백서 안와하신경에서 알콜 및 글리세롤 주입의 효과 (EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL AND GLYCEROL INJECTION ON THE RAT INFRAORBITAL NERVE)

  • This study was performed to investigate the changes of nerve after the injection of alcohol and glycerol at the infraorbital nerve in rats. Using the eighteen Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing $200{\sim}250g$, 99% alcohol, pure glycerol, and sterile saline was injected to the epineurium of the infraorbital nerve. Glycerol injected rats were devided into 0.01ml, 0.03ml and 0.05ml groups. The alcohol and control group were injected 0.03ml at the left infraorbital nerve. The following results were obtained by histopathological examination after 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months. A few inflammatory cell infiltration and no signs of nerve degeneration were noted in control group. Total nerve degeneration was noted in the alcohol group and no regeneration was noted in 1month, and partial regeneration was noted at 3month. The nerve degeneration was noted at the periphery of nerve bundle in 0.01ml glycerol injection group. Total degeneration was noted in the 0.03ml and 0.05ml glycerol injection group and the degree was propotional to dose. These results suggest that injection of alcohol and glycerol are effective to nerve blockage by nerve degeneration, and nerve degeneration by glycerol injection is propotional to dose and nerve regeneration by glycerol injection is inversely propotional to dose.

기능성 화장품의 캐리어로서 천연 할로이사이트의 활용 (Use of Natural Halloysite as a Functional Cosmetics Carrier)

  • 천연 할로이사이트는 대부분 지름 15-125 nm범위의 내강으로 이루어진 튜브 구조의 형태를 가진다. 이러한 튜브형 할로이사이트는 액체 성분의 화장품을 내부에 담지하거나 고체상의 무기물 성분을 고정화하는데 사용될 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 기능성 화장품 성분의 담지기술과 고정화기술을 소개하고 할로이사이트가 화장품용 기재로 유용하게 활용된 두 가지 연구 사례를 기술하였다. 이 논문이 천연 할로이사이트를 응용한 화장품 연구에 많은 관심을 불러모을 수 있기를 기대한다.

팔정산(八正散) 약침(藥鍼) 및 복강(腹腔) 주입 병용 시술이 글리세롤로 유발된 토끼의 급성 신부전에 미치는 영향 (Beneficial Effect of Paljeong-san Pharmacopuncture Treatment Combined with Peritoneal Injection on Glycerol-Induced Acute Renal Failure in Rabbits)

  • Purpose: The present study was carried out to determine if Paljeong-san extract (PJS) treatment exerts beneficial effect against the glycerol-induced acute renal failure in rabbits. Material and Method: PJS was selected in the basis of invigorating kidney which can eliminate pathogens. Rabbits were treated with PJS pharmacopuncture on Shin-shu ($BL_{23}$) point for 5 days right after the injection of 50% concentration of glycerol ($5m{\ell}/kg$ body weight). Results and Conclusions: Glycerol injection caused an increase in serum creatinine and BUN level and urine glucose secretion, which were accompanied by a reduction in GFR. PJS Pharmacopuncture treatment combined with peritoneal injection showed beneficial effect on glycerol-induced acute renal failure by inhibition of serum creatinine increase and GFR decrease.

폴리글리세롤을 친수성기로한 비이온성 계면활성제의 용액성 (Solution Properties of Polyglycerol Alkyl Ether Nonionic Surfactant)

  • The synthesis and solution properties of polyglycerol alkyl ether($R_{12}Gn$) are described. The phase behavior, surface tension, cloud point and HLB value of polyglycerol dodecyl ether in aqueous solution and in mixed solution of surfactant /water /oil have been investigated and compared with values of polyoxyethylene dodecyl ether. The surface tension showed that $R_{12}Gn$ have sufficiently low values of surface tension and cmc to serve as useful polyoxyethylene alkyl ether. The mesophases appearing in the $R_{12}Gn$ systems were more stable in a high temperature range than the mesophases of polyoxyethylene alkyl ether systems. The cloud point and HLB data indicated that addition of one glycerol group was equivalent to the addition of three oxyethylene group units, as far as the hydrophilic property was concerned. The phase diagrams of the polyglycerol alkyl ether /dodecane /water systems showed that the solubilizing and emulsifying powers of $R_{12}Gn$ were greater than those of polyoxyethylene alkyl ether. It is concluded that the polyglycerol chain can be even more useful as hydrophilic group of nonionic surfactants than the polyoxyethylene chain.

