Conventional methods like PIN used in conventional smartphone form factor have not considered the variation in display structure or screen size. As a result, when applied to recent variable display-based smartphones, the secret information input unit may get reduced or enlarged, leading to vulnerabilities for social engineering attacks due to deformation of the display area. This study proposes a secure keypad that responds to changes in display size in rollable and bendable smart phones. Firstly, the security problems that may arise when applying classical authentication methods to new form factors were analyzed, and corresponding security requirements were derived. The proposed security keypad addresses the key input error problem that can occur when the screen size is small. The arrangement and size of keys can be deformed with the spacing suitable for input depending on the display size of rollable and bendable smartphones. The study also considered the problem of leaking input information for social engineering attacks by irregularly distributing key input coordinates. The proposed method provides better user experience and security than existing methods and can be used in smartphones of various sizes and shapes.
Mobile e-business is in wide use with the rapid growth of wireless internet users. To meet the growing requests for mobile e-business the productivity of mobile applications has been demanded. The WAPSiteGen, introduced in this paper, automatically generates a 3-tier WAP application that needs a new application database or that already has an application database to increase the productivity. The WAPSiteGen generates the EJB components that handle business logic and the JSP Web components that process user-made queries and the WAP Push feature. For a presentation layer, it also generates the HTML forms for an application manager and the WML decks for end users, which consists of many cards. The WAPSiteGen enhances extendibility, reusability and portability of generated 3-tier applications by comprising such component technologies as EJB and JSP. Furthermore, it supports the WAP Push services for generated applications that provide necessary information to wherever and at whenever a user wants. Since the applications generated by the WAPSiteGen provide the information on an interested entity as well as the information on all the directly or indirectly related entities to the interested one, it shows faster information accessibility. In this paper, we explain the functionality and implementation of the WAPSiteGen and then show its merits by comparing the WAPSiteGen to commercial WAP application generators.

Organosilicone-based surfactants, consisting of hydrophobic organosilicone groups coupled to hydrophilic polar groups, have been widely used in many industrial fields starting from polyurethane foam to construction materials, cosmetics, paints & inks, agrochemicals, etc., because of their low surface tension, lubricity, spreading, water repellency and thermal and chemical stability, resulted from the unique properties of organosilicone. Especially, organosiloxane surfactants, having low molecular weight siloxane as hydrophobe, exhibit low surface tension and excellent wettability and spreadability, leading to their applications as super wetter/super spreader, but have the disadvantage of vulnerability to hydrolysis. A variety of low molecular weight siloxane surfactant structures are required to provide the functional improvement and the defect resolution for reflecting the necessities in the various applications. This review includes the synthetic schemes of reactive tetrasiloxanes and disiloxanes as hydrophobic siloxane backbones, the main reaction schemes, such as hydrosilylation reaction, for coupling reactive tetrasiloxanes or disiloxanes to hydrophilic groups, and the main synthetic schemes of the tetra- and di-siloxane surfactants having polyether-, carbohydrate-, gemini-, bola-type surfactant structures.
Recently many studies to reduce the noise of dental hand piece which generate inevitably mechanical sound to offend to the ear of a patient have been spotlighted. Generally, methods of adding a sound absorbing material inside the exhaust valve, air pump of machine or automobile are widely reported as optimal way to reduce the mechanical noise. In this paper we studied a new UV laser aided manufacturing of micro-porous structure of EPP substrate and applied dental hand piece to improve the efficiency of sound absorption. A lot of micro-sized pores were fabricated with UV laser processing on the surface of sliced EPP substrate. From fundamental experiments, more high-performance of micro-porous EPP substrate has finally demonstrated for sound-absorbing structure of the micro muffler inside dental hand piece, which actually has the excellent potential to apply a lot of potable machine.

