A Study on the External Fault Performance Evaluation of Grid-Connected Power Conditioning System for Residential Fuel Cell System (가정용 연료전지시스템 계통연계형 전력변환장치의 외부사고 성능평가에 관한 연구)

  • 최근 환경규제가 강화되면서 친환경적인 전력생산 요구 등의 외부환경 변화에 따른 우리나라의 전력구조가 기존의 중압 집중형 발전을 탈피한 분산전원 발전에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있는 실정이다. 특히, 분산전원으로서의 전력생산은 공급의 안전성, 경쟁력 및 에너지의 지속성 등이 요구되어지는데, 재생에너지가 가지고 있는 에너지 지속성의 한계 및 설치의 제약성을 탈피할 수 있는 시스템으로 현재 연료전지시스템이 가장 근접해 있는 실정이다. 즉, 도시가스 인프라가 우수하고 인구조밀 지역이 많은 우리나라의 특성상 각 가정 및 건물에 쉽게 설치하고 공급의 안전성을 갖는 건물용 연료전지는 최근 가장 각광받고 있는 분산전원 시스템 중의 하나이다. 올해부터 모니터링사업의 일환으로 수용가에 설치 될 연료전지 시스템이 얼마나 안정적으로 전기와 열을 각 가정에 공급하고 시스템의 안전성을 확보하는 가는 건물용 연료전지의 분산전원으로서의 가능성 및 국민의 수용성을 증대시키는 중요한 역할을 할 것이다. 연료전지시스템은 상용전력과 연계되어 있기 때문에 시스템의 안정성 뿐만 아니라 상용전력의 변화에 대응하여 안정적인 운전을 하는지에 대한 평가가 필수적이다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 가정용 연료전지시스템의 성능 및 안전성평가의 일환으로 계통연계형 전력변환장치의 성능 및 안전성을 평가 하고자 한다. 연료전지 검사를 위한 계통연계형 전력변환장치의 시험평가 항목으로는 크게 정상특성성능시험, 보호기능성능시험, 과도응답특성성능시험 및 외부사고성능시험 등으로 나뉘어진다. 본 연구에서는 외부사고 성능시험 항목들인 출력측 단락시험, 계통전압 순간정전?순간강하시험 및 부하차단 시험 등을 통하여 외부사고에 대한 성능 및 안전성을 평가하였다. 외부사고 성능시험의 주 목적은 시스템의 이상 운전이 아니라 외부의 영향에 따른 시스템의 안전성 및 전력품질을 평가한다. 출력측 단락시험을 수행하기 위해서 전력변환장치를 정격 출력 전압, 정격 출력 주파수 및 정격 출력에서 운전한 후, 교류 전원장치는 단락 전류를 검출하여, 사고 발생 후 0.3초 이내에 개방하도록 설정하였다. 여기서, 단락 저항 Rsc를 정격 전류의 10배 이상에 해당하는 부하와 같은 값으로 설정하였다. 스위치 SWSC를 폐로하여 단락 상태를 만들며, 이 때 전력변환장치의 출력전류와 차단 또는 정지 시간을 측정하였다. 실험 결과에 대한 판정기준은 단락전류를 검출하여 0.5초 이내에 개폐기 개방 또는 게이트 블록 기능이 동작하여 시스템을 안정하게 정지시키고 시스템 어떤 부위에도 손상이 없어야 한다. 실험 결과 파워컨디셔너의 출력전류 및 차단 또는 정지된시간이 40ms로 나타났고, 출력전류의 파형도 매우 안정함을 볼 수 있었다. 이와 같이 모든 실험을 수행한 결과 외부사고에 대하여 시스템이 안전하게 정지하는 등 연료전지 시스템의 안전성을 확인하였다.

The Application of Nanoliposome Composed of Ceramide as an Anti-irritant in Cosmetics (세라마이드를 구성성분으로 하는 나노리포좀의 응용 - 화장품에서의 자극완화제)

  • The objective of this study is to suggest the potentialities of nanoliposome composed of ceramide as an anti-irritant against various irritants used in cosmetics. Ceramides are major structural components of the epidermal permeability barrier, which is known to play an essential part in human physiology by not only preventing the loss of water from the body but also protecting the body from external physical, chemical, and microbial insults. According to the results, better effects on reinforcement of skin barrier function and anti-irritation were obtained with nanoliposome composed of ceramide than with dispersed ceramide. And, we performed in vitro skin penetration test using horizontal Franz diffusion cells with skin membrane prepared from hairless mouse to evaluate the influence of nanoliposome composed of ceramide on the skin penetration of lactic acid in formulations. From the results, we found that the anti-irritation effects of nanoliposome containing ceramide were due to reduced penetration rate of irritants. Conclusively, we could develop a new anti-irritation system and apply this nanoliposome composed of ceramide to the final cosmetic products successfully.