글리세롤을 이용한 구연산캡핑 은나노입자의 정맥주사용 현탁액 조제 및 안정성 (The Stability of Citrate-capped Silver Nanoparticles in Isotonic Glycerol Solution for Intravenous Injection)

  • Citrate-capped silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are widely used in industry, consumer products and medical appliances. However, information on the toxicity, environmental fate and toxicokinetics are not enough. In this study, stability of citrate-capped AgNPs was investigated using different types of isotonic solution, which is important in the toxicokinetic study by the exposure route of intravenous injection. Size, morphology, zeta potential and ion formation were investigated in isotonic solutions for the physico-chemical characterization of AgNPs. Aggregation and precipitation of AgNPs were observed in saline or phosphate-buffered saline while they were stable without precipitation in 2% glycerol of isotonic solution. The average size of AgNPs in 2% glycerol was 6~10 nm, which was almost same as that in water-based suspension of AgNPs. Zeta potential was ranged from -30 mV to -60 mV, which was in the range of original stock AgNPs. The stability was maintained during the whole experimental period of 48 hours. Furthermore, the stability was not changed in different temperature (10~36$^{\circ}C$) and at different concentrations (10~1,000 ppm). The osmolarity of the AgNPs suspension was $299{\pm}1$ mOsm/kg which was in isotonic range. These data suggest that AgNPs in 2% glycerol solution can be used for the preparations of intravenous injection for toxicokinetic study without undesired disturbance of blood isotonicity.

Vegetable Leather 표면코팅에 대한 Glycerol을 이용한 수분산 폴리우레탄의 합성 및 기계적 특성 (Mechanical Properties and Synthesis of Polyurethane Dispersion by Glycerol for Vegetable Leather Surface Coatings)

  • Vegetable leather 표면 코팅에 사용된 폴리우레탄 수지는 glycerol의 함유를 mole % 비로 달리하면서 합성하였다. 합성된 폴리우레탄 수지의 기계적 특성은 SEM, FT-IR, UTM 등을 이용하여 측정하였다. 친환경적인 고분자 수지의 관심이 고조됨에 따라 용제의 사용을 최소화한 vegetable leather 코팅에 사용되는 수분산 수지를 합성하였다. 지방족 3가 알콜인 glycerol의 mole % 비가 증가함에 따라 내마모도, 인장강도가 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 반대로 연신율, 내굴곡 물성은 감소함을 알 수 있었다. Toluene을 이용한 내용제성 물성측정 결과에는 glycerol의 mole % 증가에 따른 물성 증감 효과는 없었다.

  • In this paper, $TiO_2$ nanotube is prepared and the preparation is influenced by electrochemical etching rate and chemical dissolution rate. Especially, the chemical dissolution rate is lowered as the length $TiO_2$ nanotube increases. Titanium foil were anodized at various bias or current such as 20V, 55V and 0.1A (bath temperature $25^{\circ}C$) in organic electrolytes (ethylene glycol, glycerol) and then annealed at $450^{\circ}C$ and $650^{\circ}C$ to obtain the crystallized tubular $TiO_2$ on the Ti foil. Higher efficiency (89.1%) for the Cr(VI) reduction was obtained with the prepared sample compared to that (20.9%) with the sample in 0.5% HF electrolyte earlier studied.

