수평 관에서 고체입자 농도가 압력강하 및 마찰계수에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Particle Concentrations on Friction Factors and Pressure Drops in a Horizontal Pipe)

  • Generally, the economic concept of optimized design and operating conditions in fluidized bed heat exchangers can hardly be realized. Because the lack of fundamental knowledge about the particle flows, the optimum design of the fluidized bed heat exchanger is rather limited. In the present work, measurements are made on pressure drops and friction factors in the horizontal circular tube with solid particles in the circulating water. Two different solid particles of diameters of 3mm and 4mm are covered. The Reynolds numbers are ranged from 10,000 to 45,000. It is concluded that the friction factors for the particles of 4mm diameter are much higher than those for the particles of 3mm diameter. And at the lower particle concentration, the friction factors are strongly influenced by the fluid velocity rather than the particle concentration; However, the effect of the particle concentration on friction factors is also significantly higher at a higher particle concentration operating condition.

납작관의 종횡비가 R-410A 증발열전달 및 압력손실에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Aspect Ratio of Flat Tube on R410A Evaporation Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop)

  • 본 연구에서는 내경 5.0mm 원관을 납작하게 한 납작관에 대하여 R-410A를 사용하여 증발열전달 실험을 수행하였다. 실험은 포화온도를 $15^{\circ}C$로 고정한 상태에서 열유속을 $5{\sim}15kW/m^2$, 질량유속을 $200{\sim}400kg/m^2s$로 변화시키며 수행되었다. 실험결과 납작관의 종횡비가 증가할수록 열전달계수와 압력손실 모두 증가하였는데 특히 종횡비 4 인 경우 증가폭이 현저하였다. 납작관의 실험결과를 기존 상관식들과 비교한 결과 열전달계수는 Shah 상관식, 마찰계수는 Jung and Radermacher 상관식이 적절히 예측하였다.

주름관에서의 압력강하와 마찰손실 계측에 관한 연구 (The study on the measurement for the pressure drop and friction factor of corrugated metal pipes)

  • The data for friction factor of the pipe correlated by Reynolds number and relative roughness have been reported well as a Moody chart. However, the results for corrugated shapes have been not investigated sufficiently. In this research, therefore, the pressure drop and friction factor are obtained. Flexible metal tubes with corrugations for the measurement are made of stainless steel plates. The kinds of tubes for the measurement are 5 annular types and helical types. The pressure drop & the velocity of the flow are obtained by micromanometer & digital pressure sensor, supplying dry air at several steps. Then the pressure drop is calculated for each tube, using the obtained data. The result shows that the pressure drop is strongly influenced by the viscous dissipation of kinetic energy due to the circulation of flows, rather than a viscous friction loss. The pressure drop increased consistently as the Reynolds number increases.

측방유동지반속 지중매설관에 작용하는 토압식 산정 (Evaluation of Lateral Earth Pressure on Buried Pipes in Soft Ground Undergoing Lateral Movement)

  • 소성흐름을 발생시키는 측방유동 가능지반내에 설치된 매설관에 작용하는 토압에 대한 메카니즘을 규명하기 위해 파괴형상실험을 실시하고, 파괴형상실험을 토대로 지반변형속도를 고려하기 위해 Maxwell 점탄성 모델을 적용한 토압산정식을 제안하였다. 직접전단실험으로 구한 점성계수와 내부마찰각과 상재압을 고정하여 이론식으로 도출해낸 점성계수가 잘 일치하고 있음을 확인하였고 모형실험결과와 이론식에 의한 토압은 지반변형속도에 영향을 받으며 비교적 일치하며 지반변형이 없는 경우에도 정지토압을 받음을 알 수 있다. 또한, 지반의 지지력은 점성토에서는 관입전단파괴시의 값과 거의 일치하였다. 또한, 매설관 주변지반의 파괴모드는 매설관직경과 무관하게 지반변형속도에 영향을 받으며 작용토압은 균질한 지층의 경우 선형적으로 증가하고 조립질에 가까울수록 선형적 감소치를 보이므로 매설관주변지반의 매립재를 이용하여 매설관주변의 토압을 경감시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

  • This paper is an experimental study on the performance characteristic with a variation of capillary diameter and length. The performance characteristic of a refrigeration system is predicted that it is occurring changes of flow pattern and pressure drop in a capillary tube because of reduction of capillary diameter 0.74 to 0.6 mm. The difference between experimental results and analytical results is mainly caused by values of friction factor for using to calculate pressure drop through a small diameter capillary tube under 0.74mm. The experimental equation is derived from capillary tube test data using curve fitting method.

