Study on the present status of R&D manpower and facilities in nanotechnology in Korea (국내 나노기술 연구개발 인력, 기자재 정보에 관한 조사 연구)

  • This study conducted a comprehensive survey on the status of R&D manpower and facilities in nanotechnology in Korea by interviewing R&D leaders from major research institutes nationwide. Present and future demand and supply for nanotech manpower and its policy were analyzed according to research organizations and research fields. And also nanotech-related equipment and facilities were analyzed. This study gives some useful suggestions for policy making of nanotech manpower and facilities.

A Study on the Performance of Prefetching Web Cache Proxy (Prefetch하는 웹 캐쉬 프록시의 성능에 대한 연구)

  • Explosive growth of Internet populations results performance degradations of web service. Popular web sites cannot provide proper level of services to many requests, and such poor services cannot give user a satisfaction. Web caching, the remedy of this problem, reduces the amount of network traffic and gives fast response to user. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of web cache traffics using traces of NLANR(National Laboratory for Applied Network Research) root caches and Education network cache in Seoul National University. Based on this analysis, we suggest a method of prefetching and we discuss the gains of our prefetching. As a result, we find proposed prefetching enhances hit rate up to 3%, response time up to 5%.

  • 4차산업 혁명의 여파로 국내에서는 다양한 분야에 인공지능과 빅데이터 기술을 활용하여 이전에 시행 중인 다양한 서비스 분야에 기술적 접목과 보완을 시도하고 있다. 특히 금융권에서 자금을 빌린 기업들을 대상으로 여신 안정성을 확보하고 선제적인 대응을 위해 온라인 뉴스기사들과 SNS 데이터 등을 이용하여 부실가능성을 예측하고 실제 업무에 도입하려는 시도들이 국내 주요 은행들을 중심으로 활발히 진행 중이다. 우리는 국내의 국책은행에서 수행한 비정형 데이터 기반의 기업의 부실징후 예측 시스템 개발 과정에서 시도된 다양한 분석 방법과 결과 그리고 과정 중에 발생한 문제점들에 관해 기술하고 관련 이슈들에 관하여 다룬다. 결과적으로 본 논문은 레이블이 없는 대량의 기사들에 레이블을 달기 위한 자동 태거(tagger) 개발과 뉴스 기사 예측 결과로부터 부실 가능성을 예측하기 위한 모델 및 성능 면에서 기사 예측 정확도 92%(AUC 0.96) 및 부실 가능성 기업 예측에서도 정형 데이터 분석결과에 견줄만한 성과를 이루었고 이에 관해 보고한다.

  • 본 연구는 아동의 탐색활동에 관한 연구에 지침이 되고 자극을 주고자, 또한 실제 지도에 있어 시사점을 발견하고자 이 분야에 관한 주요연구문헌을 고찰하였다. 그리하여 탐색활동을 놀이와 호기심과 비교하여 그 정의를 내리고 탐색활동의 기능과 특징, 그리고 이 활동에 영향을 주는 제 요인을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 아동의 탐색활동에 관한 연구자간의 의견차이를 보이는 것이나 연구공백이 있는 것이 여러부분이 됨이 드러났다. 즉 놀이와 탐색활동과의 구별, 탐색활동과 호기심과의 관계, 탐색활동의 동기, 상황에 따른 탐색활동의 유형변화, 탐색활동을 유발시키는 자극물의 특성-특히 공간적 특성, 탐색활동과 아동의 년령, 성별, 인지적 발달단계와의 관계, 그리고 탐색활동에 있어서의 개인차 등에 관해 더 많은 연구가 요구됨을 알 수 있었다. 특히, 아동의 탐색활동과 지적발달 또는 사회성 발달과의 관계나 아동의 발달과정에 따른 훈련이나 교육을 동한 탐색활동의 증진방안 등은 시사성 있는 중요한 연구테마로 보여진다. 또한 이 탐색활동에 관한 연구에서도 실험실에서 이루어진 연구가 자연적인 상황에 얼마나 일반화 될 수 있는지, 한 번의 관찰이나 실험이 계속적인 의미를 지닐 수 있는지에 대해 연구자들이 더욱 신중해야 할 필요성이 있음이 드러났다. 물론, 한 가지 이론이나 연구로서 탐색활동의 전부를 설명할 수는 없다. 유아교육자들이나 아동학자들은 아동이 그 자신의 환경에 적응하고, 사회적 유능성을 함양시키고, 진정한 의미에서의 지능발달에 중요한 것으로 드러난 이 아동의 탐색활동에 관해 더욱 관심을 가지고 여러 가지 이론과 연구를 빌어 연구나 실제 지도에 필요한 아이디어를 삼아야 할 것이다.

