Framework and Tools for Rapid M&S Component Development and Reusability (M&S 컴포넌트의 신속 개발과 재사용을 위한 프레임워크 및 도구 개발)

  • Modeling and simulation technology is being used in various fields. Especially in the field of military, Simulation-Based Acquisition (SBA) is recognized as a essential policy. To effectively carry out SBA, modeling and simulation techniques should be applied in the whole life-cycle for the weapon system development, and the framework and tools which can help the rapid component development and reusability are needed. In this research, we use the simulation framework based on modeling formalism for enhancement of reusability and a GUI-based modeling environment for rapid M&S component development. The Proposed framework can act as plug-in components on the basis of XML-based object model, so that the flexible design is possible for the change of the model and simulation structure. In addition, our methods are effective to implement the functions for supporting simulation such as the model data logging and communication with external systems. In this paper, we describe an architecture and functions for the framework and tools.

  • Configuration management is an important project management method. Configuration management is increasing daily and improving defense power as a management tool for technical data of power support systems. Configuration management work must be carried out properly from the beginning of development to acquire an excellent weapon system. In procurement, configuration management is a vital factor that can determine the cost of maintaining operations during the transfer of military supplies and carry out systematic management among operational support. Countries are making changes to policies and systems to manage R&D, standards, and patents in conjunction with each other from the beginning of research and execution, and it is important to establish the concept of managing and controlling the configuration as an efficient means of managing military resources. To identify the activity details during the entire life cycle from the beginning of acquisition to the end of disposal by linking munitions configuration control with the total life cycle, and redefine the appropriate work system, this study investigated and analyzed the U.S. configuration control procedures to identify the activity details and present areas to develop.

A Study on the Introduction of PMCs in Korea (한국적 민간군사기업 도입방안에 대한 연구)

  • After the Cold War, obligations of nation are expanded to 'Comprehensive Security' that caring citizens' safety and welfare in addition to national defense. Major nations are competing to revolutionize their army to be prepared for various threats. Major nations, including United States and United Kingdom, are tend to adopting and using PMCs eagerly. The size of PMC market estimated around 70 billion euro and growing rapidly. Korea has to adopt PMCs for building military force and operating efficiency while driving 'Military Reform 2030'. Adopting PMCs in Korea can be considered as followings reflecting security situation. So, Korean army must consider implementing and adopting PMCs in order to building army force and attaining efficiency and preparing for the N orth Korean threat and various security risks.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to escape from the existing defense quality policy focused on government-led quality assurance for mass-produced items and to secure quality reliability of weapon systems through a defense quality policy paradigm shift based on designing a verification systems anchored on reliability through the enhancement of military supply quality control in the development stage, the enhancement of quality responsibility of the manufacturing contractor and other methods. Methods: For the shift to the quality-based defense quality policy, the status and the problems of the status quo are analyzed and the direction of future defense quality policy is suggested based on literature review of the concept of reliability and reliability in the field of defense, on case studies of global corporations and their quality policies, on the background on quality assurance in defense, and on case studies of quality policies in other government organizations, Results: Based on the case studies of quality policies in global corporations and other government agencies, the importance of preventive quality control from the early development stages, quality control based on the reliability of the materials and parts, and shift of the quality policy to a certification system to achieve these objectives were highlighted. Conclusion: To secure reliability of weapon system quality, the quality policy must be shifted to a system focused on reliability-based design and verification and there is a further need to enhance the operational efficiency and capacity of DTaQ based on studies and evaluation of weapon system reliability.

정책토론회 - 건축설계의 국제경쟁력 확보와 전문화 방안

  • 우리 협회는 지난 11월 26일 오후 2시 협회 대강당에서 '건축설계의 국제경쟁력 확보 및 전문화 방안'을 주제로 토론회를 개최하였다. WTO출범과 건축설계시장개방 등 급격한 대내ㆍ외적 환경변화에 처해 있는 우리 건축계의 국제경쟁력 확보 방안을 마련하기 위해 열린 이날 토론회에서는 경쟁력 확보를 위해 건축설계사무소마다 다양한 전문분야를 확보하고, 건축설계 생산성 향상을 위해 설계업계와 구조, 설비 등 관련 전문분야가 협력체제를 구축해야 하며, 건축의 상품성과 문화예술성이 함께 고려된 건설관련 법안이 마련돼야 한다는 주장이 제기됐다. 이날 서울시립대 최찬환교수는 '건축설계의 경쟁력 확보 방안'이란 주제발표를 통해 해외건설업계의 국내진출에 대응하기 위해서는 설계사무소가 전문성과 효율성을 확보해야 한다고 강조하면서 전문영역을 크게 주거, 상업시설, 공공시설, 교육문화시설, 사회복지시설, 교통 및 운수시설 등으로 구분하였다. 최교수는 또 외국업체에 의한 국내시장 잠식을 막고 우리가 해외에 진출하기 위해서는 해외건설업체와 협력해 정보와 기술, 경험 등을 지원받아야 하고 R&D에 대한 투자를 적극적으로 해야한다고 강조했다. 이어 '건축설계의 전문화'에 대해 주제발표를 한 강원대 박경립 교수는 국내 건설관련문제점 개선과 대외경쟁력 강화를 위해 현재 입법추진되고 있는 건설산업기본법이 건축설계의 독자성과 전문성을 고려하지 않고 있다고 지적하면서 이에 대한 보완필요성을 제기하였다. 박교수는 또한 건축설계분야가 갖고 있는 전문성과 함께 '건축문화'라는 사회문화적 측면의 중요성이 인식돼야 한다며 건축의 상품성과 문화예술성이 함께 고려된 건설관련 법안이 마련돼야 한다고 지적했다. 박교수는 이밖에도 사회발전에 따른 새로운 전문영역의 개발로 실내 설계와 도시설계를 예로 들었으며 정보화에 맞게 고도의 전문성을 바탕으로 Network체계를 구축하고 그 핵심은 건축사협회에 정보Network를 구축하여 활용하는 것이라고 제안했다. 한편 주제발표 후에는 약 3시간여에 걸쳐 이문보(동국대 교수), 손세관(중앙대 교수), 이병담(현대산업개발 부사장), 김인호(국방부 건설기술과장), 유경철(삼육건축사사무소 대표), 이관영(본 협회 이사)씨 등 건설ㆍ건축관계자들이 참가한 종합토론이 이어졌다. 이 자리에서는 사회의 인식에 앞서 건축계 내부적으로 전문성과 효율성의 확보에 나서야 한다는 의견과 함께 무한경쟁속에서 우리 건축설계의 경쟁력을 높일 수 있다는 다양한 의견들이 제기되었다. 본지에서는 이번 토론회의 주제발표 내용을 요약 정리하여 게재한다.

