Relationship between Total Solar Radiation and PPF, and Transmittance in Greenhouse at Different Weather Conditions (기상조건에 따른 온실의 전천일사량 및 광합성유효광량자속의 상관관계 및 투과율)

  • Since the transmittance of solar radiation directly affected by the structural frames of greenhouse can be changed according to the ratio of diffuse to direct radiations, it is necessary to investigate the transmittance of greenhouse at the different weather conditions. We can easily get the data of total solar radiation from the Meteorological Administration, but we have to personally measure the photosynthetic photon flux (PPF). If the relationship between total solar radiation and PPF is established, the PPF can be simply acquired from the relationship. Sol it is required to develop the equation to calculate PPF depending on weather condition. This study was conducted to determine the transmittance of PPF at canopy level in glasshouse and the correlation between total solar radiation and PPF at clear and cloudy days. The variation phase of greenhouse transmittance at clear day was very different from that at cloudy day. It was concluded that the proper transmittance, depending on the weather condition, should be adopted to calculate the accurate total solar radiation and PPF in greenhouse. The transmittance of solar radiation was the same as that of PPF in greenhouse. It was confirmed that the ratio of PPF to total radiation increased as the amount of cloud increased. The correlation between the hourly total solar radiation and PPF was derived.

  • Rotational lighting system for plant factory is the way to decrease high installation cost of the existing lighting system. A few of LEDs are used at the rotational lighting system in comparison with the existing lighting system to supply artificial lights to crops. At rotational lighting system, the manufacturing cost becomes very low by comparing with the existing lighting system. In this paper, the photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) is investigated in order that plants may grow. And PPF is analyzed with the rotational speed of blade and LED output by using the rotational lighting system prototype and quantum sensor. It is confirmed that constant PPF value of $200{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{^-2}{\cdot}s^{^-1}$ is supplied with the blade rotation speed of 20rpm and LED output of IN 73%, CENTER 37% and OUT 50%. By comparing with the lighting system of existing plant factory, there is no difficulty to supply the light needed to grow plants by rotating a few of LEDs.

  • 작물의 생장상태를 측정하고자 기존의 연구자들에 의해서 많은 연구가 수행되고 있다. 그러나 작물의 생장을 감시하기 위한 기존의 방법은 파괴적이며 지속적이지 못하다는 단점을 지니고 있다. 작물이 생장 장해를 받아 눈에 띄게 작물의 생장변화가 보일 경우 작물은 이미 영구적인 손상을 받게 진다. 따라서 이런 작물의 생장 장해를 조기에 진단하여 작물의 생장 장해에 능동적으로 반응할 수 있는 방법의 개발이 절실히 요구된다. (중략)

  • 식물공장의 인공광원으로 고압나트륨등, 메탈할라이드등 또는 형광등이 주로 사용되고 있다. 이 가운데 고압나트륨등과 메탈할라이드등의 경우 램프효율은 높으나 각각 청색광 또는 적색광이 부족하여 단독으로 사용되지 않고 병행해서 보광용으로 사용되므로 근접 조명을 위한 단독 광원으로 사용하기가 부적합하다. 형광등은 고압나트륨등과 같은 고휘도 방전등에 비해서 광속은 낮으나 광이용효율이 높기 때문에 조직배양묘의 근접 조명용 광원으로 사용되고 있다. (중략)

Chlorophyll Fluorescence, Chlorophyll Content, Graft-taking, and Growth of Grafted Cucumber Seedlings Affected by Photosynthetic Photon Flux of LED Lamps (LED 램프의 광합성유효광양자속이 오이접목묘의 엽록소형광, 엽록소함량, 활착 및 생장에 미치는 영향)

  • Chlorophyll fluorescence, chlorophyll content, graft-taking and growth of grafted cucumber seedlings as affected by photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) of LED lamps were analyzed in this study. Four PPF levels, namely 25, 50, 100, $150{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ were provided to investigate the effect of light intensity on the chlorophyll fluorescence, chlorophyll content, graft-taking and growth of grafted cucumber seedlings. Air temperature, relative humidity, and photoperiod for graft-taking were maintained at $25^{\circ}C$, 90%, $16h{\cdot}d^{-1}$, respectively. Maximum quantum yield (Fv/Fm) of rootstock as affected by PPF was found to be 0.84-0.85 and there was no significant change in Fv/Fm. Even though Fv/Fm of scion measured at 2 days after grafting was lowered to 0.81-0.82, after then it gradually increased with increasing PPF. At 4 days after grafting, the chlorophyll content extracted from scion increased with increasing PPF. Graft-taking ratio of grafted cucumber seedlings was 90-95% as PPF was ranged from $25{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ to $100{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$. However, the graft-taking ratio of grafted seedlings healed under PPF of $150{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ was decreased to 80%. Maximum PPF measured required for smooth joining of rootstock and scion was assumed to be $100{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$. At healing stage of grafted cucumber seedlings, Fv/Fm of scion decreased and at least two days after grafting were required for rooting of grafted seedlings. Chlorophyll fluorescence response of rootstock and scion was linked to light irradiation. Therefore, it was concluded that physical environment including light and humidity during healing process of grafted seedlings should be controlled more precisely to facilitate root formation and to prevent scion from lowering Fv/Fm. Further studies are required to investigate the effects of root development and joining of vascular bundles of grafted seedlings on the chlorophyll content of scion.

A Study on the Plant Cultivation by comparing Ultra Constant Discharge (UCD) Lamp lighting and Hi-Pressure Sodium Lamp lighting (초정압방전램프(UCD)와 나트륨램프를 적용한 식물재배에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to research how UCD(Ultra Constant Discharge) lamp lighting affects plant cultivation. To get the results within a short time, lettuce seedling was selected as a plant and nutrient hydroponic beds were used in a dark room for 100% artificial lighting. Two beds were installed for same distance lighting condition with UCD lamp and Hi-pressure Sodium lamp each and another two beds were installed for same light intensity condition with each type of lamp. After 15 days of cultivation, for both conditions, the yields under UCD lamp were weighed more than that under Hi-pressure Sodium lamp. The result can be analyzed that the spectrum of UCD lamp having near sunlight characteristic is much superior to that of Hi-pressure Sodium lamp having a line spectrum characteristic on yellow and red wavelengths for plant cultivation.
