담체교반시스템을 이용한 바이오필터의 막힘을 자동제어하는 기술

  • 본 기술은 각종 산업시설과 환경 기초 시설로부터 대기중으로 배출되는 악취 및 휘발성 유기화합물(Volatile Organic Chemicals; VOC)을 미생물의 분해 작용을 활용하여 제거하는 장치로 오염 물질의 분해과정에서 미생물의 과다생장에 의한 악취 및 휘발성 유기화합물 제거장치의 막힘현상을 미생물 고정화 담체의 교반과 살수과정을 통해 담체표면의 생물막을 효과적으로 제거하는 방법을 이용하여 오염 가스속에 함유되어 있는 악취 및 휘발성 유기화합물을 효율적으로 제거할 수 있는 기술이다. 특히, 미생물 담체의 교반 장치는 미생물 고정화 담체를 교반시켜 생물막을 탈리 시킴으로써 미생물의 생장에 의한 막힘 현상과 이로 인한 압력 손실 증가와 악취 및 휘발성 유기화합물의 제거성능의 저하를 근본적으로 해결할 수 있다.

Performance Evaluation of Multi-Degree-of-Freedom Robotic Mixer using Discrete Element Mixing Simulations (이산요소법 교반 시뮬레이션을 이용한 다자유도 로봇 믹서 성능 평가)

  • Industrial mixers to homogeneously blend particulate materials have been developed and widely used in various industries. However, most industrial mixers have at most two-degree-of-freedom for the operation, which limits the range of operation parameter selection for optimal blending. This paper proposes a multi-degree-of-freedom robotic mixer designed by converging a conventional drum blender and a robotic manipulator and evaluated its performance in a virtual operating environment. Discrete element simulations were conducted for mixing performance evaluation. The numerical results showed that the proposed mixer design exhibits a better mixing performance than conventional ones.

  • 본 논문에서는 전자기 교반 시스템용 2 상 직교하는 전원 공급 장치의 출력 전류 정상상태 오차를 줄일 수 있는 제어 기법을 제안하다. 2 상 직교하는 전원 공급 장치는 단상 풀브리지 인버터 2 대 대신 3 상 전압원 인버터 1 대를 사용하여 인버터의 레그 숫자가 줄어들고 인버터 스위치의 도통 손실이 감소한다. 본 논문에서는 회전 좌표계로의 변환(dq 변환)을 통해 출력전류 정상상태 오차를 0 으로 제어하는 기법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 제어 기법의 유효성은 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하였다.

A Study on the Operating Characteristics in a Helical Screw Agitator with a Draught Tube (드래프트 관 장착 나선형 교반장치의 작동 특성 연구)

  • Because the mixing efficiency is influenced remarkably by varying the geometrical configurations, the study of flow characteristics inside the agitator is very important. The draught tube in the agitator makes intermixing between the screw and tube by interrupting radial flow, and the helical screw agitator with a draught tube (HSA) is proved more efficient to mix than the others. Consequently, the shapes of helical screw and number of pitches are the main parameters for improving the performance of HSA. In this study, numerical analyses were carried out, using a commercial CFD code, Fluent, to obtain the velocity and pressure distributions under steady, laminar flow and no-slip condition. Results are graphically depicted with various parameters.

A Study on the Optimization of Sedimentation Efficiency through Controlling Stirring Speed and Baffle Angle (교반속도 및 Baffle 각도 조절에 따른 침전지 효율 최적화 연구)

  • This study was conducted to improve the solid-liquid separation efficiency of clarifiers. To do so, the study did a bio-flocculation experiment simply by controlling the stirring speed (rpm) and baffle angle of a clarifier on a lab scale, but without using a coagulant. For the purpose of the experiment, the feed wall of a clarifier was so improved that a baffle could be installed on the clarifier. Then, it was ensured to change its stirring speed (to 0.0rpm, 0.6rpm, and 1.2rpm), with the angle fixed at 10°. As a result, it was found that concentration efficiency increased by 2.0%, and effluent removal efficiency (SS concentration) by 7.8%, at a stirring speed of 0.6ppm. This indicates the bio-coagulation efficiency of sludge increased with changing stirring speeds. Then, the baffle angle of the sedimentation unit was changed to analyze how the changed baffle angle would affect the sedimentation of sludge. As a result, it was found that the compression of sludge interface was very effective at a baffle angle of 20°. It is hoped that these experimental findings will be useful in improving the sedimentation efficiency of circular clarifiers.

Effect of Electromagnetic Stirring on Microstructure Evolution in Solidification of a Near-Eutectic Al-Si Alloy

  • 본 논문에서는 공정조성 부근의 Al-Si 합금의 미세구조에 미치는 전자기교반(EMS)의 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 초정 a 상의 형상에 미치는 전자기교반의 세기의 영향을 조사하기 위하여 각각 교반장치에 60, 80,및 120V의 전압을 가하여 미세조직을 관찰하였다. 60V 이하의 전압이 인가되었을 때 전자기교반의 효과가 나타나지 않은 반면에, 80V 이상의 전압으로 5초 이상 인가되었을 때 구상화된 초정 a 상을 얻을 수 있었다. 인가된 전압이 120V일 때 초정 a 상은 보다 균일한 분포를 가지며 구상화 되었다. 전자기교반의 세기와 함께 교반시간의 영향을 확인하기 위하여 교반시간을 증가시키면서 미세조직을 관찰하였다. 또한 초정 a 상의 형상에 미치는 주조변수의 영향에 대해서도 실험하였다.

  • In the pyroprocessing of spent nuclear fuels, fuel materials are recovered by electrochemical reactions on the surface of electrodes as well as stirring the electrolyte in electrolytic cells such as electrorefiner, electroreducer and electrowinner. The system with this equipment should first be scaled-up in order to commercialize the pyroprocessing. So in this study, the scale-up for those electrolytic cells was studied to design a large-scale system which can be employed in a commercial process in the future. Basically the dimensions of both electrolytic cells and electrodes should be enlarged on the basis of the geometrical similarity. Then the criterion of constant power input per unit volume, characterizing the fluid behavior in the cells, was introduced in this study and a calculation process based on trial-and-error methode was derived, which makes it possible to seek a proper speed of agitation in the electrolytic cells. Consequently examples of scale-up for an arbitrary small scale system were shown when the criterion of constant power input per unit volume and another criterion of constant impeller tip speed were respectively applied.
