An Improved Protocol for the Secure Mobile IPv6 Binding Updates (안전한 모바일 IPv6 바인딩 갱신을 위한 개선된 프로토콜)

  • In MIPv6, unauthenticated binding updates expose the involved MN and CN to various security attacks. Thus, protecting the binding update process becomes of paramount importance in the MIPv6, and several secure binding update protocols have been proposed. In this paper, we pro-pose a novel protocol for the secure binding updates in MIPv6, which can resolve the drawbacks of the Deng-Zhou-Bao's protocol [2], by adopt-ing Aura's CGA scheme with two hashes [9]. Aura's scheme enables our protocol to achieve stronger security than other CGA-based protocols without a trusted CA, resulting in less cost of verifying the HA's public key than the Deng-Zhou-Bao's protocol. Through the comparison of our protocol with other protocols such as the Deng-Zhou-Bao's protocol, CAM-DH and SUCV, we show that our protocol can provide better performance and manageability in addition to stronger security than other approaches.

  • This paper describes design and implementation experience of SAS-G2S slotmachine accounting protocol middleware system that converts the legacy binary format SAS (Slot Accounting System) protocol with servers with recent standards G2S protocol. The paper examines the difference of two protocols such as link control, message format, and parameters. The converter architecture uses bridge and connector patterns and implemented in C++ and Python mixed language on Linux environment. The prototype system uses a 1GMHz-512MB linux machine and has passed Korean official protocol compatibility and performance test in 2015.

  • This paper presents a coordinator-based TDMA reader protocol that can avoid the reader collision in a passive RFID system. In the proposed protocol, the coordinator can not only minimize the number of empty slots by efficiently allocating slots to readers incoming in Poisson distribution, but reduce latency time through the limited frame size. The proposed protocol can be implemented in either mobile or fixed mode through the slot structure to be described in the context. The simulation results show it works as suggested and the frame size limitation as well as the statistical distribution of incoming readers has a great impact on the overall slots and the average latency time.

  • For the route optimization in the MIPv6, MN(Mobile Node) sends CN(Correspondent Node) a binding update message to notify the binding of is HoA(Home Address) with its new CoA(Care-of Address). However, unautenticated binding updates expose the involved MN and CM to various sucurity attacks. Thus, protecting the binding update process becomes of paramount importance in the MIPv6, and several secure binding update protocols, and the performance of packet exchanges and cryptographic operations. Then, we analyze the four typical binding update protocols based on the presented criterions. In addition, we propose some improvement tips for secure binding updates.

  • A wireless sensor network (WSN) has limited battery power because it is used wirelessly using low-cost small sensors. Since the battery cannot be replaced, the lifespan of the sensor node is directly related to the lifespan of the battery, so power must be used efficiently to maximize the lifespan of the network. In this study, based on PEGASIS, a representative energy-efficient routing protocol, we propose a protocol that classifies layers according to the distance from the sink node and configures multiple chains rather than one chain. The proposed protocol can increase network lifespan by reducing the transmission distance between nodes to prevent unnecessary energy consumption.

  • 무선 애드 혹 네트워크의 사용이 증가함에 따라 네트워크의 보안 또한 매우 중요하게 인식되어 지는 추세이지만, 현재 무선 애드 혹 네트워크의 보안성 표준안에 대한 정의가 미흡한 상황이다. 현재까지 많은 연구를 통해 제안된 키 관리 프로토콜은 오직 특정 상황에만 적용 가능한 단점을 가지고 있다. 2005년 무선 애드 혹 네트워크에서 안전한 그룹 통신을 위한 새로운 키 합의 프로토콜인 CRTDH 프로토콜이 제안되었다[1]. 이 프로토콜은 효율적으로 그룹 키를 계산할 수 있고, 멤버들의 높은 이동성을 지원한다. 하지만 그룹 키 설정 과정에서 공격자가 송신자와 수신자 사이에서 전달되는 메시지를 위조 할 수 있고, 키의 재설정 과정에서 그룹이 변경 되어도 이전 그룹 키와 동일하게 계산 될 수 있다. 즉 중간자(Man-in-the-middle) 공격과 LCM(Least Common Multiple) 공격에 취약하다. 본 논문에서는 두 가지 공격에 대한 해결책을 제시하여 보안성이 강화된 그룹 키 합의 프로토콜을 제안한다.

  • 인터넷의 급속한 확산은 이른바 주소관리로 이어지는 도메인이름, IP주소 할당, 프로토콜 관리를 포함한 기술 정책의 수립을 통해 사이버 공간상의 새로운 질서를 요구하게 되었다. 지금까지 다양한 관점에서 논의되어온 인터넷 정책은 새로운 디지털 콘텐츠 식별체계의 도입에 있어 시사하는 바가 크다. 새로운 디지털 콘텐츠 식별 체계로 부각되고 있는 DOI는 단순한 식별체계로서만이 아니라 디지털 콘텐츠의 관리·유통을 포함하는 모든 측면에 영향을 끼칠 것으로 기대된다. 따라서 지금까지 수행되어온 인터넷 정책, 특히 주소관리 정책을 기반으로 한 효율적인 DOI 관리 정책 수립이 시급히 요청되고 있다.

The MS Card Data Transfer System using Bluetooth Protocol (블루투스를 이용한 마그네틱 카드 정보 전송 시스템)

  • The MS card data transfer system using blue-tooth protocol ran communicate the MS card data wirelessly and does not take an extra communication expense which is a weakness point of existing wireless communication system. This Blue-tooth system, which has excellent security and no extra communication expense, can efficiently communicate data of the place ,where can be solved with small scale wireless network, such as the theme-park or gasoline-station. Existing wireless communication system compose network using wireless-LAN protocol which has extra communication expense, or with RF protocol which has poor security. But this system suitable for LAN because it has not extra communication expense and it has excellent security cause frequency-hopping of Blue-tooth protocol. The MS card data transfer system using blue-tooth protocol has low power, high performance RISC processor and large scale 16-gray graphic LCD which is suitable for portable unit. The MS card data transfer system can efficiently control depot for a long time because it has low power, excellent security and no extra communication expense.

  • 6LoWPAN is a standard to enable IPv6 packets to be carried on top of low power wireless networks. It needs to achieve security in 6LoWPAN, which is being defined at the 6LoWPAN working group of the IETF. IPSec is already part of IPv6, which makes it a candidate to be directly employed or adapted for WSNs. Some results showed that the adoption of IPSec is viable, and also point towards the successful design and deployment of security architecture for WSNs. IPSec requires two communicating entities to share a secret key that is typically established dynamically with the IKE. However, there are some limitations to use IKE on wireless networks. In this article, we show requirements for being Efficient Key management Mechanism for IPSec on 6LoWPAN and analyze candidate protocols.

  • Nowadays u-healthcare which is very sensitive to the character of user's information among other ubiquitous computing field is popular in medical field. u-healthcare deals extremely personal information including personal health/medical information so it is exposed to various weaknees and threats in the part of security and privacy. In this paper, RFID based patient's information protecting protocol that prevents to damage the information using his or her mobile unit illegally by others is proposed. The protocol separates the authority of hospital(doctor, nurse, pharmacy) to access to patient's information by level of access authority of hospital which is registered to management server and makes the hospital do the minimum task. Specially, the management server which plays the role of gateway makes access permission key periodically not to be accessed by others about unauthorized information except authorized information and improves patient's certification and management.
