Abnormal Behavior Detection Based on Adaptive Background Generation for Intelligent Video Analysis (지능형 비디오 분석을 위한 적응적 배경 생성 기반의 이상행위 검출)

  • Intelligent video analysis systems require techniques which can predict accidents and provide alarms to the monitoring personnel. In this paper, we present an abnormal behavior analysis technique based on adaptive background generation. More specifically, abnormal behaviors include fence climbing, abandoned objects, fainting persons, and loitering persons. The proposed video analysis system consists of (i) background generation and (ii) abnormal behavior analysis modules. For robust background generation, the proposed system updates static regions by detecting motion changes at each frame. In addition, noise and shadow removal steps are also were added to improve the accuracy of the object detection. The abnormal behavior analysis module extracts object information, such as centroid, silhouette, size, and trajectory. As the result of the behavior analysis function objects' behavior is configured and analyzed based on the a priori specified scenarios, such as fence climbing, abandoning objects, fainting, and loitering. In the experimental results, the proposed system was able to detect the moving object and analyze the abnormal behavior in complex environments.

The Unscented Kalman Filter Based Backward Filters for the Precise INS/GPS System (정밀 INS/GPS시스템을 위한 언센티드 칼만 필터 기반의 역방향 필터연구)

  • Unscented Kalman filter based backward filter is derived and the positions from extended Kalman filter, unscented Kalman filter, and extended Kalman smoother are compared and analyzed through a simulation test. Considering the poor GPS signal reception, the simulation is performed under the assumption of only the start and end points of the trajectory, composed of 4 curves and 5 straight sections in the area of $40m{\times}40m $, are known. The test shows that the smoothers generate much better positioning results of 8~9m improvement compared to those from the forward filters. For the comparison between the smoothers, the analysis is performed separately for the curves and straight segments. In both cases, the unscented Kalman smoother generates better positioning error; 10cm and 23cm improved positioning results in straight segment and curves, respectively.

  • This paper proposes a sequential state estimation model consisting of continuous and discrete variables, as a way of generalizing all discrete-state factorial HMM, and gives a design of gait motion model based on the idea. The discrete state variable implements a Markov chain that models the gait dynamics, and for each state of the Markov chain, we created a Gaussian process over the space of the continuous variable. The Markov chain controls the switching among Gaussian processes, each of which models the rotation or various views of a gait state. Then a particle filter-based algorithm is presented to give an approximate filtering solution. Given an input vector sequence presented over time, this finds a trajectory that follows a Gaussian process and occasionally switches to another dynamically. Experimental results show that the proposed model can provide a very intuitive interpretation of video-based gait into a sequence of poses and a sequence of posture states.

A Study on Adaptive Design of Experiment for Sequential Free-fall Experiments in a Shock Tunnel (충격파 풍동에서의 연속적 자유낙하 실험에 대한 적응적 실험 계획법 적용 연구)

  • This study introduces an adaptive design of experiment (DoE) approach for the hypersonic shock-tunnel testing. A series of experiments are conducted to model the pitch moment coefficient of a cone as the function of the angle of attack and the pitch rate. An algorithm to construct the trajectory of the test model from the images obtained by the high-speed camera is developed to effectively analyze multiple time series experimental data. An adaptive DoE procedure to determine the experimental point based on the analysis results of the past experiments using the algorithm is proposed.

  • As the electric power industry is evolving into competitive market scheme, a new paradigm is required for the operation of market. Traditional dispatch algorithm was built based on the optimization model with an objective function and multiple constraints. Commercial market simulator followed the concept of the microeconomic model used in the dispatch algorithm, which is called as analytic method. On analytic method it is prerequisite to procure the exact data for the simulation. It is not easy anymore for each market participant to access to other participants' financial information while it used to be easy for monopoly decision maker to know all the information needed for the optimal operation. Considering the changing situation, it is required to introduce a new method for estimating the market price. This paper proposes an empirical method based on stochastic processes expected to build a capacity planning and long term contracts.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a cost effective usability test model for business web site development. In this study, we present a usability test model that combines Concurrent Think Aloud, performance measurement, coaching method, and remote test method. Testing target was the consortium website of electronic information joint licensing. Test participants were actual users selected by their task roles and proficiency in different levels. We improved the system by reflecting the results of user test analysis and re-tested usability test again. The result showed that usability of all participants was improved in the aspect of the time required and the complexity of mouse trajectory. It is expected that the usability test model presented in this study can be used to cost-effectively evaluate and analyze business web sites. We suggest that research various usability test model considering the characteristics of websites.

Assessment of Typhoon Trajectories and Synoptic Pattern Based on Probabilistic Cluster Analysis for the Typhoons Affecting the Korean Peninsula (확률론적 클러스터링 기법을 이용한 한반도 태풍경로 및 종관기후학적 분석)

  • Lately, more frequent typhoons cause extensive flood and wind damage throughout the summer season. In this respect, this study aims to develop a probabilistic clustering model that uses both typhoon genesis location and trajectories. The proposed model was applied to the 197 typhoon events that made landfall in the Korean peninsula from 1951 to 2012. We evaluate the performance of the proposed clustering model through a simulation study based on synthetic typhoon trajectories. The seven distinguished clusters for typhoons affecting Korean peninsula were identified. It was found that most of typhoon genesis originated from a remote position ($10^{\circ}{\sim}20^{\circ}N$, $120^{\circ}{\sim}150^{\circ}E$) near the Equator. Cluster, type B can be regarded as a major track due to the fact that its frequency is approximately about 25.4% out of 197 events and its direct association with strong positive rainfall anomalies.

