The effects of social support perceived by multicultural youth on learning adaptation: Focusing on the effect of self-esteem and achievement motivation

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of social support perceived by multicultural youth on learning adaptation and to identify the indirect effects of self-esteem and achievement motivation in this relationship. In order to analyze these relationships through structural equation model analysis, panel data were used for the seventh year of multicultural youth (2017). As a result of the analysis, first, the social support, self-esteem and achievement motivation perceived by multicultural youth had a significant influence on learning adaptation. Second, self-esteem of multicultural youths had a significant effect on social support. Third, the influence of social support perceived by multicultural youth on learning adaptation was found to have indirect effects through self-esteem and achievement motivation as well as direct effects. Based on these findings, this study suggested practical intervention plans to improve social support and learning adaptation of multicultural youths.

Factors Affecting Perceived Academic Achievement of Nursing Students in Online Class (온라인 수업에서 간호대학생의 지각된 학업성취도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study examined the relationship of academic achievement, learning motivation and self-directed learning ability and cognitive presence of nursing students in online class. Data were collected through self reported structured questionnaire in 202 nursing students from October 19 to 30, 2020. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0. As a result this study, academic achievement was positively correlated with learning motivation(r=.45, p<.001), self-directed learning ability(r=.50, p<.001) and cognitive presence(r=.64, p<.001). As a result regression analysis, subjective academic grades, self-directed learning ability and cognitive presence explained 57.0% of the academic achievement in nursing students(F=91.00, p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to develop various interventions to enhance the self-directed learning ability and to design the classes that increase the cognitive presence.

  • This study examined the factors that affect the relationship among functional bakery purchase motivation, consumer attitudes, and purchase intention. A total of 230 questionnaires were distributed to the consumers, of which 210 were deemed suitable for analysis after the removal of 20 unusable responses. In order to perform statistical analyses required in current study, SPSS 18.0 statistical program was employed for frequency analysis, factor analysis, and reliability analysis, Correlations, regression analysis. The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that four factors regarding local specialties purchase motivation were extracted from all measurements with a KMO of 0.735 and a total cumulative variance of 65.759%, with regard to consumer attitudes, one factors were extracted with a total cumulative variance of 72.421% and a KMO score of 0.684. One factor for purchase intention was extracted that accounted for a total cumulative variance of 67.139% and a KMO score of 0.683. All factors were significant and the correlation between variables was significant as well. Thus, based on the results, the main research hypothesis that identifies the relationships purchase motivation between consumer attitudes and purchase intention were partially adopted.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact on job satisfaction of the chinese bank staff by judging their motivators and hygiene factors. To explore the regulation of demographic characteristics between motivators, hygiene factors and job satisfaction. In the banking organization through the use of various elements of motivation duties assigned to meet organizational objectives put forward in order to achieve an effective incentive scheme given. In summary the results of analysis, the impact on motivator and job satisfaction in the work itself the result of regression analysis, promotion and recognition of the growth and job satisfaction in order to affect a positive sense of accomplishment and responsibility on the other hand, the task appeared was found not to affect satisfaction. The motivators of the bankers its positive influence on job satisfaction than hygiene factors were relatively high. And moderating effect of demographic characteristics and to validate the results, demographic characteristics and health factors are motivation and job satisfaction in the relationship between the presence of the control effect was analyzed. The relationship between motivation and job satisfaction is the demographic characteristics were analyzed to control that acts as a tour director, Hygiene factors influence job satisfaction is based on demographic characteristics was analyzed the age and education have been shown to exist, while Sex, tours, position the relationship between job satisfaction and hygiene factors do not exist in the control effect was analyzed.

The Effect of Radish Liquid Naturally Fermented Bread Selection Motive on Consumer Attitude and Purchase Intention (무우액종 천연발효 빵 선택동기가 소비자태도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the factors that affect the relationship between radish liquid naturally fermented bread selection motive, consumer attitude and purchase intention. A total of 300 questionnaires were distributed to the consumers, of which 279 were deemed suitable for analysis after the removal of 21 unusable responses. In order to perform statistical analyses required in the study, SPSS 18.0 statistical program was employed for frequency analysis, factor analysis, and reliability analysis, correlations, regression analysis.   • The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between students' motivation for participating in leisure sports, students' physical self-concept and the life satisfaction of university students. A total of 419 students were finally analyzed using the convenience sampling method of non-random sampling method after selecting those university students participating in leisure sports at a university located in J district. The results of analysis using SPSS version 21.0 program are as follows. First, there is a positive (+) correlation between the motives of participation of university students and their physical self-concept and satisfaction with university life. Second, the influence of the motive to participate in sports has a positive (+) effect on sports competence and this is affected by health fitness and social interaction, physical activity is affected by pleasure, health fitness, and conditioning, self-esteem, muscular strength is affected by pleasure, health fitness, condition, and society, flexibility is affected by pleasure, health fitness, and society. Third, the influence of participation motive had a positive (+) effect on school satisfaction is affected by pleasure, health fitness, physical condition, external display, socialization, and fellow satisfaction is effected by pleasure and condition.

