Spudsville: Designing a Minecraft Game for learning teaching English as a Second Language (스퍼드빌: 제2언어로서의 영어학습을 위한 마인크래프트 게임 설계)

  • The aim of this study is to design Spudsville, an immersive game environment in Minecraft that can effectively help learners acquire the English language. To create a successful learning experience using Minecraft, the researchers adopted the Agile Model and the Design Thinking approach. The researchers first conducted an analysis through an extensive literature review in order to assess the learners' needs. Afterwards, they designed and developed a Minecraft world based on the data collected during the analysis phase. The researchers learned that implementing constructivist and behaviorist approaches has benefits, even though applying a cognitivist-learning model to Spudsville could have provided the researchers with more insight on how learner processes information. Making these adjustments could improve Spudsville's effectiveness and could potentially help the ways in which gamified learning aids with language acquisition.

  • 최근 인공지능연구에서는 기호즈의와 커넥션니즘이 독립적으로 연구되어 왔으나 차츰 융합의 필요성이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 기호주의의 일부분인 고전논리를 확장한 다치논리와 커넥션니즘의 기본부분인 신경회로망을 융합한 다치신경망을 구성하고, BP에 기반을 둔 학습 MVL 네트워크를 이용하여 해석한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 구성 및 해석방법을 확장하여 비고전적인 다치신경회로망을 구성하는 방법을 제안한다.

  • As the computer and the communication technology are an unity, the collaborative learning based on constructivism is emphasized more than learning by forming external representation. Especially, online has characteristics not only to facilitate collaborative activities but to make students collaborators. In online collaborative learning, learning task is an integrated element in course design and an important portion deciding learning design, learning environment and learning process. Thus this study explored collaborative learning model according to the learning task type.

A Case Study on the Influence of Science Education Courses on Pre-service Chemistry Teachers' View of Learning (예비화학교사가 수강한 과학교육 과목이 학습관에 미치는 영향에 관한 사례연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze pre-service chemistry teachers' view of learning focused on the influence of science education courses that pre-service chemistry teachers had learned. Three pre-service chemistry teachers were selected for this study. Documents related to science education courses, survey data about their view of learning and interview data were collected, transcribed and analyzed. According to this study, pre-service chemistry teachers had changed, modified, maintained and strengthened their view of learning while they took the science education courses. Pre-service teacher K and P had changed their traditional view to the constructive view and then had modified their view by adding the reality. And pre-service teacher H had modified his constructive view with some traditional view. All Pre-service teachers had modified their own view of learning because of the science education course that emphasized the real field situation. As discussed above, science education courses focused on the applying the theory to real teaching situation gave the opportunity to modify pre-service teachers' own view of learning. It implied that the science education courses learned in the teachers college have to include contents based on real teaching situation and pre-service teachers' reflective thinking processes for establishing their view of learning and customized teaching activities.

The Effect of Problem Based Learning on Academic Achievement and Mathematical Attitudes of the Middle and High Class Students (문제중심학습이 중.상위권 학생의 학업 성취도 및 수학적 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • Although Korea students have been showed the top academic achievement in the international evaluation test for mathematics academic achievement, they have the low confidence, low interest and unwelcome attention about mathematics. In order to change student's affective aspects about mathematics, we introduced the problem based learning(PBL) method which is based on constructivist learning theories. By applying PBL to the middle and high class students, we investigated the effect of PBL on the students' academic achievement and mathematical attitudes. The study shows that there are the statistically significant differences between a control group and a comparison group both in academic achievement and mathematical attitudes.

  • We have many difficult problems to efficient development and management of a Web-based education system because of the various requirements of various demanders. A Web-based education system consists of instructors and operation managers of system and learners. Those three factors are the most important e]ements of a Web-based education system and we must consider those elements for design and development. In constructivist approach. acquiring knowledge is made by experiences among each members or elements. So we can say that the constructivist elements of a Web-based education system is learners and instructors, operation managers. In this study, we design and implement a Web-based education system, based on the interactions of extended demanders of Web-based education system in constructivist approach and object oriented modeling. In this study we can improve portability and reduce cost because of platform independence from presented system. And in experiment, we compare and analyse two platform web-based education system a point of effectiveness, cost, convenience.