  • Droplet based microfluidic systems have been developed for the application of biological and chemical research field. A picoliter droplet in microfluidic device provides a compartmentalized and well-defined reactor in miniaturized system. The microfluidic system with small droplets can reduce reagent cost and enhance efficiency through automated high-throughput screening system. In this review, we summarize the functionality of droplet based microfluidic system including droplet generation, precise droplet control, and various applications. In addition, this article reviews current applications in chemistry and biology, and discuss advantages of droplet based microfluidics compared with conventional manner.

  • Paraneoplastic nephrotic syndrome can be diagnosed from its clinical and immunological features. The development of several types of glomerular injury in patients with cancer have been recognized, and are considered as paraneoplastic syndrome. Most prominent are the occurrence of membranous glomerulonephritis in patients with carcinomas. We report a case of a 60-year-old-man with small cell lung cancer presenting as nephrotic syndrome. A renal biopsy revealed membranous glomerulonephritis. Six lots of chemotherapy were administered, which led to a complete tumor response with total resolution of the nephrotic syndrome following treatment.

Factors to Predict a Remission after Short-Term Pharmacotherapy in Korean Panic Disorder Patients (한국인 공황장애 환자에서 단기간 약물치료 후 관해 예측인자 연구)

  • Objective : The authors examined the treatment response and remission rates in patients with panic disorder after short-term pharmacotherapy in an effort to determine the factors that can be used to predict remission in Korean patients with panic disorder. Methods : Sixty-one patients with panic disorder were recruited for participation in this study. The psychological symptoms of the patients were measured using the HAMA, HAMD, STAIS, STAIT, ASI and API at baseline and after 3 months of pharmacotherapy. Results : Patients with panic disorder showed significantly lower scores on all psychological measures after 3 months of pharmacotherapy with paroxetine. The remission rate was 44.3%, and the response rate was 54.1%. The remitters showed significantly lower HAMD, HAMA, STAIS, STAIT, and ASI scores than the non-remitters. Linear regression analysis revealed that the baseline HAMA, HAMD, and ASI scores could be used to predict the remission rate after controlling for age, sex and agoraphobia. Conclusion : Compared with previous reports, our study showed a similar remission rate in Korean patients with panic disorder. Lower baseline levels of anxiety, depression, and anxiety sensitivity were found to be predictors of treatment remission in panic disorder.

  • We describe the Ubiquitous Healthcare Service(UHS) architecture, a new service-provision architecture, covering the basic concept, component and their roles and the service-provision mechanism. A UHS provides services in two phases, a service composition phase in which Healthcare Service Elements (HSEs) are combined on the basis of Healthcare Service Agents (HSAs), and a Healthcare Service emergence phase in which a new HSA is obtained on the basis of the history usage of HSEs and HSAs. A UHS can handle various types of HSEs, representing web services, resources about healthcare domain. The establishment of UHS technologies on networks will provide various services within ubiquitous-computing environments.

  • During communication between wireless users, disconnection may occur during the handover process. The high handover latency during the process of handover degrades the service quality of the wireless communications. This problem becomes more crucial if the operation network is transmitting real-time multimedia applications. This paper studies the hanover procedure of mobile IPv6 and investigates various factors affecting the handover latency through mobile IPv6 testbed and evaluates the various parameters for reducing the handover latency.

  • In this paper, we propose the implementation techniques of IC card chipset that is compatible with international standard ISO-7816 and supports WindowsCE operating system to expropriate various electronic cash and credit card. This IC card interface chip set is composed with 32 bit ARM720T Core and AES(Advanced Encryption System) cryptography module for electronic commerce. Six IC card interfaces support T=0, T=1 protocol and two of them are used to interface with user card directly, the others are used for interface with SAM card. In addition, It supports a LCD controller and USB interface for host. We improved the performance about 70% than software based It card chip set and verified using Hynix 0.35um process.
