The purpose of this study was to examine the validity of Multiple Intelligence Scales for Young Korean Children (MIS-YKC). Participants of this study were 357 children's parents and teachers from Seoul, Gyeongdo, Jeonlado & Choongchungdo. Data were analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson's r and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. Results are as follows. (1) Confirmatory factor analysis of MIS-YKC for parents MIS-YKC revealed that fit indices such as $X^2$=365.712 (df=168, p=.000), RMSEA=.057, SRMR=.047, NNFI=.935, CFI=.948. and MIS-KYC by teacher's evaluation $X^2$=436.765 (df=168, p=.000), RMSEA=.066, SRMR=.051, NNFI=.917, CFI=.934. (2) Correlations between multiple intelligence scales and IQ were significant. (3) Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ ranged from .80 and .86 for seven intelligence scales and .95 for the total scale by parents' evaluation. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ is ranged from .76 and .91 for seven intelligence scales and .95 for the total scale by teacher's evaluation. All these results show that the multiple intelligence scales for young Korean children parents and teachers are quite reliable and valid.
The purpose of this study was to examine the validity of the Teacher's Scale for Gifted Preschool Children(TSGPC). Participation of this study were 357 preschool children and their parents and teachers from Seoul, Ulsan, Daegy, Gwangiu & Daejeon. Data were analyzed by exploratory factor analysis, Pearson's r, t-test and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. Results are as follows. (1) exploratory factor analysis of TSGPC revealed that a 5-factor solution (academic ability, creativity, task commitment, artistic talent, and leadership) was the best fit. (2) Correlations between TSGPC and parental rating scale for young children's giftedness were significant. (3) Scores of TSGPC between gifted children and general children were significantly different (4) Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ ranged from .82 and .91 for subscale of TSGPC and .93 for the total scale. These results show that the Teacher's Scale for Gifted Preschool Children is quite reliable and valid measure.
This study validates an abridged version of the age integration scale by Chung et al. (2015), which constitutes sub-dimensions of age flexibility and age heterogeneity-from Riley et al. (1994)-and observes disparities in the perception of age integration among different socio-cultural characteristics. This study analyzed 1,433 people in the "Age Integration and Generation Integration Survey" data, with the support of the Social Science Competency Enhancement Project (SSK) (supported by the Korea Research Foundation). This paper analyzed the data using exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, multiple-group factor analysis, and a compare means test. The results are as follows. First, the scale was abridged to 13 items from 28, of which eight items concern age heterogeneity and five concern age flexibility. Second, the multi-group analysis did not show a significant difference among younger, middle, and older age groups, therefore allowing the scale to be used among all age groups. Third, when sociocultural characteristics were observed, younger adults showed differences in their levels of age integration, age heterogeneity, and age flexibility regarding their residential area. Middle-aged adults showed dif f erences in their levels of age integration, age heterogeneity, and age flexibility regarding their residential area and social status. Older adults showed differences in their level of age integration regarding their residential area, education level, and social status. They also showed differences in the level of age flexibility regarding their residential area and social status and differences in the level of age heterogeneity regarding their residential area and education. Based on the results of the study, political and practical measures to promote perception on age integration in the future were suggested.
This study was intended to verify that the Revised PAI-A scale reflected the internalization and externalization classification of adolescence problem behavior. For this purpose, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted using PAI-A restandardization data. In addition, 31 Revised PAI-A sub-scales and SUI scale were used to identify the detailed factor structures. As a result of the analysis, the classification of internalization and externalization factors was similar to that of previous studies. In detail, the sub-scales of ANX·DEP and SUI were classified into internalization, the sub-scales of ANT and AGG were classified into externalization. It is noteworthy that each sub-scale of PAI-A was separated into internalization or externalization. For example, BOR-A, BOR-I, and BOR-N were loaded into internalization, but BOR-S into externalization. Next, in order to confirm whether the structure of the derived internalization and externalization factors can be applied to new samples, 350 samples were randomly extracted and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted, but exclusive of the samples used for exploratory factor analysis. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, the appropriate indices of internalization and externalization classification was close to the good level. Therefore, the Revised PAI-A scales have theoretical relevance to internalization and externalization classification of problem behaviors. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that it can be used helpfully in the school settings in the future. Finally, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.