글리세롤을 이용한 복합영양소에서 Chlorella sp., Nannochloris sp.와 Botryococcus braunii 의 바이오매스 생산량과 오일 함유량 비교 (Comparison of Biomass and Oil Content of Chlorella sp., Nannochloris sp., and Botryococcus braunii in the Mixotrophic Conditions using Glycerol)

  • The focus of this study was to observe the growth of Chlorella sp., Nannochloris sp., and Botryococcus braunii under mixotrophic conditions (i.e., added glycerol) with the aim of increasing the growth of biomass and algae oil content. A significant growth of biomass was obtained when grown in glycerol rich environment comparing to autotrophic conditions. 5 g/L glycerol yielded the highest biomass concentration for these strains. Mixotrophic conditions improved both the growth of the microalgae and the accumulation of triacylglycerols (TAGs). The maximum amount of TAG in Botryococcus braunii was reached in the growth medium with 10 g/L glycerol and Chlorella sp., Nannochloris sp. with 2 g/L glycerol. The content of saturated fatty acids of Chlorella sp., Nannochloris sp., and Botryococcus braunii was found to be 34.94, 14.23 and 13.39%, and the amount of unsaturated fatty acids was 65.06, 85.78 and 86.61% of total fatty acids, respectively. The fatty acid profiles of the oil for the culture possibility met the necessary requirements and are, therefore, promising resource for biofuel production.

동물성 오일 바이오디젤의 분리 및 세정 방법 연구 (Animal fat biodiesel separation and washing)

  • 동물성 오일을 이용한 바이오디젤 생산 반응 후 미반응된 메탄올과 염기촉매의 처리에 관한 연구로써 바이오디젤의 순도에 영향을 미친다. 메탄올과 염기촉매는 바이오디젤 생산 반응 후 상층인 메틸 에스터 층과 하층인 글리세롤 층에 각각 포함되어 있다. 1차적으로 각각의 층에서 메탄올을 증발하게 되며 메탄올 증발은 감압 증류 장치를 이용해 분리하게 된다. BD100을 기준으로 하여 메탄올의 함량은 0.2% 이하여야 하며 수분 함량은 0.05% 이하를 유지해야 한다. 메탄올 증발은 메탄올의 끓는 온도인 $65^{\circ}C$를 기준으로 하여 끓는점 보다 낮은 온도와 높은 온도에서 각각 증발을 실시하고 각각의 메탄올 증발 제거에 따른 FAME 함량에 미치는 영향에 대해 FAME 함량 분석을 통해 조사하였으며 메탄올 증발 후 증류수를 이용한 바이오디젤 내 잔류 촉매 및 자유 글리세린 세정 제거에 대해 조사하였다. 증류수 양과 증류수 온도 및 세정 시간에 따른 FAME 함량 변화를 알아보았으며 세정 후 증류수 증발에 따른 FAME 함량 변화에 대해서 분석을 실시하였다. 본 실험을 통해 동물성 오일을 이용한 바이오디젤 생산 후처리 공정인 메탄올 증발 및 세정, 수분 증발 공정의 최적 조건을 도출하고자 하였다.

바이오디젤부산물인 폐글리세롤을 이용한 친환경 가소제의 개발 (Development of an Eco-friendly Plasticizer using Crude Glycol Derived from the Biodiesel Process)

  • Objectives: The major objective is development of an eco-friendly non-phthalate plasticizer using crude glycol derived from the biodiesel process. Methods: Glycerol monolaurate(GML) was synthesized from glycol and triglyrcerides. Glycerol diacetomonolaurate(GDAL) was synthesized from GML and acetic acid. Results: The synthesis of the GDAL plasticizer was measured with nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(NMR). Mechanical properties were measured by universal testing machine(UTM) and the experimental values were compared with phthalate plasticizers such as dioctyl phthalate(DOP). In particular, the values for tensile strength and elongations with GDAL were higher than with DOP. Conclusions: We confirmed the development of an eco-friendly non-phthalate plasticizer by NMR. Based on our results, applicability for food and drug packaging materials was found.