Modular Building for Urban Disaster Housing: Case Study of Urban Post-Disaster Housing Prototype in New York

  • Disasters that destroy homes and infrastructure and cause significant financial damage are becoming more common as population centers grow. In addition, several natural disasters have resulted in a major loss of life and created countless refugees due to damage to housing. After major catastrophic disasters, it is very important that the government agencies respond to post-disaster housing issues and provide resources such as temporary housing before the full rehabilitation and reconstruction of destroyed and damaged housing. To provide affordable temporary housing for residents who may lose their homes as the result of a catastrophic disaster including storms, government agencies must develop a post-disaster housing prototype. In general, government agencies should explore several different forms of factory-built single-story, single family housing, such as modular homes, panelized homes, and precut homes. In urban cities including New York and Seoul, it is very important to provide housing which supports the demand for higher-density living spaces than single-family homes or trailers typically available due to the high population density and the desire to resettle as many residents as possible in their former neighborhoods. This study identified the urban post-disaster housing prototypes that may provide higher density housing with high quality living spaces, high air quality, and energy efficiency as well as rapid deployment. A case study of "Urban Post-Disaster Housing Prototype Program in New York" was conducted through a detailed interview process with a designer, engineer, contractor, the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) in New York, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and temporary occupants. An appropriate disaster housing program that can provide living spaces for victims of disasters that keeps residents in their community and allows them to live and work in their neighborhoods was developed.

Development of Long-Life Asphalt Pavements Method Using High Modulus Asphalt Mixes (고강성 기층재를 적용한 장수명 아스팔트포장 공법 개발)

  • This study suggests long-life asphalt pavement method which can save maintenance cost by increasing the design and performance period of pavements. The high modulus asphalt binder developed and then various physical tests are performed. Laboratory performance tests and accelerated pavement test are conducted for the high modulus and conventional mixtures. The test results show that dynamic modulus values of high modulus mixtures are higher than those of the conventional mixtures, The high modulus mixtures yield better fatigue, rutting and moisture damage performance than conventional mixtures. Structural analysis is performed and a database is built up for long life asphalt pavement design. Pavement response model is developed through a multiple regression analysis program, SPSS using the database. A design software for the long life pavements is developed based on the pavement response model and laboratory and field performance tests results. In addition, optimum pavement sections and materials are suggested. The suggested AC thickness of long life asphalt pavement is 29cm. A Life cycle cost analysis(LCCA) is conducted to check the economical efficiency of the long life pavement section. The LCCA result shows that initial construction costs of long life and conventional pavements are almost equal, but long life pavement is more profitable in terms of the LCCA.

Effects of Modified ultrafiltration at cardiopulmonary bypass animal experiment. (심폐바이패스 실험동물에서의 변형 초여과법 사용의 효과)

