Exploring the Motivational Factors Influencing on Learner Participation of Adult Learners in e-Learning (성인학습자의 이러닝 학습참여에 대한 학습동기 요인 연구)

  • Since e-learning is conducted based on the learner's autonomy, motivation to continuously participate is crucial for success in e-learning. As the number of adult learners participating in lifelong education increases, it is necessary to study learner participation and the motivating factors. Drawing upon the Expectancy-Value Theory and Self-Regulated Learning Theory, this study analyzed the influence of motivational factors (value, costs, cognitive regulation, and scheduling) on learner participation. An e-learning program was implemented on MoodleCloud, and learners completed a survey before going through the program. Regression analysis was conducted using the survey response data along with the participation score, calculated using the log data. The results of the analysis demonstrated that value and scheduling significantly influenced learner participation, with gender differences found in value. This means that as adult learners perceive higher value in the e-learning program and possess better scheduling skills, they are more likely to participate. These findings can be utilized in developing teaching and learning strategies for both learners and instructors, ultimately helping to prevent dropout in e-learning.

  • 고등학교 지구과학에서 다루는 천문학 개념의 위계를 밝히고, 그에 따른 교수-학습의 효과를 알아보기 위해 지식공간론을 활용하여 학습과제 속에서 내재되어 있는 학습자의 지식상태를 분석하였다. 고등학교 학생들의 천문학적 공간개념에 대한 구성 요인 간 위계는 '공간위치 $\rightarrow$ 공간추리 $\rightarrow$ 공간변화' 순이었다. 학습자의 천문학적 공간개념 점수가 같아도 개념의 구조화( 지식상태 )가 다르게 나타나는 경우가 있었다. 이는 학습자에 따라 개별화 학습의 처방이 달라져야 함을 시사한다. 천체관측 개념의 위계는 '지구운동 $\rightarrow$ 천구좌표계 $\rightarrow$ 천체관측( 망원경 원리 $\rightarrow$ 망원경 설치 $\rightarrow$ 망원경 관측 )' 순으로 분석되었으며 2007개정교육과정에서 제시하는 순서와는 차이가 있었다. 고등학생들의 천체관측 개념에 대한 지식상태 분석에서 개념의 구조화가 잘 이루어진 학생의 경우에는 하위 위계를 이루는 지구운동과 천구좌표계, 망원경 원리에 관한 문항을 잘 맞추었고, 상위 위계에 있는 망원경 설치와 관측 문항에서 정답률이 낮았다. 그러나 개념의 구조화가 덜 이루어진 학생의 지식상태는 하위 위계를 이루는 지구 운동 관련 문항에서 더 많이 틀렸고, 최상위 위계( 망원경 설치, 관측 )를 이루는 문항에 대한 정답률이 높았다. 지구과학I의 천체관측 단원에 대하여 학습자의 심리적 위계와 교과서의 논리 위계에 따라 학습과제를 제시하여 교수-학습한 결과, 개념의 형성률은 심리적 위계에 따라 수업한 경우가 유의미( p & .05 )하게 더 높았다.

The Effect of Multi-faceted Learning by Application Game-based Student Response System in Nursing Education : Focusing on Kahoot! (간호교육에서 게임기반 학생응답시스템을 적용한 다각적인 학습효과 : Kahoot!을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Kahoot!(Game-based Student Response System) on nursing education. This study used an one group Pretest-posttest design. Participants were 179 nursing students from one D university located in Gwangju, Korea. The Kahoot!(Game-based Student Response System) was provided for 6 times. Data were collected between August 26 and October 25, 2019. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, paired t-test, pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression using IBM SPSS 21.0 program. The results showed that learning engagement(t=-6.257, p=.000) was significantly higher than levels before Kahoot!(Game-based Student Response System), critical thinking disposition(t=-2.163, p=.032) was significantly higher than levels before Kahoot!(Game-based Student Response System), problem solving ability(t=-3.032, p=.003) was significantly higher than levels before Kahoot!(Game-based Student Response System). Significant relationships were found among learning engagement(r=.375, p=.000), critical thinking disposition(r=.286, p=.000), problem solving ability(r=.291, p=.000) and learning satisfaction. The results of stepwise multiple regression indicates that learning engagement(β=.307, p=.000), problem solving ability(β=.158, p=.041) predicts 15.2% in learning satisfaction(F=16.905, p=.000). In conclusion, Kahoot!(Game-based Student Response System) is effective in improving learning engagement and problem solving ability to nursing education.

  • In this paper, a new viewpoint and practical education method were presented on educational culture related to today's religions and media. For this purpose, this paper considered the theories of religious media pedagogic and the concept of symbo1ic didactics relating to religious symbols in popular culture. In this paper, a total of eight cases of applying symbolic didactics were developed using the example of "The Da Vinci Code", based on the theoretical framework of religious media education and symbolic didactics. For this, the education methods and contents of religious media education were integrated with the teaching plan model of "action and development oriented media education". In order for this education to be applied effectively, experimental studies have to be carried out verifying the learning effects regarding this education. In particular, education for teachers who will tarry out this education is needed. This is because, in media education, the efficiency of education is significantly affected by the capacity of the one who is teaching.

