Improved ILDC Formulation for Very Thin Gap/Crack (아주 가는 균열의 산란 해석을 위한 향상된 ILDC 공식)

  • The scattered field by a gap/crack on the PEC surface of a large object having low-observable RCS cannot be negligible, but may not be analyzed by the known high-frequency technique. If the electrical width of the crack is very small, the crack can be modeled by an impedance strip, whose scattering formulation can be analytically obtained based on a low-frequency approximation. The scattering solution is formulated for the 2D strip and TE(Transverse Electric) or TM(Transverse Magnetic) wave incidence, from which a 3D ILDC(Incremental Length Diffraction Coefficients) can be extracted. Using the ILDC formulation, the scattering by any arbitrary shaped crack can be estimated. In this paper, an improved ILDC equations are proposed, which combine the known TE and TM solutions. The improved accuracy of the proposed solution is numerically verified.

A Simplified Method of Drawing Influence Lines for Continuous Beams (연속(連續)보의 영향선(影響線) 작도(作圖)에 관한 한 편법(便法))

  • In case of the analysis of continuous beams, the complexity increases greatly as the number of spans becomes large, and even the slope-deflection method or the moment distribution method is subject to restriction in its utilization. In this study, a revised exact method is developed for the analysis of continuous beams up to four spans, and a new approximate method is proposed for the multi-span continuous beams. This approximate procedure is very simple in its application and provides very satisfactory results which converge closely on the exact ones. These methods can also be used conveniently especially for drawing influence lines for the support moments of continuous beams, and their value is fully appreciated because of notable simpleness as compared with the conventional method which is mainly based on the Muller-Breslau principle.

Modal Nodal Transport Analysis

  • A unified modal-nodal expansion of tile angular distribution of neutron flux in one spatial dimension is considered, following the proposal of Harms. Several standard nodal and/or modal methods of analysis are shown to be specializations of this technique. The modal-nodal moment from of the mono-energetic transport equation with isotropic sources and scattering is derived and the infinite medium eigenvalue problem solved. The technique is shown to yield results which approximate the exact value of the inverse diffusion length in non-multiplying media more accurately than standard methods of equal or somewhat greater computational complexity.

제한조건식을 갖는 연립 4수 경계치 문제의 유한요소내해석

  • 유한요소법은 경계치(boundary value)문제에 대한 근사해를 구하는 한 방법으로 공학문제 해결의 강력한 도구로서 그 적용분야가 확장되고 있으며, 아울러 유한요소법 자체의 제한점을 축소시 키기 위한 연구가 응용수학자나 공학자에 의해 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 글에서는 일반적인 유한요소법의 개념을 자연스럽게 확장시켜 공학문제에서 자주 취급되는 제한조건식을 포함한 미분방정식의 처리와 연립미분방정식 및 4계 경계치 문제에 적용시키는 방법을 구체적으로 소 개하고자 한다. 이러한 문제는 최근 에너지 확보와 관련하여 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는 해 저송유관 설계 및 부설, 시추선 상승관(riser)의 응력해석, 해저광물채집(ocean mining)등의 해 양공학분야에서 크게 대두되고 있다. 해저송유관의 수학적 모델을 통하여 제약조건식을 갖는 연립 4계 경계치 문제를 소개하고 유한요소법의 적용을 설명하고자 한다.

  • 스펙트럼 분할 시스템에서 사용되는 광수신기의 수신감도의 해석을 위해 시스템에서 필터의 실제적인 스펙트럼 폭의 효과가 수신기의 감도에 미치는 영향에 대해 평가하였다. 전송기법으로 일반적인 디지털전송기법인 OOK와 FSK를 이용하였고, 해석방법으로는 가우시안 근사법과 ${\kappa}$-자승법으로 이용하였다. 결과로써, 필터의 차수가 증가할수록 수신기의 감도가 줄어들었고, 필터로 인한 시스템의 페널티는 필터의 차수의 N이 3보다 큰 경우에는 1dB이하로 감소됨을 확인하였다. 이를 통해 필터의 차수 N이 3이상이 되면 시스템의 페널티가 1dB이하로 줄어들기 때문에 시스템의 성능에 큰 영향을 미치지 않음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • A design method of an electromagnetic wave absorber with ferrite fins in the second layer, which has very wide band frequency characteristics and is used for single-polarized wave absorption such as TV wave etc, has been designed. To examine the effectiveness of the Equivalent Material Constants Method$(EMCM)^{[1]}$ which is approximate method, the effective complex permittivity calculated by the Hashin-Strikman formulas and the EMCM are compared. Since, furthermore, the reflectivities by the EMCM in space and the FDTD method in an rectangular waveguide agreed well each other, it has been confirmed that the proposed electromagnetic wave absorber has excellent absorption characteristics in the frequency range of 30 MHz to 5830 MHz. Thus, it can be concluded that the EMCM is usefull to design and analyze the electro-magnetic wave absorber proposed here.

  • BDD is a well-known alternative to the conventional Boolean logic method in fault tree analysis. As the size of fault tree increases, the calculation time and computer resources for BDD dramatically increase. A new failure path search and path restructure method is proposed for efficient calculation of CS and MCS from BDD. Failure path grouping and bottom-up path search is proved to be efficient in failure path search in BDD and path restructure is also proved to be used in order to reduce the number of CS comparisons for MCS extraction. With these newly proposed methods, the top event probability can be calculated using the probability by ASDMP(Approximate Sum of Disjoint MCS Products), which is shown to be equivalent to the result by the conventional MCUB(Minimal Cut Upper Bound) probability.

Analysis of Linear Consolidation Problems by the Boundary Element Method (경계요소법에 의한 선형 압밀문제의 해석)

  • This paper presents a boundary element method for obtaining approximate solutions of 2-dimensional consolidation problems based on the Biot's linear theory. Laplace transform is applied to differential equation system in order to eliminate the time dependency. The boundary integral equations in transformed space are formulated and the fundamental solutions are shown in a closed form. In order to convert the transformed solutions to the ones in real space, the Hosono's numerical Laplace transform inversion method is applied. As a numerical example, a half-space consolidation problem subjected to a strip local load is selected and the applicability of the method is demonstrated through the comparison with the exact solutions.

  • The aim of this study is focused on getting an almost exact solution which is the simplicity and exactness of an axisymmetrically loaded cylindrical shell. This method replaces the finite element method which is a very powerful tool for analysis of any kind of structure which has an arbitrary shape, but is still a numerical analysis. Instead, this study uses the method of distribution of end actions which is a kind of iteration technique to implement the leading matrix method. The distribution and carry-over factors of a cylinder are calculated by the theory of a differential equation of a beam on an elastic foundation. The results are satisfactory when this method is applied to a cylinder that is subjected to a concentrated load and hydrostatic pressure when compared with the BEF analogy separately.

  • Combustion response function of a solid propellant is measured and calculated to study and model the feedback process between acoustic waves and combustion field. Standard Pulsed DB/AB method and related one-dimensional approximate analysis of T-burner are used to obtain the response function at a driving natural frequency. The problems related with simultaneous ignition of propellant samples are also mentioned and treated.
