Stability Test of Stone Mattress Method by Real-scale Hydraulic Experiment (스톤매트리스 공법의 실규모 수리 안정성 실험)

  • 호안은 유수로부터 제방과 하안을 보호하는 구조물로 태풍 또는 집중호우로 인한 홍수로부터의 안정성이 확보되어야 한다. 적정한 호안공법 또는 제품의 선정을 위해서는 유속, 소류력 등이 반영된 수리 안정성 검토가 필요하나 현재 국내에는 이와 관련한 객관적인 평가나 시험 기준이 제시되어있지 않기 때문에 국내에서는 실제 수리실험을 통한 호안제품 및 공법의 수리학적 안정성을 제공하는 경우는 찾아보기 어려운 것이 현실이다. 본 연구는 호안공법 중 친환경적 재료를 사용하여 개발된 스톤매트리스 호안공법의 수리적 안정성을 검토하기 위해 수행되었다. 스톤매트리스 공법은 상부망과 하부망의 체결을 통해 돌을 군체로 일체화 시킴으로써 치수 안정성이 매우 뛰어나며, 충분한 식생공간을 확보한 공법으로 재료의 2차 변형 방지가 가능하며 안전한 군체 유지가 가능한 공법이다. 이러한 공법에 대한 안정성 검토를 위한 실규모 실험은 안동 하천연구센터에서 수행하였다. 실험에 사용된 수로는 8°의 경사를 갖는 급경사수로에서 수행되었다. 수로의 제원은 폭 3m, 길이 30m 의 직사각형 형태의 직선수로로 이루어져 있다. 시험체는 실규모로 제작되며 2m × 10m 의 제원을 갖는 별도의 트레이에 시공되어 실험시 크레인을 이용하여 실험수로에 안착시킨다. 수리 안정성 실험은 실험대상유량을 단계별로 나누어 점차적으로 증가시키며, 시험체의 이탈, 파괴 등의 큰 변화가 발생하였을 경우 실험을 종료한다. 수리량 측정은 유속측정, 수위관측 등으로 이루어지며, 재료의 변형은 3D스캐너를 이용하여 변위를 검토하였다. 총 3회에 걸친 실험결과 실험수로에서 발생가능한 최대유량인 4.34cms 조건에서 실험체 바닥에서의 소류력은 약 300N/m2 의 소류력이 발생하는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 재료의 수직변위는 최대 1.8mm로 계측기 오차범위에 근접한 수치를 보이는 것으로 실험체의 이동이나 석재의 파손은 발생하지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

  • 무기물 양자점을 광감응 염료로 사용하는 경우 양자점의 사이즈 조절만으로 밴드갭을 조절할 수 있어 광학적 특성 조절이 용이하며, 유기 염료보다 광흡수 능력이 뛰어난 장점을 가진다. 특히 카드뮴 계열의 CdS, CdSe 양자점을 순차적으로 증착하여 사용하는 경우 가시광 전 영역을 효율적으로 흡수, 이용할 수 있어 광전기화학 셀의 광전극으로 사용 시 높은 성능을 기대할 수 있다. 하지만, 카드뮴 계열 양자점의 경우 광전기화학 셀로의 구동에 있어 안정성이 낮은 문제점이 있으며, 이는 양자점에 남아있는 정공이 관여하는 양자점 부식 반응으로 인한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 보다 안정적이면서도 고효율의 광전기화학적 수소생산 시스템을 위해, CdSe/CdS 양자점 감응형 ZnO 나노선 광전극에 IrO2 촉매물질을 증착하였다. CdSe/CdS 양자점이 가시광 전 영역을 흡수하며, ZnO 나노선 구조를 통해 생성된 광전자를 효율적으로 포집하여 높은 광전류 특성을 기대할 수 있다. 나아가 산소생산용 조촉매로 많이 사용하는 $IrO_2$ 촉매 물질의 추가증착을 통해 양자점에서 생긴 정공을 빼 줌으로서 정공이 관여하는 양자점 부식 반응을 방지할 수 있다. 실험결과 촉매물질의 증착 이후 광전류 생성 특성 및 수소생산량이 증가하였으며, 안정성 또한 상당히 향상된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • It is important that the gas collected from wells completed in waste landfill should be continuously and stably transported to pre-treatment stage through pipelines. The transport is generally affected by fluid flow characteristics of landfill, gas reserves, leachate moisture holdup in pipeline, structures and dimensions of pipeline network, etc. This paper analyzes the pipeline transport and collection mechanism for gas generated in a durable waste landfill. From the results, the optimal controlled scheme of blower inlet pressure is proposed for the prevention of trapped gas pocket zones.