  • In this study, the ring tensile test at high temperature was suggested to evaluate the hoop tensile properties of small tube such as the cladding in the nuclear reactor Using the Arsene's ring model, the ring tensile test was performed and the test data were calibrated. From the result of the ring test with strain gauge and the numerical analysis with 1/8 model, LCRR(load-displacement conversion relationship of ring specimen) was determined. We could obtain the hoop tensile properties by means of applying the LCRR to the calibrated data of the ring tensile test. A few difference was observed in view of the shape of fractured surface and the fracture mechanism between at the high temperature and at the room temperature.

벽면거칠기위치에 따른 이중동심관내의 난류유동과 열전달 (Turbulent Flow and Heat Transfer in Concentric Annuli Depending on Position of Wall Roughness)

  • 직경 비가 0.56인 이중동심관에 내외측모두 매끈한 벽면, 벽면 거칠기를 안측, 외측, 그리고 양측 모두의 4경우에 대한 난류 유동과 열전달특성을 실험과 이론으로 연구하였다. 시간평균속도분포, 마찰계수, 그리고 최대 속도 지점과 전단응력이 0인 지점들을 피토튜브와 X형 열선 풍속계로 측정하였다. 이중동심관내에서 4가지 경우에 따른 사각돌출형 거칠기효과가 난류 유동과 열전달에 미치는 영향을 수정난류모델을 기초로 하여 연구하였다. 직경비, 거칠기 위치, 레이놀즈수, 그리고 프란틀수 등의 여러 변수에 의해서 난류 유동과 열전달을 고찰하였다. 본 연구는 전체적 효율 측면에서 유리하게 열전달율을 향상시킬수 있는 거칠기 구조를 밝혔다.

  • This paper describes on energy loss in a pipe of refuse collecting system. Analysis energy loss in a pipe is the decisive factor in a design for refuse collecting system. From the analysis energy loss, we can determine the capacity of turbo blower. The flow characteristics in the pipe with the refuse bag are analyzed by three-dimensional Navier-Stokes analysis. The refuse bag is modeled using the actual measurement. We obtain friction factor by changing refuse bag's size and mixing ratio and Reynolds number. And From the result we calculate energy loss by using compressible flow analysis.

발포 알루미늄이 삽입된 환형관에서의 압력손실 및 강제대류 열전달 (Pressure Loss and Forced Convective Heat Transfer in an Annulus Filled with Aluminum Foam)

  • An experimental investigation has been carried out for aluminum foam heat sink inserted into the annulus to examine the feasibility as a heat sink for high performance forced water cooling in the annulus. The local wall temperature distribution, inlet and outlet pressures and temperatures, and heat transfer coefficients were measured for heat flux of 13.6, 18.9, 25.1, 31.4 $kw/m^2$ and Reynolds number ranged from 120 to 2000. Experimental results show that the friction factor is higher than clear annulus without aluminum foam, while the significant augmentation in Nu is obtained. This technique can be used for the compactness of the heat exchanger.

굴착유체의 Slim Hole 환형관 내 유동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Flow of Drilling Fluids in Slim hole Annuli)

  • The paper concerns an experimental study of fully developed laminar flow of a Newtonian and non-Newtonian liquid in concentric annuli with combined bulk axial flow and inner cylinder rotation. Pressure losses and skin friction coefficients have been measured for Newtonian fluid, water and non-Newtonian fluids, 0.2% aqueous of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and 5% bentonite solutions, when the inner cylinder rotates at the speed of $0{\sim}500$ rpm. The influences of rotation, radius ratio and working fluid on the annular flow field are investigated. And the new correlations among the skin friction coefficient, the Reynolds number and the Rossby number are presented with reasonable limits of accuracy in laminar flow regime.
