The Analysis of the Herding Behavior of Korean Institutional Investors: Evidence from the Intraday (일중거래자료를 사용한 기관투자자 군집거래의 분석)

  • There are many literatures about the herding behavior of institutional investors but there is lack of literatures about the relation among several investor groups consisting of institutional investors. So we investigate the relation among sub-institutional investor groups like bank, insurance companies, pension funds using KRX intraday trading data of 2009. As the result, we find that foreign, individual, and securities firm investors trade in the opposite direction of other investor groups including pension funds. And pension, insurance, asset management, private equity funds, other companies, government, and banks are cross-mimicking each other, so we conclude that these investors make herding behavior. In 2009 institutional investors except securities firms make herding in a short period, and insurance, asset management, pension funds and other companies make herding and self-mimicking in all period, but there is no herding and mimicking after foreign investors.

  • According to the existing studies, the yearly IT budget on Korean financial industry has the same pattern with the GDP Change trend. We analyzed the correlation between GDP and the IT budget of financial industry for the 20 years since 1993. According to the results, as time went by the IT budget of bank, life insurance and securities has been consistently maintained a downward trend. On the other hand, it was confirmed to be maintained a upward trend of the non-life insurance's IT budget. As a result, we analyzed the impacts of IT regurations in the financial industry, then proposed the policy directions of the financial IT services industry.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact on job satisfaction of the chinese bank staff by judging their motivators and hygiene factors. To explore the regulation of demographic characteristics between motivators, hygiene factors and job satisfaction. In the banking organization through the use of various elements of motivation duties assigned to meet organizational objectives put forward in order to achieve an effective incentive scheme given. In summary the results of analysis, the impact on motivator and job satisfaction in the work itself the result of regression analysis, promotion and recognition of the growth and job satisfaction in order to affect a positive sense of accomplishment and responsibility on the other hand, the task appeared was found not to affect satisfaction. The motivators of the bankers its positive influence on job satisfaction than hygiene factors were relatively high. And moderating effect of demographic characteristics and to validate the results, demographic characteristics and health factors are motivation and job satisfaction in the relationship between the presence of the control effect was analyzed. The relationship between motivation and job satisfaction is the demographic characteristics were analyzed to control that acts as a tour director, Hygiene factors influence job satisfaction is based on demographic characteristics was analyzed the age and education have been shown to exist, while Sex, tours, position the relationship between job satisfaction and hygiene factors do not exist in the control effect was analyzed.

Heavy Metal Concentrations in Tree Ring Layer and Soil and Tree Ring Growth of Roadside Trees in Seoul (서울시 가로수의 연륜층 및 식재주변 토양의 증금속 농도와 연륜 생장)

  • This study was carried out to examine the heavy metal concentrations in soils under roadside trees and tree ring layers, and to investigate the relationship between heavy metal concentrations and tree ring growth of roadside trees in Seoul. Soil samples at $0{\sim}20\;cm$ depth and tree line were collected from Platanus occidentalis and Ginkgo biloba at nine streets, and pH and heavy Metal concentrations were analyzed. Soil pH ranged from 6.62 to 8.01 and soil heavy metal concentrations under roadside trees were higher (Zn 109.03, Pb 26.49 and Cu 44.98 mg/kg) compared with those of the referred forest soils. Soils at Cheonggye2ga street showed the highest heavy metal concentrations, and seemed to be related to heavy traffic and dense hardware stores. Tree ring width significantly decreased from 1979 through 2000 for both species. There were positive correlations between Cr, Pb and Cu concentrations in soils and tree ring layers for P. occidentalis and Ni for G. biloba. However, there were negative correlations between Cr concentration in tree ring layers and tree ring width for P. occidentalis, and Ni and Cu for G. biloba. Also there were no significant correlations between climatic factors in Seoul and tree ring width.

