The pupose of the study is to define the concept of faculty librarian system and provide suggestions in developing the system as a professional mode suitable for academic librarianship. The background and development of the system were reviewed and the advantages and disadvantages of faculty librarian system were addressed along with the investigations of the current status of professor librarians in USA. Key issues related to a rank system. qualification. evaluation and education of faculty librarian were discussed in the light of implementing and promoting this system in domestic university libraries.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the teaching competency level of professor and to suppose the strategies and policy issues for improving teacher librarian education system in Korea. This study was carried out to measure teaching competency of teacher librarian. This study participated by 120 elementary schools and secondary teacher librarian. The questionnaire consisted of 52 items for measuring teaching competencies of teacher librarian divided into nine area competencies. Based on the analysis results of this study, It was suggested the revision strategies of teacher education system.

This paper detailed the content and methods of the instructional activities of teacher-librarians in Korea. Using Kuhlthau's levels of education model as a theoretical framework, the study analyzed its data on the direct instructional activities the Korean teacher-librarians reported. The participants included four researchers in school libraries as well as the high school teacher-librarians in Seoul. Written survey were conducted for researchers and teacher-librarians respectively. The results show that there exists a gap between the theoretical emphasis on instructional activities of teacher-librarians and the practice of teacher -librarians in schools, and that the level of instructional activities has not yet advanced fully to the high levels of instructional activities. Future efforts should be made on developing legal as well as educational systems to support advancing the instructional levels of teacher-librarians. Integrating information literacy curricula into the national-level curriculum for public education could be a good example.

The purpose of this study is to suggest faculty status for academic librarians in Korea. This will assure the efficient use of academic librarians as human resources for university libraries. To do this, this study reviewed precedent literaturer. Also, the study looked at qualified academic librarians that could be endowed faculty status. Questionnaires were performed and opinions between professor groups and librarian groups were compared. On every question, the two groups responded positively although there were some differences in agreement level on the above questions. Endowing faculty status to academic librarians, who work in university libraries, acts as a motivation, will help to increase the ability of librarians, and increase service quality. This will eventually contribute developing better education and research.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the construct model of teaching competency in teacher librarian. For this purpose, this study compares and analysis the existing literature of which teaching competency of subject teacher and teacher librarian competency standard. The teaching competency model of teacher librarian was designed with the result of compares and analysis. The suggested model composed of 3 process: (1) instructional design, (2) Instruction Implementation, (3) Instruction evaluation. It is also suggested that construct of isolated instruction and cooperative instruction. This study can be helpful to development a in-service program of teacher librarian and curriculum of Teacher librarian education.

The purpose of this study is to survey the reference information service participation to school library human resources, to compare the independent variables with reference information service participation, and to discern what the important impacts on the differences of reference information service participation are. The 254 questionaries used were collected from December 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006 to the 327 school library employees. In this study, it is proved that there are differences between the Reference Information Service Participation of school library human resources and independent variables: gender, the level of school library, length of service, employment style. Tips for the reference information service participation of school library human resources were provided based on inadequacies and other findings revealed through this study.

The purpose of this study is to cultivate the educational competency of pre-librarians in the Department of Library & Information Science. To achieve this, first, the program is developed which is based by PBL(Project Based Learning) method for LIS education. Second, the questionnaire for education librarian self-efficacy is developed to measure the education librarian self-efficacy. Third, data were collected from 42 LIS undergraduate students at the beginning and end of the semester-long program during which it was adopted. The data were analyzed by paired t-test with SPSS. Analysis shows the program has a significant effect on the improvement of educational self-efficacy for pre-education librarians. Also, it is hoped that for this program will be applied to continuing education programs for education librarians and teacher librarians.

The purpose of this study is to identify the teaching anxiety experienced by instruction librarians of university libraries and to propose support measures to alleviate it. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, a survey was conducted targeting instruction librarians among librarians of group 'A' university across the country. As a result of analyzing a total of 138 valid responses, 84.8% of the librarians responded that they had experienced teaching anxiety. There was no difference in teaching anxiety in terms of library work experience, instruction work experience, instruction frequency, instruction work weight, and librarian role recognition, but there was a significant difference in emotions and readiness before entering the teaching role. As a way to alleviate the teaching anxiety of instruction librarians, it was suggested that the curriculum for user education should be established from the undergraduate course in library and information science, guidelines should be prepared at the level of higher institutions or councils, and to diversify the curriculum of specialized librarian education and training institutions.

This study is to present cooperative instructional concept framework for the library-based instruction of teacher-librarians, based on 'Information and the Library' curriculum and instructional design procedure. The development of cooperative instructional units has been initiated in the school libraries, but the research based on instructional theories, including instructional design, is lacking. In this aspect, instructional theories and methodologies for the cooperative instruction of teacher-librarians are important. The cooperative instructional units for teacher-librarians should be developed by 'Information and the Library' curriculum and instructional design procedures. The objectives of the curriculum emphasize information use process based on information task. This study is to present cooperative instructional concept framework, and to help teacher-librarians develop specific cooperative instructional units based on the framework.

School library concentrates its focus on how information literacy is implemented through the collaborative efforts of classroom teachers and teacher librarian. The role of teacher librarian and the competencies they need in order to succeed have changed over many years. However, current LIS education for teacher librarian has limitations in terms of institution, curriculum. In this research, I designed and implemented an Internet-based educational contents development and evaluation for teacher librarian's competency. This system was development by lecture authoring tool(LectureMAKER v2.0). This study tested the effectiveness of the system was verified by survey by 51 college students. The test paper consisted of 20 items(5 scale) for measuring teaching competencies of college students. This study verified effectiveness of the Internet-Based Educational Contents by two dependent samples t-test, Levene test.