Inter-device Mutual Authentication and Formal Verification in Vehicular Security System (자동차 보안시스템에서 장치간 상호인증 및 정형검증)

  • The auto industry has significantly evolved to the extent that much attention is paid to M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication. In M2M communication which was first used in meteorology, environment, logistics, national defense, agriculture and stockbreeding, devices automatically communicate and operate in accordance with varying situations. M2M system is applied to vehicles, specifically to device-to-device communication inside cars, vehicle-to-vehicle communication, communication between vehicles and traffic facilities and that between vehicles and surroundings. However, communication systems are characterized by potential intruders' attacks in transmission sections, which may cause serious safety problems if vehicles' operating system, control system and engine control parts are attacked. Thus, device-to-device secure communication has been actively researched. With a view to secure communication between vehicular devices, the present study drew on hash functions and complex mathematical formulae to design a protocol, which was then tested with Casper/FDR, a tool for formal verification of protocols. In brief, the proposed protocol proved to operate safely against a range of attacks and be effective in practical application.

  • This thesis is the study of the analysis about Direction of Promote and Acquisition Program of Human Strength. Now we have question 'How we should develop the human resources program to gain human strength in the strategic environment of the future?' We know that if we don't estimate our project precisely, then we can't get good human resources. The purpose of this study is to find the way that how to gain excellent human resources now and in the future. The Ministry of National Defense to study US military Acquisition system. Korean military strategy in the situation of the confrontation between South and North Korea and in the situation of the international relationship and the way of constructing the military strength for the future. To improve Acquisition Program of Human Strength, we must develope and assess the future strategic environment of the Korean Peninsula especially Acquisition Program of Human Strength.

  • Defense reform our military for the globalization of information. Scientific command structure, troop structure, unit structure, step-by-step into the power structure while promoting a history of quantitative-oriented structure, and structure of the quality of state-of-the-art technology-driven transition in the middle of the bottle numberplans about the current 3.3-fold increase in reducing the cadre(officers and NCOs). Thus effectively improve the quality of education and the demands of the job analysis, DACUM curriculum development methods and procedures can be applied at the time of urgent need for foster an excellent resource for the discharge of curriculum development at the University of Selected as a core job, career, and job classification configuration inside of Duty according to KST derived from the group reflect on the training courses to meet the requirements in the curriculum through the development of curriculum, job definition, job model set to propose.

  • Rock drop obstacles on major roads in the border area in South Korea has been installed and operated to prevent and block the movement of enemy units. However, the increase in traffic volume due to the development of the border region causes many problems such as road traffic congestion due to rock drop, traffic safety, and impaired urban aesthetics. Therefore, this study aimed to provide guidelines for demolition and replacement facility installation for rock drop obstacles, which are differently applied to each unit, and to suggest the direction of the Ministry of National Defense's policy regarding maintenance cost for necessary rock drop obstacles required for operation. In this study, as part of a guideline study on the removal of rock drop obstacles and the installation of alternative facilities, a standard unit price was suggested for essential rock drop obstacles, so as to be used as judgment data when deciding whether to remove rock drop obstacles.

An Efficient IoT Healthcare Service Management Model of Location Tracking Sensor (위치 추적 센서 기반의 IOT 헬스케어 서비스 관리 모델)

  • As IoT technology has gained the attention all around the world, the development for various services of healthcare, smart city, agriculture, and defense based on IoT is in progress. However, it is likely that healthcare services based on IoT have a problem of being leaked of patients' biological information by a third party and that risks patients' lives. In this paper, an IoT health care service managing model based on location sensor is proposed, which secures the biological information of a patient and simplifies the procedure to process the treatment and administration steps by using the data resources sensed. Even when an emergency occurs, this proposed model can respond quickly using the location information of the patient, which enables the staff in the hospital to locate the patient in real time. In addition, there is an advantage to minimize the time and the process of care, because the location of the equipment for necessary treatment is possible to be instantaneously located with attached sensors.