Impact of Bank's Service Quality on Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty: Focusing on the Difference between PB Customers and Regular Customers (은행의 서비스 품질이 고객만족, 충성도에 미치는 영향: PB고객 군과 일반고객 군의 차이를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of service quality of banks on customer satisfaction and recommendation intention through empirical analysis. In particular, the focus was on the differences of the causal effect between PB(Private Banking) customers and regular customers. For this study, two groups were surveyed and 428 valid questionnaires were analyzed. The hypothesis was tested with a structural equation model using AMOS 23.0. As a result, empathy, reliability and tangibles of bank service quality had a positive(+) effect on customer satisfaction. However, responsiveness and assurance were not statistically significant. On the other hand, customer satisfaction has a positive effect on recommendation intention. This study was conducted to compare the two groups, PB customers and regular customers, and found a significant difference. In the PB customers group, tangibles had a positive effect on customer satisfaction, but no other factors were supported. On the other hand, in the regular customers group, empathy and reliability had a positive effect on customer satisfaction while responsiveness, assurance, and tangibles were not supported. Customer satisfaction were analyzed to have a positive influence on recommendation intention in both groups. These findings are academically significant by applying the SERVQUAL factors to banking services and revealing the differences between the PB customers and regular customers. In practice, it is meaningful in that it provided banks with the insights needed for future segmentation and management of customer groups.

A Study on Decision Making Factors Affecting Bank Performance: Focusing on US Banks (은행의 성과에 영향을 미치는 의사결정 요인에 관한 연구: 미국은행을 중심으로)

  • This study investigates what decisions have an impact on bank performance. A panel regression analysis was conducted using data from the financial statements of banks located in the United States from 2013 to 2022, and the effects of explanatory variables were examined through hierarchical panel regression analysis divided into financial decision-making and management decision-making. In addition, by analyzing performance separately from the creditor and shareholder perspectives (hereinafter referred to as overall) and from the shareholder perspective alone, it suggests which elements should be utilized and how to improve performance from each perspective. When a panel regression analysis was performed using only liquidity and stability, dependency on deposits and the interest coverage ratio had a statistically significant impact from the perspective of overall performance, and the debt ratio also had a statistically significant impact from the perspective of shareholder performance. When adding non-technical factors, only the labor cost ratio among non-technical factors was found to be statistically significant from the overall performance perspective, and although the non-technical factors were not statistically significant from the shareholder performance perspective, the cash ratio was found to have a statistically significant impact. Lastly, when adding technical innovation elements, the intangible asset ratio was not statistically significant from the overall performance perspective, but was significant from the shareholder performance perspective. The significance and implications of this study are that there are differences in factors that can affect the performance of overall or shareholder and that various decision-making factors can affect a bank's performance.

  • 본 연구에서는 최근에 빠르게 성장하고 있는 R&D 관련 산업의 국민경제적 위치와 타산업과의 연관관계를 파악함으로써, R&D 관련 산업의 중요성과 앞으로의 방향을 제시하기 위하여 최근 한국은행에서 발행한 2000년도와 2003년도의 산업연관분석자료를 이용하여, R&D 관련 산업구조와 정보통신산업과의 연관관계를 파악하였다. 연구결과 2000년도에 비하여 2003년도의 산업연관분석에 따를 경우에 R&D 관련 산업의 생산활동 증가는 정보통신산업의 생산 및 부가가치활동에 보다 낮은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 정보통신산업에 대한 R&D 관련 산업의 영향력이 약간 낮아지는 산업구조를 보여주기 때문에 정보통신산업 안에서 R&D 정책과 정보통신산업 밖에서 실시하는 R&D 정책에 대한 고려 및 효과측정이 동시에 이루어져야 할 필요성을 제시하는 것으로, 보다 국가 전체적이고 체계적인 R&D 정책적 고려가 필요함을 보여 주었다.