The Impact of Self-Reported Knowledge and Self-perceived Importance about Earth Systems on Science Gifted Students' Science Motivation: An Exploratory Study (과학 영재 학생의 지구계에 대한 지식과 중요성이 과학 동기에 미치는 영향: 탐색적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation among science gifted students' self-reported knowledge and self-perceived importance about Earth systems, and their science motivation. Ninety three seventh graders participated in this study who enrolled at Science Gifted Institute of K university. The correlation was measured by a validated Earth systems survey and Science Motivation Questionnaire (SMQ). The data were analyzed at the margin of error probability 0.05 using correlation and regression analysis. The result of reliability for items turned out high because the Cronbach's alphas were .896~.937. Results indicated that the correlation between self-reported knowledge on Earth systems and science motivation showed a correlation coefficient .656, whereas the correlation between importance on Earth systems and science motivation was .387, which was regarded as low. On the other hands, the result of regression analysis depicted that non-std. coefficients between students' self-reported knowledge about Earth systems and science motivation were .548 (.077), which lead to the conclusion that students' knowledge on Earth systems explained 43% of science motive-variation. It implied that Earth systems education program could impact the increased motivation of science gifted-students. Therefore, this study suggests that the various Earth systems education programs could be developed and implemented in order to increase students' motivation on studying science in general and Earth science in specific.

Impact of Inner/External Motive of Children with Underachievement in Basic Learning on Academic Failure Tolerance, Depression and Academic Efficacy (기초학습부진아동의 내·외적동기에 따른 학업적 실패내성, 우울, 학업효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to identify the correlation between internal/external motive, academic failure (emotion, behavior, task preference), depression (depressive emotion, behavioral disorder, loss of interest, self-degradation and physiological symptom), and academic efficacy of elementary school students with underachievement basic learning, and discover the influential variables on internal/external motive, targeting 56 elementary school students with underachievement in third and fifth grade of 10 elementary schools in G metropolitan city. The research conducted T-test to figure out the difference between the children with underachievement by year and carried out theregression analysis to identify the predictors of self-determination motives. First, there was a difference between the third and fifth graders in terms of the external motives. Second, the influential variables for external motives of children with underachievement included depressive emotion, loss of interest and physiological symptom. Therefore, as more third graders with underachievement study under the external motives compared to the fifth graders, it is concluded necessary to adopt a program to reduce the variables for depression that influence the external motives.

A Study on the Grounded Theory of Motivation in Clinical Music Therapy Practice for the Mental Rehabilitation Members (정신재활 회원을 위한 음악치료 임상실습에서의 동기부여에 관한 근거이론 연구)

  • This study is conducted to analyse the process and the pattern of motivation for musical expression in clinical music therapy for the adults in the mental health center. The participant were 8 adults purposive sampling who had more than one year music therapy experience in the mental health center and their age ranged from 27 to 53. A major category derived and analysed from the grounded theory method by Strauss and Corbin. The qualitative analysis indicated that motivation for musical expression in music therapy, which was the central phenomenon in this study, was determined by the music therapist and songs used in the sessions. The central phenomenon was caused by the therapist's friendly attitude, high musical capacity, the familarity of the selected songs and the significancy of the lyrics of selected songs. The levels of reliability about the therapist's personality and musical ability as a professional music therapist and the positive arousal of the songs used in sessions affected as the contextual condition. Spontaneous musical expression in music therapy brought the escape from reality, release of stress and sharing by the intervening condition 'empathy' and this resulted in mood regulation, the instillation of hope and group cohesion. It has been found that there were three types of motivation in music therapy: intrinsic motivation, relationship dependent extrinsic motivation and evasive motivation.

Influence of Parent-child Travel Push-pull Motivation, Experience on Behavioral Intention (자녀 동반 가족여행에서의 Push-pull 동기, 경험이 행동의도에 미치는 영향)

  • With the development of society, changes in the family structure of China's residents and the increase in family income, parent-child travel has gradually become a new hotspot for tourism consumption. It is important for tourism marketers to understand the needs and motivations of parent-child travelers. This study explored the push and pull motivations of parent-child travelers by conducting a questionnaire survey of 290 travelers to parent-child farms and validated the path relationships between push and pull motivations, experiences and behavioral intentions. The result indicated that: 3 push factors were derived from the factor analysis of 13 push items and were named as 'For children & Family', 'Escape & Relax', and 'Socialization'; 3 pull factors were derived from the factor analysis of 11 pull items and were labeled: 'Facilities & Safety', 'Theme activities', and 'Environment'. Through sub hypotheses testing, the results show that push-pull motivation of parent-child travelers has a positive effect on their experience(4Es) for attending. 'Esthetics Experience' has the highest effect on the parent-child travelers' behavioral intentions, followed by 'Education Experience' and 'Entertainment Experience'.