Effects of Geological Structures on Slope Stability : An Example from the Northwestern Part of Daegu, Korea (퇴적암 내의 지질구조가 비탈면 안정성에 미치는 영향 : 대구 북서부 지역의 예)

  • The purpose of this work is to gain a better understanding of the interrelationships between geological structures and slope failure in sedimentary rocks. In the studied slopes, construction-related slope failure could only be observed on the south-dipping slopes. This indicates that slope stability may be dependent on the angular relationships between the dip direction of bedding and the orientation of the slope. Slope failure continued, post-construction, around large fault zones in the studied outcrop; these fault damage zones are, however, not easily recognized in the field. Here we suggest a new method that uses accumulated fracture density to precisely identify fault damage zones. Multiple-faced slopes are now increasingly being exposed during large-scale construction projects in South Korea. This multiple-faced slope analysis indicates that the stability of a slope should be evaluated by identifying domains, through the analysis of possible slopes and their angular relationships with bedding and other discontinuities, prior to construction. Therefore, careful consideration of geological structures such as bedding and other discontinuities, and their angular relationships during the design of cuttings through sedimentary rocks, will increase the efficiency of construction and enable the safe construction of more stable slopes that will retain their stability after construction.

  • 최근에 선박의 도킹해석은 3차원 전선 구조 해석을 통해 수행되어 왔으나 도킹해석 모델을 구성하는데 많은 시간과 노력이 필요하였다. 전선구조해석 모벨을 만들기 위해 필요한 선박구조 도면이 완성되기 전인 초기 설계단계에서 도킹시 반목배치를 조기에 확정하고, 구조 안정성을 확보하기 위한 노력이 요구되어 왔기 때문에 간이화된 도킹 해석 프로그램을 개발하게 되었다. 2차원 격자구조를 이용한 도킹해석기법을 통해 얻은 반목에서의 지지력이 3차원 전선해석모델을 사용하여 얻은 반목에서의 반력 결과와 비교해 타당한 결과를 보여 주고 있음을 확인하였다. 간이화된 도킹용 해석 프로그램을 개발하였으며, 다음과 같은 기능을 갖추어 사용자가 쉽게 격자 구조 모델을 생생하고 해석을 수행할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 향후 각 요소의 단면 특성치를 자동으로 산정하는 기능이 추가되어야 한다. 그리고 부유식 도크(Floating dock)에서의 도킹해석은 본 개발의 대상이 된 건식 도크(Dry dock)에서의 경우와 다른 고려사항이 추가되어야 하기 때문에 향후 추가적인 연구와 개발을 통해 새로운 기능으로 포함될 것이다.

Evaluation of Structural Integrity of Aircraft External Fuel Tank for Separation Loads (분리하중에 대한 항공기용 외부연료탱크 구조 건전성 평가)

  • The external fuel tank of an aircraft is a main component that can increase the cruising range of the aircraft. It must be able to be stably separated from the pylon in an emergency situation. At this time, a separation load is applied to the fin and the pivot of the external fuel tank. To stably separate the external fuel tank, the structural soundness of the fin and the pivot must be confirmed. In this study, structural tests were conducted to verify the structural integrity of the external fuel tank pin and pivot when the external fuel tank was separated from the aircraft. Results are then presented. In this paper, a test configuration diagram consisting of the hydraulic and load control equipment, data acquisition system, and pneumatic supply unit used in the structural test was explained. Test installation and test load application plan for each test condition were provided. As results of the structural test, it was found that test load and internal pressure of the test specimen were properly controlled within the allowable range in each test. It was confirmed that serious structural defects in the test specimen did not occur under required load conditions. In conclusion, through structural test for design limit load and design ultimate load, it was proven that the fin and pivot of the external fuel tank for aircraft covered in this study had sufficient structural strength.