  • 배경: 체외순환 후의 부종현상 및 이에 따른 여러 장치의 기능 저하를 방지하기 위하여, 최근에 체외 순환 이탈 후 환자의 혈액을 짧은 시간에 관류하여 여과해 주는 변형 초여과법의 사용이 늘고 있다. 이에 대한 긍정적인 임상결과들의 보고도 있으나, 다른 한편 체외 순환 후 염증반응을 포함한 폐손상의 기전에 혈구 성분의 영향이 보고되고 있는 바, 변형 초여과법의 효과, 특히 폐 조직에 대한 영향을 밝혀 보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 몸무게 15에서 22 Kg(평균 16.5$\pm$0.5)의 16 쌍의 잡견을 이용한 정소성 심장이식, 실험에서, 통상적인 인공심폐기 작동군과 인공심폐기 작동 후 변형 초여과 관류를 시행한 군으로 무작위 구분하였다. 변형초여과법은 체외순환 정지 후에 대동맥관에서 나온 혈류를 Roller pump를 거쳐 Amicon Diafilter 초여과 관에 150 mL/m 정도의 속도로 10~15 분 정도 관류시켜 정맥관을 통하여 우심방에 직접 주입하였다. 혈액 채취 및 폐생검은 심폐기 시작 전과 정지 직후, 그리고 변형초여과 시행 군은 초여과 완료 직후에, 대조군은 심폐기 정지 10~15분 후에 각각 시행하였다. 혈류역학 측정요소는 동맥압, 우심방압, 좌심방압 등이었으며, 혈액 검사 항목은 동맥혈 가스분석, 혈색소 농도, 헤마토크릿, 백혈구 수, 혈소판 수, 혈중 단백 성분, 알부민 성분 등이었다. 폐 생검 조직으로는 냉동 건조법을 이용한 수분 함유량을 측정하였고, 광학 및 전자현미경으로 관찰을 하였다. 결과: 변형 초여과 군에서 혈중 혈색소 농도는 수술전 10.3$\pm$1.7 mg/dL, 심폐기 정지 직후 6.3$\pm$1.7 mg/dL, 초여과 직후는 8.3$\pm$2.8 mg/dL의 변화를(p=0.0078, 0.0117), 혈중 총 단백질의 농도 변화는 4.3$\pm$0.9, 3.1$\pm$1.5, 4.1$\pm$1.6 mg/dL, 혈중 알부민의 농도는 1.9$\pm$0.5, 1.4$\pm$0.7, 1.8$\pm$0.8 mg/dL로서, 각각 초여과법의 시행 전후에 유의한 증가를 가져왔고(p=0.0280, 0.0277), 폐조직의 수분 함유량의 변화는 수술전 75.1$\pm$8.6%, 심폐기 정지 직후 82.8$\pm$6.0%, 초여과 직후 77.88%를 보인 반면, 대조군에서는 각각 74.7$\pm$4.9, 82.1$\pm$5.9, 82.3$\pm$5.1%의 변화를 보였다. 미세 구조의 관찰에서, 폐포의 내포세피의 융합 기저막층과 미토콘드리아에서의 부종은 변형 초여과 후에 급격히 감소하였으나, 미토콘드리아내 크리스티의 파괴성 변화와 막성 파괴 성향이 초여과 후에 심화되게 관찰되었고, 세포질 내 소체의 팽창과 공포화 현상도 심폐기 가동 후 발생하여 초여과 후에 더 심화되게 관찰되었다. 세포질 내 소체의 팽창과 공포화 현상도 심폐기 가동 후 발생하여 초여과 후에 더 심화되게 관찰되었다. 폐조직 내의 백혈구는 심폐기 작동 후에 그 수에 있어서 증가하였으며 백혈구의 괴변, 탈과립 정도도 심폐기 작동 후 및 초여과 후에 증가한 소견을 보였다. 결론: 변형 초여과법은 인공 심폐기 후의 혈색소 농도 및 혈중 단백질 농도의 복원에 효과가 있었으며 변형 초여과 관류후 폐의 미세 조직내에서 부종의 급격한 감소 등을 관찰할 수 있었다.

Effects of SP3 and GV6 Acupuncture on the STZ-treated Rats for Induction of Diabetes (척중 및 태백의 침자가 Streptozotocin(STZ)으로 유발된 고혈당 생쥐에 미치는 영향)

  • This study has been carried out to understand the effect of SP3 and GV6 acupuncture on the hyperglycemic rat induced with Streptozotocin (STZ). Diabetes was induced in experimental groups by inraperitoneal injection of STZ (50mg/kg of body weight) twice by 24 h interval and the additional 100mg/kg 3 days after the earlier treatment. Control group was treated with tail-non acupoint, and experimental groups were treated SP3, GV6 and SP3+GV6 after hyperglycemic induction for 6 weeks. The body weight of control was lower than the experimental groups. The blood glucose was decreased significantly in the experimental groups. Glucose tolerance in acupuncture treated groups was improved. Blood cholesterol level and transaminase activites were lower in the experimental groups than in the control. In the SP3 or GV6 treated rats, hepatocyte degeneration were apparently decreased and the organelles were properly arranged. Furthermore, decrease in liver IGF-I mRNA expression was improved by the acupuncture in STZ-induced diabetic rats. In conclusion, our observation indicate that SP3 or GV6 acupoints treatment can exert beneficial effects in diabetes, with preservation of ${\beta}-cell$ function and liver function.

