  • Korean universities have selected candidates through admission officer system since 2009. However, the universities now have to settle several problems that they faced at the first stage of the system. Therefore, this research, taking the admission screening data of J University as examples, aims to discuss how differently the weight of the screening factors appears depending on the subjects related to college entrance, such as parents, teachers, and admission officers. The research indicates that the subjects have different perspectives about entrance screening requisites. Parents and teachers more value the student record that is a countable indicator than the letter of self-recommendation that is a uncountable indicator. However, it also indicates that admission officers take attitude against parents and teachers.

  • The basic direction of mathematical education for the 21st century is focused on helping student to understand mathematics and developing their problem solving abilities, mathematical disposition and mathematical thinking. Elementary mathematics teachers should help students make sense of mathematics, confident of their ability, and make learning environment comfortable for students to participate in. Through making activities 1 to 100 with digits 1,9,9,6, students improved the interest and preference of students about mathematics. This game is useful to foster students' mathematical thinking(concepts of exponential number expression, roots concept(${\sqrt}$), gauss function([])) and mathematical disposition. If students are helped to be interested in mathematics through mathematical games, they regard mathematics as interesting and challengeable subject to let themselves think many ways.

  • It can be said that the teaching and learning of mathematical problem solving has been greatly influenced by G. Polya. His heuristics shows down the explicit process of mathematical problem solving in detail. In contrast, Polanyi highlights the implicit dimension of the process. Polanyi's theory can play complementary role with Polya's theory. This study outlined the epistemology of Polanyi and his theory of problem solving. Regarding the knowledge and knowing as a work of the whole mind, Polanyi emphasizes devotion and absorption to the problem at work together with the intelligence and feeling. And the role of teachers are essential in a sense that students can learn implicit knowledge from them. However, our high school students do not seem to take enough time and effort to the problem solving. Nor do they request school teachers' help. According to Polanyi, this attitude can cause a serious problem in teaching and learning of mathematical problem solving.

  • The purpose of this study is to uncover weaknesses in the constructivism in mathematics education and to search for ways to complement these deficiencies. We contemplate the relationship between the capability of construction and the performance of it, with the view of the 'Twofold-Structure of Mind.' From this, it is claimed that the construction of mathematical knowledge should be to experience and reveal the upper layer of Mind, the Reality. Based on the examination on the conflict and relation between the structuralism and the constructivism, with reference to the 'theory of principle' and the 'theory of material force' in Neo-Confucianist theory, it is asserted that the construction of mathematical knowledge must be the construction of the structure of mathematical knowledge. To comprehend the processes involved in the construction of the structure of mathematical knowledge, the epistemology of Michael Polanyi is studied. And also, the theory of mathematization, the historico-genetic principle, and the theory on the levels of mathematical thinking are reinterpreted. Finally, on the basis of the theory of twofold-structure, the roles and attitudes of teachers and students are discussed.

  • The study provided basic data that could be used for future research by identifying trends in the factors that affect the multicultural acceptability of Korean teens from 2008 to 2017. Research methods have searched for papers using keywords from 'Multicultural', 'Youth', 'Middle School Student', 'High School Student' and 'Acceptance' in academic data base. As a result of analysis, journal articles and dissertations soared as of 2012, and the academic field identified the largest number of studies being carried out in the field of social science and pedagogy. Quantitative research and cross-sectional study were the most important methods of previous research. On the other hand, few studies have concurrently analyzed new factors related to multicultural acceptability. The results of this study indicate the need for a combined analysis of the new factors that may affect the multicultural acceptability of adolescents.

  • School adjustment of elementary school children is one of the most important things, sinceitisthebasisofthefuturelife. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between parent-child relationship, peer relationship, teacher-child relationship, and school adjustment of elementary school students. The research topics of the present study were as follows: (1) Is the school adjustment of elementary school students different depending upon the parent-child relationship? (2) Is the school adjustment of elementary school students different depending upon the peer relationship? (3) Is the school adjustment of elementary school students different depending upon the teacher-child relationship in school? (4) Is the school adjustment of elementary school students different depending upon the grade, and sex? 460 students were sampled in Kangwon-do, and 400 were used in the final data analyses, excluding 60 due to the incomplete answering. Parent-child relationship inventory, peer relationship inventory, teacher-child relationship scale, and school adjustment scale were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS(win) 10.1K. The results were as follows: First, elementary school students adjust themselves to the school better when parent-child relationship, peer relationship, and teacher-child relationship are good. Second, teacher-child relationship has the most important effects on the school adjustment, and peer relationship, and parent-child relationship sequentially. Third, 4th graders adjust to the school better than the 6th, and there is no difference between boys and girls in terms of school adjustments. Based on the above results, discussion and implications for the future research and education were as below: First, teachers need to understand children's school adjustments depend upon their human relationships especially upon teacher-student relationships. Second, teachers need to understand students have more difficulties in adjusting to the school when they grow older. Third, teachers have to keep the children positive peer relationship, and parent-child relationship which are important in children's adjusting to the school. Fourth, future researches need nation-wide sampling and more systematized research design in order to generalize the results.