  • The increasing demand for the distance learning has created a need to explore the implications of the emerging paradigm shift in the learning environment. For the use of information technology to improve learning processes, the pedagogical assumptions underlying the design of information technology for educational purposes must be understood. However, little theoretical development or empirical research has examined learning effectiveness in web-based distance learning. Thus, this paper reviews from research in management communications, education, social psychology, and information systems literatures to develop an conceptual model of influences on web-based corporate education outcomes. The hypotheses empirically examined using survey data from 152 students of 'L' company. The data support the validity and reliability of our constructs. And the hypotheses of this study get partially significant support. Finally, the implications of this survey results are discussed in terms of learning performance.

Analysing High School Students' Mathematical Belief System and Core Belief Factors (고등학생의 수학적 신념체계 및 중심신념요인 분석)

  • This study aims to explore mathematical belief system and core belief factors to be found. The mathematical belief system becomes an auto regulation device for students' using mathematical knowledge in mathematical situations and provides them with the context to perceive and understand mathematics. They have individual mathematical beliefs for each of mathematics subject, mathematical problem solving, mathematical teaching and learning and self-concept, and these beliefs of students construct mathematical belief system according to mutual relationships among the mathematical beliefs. Using correlation analysis and multiple regression, mathematical belief system was structuralized and core belief factors were found. Mathematical belief system is structuralized and, as a result the core belief factors that are psychological centrality of high school students' mathematical belief system are found to be persistence, challenge, confidence and enjoyment. These core belief factors are formed on the basis of personal experiences and they are personal primitive beliefs that cannot be changed with ease and cannot be shared with other people but they are related with many other beliefs influencing them.

Comparative study on the language anxiety levels and factors in different English class environments (영어 수업환경의 유형에 따른 언어불안 정도와 불안요인에 대한 비교분석)

  • This study examined the levels of language anxiety and their causal factors in different English class environments. The findings show that the levels of language anxiety vary significantly in different types of class environments, indicating that both the class environments and individual characteristics are meaningful variables of language anxiety. The findings also show that unlike the levels of language anxiety, its causal factors are almost constant regardless of the class environment with communication apprehension being the most important factor. This study suggests that the English proficiency of students and professors needs to be considered when constructing specific class environments, in addition to promoting class environments favorable to students' active participation in class.

The Effects of Learning Extracurricular Program Participation on Learning Competency of College Students (비교과 프로그램의 참여가 대학생의 학습역량에 미치는 효과)

  • This study aimed to examine whether the extracurricular program had an effect on improving the learning ability of college students who participated in the extracurricular activities. In order to operate the program, the CTL took the lead and promoted it through the school system. Afterwards, a total of 158 students who voluntarily participated were selected. According to the application forms they submitted, groups were formed and a cooperative learning extracurricular program was implemented for a total of 9 weeks. A survey on learning ability was conducted before and after the program was implemented. The results are as follows. First, the post-scores of learning ability of students who participated in the extracurricular activities program significantly improved compared to the pre-scores. Second, as a result of examining the subfactors of learning ability for a specific analysis of learning ability, the post-scores of all subfactors significantly increased compared to the pre-scores. Third, the pre- and post-scores of the eight detailed factors that constitute learning ability were compared. As a result, the scores of six detailed factors significantly improved compared to the pre-scores. Based on the results of this study, discussions were presented on activating extracurricular programs and improving students' learning ability.

초등학생의 수학교과에 대한 인식 및 학습부진에 관한 연구

  • 7차 교육과정을 시행에 앞서, 현재 초등학생들이 수학을 어떻게 생각하고 있으며, 어 떤 이유로 수학에서 학습 부진을 느낄까? 라는 문제의식을 갖게 되었다. 그래서 정규교육의 첫 단계인 초등학교 수학교과에 대한 인식 및 학습 부진에 관한 연구를 시행하고자 했다. 본 연구대상은 대전 ${\cdot}$ 충남 지역에 소재하고 있는 6개 초등학교 6개 반을 선정하여 발달사고과정에서 자신의 생각을 분명하게 나타낼 수 있는 4학년에서 6학년을 연구대상으로 선정하여 교과요인에 대한 설문조사를 하였다. 본 연구는 수학교과에 대해초등학생들이 어떤 생각을 가지고 있고, 어떤 교과요인을 학습하는데 어려움을 느끼는지를 알아봄으로써, 본 연구 결과를 기초로 중학생 ${\cdot}$ 고등학생 ${\cdot}$ 대학생들까지 연속하여 수학교과에 대한 인식을 조사하고 함이며, 새롭게 시행될 7차 교육과정에서의 수학교과 구성면과 수학 학습 및 교수 방법론에 보다 바람직하고 효과적인 시사점을 제공하고자 한다.

  • This study attempts to verify the effect of e-CRM on reuse intetnion of e-learning and to determine whether the presense mediates the relationship between e-CRM and reuse intetnion of e-learning through empirical analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, The effect of e-CRM(e-marketing, e-service, e-communication) on the intention of reuse for e-learning services was significant. Second, it was found that the effect of e-CRM(e-marketing, e-service) on reuse intention of e-learning was significantly mediated by the teaching presence. Third, it was found that the effect of e-CRM(e-marketing, e-service, e-communication) on reuse intention of e-learning was significantly mediated by the cognitive presence. Finally, it was found that the effect of e-CRM(e-marketing) on reuse intention of e-learning was significantly mediated by the social presence.
