This paper analyzes the long-run effects of an environmental tax levied on motor vehicles. If the government charges their consumers the tax as much as the monetary value of the external damage due to the pollutants emitted from motor vehicles, the operation of vehicles is reduced to the socially optimal level, alike to ordinary Pigouvian taxes. Thus, air pollution abatement is realized in the short run. Moreover, in the long run, the tax leads the consumers to prefer cleaner vehicles owing to the tax burden, and so the firms produce the motor vehicles with less pollutants emitted to meet the change of demand. Therefore, the tax has the additional effect on air pollution abatement. This result is obtained from the simulation in the oligopoly model which has an interior solution when the vehicles are horizontally and vertically differentiated.

This study analyzed Korean university libraries' holdings of Western language books published in 2003 and 2013 using the KERIS union catalog with a view to investigating the changes in collection development of Western language books in the libraries. To do that, new collection indexes - holding h-index, CUI (Collection Uniqueness Index), and CCHR (Common Collection Holding Ratio) - were suggested, and they were used with basic indexes such as the number of titles, the number of books, and the number of books per title. The analysis reveals that compared to those published in 2003, the number of titles was decreased by 16.1% with those published in 2013, and the number of books dropped more sharply, by 42.2%. Also, in 2013, CCHR was decreased while CUI was increased. In terms of subject, among DDC main classes, 0XX (Generalities) showed the greatest decrease rate in both the number of titles and books because of the radical reduction of computer-related books. In terms of each library's holdings, the number of Western language books held by top libraries has been increased with those published in 2013.

Modern comics find their roots in caricatures, which have a basic element of comics as a combination of wrings and drawings. In three East Asian countries, new media, comics have been developed by joining modern arts and cartoons which is a news form of western comics. As modern comics have evolved according to situations of the three countries, they expand from the satire on the system, foreign invasions, and internal corruption to the enlightenment of the people. However, the criticism on the system lead to the oppression, and the imperialism in East Asian countries enforce the agitation, war engagement, propaganda of the colonialism on the comics. Current East Asian comics have been occupying the largest part in the world comics, and have their roots in the modern comics. So it is meaningful to investigate the characteristic of modern East Asian comics.

This study seeks to analyze vertical integration structure of Korean popular music market focused on corporation concentration and production system by applying production of culture perspective of Peterson, Subject of analysis is Melon weekly music chart(2000-2013), which is No.1 digital music distributor. The result showed vertical integration structure of Korean popular music industry was different from America. Vertical integration of American major was based on open system to be responsible for promotion and distribution by M&A of independent label but entrusted them-with total production to cope-with uncertainty of music market. On the other hand, Korean system was in charge of pure distribution only as digital service provider and it showed modified vertical structure because traditional value chain was destroyed by changing digital music environment. Especially found seriousness of oligopoly by distribution company of conglomerate affiliation. and this is harm against building healthy industry ecosystem in creative economy era and it needs improvement through study of advanced case, open system.

The aim of this paper is suggest how to control the real time reservoir operation for the optimal operation of reservoir during the draught and the rainy season. The realease and the storage lead to the achievement or the deviation losses, higher or lower than the target level. Considering this deviation as one of the losses, putting the penalty on the losses, the way of optimal reservoir operation is discussed in order to minimize the penalty losses. This study draw the deviation losses' curve depending on the operation objectie for the Daechung Dam, and apply the optimal operation to the Dam by the linear programing technique, using the slope of the deviation curve as the losses coefficience for the objective function. Conclusively, in this paper I can combine the opposing subjects -the release and the storage- as one objective function by the deviation curve, and also show how to decide the criterion relate to the real time reservoir operation by analysing to what extent and how easily the objectives can be achieved, subject to the inflows.

Banking and borrowing under the ETS may affect the low carbon technology investment level. If the indirect implementation measures are allowed, firms can gradually adjust their carbon reduction costs between implementation periods based on their carbon reduction costs and emission price forecasts. This implies that banking and borrowing may reduce or increase the level of low carbon technology R&D investment. In an oligopoly market, the effects of the measures are quite different from the ones in a perfectly competitive market. This is because the indirect implementation measures can shift market competition in Cournot competition model. The effects of banking and borrowing on the carbon reduction R&D investments depend on emission reduction costs, marginal production costs, discount rate, initial free allocation, and the cost reduction effects of R&D investment.

In this study, scale-down design of full-scale Korean Utility Helicopter (KUH) main rotor blade has been investigated. The scaled model system were designed for the measurement of aerodynamic performance, tip vortex and noise source. For the purpose of considering the same aerodynamic loads, the Mach-scale method has been applied. The Mach-scaled model has the same tip Mach number, and it also has the same normalized frequencies. That is, the Mach-scaled model is analogous to full-scale model in the view point of aerodynamics and structural dynamics. Aerodynamic scale-down process could be completed just by adjusting scaling dimensions and increasing rotating speed. In the field of structural dynamics, design process could be finished by confirming the rotating frequencies of the designed blade with the stiffness and inertial properties distributions produced by sectional design. In this study, small-scaled blade sectional design were performed by applying domestic composite prepregs and structural dynamic characteristics of designed model has been investigated.

This study was to investigate physicochemical and microbial changes that took place during the salting of chinese cabbages. Salinity(3%) that is suitable for kimchi preparation was reached when chinese cabbages were salted for seven hours in 10%, three hours in 15% and one hour in 20%. In the case of 5% it was not reached though they were salted for over twelve hours. In order to decrease salinity from 7% level of salted chinese cabbages to 3% level by soaking in tap water, 1.2 hours for leaf and three hours for patiole were spent. Volume, moisture, firmness and internal space of raw chinese cabbages were significantly decreased by salting (15%, 10 hours) : volume, 59.90%, moisture, about 31.92% and internal space rate, 35.06%. Contents of mono-and divalent cations$(K^+,\;Mg^{2+}\;and\;Ca^{2+})$ were reduced whereas $Na^+$ content was greatly increased; therefore, in the future the increase of Na-content remains open to question. By salting and washing, mold, yeast and bacteria were decreased by 58%, 40%, 45%, respectivity.

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of tree-spray of calcium formate compound extracted from oyster shell with several active agents on the calcium concentration, fruit skin shape and quality of 'Fuji' apple. The tree-spray of calcium formate compound extracted from oyster shell (Os-CaF, $52.4\;mg{\cdot}kg^{-1}$) appeared to have more effectiveness on the calcium translocation into leaves, fruit skin and flesh than control. Addition of adjuvants to Os-CaF increased calcium concentration of 'Fuji' apple when sprayed three times before harvest. Among the active agents examined, the treatment ascorbic acid and poly-vinyl alcohol (PVA) in leaves, Ag-colloidal and PVA in fruit skin, ascorbic acid, Ag-colloidal, and PVA in fruit flesh exhibited highest effectiveness. Fruit qualities (fruit weight, firmness, soluble solids, acidity and Hunter value) were not affect by Os-CaF on different concentrations and solutions of active agents.

This paper releases strategies for firms that wish to enter into online circulation business in China. SWOT based on a Korean manufacturing company teaches us better way to approach Chinese online market. Chinese online market is under oligopoly, where Alibaba and Jingdong account for about 80% of the total market. Game theory is used as a measure of threat and opportunity between Korean manufacturer and Chinese online market retailer. Game shows that they are easy to accept opportunity and sales uplift rather than low risk. Analysis shows that Korean companies should improve its products and brand competitiveness in the offline market before entering into the Chinese online retail market. They need to prepare a localization model.