This paper is concerned with evaluating the fidelity of a non-cognitive test adaptation for use in multiple languages and cultures using two differential item functioning(DIF) techniques: (a) PSIBTEST, and (b) Logistic Discriminant Function Analysis(LDFA). In particular, this study focused on how DIF research can best be extended to the problem of evaluating the equivalence of tests across cultures and languages. The Sixteen Personality Factor (16PF) questionnaire was administered in English to 844 American college students and in Korean to 538 Korean college students. This study attempted to identify the best matching criterion for the translated tests by using both a multivariate matching technique and iterative purification process. The results generally showed a small number of DIF items on each scale, except for scales A and N where about half of the items showed DIF. The choice of matching variables based on a combination of internal measures appeared to have little effect and the iterative purification method was unsuccessful. Finally, the results were discussed and methodological implications were also presented.

Background: The purpose of this study is to develop a short form of the normal depression scale for individual use in the school, health, industry, organization, and counseling settings, based on the original normal depression scale (17 items). Methods: To achieve this purpose, we selected five items from the original test and analyzed data using Mplus 7.4 and SPSS 21.0. Results: The normal depression scale-short form consists of 5 items. The reliability of the short form (test-retest reliability) was good. The content validity and internal structure validity (1 factor model) were verified. The cut score between normal and dysfunctional depression was determined to be 18. Conclusions: The normal depression scale-short form for individual screening is verified to have good reliability and validity, so it is expected to be useful to perform quick screening of normal depression in the practical settings.
This Convergence study aimed to analyze the oral health education, oral health awareness and oral health knowledge of early childhood education' students. Questionnaire survey on the of five universities early childhood education' 314 students in Daegu and Gyeongbuk provinces. Average score of oral health awareness was 3.62, which was high female students, 3rd grade, athlete, high case on oral health condition perception and childhood oral health education experience. Oral health knowledge correct answer of 15 items was average 9.63, which was higher female students, 3rd grade, nonsmokers, have received childhood oral health education, responded to the need for childhood oral health education. Regression analysis showed that Y (oral health awareness) = 2.350 + 0.242 (exercise) +0.387 (oral health education) +0.134 (childhood oral health education experience) +0.067 (oral health knowledge). In order to promote infants oral health of department of Early Childhood Education, it would be necessary to develop the systematic programs to perform the childhood oral health education.

This study aims to develop a family strength scale for dual-earner families with young children. Based on existing theories of family strength and a review of related literature, we draw on 80 items to measure the strength of dual-earner families. Using a sample of 747 people, all members of dual-earner families with young children, we examined the items' factor structures. Using the statistical method, we checked the validity and reliability of these items. The final scale consisted of four domains with a total of 49 items : basic foundation (basic structure, economic life, and resource management), parenting, social interest and participation (citizenship, volunteer, leisure, network), work-life balance (balance between work and family, sharing the family role, equal division of role). The developed scale can be used in the field, such as in the Healthy Family Support Center or Family Center, in the context of education, counseling, or consulting for dual-earner families. In order to enhance the usefulness and efficiency of the scale, the adequate education system for the professionals who handle this scale in the field and updated data are required.
This study is aimed at validation of the Korean Version of the Perfectionism Inventory which was developed by Hill et al.(2004). To do so, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis with 167 science high school and 161 middle school gifted students were conducted. It appeared 6 factor structure consisting of 'Self-Evaluative Perfection Strivings', 'Parental Pressure', 'Planfulness', 'Striving for Excellence', 'High Standards for Others', and 'Organization', which does not support 8 factor of the original scale. As a result, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ ranged from .78 to .92 for subscale of PI and .93 for the total scale. The fit of measurement model was found to be ${\chi}^2=1257.618$ (df=792, p=.00), TLI=.903, CFI=.911, RMSEA=.047, indicating most of fit indexes were acceptable. Also, the validity of the scale was examined by the correlations between the PI and MPS. PI Korean version is significant to confirm the factor structure and validity of perfectionism which was influenced by characteristics of gifted students and Korean culture. These results show that the PI is quite reliable and valid tool for measuring perfectionism for gifted students.
Background: This study was designed to investigate the effects of usual negative emotional experiences on biological aging progression of human. Methods: A total of 237 subjects who visited the Health Promotion Center at Chungnam National University Hospital from May 2013 through September 2013 was enrolled. Each subject had been drawn up a structured questionnaire about usual experiences of depression, anxiety, anger, and anger expression. The degree of biological aging progression of each subject was computed by a specific formula which consisted of chronological age and biological age reflecting obesity and aging of main organs. Results: Trait anger and low education level showed the significant correlations with biological aging (r=0.160, P=0.014, and r=-0.189, P=0.024, respectively). Trait anger and low education level solely displayed the significant $R^2s$ for biological aging in consequence of multivariate analyses; $R^2=0.044$, P=0.020, and $R^2=0.022$, P=0.038, respectively. Conclusions: This study suggests that the significant relationship between usual anger experience (i.e., trait anger) and biological aging would be present. In addition, lower education level may be related with biological aging.