Study on the Tensile Strength of Oxidative Permanent Dyed Hair (산화형 영구 염모제로 처리한 모발의 인장강도 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we compared the stress and tensile strength of the hair treated with oxidative permanent dye with those of virgin hair. We investigated the fine structure of the hair section after the tensile test using scanning electron microscopy. The tensile strength of the virgin hair was measured as $14.66\;g/cm^2$, tensile energy was $108\;erg/cm^2$, and the maximum stress was 146.64g. Those of the dyed hair were $13.69\;g/cm^2$, $89.62\;erg/cm^2$ and 136.90 g, respectively. The differences in the tensile strength, the tensile energy and the maximum stress were $-0.97\;g/cm^2$, $-18.38\;erg/cm^2$, -9.74 g, respectively, which showed that the dyed hair had less elasticity and strength than the virgin hair. In the scanning electron microscopy investigation of the damaged hair after the tensile test, lift-off of the cuticle outer layer were shown in both virgin hair and dyed hair, which was more severe in the dyed hair than the virgin hair. Adjacent cuticular cells of the cuticle layer were separated by the destruction of intercellular membrane complex. The macrofibrils were exposed and separated from the cortex torn by tensile strength.

Physiological Properties of Microbial Cells Treated by Pulsed Electric Field(PEF) (고전압 펄스 전기장 처리된 미생물 세포의 생리특성)

  • This study was designed to investigate effects of pulsed electric field (PEF) treatment on physiological changes of microbial cells, using domestically fabricated pilot scale PEF device. The effect of non-thermal PEF treatment on physiological characteristics of microorganisms was determined by salt resistance, the amount of UV absorbents, cell staining, recovery rate of defected cells, and changes in structure of cell membrane. Salt resistance of Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and Rhodotorula minuta was examined after PEF treatment at 40 kV/cm, 84 pulse, $10{\mu}s$ pulse duration. Approximately $1\;log_{10}$ cell number of viable microorganisms was decreased by addition of salt. PEF treatment significantly increased the amount of UV absorbents at 260 and 280 nm because of leakage from damaged cell membrane by PEF treatment. Although three kinds of microorganisms treated by PEF were difficult to be observed due to their cell membrane damage, untreated cells were clearly observed by a microscope. PEF-treated R. minuta was not stained by methylene blue due to cell membrane defect. When E. coli, B. subtilis and R. minuta were cultured after PEF treatment, they showed 5, 4, and 8 hr longer lag phase, respectively, compared to control, but growth rates were not affected.

MARSUPIALIZATION OF RANULA (조대술을 시행한 하마종의 치료)

  • Ranula is a mucosal cyst that occurs in the mouth floor. This is a pseudo cyst caused by mucous retention within the tissue due to the rupture of catheter in the salivary gland. Ranula occurs mainly in a unilateral form and is characterized by painless bluish transparent swelling, with a increasing mass size. If the size is large, it can cause discomfort during swallowing, pronounciation, and mastication, but external swelling and infection is rare. Treatments include observation for spontaneous resolution, simple incision and drainage, marsupialization and excision. Marsupialization done by removing parts of the cyst wall and connecting it to the oral mucosa. It is a conservative procedure and recommended for children. It has advantages such as maintaining outline of oral tissue and less risk of damaging anatomic structure. Recurrence is common, mostly occurring within 4 months after surgery. This case is about a eight-year-old girl with ranula on the right mouth floor. This patient was treated with marsupialization that is one of treatment for ranula, and recurrence was not observed.

Miniscrew Installation Area and Condition on Maxillary Palatal Side (상악구개측 미니스크류 식립위치 및 조건)

  • Anchorage control is important in orthodontic treatment. Recently miniscrew is widly used as maximum anchorage in orthodontic treatment, and then it is important to install miniscrew safely without damaging adjacent anatomic structure. In a view of Miniscrew's stability, maxilla is unfavorable than mandible, and moreover maxillary soft buccal bone has disadvantage on stability. so palatal area comes into notice for installation area. We measured distance between palatal roots and bone thickness at midpalatal area using 3D computed tomography, and have found following results. 1. On the comparison of distance between palatal roots, the distance between 2nd premolar and 1st molar was significantly longest and the distance between premolars was significantly shortest. 2. Going toward lateral area from midpalatal suture and posterior area from zero point, bone thickness significantly became shorter and shorter. And 5.0mm palatal sagittal plane has more significance decrease of bone thickness than 2.5mm palatal sagittal plane. According to these results, we can conclude that the palatal installation of miniscrew between 2nd premolar and 1st molar is safest. And it is more safe that comes closer to midpalatal suture and to anterior area in regard to incisive canal.