Robust Digital Redesign for Observer-based System (관측기 기반 시스템에 대한 강인 디지털 재설계)

  • In this paper, we presents robust digital redesign (DR) method for observer-based linear time-invariant (LTI) system. The term of DR involves converting an analog controller into an equivalent digital one by considering two condition: state-matching and stability. The design problems viewed as a convex optimization problem that we minimize the error of the norm bounds between interpolated linear operators to be matched. Also, by using the bilinear and inverse bilinear approximation method, we analyzed the uncertain parts of given observer-based system more precisely, When a sampling period is sufficiently small, the conversion of a analog structured uncertain system to an equivalent discrete-time system have proper reason. Sufficiently conditions for the state-matching of the digitally controlled system are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).

Conformational Analyses for Hydrated Oligopeptides by Quantum Chemical Calculation (양자화학적 계산에 의한 올리고펩티드 수화물의 구조분석)

  • The structures and energies of the anhydrate and hydrate (hydrate rate: h of 1) states of L-alanine (LA) and glycine (G) were calculated by quantum chemical calculations (QCCs) using B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) for four types of conformers (${\beta}$-extended: ${\Phi}/{\Psi}=t-/t+$, $PP_{II}$: g-/t+, $PP_{II}$-like: g-/g+, and ${\alpha}$-helix: g-/g-). In LA and G, which have an imino proton (NH), three conformation types of ${\beta}$-extended, $PP_{II}$-like, and ${\alpha}$-helix were obtained, and water molecules were inserted mainly between the intra-molecular hydrogen bond of $CO{\cdots}HN$ in $PP_{II}$-like and ${\alpha}$-helix, and attached to the CO group in ${\beta}$-extended. In LA and G, $PP_{II}$-like conformers were most stable in the anhydrate and hydrate states, and the result for LA was different from some experimental and theoretical results from other studies reporting that the main stable conformation of alanine oligopeptide was $PP_{II}$. The formation pattern and stability of the conformation of the oligopeptide was strongly dominated by the presence/absence of intra-molecular hydrogen bonding of $CO{\cdots}HN$, or the presence/absence of an $NH_2$ group in the starting amino acid.

The Stability Assessment of ASSM Tunnels in Service (공용중인 ASSM 터널의 안정성 평가)

  • The need of securing the stability and extending service lives by efficient maintenance of deteriorated tunnels for several decades has been increased. The stability and the usability of conventional tunnels can be decreased by change of physical properties of the surrounding ground, geometrical properties of the tunnel, an underground water level, environmental conditions, oxidation of lining and the breakdown of constituent materials. In respect of a long-term view, it is need to check all sorts of degradation, the degree of damage and durability to improve the serviceability and to come up with measures to maintain effectively. This paper is about study to analyze the stability of conventional tunnels(American Steel Support Method. ASSM). Three tunnels are chosen in those built in the 1930s and 1960s and the locations of tunnels are selected variously(ChungCheong, GyungBuk, GangWon, Jeolla, etc.) to secure reliability of this study. The state of repair and reinforcement of linings, cracks, and thickness and strength of lining of conventional tunnels in service are researched, compared and analyzed. The crack gauge, the GPR, the schmitt hammer was used for the crack investigation, cavitation, the strength respectively. By using these, the comparative analysis for conventional tunnels was conducted. As a result, there are more cracks in tunnels built in the 1930s than those of tunnels built in the 1960s, and lining strength of the 1930s is higher than those of the 1960s. The thickness of lining in tunnels built in the 1960s is higher than those in tunnels built in the 1930s. In proportion to thickness, cavitation occurred more frequently in tunnels built in the 1960s compared to those in tunnels built in the 1930s.

Thermal Stability Test Evaluation of Applying the Artificial-Crack of Water-Leakage Repair Materials Used in the Maintenance of Concrete Structure (콘크리트 구조물의 유지보수에 사용되는 누수보수재료의 인공 균열을 이용한 온도 안정성 시험평가)

  • This study is about the method to control the quality of material used to repair leakage and crack of concrete structure and suggests the "Temperature Stability Test Method" as a follow-up study. In the result of performance evaluation for 45 samples of 15 types in 5 series, the temperature stability test showed different material changes including rolling down, volume change, and color change as they are frozen and melt repeatedly in the somewhat extreme conditions at low($-20^{\circ}C$) and high($60^{\circ}C$) temperatures, where 13 samples (approx. 29%) and 32 samples (approx. 71%) showed leakage, respectively, in the permeability test to evaluate leakage. This result shows the enough importance of setting the quality control criteria of leakage repair material currently used to maintain concrete structures considering the temperature conditions, and proves the applicability of the Temperature Stability Test Method as a standard test method to ensure long-term durability of concrete structure.
