 발전소의 안전성에 대한 Issue 및 대비책에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 이러한 Alloy 600 용접부에 대한 결함을 예방하기 위한 대표적인 기술로써 수명연장 오버레이 기술이 있다. 원자력 주기기 노즐부는 저탄소강으로 제작되어 있으며, 저탄소강에는 제작 시 용접후열처리가 적용된다. 후열처리를 하는 주된 이유는 Tempering을 통해 열영향부의 인성 및 연성의 회복과 강도를 감소시켜 모재와 동등 또는 이 이상의 물성을 갖도록 하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 그러나 수명연장 오버레이의 경우 현장 작업 시에 후열처리가 어렵기 때문에, 이를 대체하기 위한 기술로 템퍼비드 용접을 적용할 경우 후열처리를 면제해 주고 있다. 본 연구에서는 수명연장 오버레이 기술 개발의 일환으로써 저 탄소강에 대한 템퍼비드 용접 기술을 확립하였다. 실험에 사용된 모재는 원자력 주기기의 노즐에 사용되는 SA508 Gr.3 Cl.1을 사용하였으며, 용가재는 Alloy 52 및 52M을 사용하였다. 최적 조건 도출을 위해서 실험 매트릭스를 이용하여 기본 실험을 수행하였으며, 실험에는 자동 GTAW 용접을 적용하였다. 기본 실험을 통해 얻은 최적 조건을 사용하여 PQ 시험을 수행하여 WPS를 확보하였다. 분석은 용접 후 조직 및 경도 시험, 물리시험(인장시험, 굽힘시험 및 충격시험)을 수행하였다.

  • A numerical simulation is attempted for the regenerative cooling heat transfer processes of the liquid propellant rocket engine. The heat transfer from the combustion gases to the thrust chamber wall is called gas side heat transfer. This heat is conducted radially to the coolant through the carbon deposit and metallic wall of thrust chamber Finally, this heat is convected away by the coolant flowing along the passages in the thrust chamber. The equivalence of these three heat fluxes of the above processes is utilized to determine the coolant side wall temperature, gas side wall temperature and the heat flux. When the number and shape(width, height) of coolant passages, the shape(size) of thrust chamber, oxidant and fuel properties, coolant properties, oxidant/fuel mixture ratio, coolant inlet temperature, the thickness of carbon deposit formed along the thrust chamber wall during combustion are given, reasonable radial direction temperature distributions and heat fluxes along the thrust chamber axis are obtained.

Fabrication and Magnetic Properties of Ultrathin Co-based Amorphous Alloy (코발트계 극박형 비정질합금의 형성과 자기적 성질)

  • Fabrication condition and magnetic properties of ultrathin Co-based amorphous alloy have been investigated. When the ejection gas pressure was lower than 0.05 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at the roll speed of 55 m/s, ultrathin ribbons with the thickness less than 10 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ were successfully obtained. The ribbon thickness decreased linearly with the decrease in ejection pressure. Moreover the significant decrease in ribbon width was accompanied with the decrease of thickness in the range of ejection pressure to form an ultrathin ribbon. This behavior was attributed to the decrease of effective ejection pressure in the both end-sides of rectangular nozzle due to the larger friction between molten metal and nozzle wall. The effective permeability at low frequency (1 kHz) decreased largely with the decrease in ribbon thickness, while the coercive force increased with the thickness decrease. It was considered that these behaviors were due to the enhancement of surface effect leading to the suppression of wall motion. However effective permeability at high frequency (1 MHz) increased with the decrease in ribbon thickness, and this was ascribed to the easier magnetization rotation owing to the reduction of eddy current.

Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Alloy 82/182 Weld Joint Between SA508 Gr.3 Nozzle and F316L Safe-End (SA508 Gr.3 노즐과 F316L 안전단 사이의 Alloy 82/182 용접부에 대한 기계적물성치 평가)

  • This paper presents the distributions of the tensile and fracture properties of an alloy 82/182 dissimilar weld joint between an SA508 Gr.3 nozzle and F316L SS safe-end at ambient temperature. Tensile and J-R tests were conducted using specimens extracted from base metals, heat-affected zones (HAZs), buttering regions, and various regions of the weld metal. The results show that the root region of the weld has higher strength than the upper region. The yield and tensile strengths vary considerably within the root region of the weld. The buttering region had the lowest strengths. The strengths gradually increased as the F316L stainless steel weld boundary was approached. The variation of the strengths within the upper region of the weld is insignificant. The fracture toughness of the alloy 82/182 weld metal is less than those of both the base metals and both HAZs. Within the alloy 82/182 weld, the center of weld has a slightly lower fracture toughness than the weld boundary and buttering region, and the root region has greater toughness than the upper region of the weld.
