  • Korea, the traffic and transportation problems are significant because private cars are increasing constantly. Therefore, it is imperative to improve traffic condition so as to solve the problems such as traffic congestion and accidents which may occur due to the increase of vehicles in a limited area through the signal control. However, the current operating system for traffic control cannot provide car users the optimal signal but it generates a time delay of vehicles, traffic congestions etc. In this paper, we propose and implement the system based on V2X based automatic controller, which reduces the waste of time and the driver's psychological stress on the road intersection.

A Study on the Socio-economic Direct Effects of the Opening of the Gyeongbu Expressway for 50 Years (경부고속도로 개통 50년의 사회경제적 직접효과 평가 연구)

  • This study quantitatively derived the direct socio-economic effects of the Gyeongbu Expressway, which opened in 1970, and suggested a methodological approach for more reliable results. The scenario was set when the Gyeongbu Expressway was not constructed in 1970, the opening of the Gyeongbu Expressway was delayed by 10 years, and the toll road between Seoul and Daejeon, or between Seoul and Gangneung was opened instead of the Gyeongbu Expressway as suggested by the World Bank. In addition, direct benefits were estimated by calculating and comparing the current vehicle operating costs, travel time costs, traffic accident costs, and environmental pollution costs. As a result, it was estimated that about 351 trillion won in direct benefits occurred, and it can be seen that the promotion of the construction project of the Gyeongbu Expressway at that time had a huge impact on South Korea's social economy.

  • In this paper, the performance of ad-hoc wireless network protocols is analyzed under the vehicular communication environments. We estimate the throughput and delay of the protocols with packet sizes and various data traffics in expressways and metropolis by using QualNet simulator. It turns out that the performance of DSR protocol is better in expressways and the performance of AODV works well in metropolitan areas. Therefore, it is necessary that the proper protocols should be selected to provide the better performance according to the vehicular communication environments.

  • This paper proposes drivers' rational belief formation under a bounded traffic environment. This is to escape the criticism that excessive rationality (e.g., a driver's calculating ability and memory capacity) is required of drivers. Under bounded traffic environments. drivers do not have structural knowledge of traffic conditions and others' decisions. Simulations are carried out using a program coded in C. Consequently, the author found the learning process of drivers and the value of information can be differentiated by route conditions and the characteristics of driver groups. Also, it was found that rational drivers form different beliefs about traffic conditions even though they have the same traffic environment in a bounded traffic environment.

  • Current traffic information is collected through a loop detector or an image detector. This method is influenced by weather and time, so a traffic information generation system is needed to replace it. A system for generating traffic information using a smartphone in a vehicle is proposed and the performance of the proposed method is verified through the collection rate and the travel time error rate obtained through field tests. In addition, we propose an algorithm for generating intersection traffic information for each direction of rotation, suggest ways to increase the amount of valid information, and confirm the results.

  • Traffic intersection conrol is implemented by the data which is acquired to vechile Loop detector. Traffic intersection control equation is Webster equation, which use passing and delayed vechile number. But webster equation is applied to the spot traffic intersection, it is not used to related traffic intersection network system. There is not the approprate remote traffic intersection control, even if there is, it is high cost local network system. Therefore low cost and expert traffic intersection control is realized by internet referencing next and distant intersection traffic information.

  • In this paper, we propose the system structure and technologies to implement a business model for an intelligent traffic facility management system based on ubiquitous technology. The business model includes the service functions, service structure, business process, and demand and supply relationship among the participants in this model. We also propose an approach to implementing the model. This includes the network, infrastructure and platform to be used for system composition. We then present the results from an analysis by comparison of different technologies and an adequate technology structure. Finally, this paper may present guidelines to managing traffic facilities.

  • 본 연구에서는 카메라의 촬영 시점에 의해서 발생되는 원근감이 광학 흐름 생성에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 살펴보고 광학 흐름 기반 이상행동 탐지 솔루션의 성능을 고도화하기 위해 기존 광학 흐름 영상으로부터 소실점 기반 가중치 행렬을 계산하여 원근감에 따른 광학 흐름 정도를 평활하는 기법에 대해서 연구한다. 카메라의 뷰포인트에 따라 원근감의 발생 정도나 객체의 크기 및 움직임의 정도가 달라지게 되며, 이는 원본 영상 프레임을 광학 흐름의 크기와 방향성으로 표현하는 영상 변환 네트워크를 가진 생성적 적대 신경망을 학습할 때 정상적인 행동 패턴의 범위를 결정짓는 데 방해가 될 수 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 데이터셋의 배경으로부터 소실점을 추출하고 원근감에 따라 결정되는 광학 흐름의 크기를 평활하는 기법을 개발하여 기존 모델의 성능과 비교하였으며, 프레임 단위의 정확도 성능이 5.75% 향상된 것으로 확인되었다.