Composite lap joints have been extensively used due to their excellent properties and the demand for light structures. However, due to the weak mechanical properties in the thickness direction, the lap joint is easily fractured. various reinforcement methods that delay fracture by dispersing stress concentration have been applied to overcome this problem, such as z-pinning and conventional stitching. The Z-pinning is reinforcement method by inserting metal or carbon pin in the thickness direction of prepreg, and the conventional stitching process is a method of reinforcing the mechanical properties in the thickness direction by intersecting the upper and lower fibers on the preform. I-fiber stitching method is a promising technology that combines the advantages of both z-pinning and the conventional stitching. In this paper, the static and fatigue strengths of the single-lap joints reinforced by the I-fiber stitching process were evaluated. The single-lap joints were fabricated by a co-curing method using an autoclave vacuum bag process and I-fiber reinforcing effects were evaluated according to adherend thickness and stitching angle. From the experiments, the thinner the composite joint specimen, the higher the I-fiber reinforcement effect, and Ifiber stitched single lap joints showed a 52% improvement in failure strength and 118% improvement in fatigue strength.
New results about the crustal structure down to a depth of 60 km beneath North Korea were obtained using the seismic tomography method. About 1013 P- and S-wave travel times from local earthquakes recorded by the Korean stations and the vicinity were used in the research. All earthquakes were relocated on the basis of an algorithm proposed in this study. Parameterization of the velocity structure is realized with a set of nodes distributed in the study volume according to the ray density. 120 nodes located at four depth levels were used to obtain the resulting P- and S-wave velocity structures. As a result, it is found that P- and S-wave velocity anomalies of the Rangnim Massif at depth of 8 km are high and low, respectively, whereas those of the Pyongnam Basin are low up to 24 km. It indicates that the Rangnim Massif contains Archean-early Lower Proterozoic Massif foldings with many faults and fractures which may be saturated with underground water and/or hot springs. On the other hand, the Pyongyang-Sariwon in the Pyongnam Basin is an intraplatform depression which was filled with sediments for the motion of the Upper Proterozoic, Silurian and Upper Paleozoic, and Lower Mesozoic origin. In particular, the high P- and S-wave velocity anomalies are observed at depth of 8, 16, and 24 km beneath Mt. Backdu, indicating that they may be the shallow conduits of the solidified magma bodies, while the low P-and S-wave velocity anomalies at depth of 38 km must be related with the magma chamber of low velocity bodies with partial melting. We also found the Moho discontinuities beneath the Origin Basin including Sari won to be about 55 km deep, whereas those of Mt. Backdu is found to be about 38 km. The high ratio of P-wave velocity/S-wave velocity at Moho suggests that there must be a partial melting body near the boundary of the crust and mantle. Consequently we may well consider Mt. Backdu as a dormant volcano which is holding the intermediate magma chamber near the Moho discontinuity. This study also brought interesting and important findings that there exist some materials with very high P- and S-wave velocity annomoalies at depth of about 40 km near Mt. Myohyang area at the edge of the Rangnim Massif shield.

The potassium cream soap with fatty acid called cleaning foam has a crystal gel structure, and unlike an emulsion system, it is weak to shear stress and shows characteristics that are easily separated under high temperature storage conditions. The crystal gel structure of cleansing foams is significantly influenced by the nature and proportion of fatty acids, degree of neutralization, and the nature and proportion of polyols. In order to investigate the effect of these parameters on the crystal gel structure, a ternary system consisting of water/KOH/fatty acid was investigated in this study. The investigation of differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) revealed that the eutectic point was found at the ratio of myristic acid (MA) : stearic acid (SA) = 3 : 1 and ternary systems were the most stable at the eutectic point. However, the increase in fatty acid content had little effect on stability. On the basis of viscosity and polarized optical microscopy (POM) measurements, the optimum degree of neutralization was found to be about 75%. The system was stable when the melting point (Tm) of the ternary system was higher than the storage temperature and the crystal phase was transferred to lamellar gel phase, but the increase in fatty acid content had little effect on stability. The addition of polyols to the ternary system played an important role in changing the Tm and causing phase transition. The structure of the cleansing foams were confirmed through cryogenic scanning electron microscope (Cryo-SEM), small and wide angle X-ray scattering (SAXS and WAXS) analysis. Since butylene glycol (BG), propylene glycol (PG), and dipropylene glycol (DPG) lowered the Tm and hindered the lamellar gel formation, they were unsuitable for the formation of stable cleansing foam. In contrast, glycerin, PEG-400, and sorbitol increased the Tm, and facilitated the formation of lamellar gel phase, which led to a stable ternary system. Glycerin was found to be the most optimal agent to prepare a cleansing foam with enhanced stability.

Especially, trisiloxane surfactants, having low molecular weight organosilicone as hydrophobe, exhibit low surface tension and excellent wettability and spreadability, leading to their applications as super wetter/super spreader, but have the disadvantage of vulnerability to hydrolysis. Among several fabrication processes of $SiC_f/SiC$ composites, the chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) process has attractive advantages in manufacturing complex net-or near-net-shape components at relatively low temperatures, easily controlling the microstructure of the matrix and obtaining the highest SiC purity level. However, it has disadvantages in that the ratio of residual pores in matrix is higher than other processes and processing time is relatively long. To reduce the residual porosity, the whisker-growing-assisted CVI process, which is composed of whisker growth and matrix filling steps has been developed. The whiskers grown before matrix filling may serve to divide the large natural pores between the fibers or bundles so that the matrix can be effectively filled into the finely divided pores. In this paper, the fundamentals of the CVI process for preparation of $SiC_f/SiC$ composites and some experimental results prepared by CVI and whisker-growing-assisted CVI processes are briefly introduced.