  • 본 연구는 지리교육의 내용 선정과 조직에 대한 기초 연구로써, 우리나라 제 7차 사회과 규과정에서 명시하고 있는 지리교육의 방향, 내용 및 조직을 분석하고 뉴욕주의 2000년 에 제시된 그것과 비교하였다. 우리나라와 미국의 지리교육의 내용과 조직에 대한 연구는 양국의 교육과정 개발 관점에 대한 분석과 더불어 현대 사회에서 교과로써 경쟁력을 갖춘 지리교육의 방향 및 지리적 지식의 성격에 대한 논의를 바탕으로 한다. 뉴욕주의 지리교육은 <기본으로의 복귀> 분위기 속에서 지리교육에서 학습해야 할 6가지 핵심 요소를 추출하고 그에 따라 내용을 체계화한 반면 우리 나라의 경우 한국과 세계의 지역지리, 계통 지리의 내용을 나열적으로 학습하도록 하였다. 그러나 백과사전식 내용 구성은 정보화 사회에서 지리교육의 역할을 스스로 축소시키고 지리교육에 대한 학생의 관심과 흥미를 감소시키는 결과를 초래한다. 미국 뉴욕주의 지리 내용과 조직은 우리나라 지리교육과정의 내용 구성 방향에 많은 시사점을 줄 수 있다. 지리교육의 생장력을 키우기 위한 지리 내용은 현대 사회 및 학습자의 요구와 지리학의 경향과 쟁점에 근거하여 그 핵심 요소가 선정되어야 하고, 지역적 방법과 계통적 방법을 적절하게 결함시켜 역동적이고 흥미있게 조직되어야 한다.되어야 한다.

  • The present education situations are rapidly changing to adapt to 'the Knowledge & Information-based Society'. Especially, the implementation of 'the 7th National Curriculum' put strong emphasis on the learner-centered education that refers to the ability grouping. Therefore, it is necessary that the change from a traditional teaching method to a learner-centered one in geography education will take place. This study will present a design of geography ability grouping through the Task-Solving Learning. This ability grouping method is suitable for the large class. And this study also presents a strategy by applying WBI, which make use of the advantage of computer and constructivism. This WBI model can be applied properly to many teaching-learning methods that includes Self-Directed Learning, Collaborate Learning, Ability Grouping, and Applying ICT Instruction. Actually they are demanded in the current education. A geography-classroom will have an accessible internet program as a precondition for this instruction.

  • 정보화 시대의 요구에 대한 교육적 대응은 학습자 중심의 교육이며, 정보통신기술을 기반으로 한 원격교육이다. 특히 인터넷에서 가장 활발하게 사용되고 있는 웹은 그 특성상 구성주의 학습 원리를 실현하는데 적절한 환경을 제공하고 있으며, 교육 시스템의 변화를 가져오고 있다. WBI(Web Based Instruction)는 웹을 매체로 활용하여 원거리에 있는 학습자를 교육시키는 형태로서 교수자와 학습자간 상호작용을 가능하게 하고 다양한 형태의 학습자료를 제공하며, 공간적 제약을 극복할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 웹에 기반한 교육적 활용의 한 모델로서 학습자의 자기 주도적이고 적극적인 학습을 촉진하기 위한 자기 주도적 학습이론과 학습자의 개인차를 고려한 수준별 학습이론을 적용하여 효율적인 웹 기반 학습이 가능하도록 하였으며 이러한 학습이론을 웹에 기반한 정보처리 기능사 필기시험에 적용함으로써 실업계 고등학교 교육현장의 비효율성과 기존의 문제은행 시스템의 문제점을 보완하여 시험준비에 보다 효율적으로 대비하도록 설계 및 구현하였다.