  • 본 논문은 지구공간에 존재하는 다양한 공간정보를 이용하여 도로 및 철도 계획과 공사를 위한 최적노선을 선정하는 기법에 관한 새로운 연구이다. 사람과 물자를 수송하는데 있어서 가장 기본적인 공공교통시설인 도로 및 철도를 건설하기 위하여 초기에 가장 중요한 결정이 바로 최적노선결정이므로 환경파괴를 최대한으로 감소시키고 그 기능을 충분히 발휘할 수 있도록 대상 지역의 여러 가지 조건을 고려하여 가장 적합한 노선의 위치를 결정하여야 한다. 3차원 지형 환경의 공간영상콘텐츠는 국토계획 및 통신설비계획, 철도건설, 시공, 입체적인 유비쿼터스 도시 구현, 안전 및 방재 등에서 많은 요구와 그 중요성이 크게 부각되고 있다. 현재 지리정보 기반의 2차원적인 지도정보와 시설정보를 다차원의 도시공간으로 재현하기 위하여 기존의 등고선을 이용한 DEM 방식은 많은 한계를 가지고 있으며, 특히, 철도와 같은 노선 폭이 좁고 길이가 길어서 궤적 관리가 어려운 작은 구조물의 경우에는 그 고도모델이 무시되기 쉬우므로, 레이저 측량 기술을 이용한 공간대상물에 대한 높은 정확도 취득이 크게 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 원격탐사 영상 Data를 중심으로 하는 정사보정하고 이에 매칭 할 수 있는 수치 지도 벡터와의 통합 및 전환으로 다차원 공간에서 건물 모델의 생성과 다양한 활용을 제시하는 것을 연구목적으로 하였고, 연구방법으로는 기존의 이미 취득한 2차원적인 평면사진을 지상 기준점에 의하여 정밀기하보정을 하여 얻은 사진영상자료를 이용하여 3차원 공간정보로 구성하기 위해서는 동일지역에 대한 수준 측량결과인 높이 데이터를 매칭하여야 하므로, 항공기에 탑재한 센서로 모든 대상지에 대한 지형지물의 고밀도의 높이 값을 획득하여 위치보정 작업 후에 3D로 매칭할 수는 방법을 연구하여 실험하도록 하였다 또한 본 연구에서는 연구대상지역의 지형조건, 기존 노선과의 비교, 토지이용, 지형경사, 사면방향, 지가 등을 분석하여 각각의 경중률을 고려한 후 선택된 후보노선들을 비교분석함으로서 최적노선을 선정하고자 하였다.

The Analysis of Related Variables on the Center of Gravity Deviation: Focus on the Musculoskeletal Pain (중력중심 이동과 관련 변인분석 -근골격계 통증을 중심으로-)

  • 본 연구에서는 근골격계 통증이 자세유지와 균형능력에 핵심이 되는 중력중심 이동에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아봄으로서, 균형과 자세에 영향을 주는 다양한 요소들에 대한 새로운 접근을 시도해 보고자 한다. I-병원의 입원 및 외래 환자 중 신경계 손상이 없고 중력중심 이동에 직접적인 영향을 줄 수 있는 하지에 정형외과적 장애가 없으며, 전정계 손상이나 시력장애로 인한 균형에 문제가 없이 근골격계 질환으로 요통과 견통을 주소로 하는 71명의 환자(남자 38, 여자 33; 평균연령=44, 표준편차=13.8, 범위=19~79)와 신경계, 근골격계 및 평형감각에 문제가 없는 정상인 30명의 대조군(남자 16, 여자 14; 평균연령=39.2, 표준편차=13.7, 범위=21~72)을 대상으로 전산화된 힘판을 이용하여 중력중심 이동의 궤적을 표준편차값으로 측정하였다. 측정된 중력중심 이동값은 두 군간에 상이한 차이를 보이고 있음이 검증되었다(p<.01). 또 측정된 여러 변수들의 중력중심 이동에 대한 영향력을 알아보기 위해 나이, 체중 및 신장과 중력중심 이동과의 상관분석 결과 중력중심 이동의 15.8%를 체중의 변화에 의한 것으로 설명할 수 있다는 결과를 얻었으며, 그 외의 변수들과의 연관성에 대해선 유의미한 차이가 없었다(p<.01). 결과적으로 근골격계 통증은 올바른 자세유지와 균형유지를 위한 감각통합과 반응과정에 직접, 간접적으로 영향을 미치고 있다. 따라서 중력 중심 이동이 크면 클수록 중심을 잡기 위한 근육활동으로 추가적인 에너지가 사용되고, 편중된 중력중심 이동은 근골격계에 무리한 부담을 주어 통증을 증가시킬 수 있을 것이다. 또 통증으로 인한 중력중심 이동은 이를 보상하기 위해 신체 먼 곳에서의 이차적인 변형을 초래하여 각종 근골격계 증상의 원인이 될 수 있으므로 근골격계에 대한 적절한 치료는 통증을 감소시켜 자세의 이차적인 변형을 막고 자세유지 시 작용하는 근육의 에너지 효율을 높일 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Estimation of Predictive Travel Times Using Ubiquitous Traffic Environment under Incident Conditions (유비쿼터스 환경에서 돌발상황 발생 시 예측적 통행시간 추정기법)

  • This study presented a novel method to estimate travel times under incident conditions. Predictive travel time information was defined and evaluated with the proposed method. The proposed method utilized individual vehicle speeds obtained from global positioning systems (GPS) and inter-vehicle communications(IVC) for more reliable real-time travel times. Individual vehicle trajectory data were extracted from microscopic traffic simulations using AIMSUN. Market penetration rates (MPR) and IVC ranges were explored with the accuracy of travel times. Relationship among travel time accuracy, IVC ranges, and MPR were further identified using regression analyses. The outcomes of this study would be useful to derive functional requirements associated with traffic information systems under forthcoming ubiquitous transportation environment