금융기관 내부마케팅 요인이 조직몰입과 고객지향성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

  • 이 연구의 목적은 금융기관에서 실시하고 있는 내부마케팅 요인이 조직몰입과 고객지향성에 미치는 영향과 이들 요인들 간의 상관관계, 영향관계, 매개효과 등을 실증적으로 연구 분석하는 데 있다. 그동안 내부마케팅에 대한 연구는 여행사, 항공사, 호텔, 요식업 등 서비스산업 종업원을 대상으로 한 연구가 대부분이었으며, 금융기관에 대한 연구는 거의 미미한 편이었다. 특히 저금리시대와 인터넷전문은행의 신설 예고 등 금융환경의 급격한 변화에 따라 최근 금융기관들은 대고객 서비스 의 중요성을 인식하고 은행원에 대한 직무능력 향상과 사기진작을 위한 다양한 내부경영전략을 확대하고 있어, 이에 대한 연구는 필요하다고 판단된다. 이에 본 연구는 금융기관의 내부마케팅 요인으로 권한위임, 경영층지원, 의사소통, 팀웍역량을 주요 구성 요인으로 보고, 이들 요인들이 은행원의 조직몰입을 높이고, 나아가서는 고객지향성에 영향을 미칠 것이라는 전제로 실증분석을 하였다. 그 결과 내부마케팅 요인 중, 권한위임, 경영층지원, 팀웍역량은 조직몰입에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있으나, 의사소통은 조직몰입에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 조직몰입이 고객지향성에 직접적으로 유의한 영향을 미치고 있으나, 조직몰입이 내부마케팅 요인과 고객지향성의 관계에서는 부분적인 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

환경(環境)-사회계정(社會計定)(ESAM)을 이용한 환경과 경제와의 상관(相關) 관계(關係) 분석(分析)

  • 자원 및 환경이 경제에 미치는 영향이 큼에도 불구하고 경제-환경의 상관관계를 분석하는 방법은 아직 초보 단계에 있다. 본 연구에서는 UN, 세계은행, 멕시코 정부가 구축한 환경계정(環境計定)을 한 국가의 경제상태를 사회계정에 도입한 후, 환경(環境)-사회계정(社會計定)(ESAM) 행렬을 구축하고, Pyatt와 Round의 분할 행렬 방법에 의해서 직 간접 파급승수 효과를 측정하여, 환경관련 외생변수가 경제변수에 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 분할 행렬 분석 결과, 농업관련 외생변수에 변화가 있으면 제조업 부문과 상업부문, 민간 서비스부문(금융, 보험, 부동산)이 가장 크게 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 레온티에프의 승수효과와 유사한 전이효과(轉移效果)는 순수한 간접효과인 순환효과의 상쇄로 인해 기존의 산업 연관분석에 의존한 분석은 경제와 환경의 관계를 과대추정할 수 도 있다는 것이다. 자본 투자가 5% 감소할 경우, 경제 전 부문에 상당한 영향을 준 것으로 나타났으며 생산부문에서는 임업, 건설업이 가장 영향을 받으며, 환경부문에서는 토양의 침식으로 인한 환경서비스의 감소가 가장 크게 영향을 받는 것으로 추정되었고 수산자원 또한 많은 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 경영분석이란 기업이나 농장의 대차대조표와 손익계산서를 바탕으로 재무상태와 경영성적의 정도를 판단하는 기술(기법)이다. 최초의 경영분석은 은행가들이 돈을 빌려간 사람의 신용상태 또는 상환능력을 파악하기 위하여 시작하였지만 오늘날에는 재무분석 뿐만 아니라 제품, 영업, 판매, 조직, 업무, 지원 모든 분야에서 경영분석이 이루어지고 있다. 대차대조표 등 재무제표를 자료로 하여 자산구성, 자본구성, 자산과 자본의 상호관계를 분석하여 경영에 투하된 자본이 어떻게 운용되는가, 그 자본의 원천은 어디에서 얻게 되었는가를 규명하는 분석이 있다. 경영분석은 다시 두 가지로 구분되는 바, 시간을 정해두고 대차대조표를 자료로 하여 일정한 시점에서의 각종 지표를 비교하는 정태(靜態)분석과 손익계산서 등을 자료로 하여 일정 기간 동안의 수익성을 파악하는 것을 동태(動態)분석이 그것이다.
