과냉각수에 분사된 증기제트의 응축특성에 관한 실험

  • 고온의 증기가 과냉각 상태의 물과 직접접촉에 의해 발생하는 응축현상(DCC Direct Contact Condensation)을 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 본 연구는 두단계로 나누어 수행하였다. 1단계 연구에서는 간단한 원형관 형태의 수평 노즐을 통하여 증기제트가 대기압 상태의 과냉각수로 분출될 때 증기제트 및 주위의 거동을 측정·분석하였다. 수조의 온도와 증기유량의 변화에 따른 증기제트의 축방향과 반경방향 온도분포와 수조 벽면에서의 동압을 측정하였으며, 고속 비디오 카메라를 사용하여 각각의 경우에 대하여 증기제트의 분출이미지를 촬영하였다. 벽면에서의 동압은 노즐의 분출구직경과 응축수의 온도에 비례하여 증가하였다. 2단계 연구에서는 몇가지 형태의 증기분사기 축소 모형에 대한 응축성능을 비교하였다. 이때에는 수조의 온도상승으로 인해 수조가 가압되는 정도를 알아보기 위해 수조를 밀봉한 상태로 실험을 수행하였다. 실험시 수조의 압력은 시간의 경과에 따라 계속적으로 증가하였으나, 이는 방출된 증기의 불완전한 응축에 의한 것은 아니고 증기의 분출과 응축으로 인한 응축수의 부피팽창과 수조 온도의 상승으로 인한 증기압의 상승 때문인 것으로 판단된다.

  • Supercooled type ice slurry system is hard to keep a proper supercooling degree when solution becomes supercooling state. This is the reason of the ice blockage in pipe or cooling part due to an unstable cooling state. In this study, a cooling experiment was performed to pressurized solution in a stationary state. The behaviors during the supercooled aqueous solution were investigated at fixed flow rate of brine and aqueous solution of ethylene glycol 7 mass%. Also the effect to the freezing point of supercooled aqueous solution was investigated to the different pressure 101, 202, 303, and 404 kPa. At results, the pressure of the aqueous solution in the cylinder increased the supercooling degree increased and dissolution of supercooled point decreased.

  • Being used the three kinds of aqueous solution of tobacco extracts as a new experimental material, experiment and theoretical analysis are performed. Measurements are made with a apparatus designed and constructed by the author.The average diameter of the ice crystals is 0.04-0.1cm between 0.2 and $0.6^{\circ}C$ of the subcooling temperature of the solution. The growth rate of ice crystals in direction of axies A, $V_a$ is in proportion to the subcooling temperature, viz; $v_a=0.058{\Delta}t_b,\;where\;{\Delta}t_b<0.1^{\circ}C$ The growth rate of ice crystal have to be considered not only the mass diffusion and the heat transfer of rate controlling but also the process in ice crystallization. The growth rate of ice crystal is found to be independent on the concentration of the solution and a diameter of ice crystal.

Quantification of Realistic Discharge Coefficients for the Critical Flow Model of RELAP5/MOD3/KAERl (RELAP5 / MOD3/ KAERI의 임계유동모델을 위한 실제적 배출계수의 정량화)

  • The realistic discharge coefficient for the critical How model of RELAP5/AOD3/KAERI are determined for the subcooled and too-phase critical flow by assessments of nine MARVIKEN Critical flew Test(CFT). The selected test runs include a high initial subcooling and large nozzle aspect rat-io(L/D). The code assessment results show that RELAP5/MOD3/KAERI over-predicts the subcooled critical flow and under-predicts the two-phase critical flow. Using these result, the realistic discharge coefficients of critical flow models are quantified by an iterative method. The realistic discharge coefficients are determined to be 0.89 for the subcooled critical How and 1.07 for the two-phase critical flow, and the associated standard deviations are 0.0349 and 0.1189, respectively. The results obtained from this study can be applied to calculate the realistic system response of Large Break Loss of Coolant Accident and to evaluate the realistic Emergency Core Cooling System performance.

Experimental Study of Liquid Oxygen Sub-cooling by Helium Injection (헬륨분사를 통한 액체산소 과냉각에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Test of liquid oxygen sub-cooling by helium injection, which is one of the method of temperature conditioning of cryogenic propellant in liquid propulsion rocket, is performed. The sub-cooling effect at different He injection flow rate with the same initial liquid oxygen mass is compared. Test results showed liquid oxygen temperature decrease of $5\sim6^{\circ}C$ under test condition. And the required time for cooling is inversely proportional to He injection flow rate.

  • A refrigerant-subcooling refrigeration system consisted of a typical single vapor-compression refrigeration cycle, a subcooler, and an ice storage tank. The degree of subcooling at the exit of the condenser can be increased by the heat exchange between the subcooler and the ice storage tank. The cold heat in the ice storage tank was stored by using the refrigeration cycle during night time and then used to absorb the heat from the subcooler during daytime. The performance of the refrigerant-subcooling refrigeration system was measured by varying the degree of subcooling. In addition, the performance characteristics of the present system were compared with those of a conventional refrigeration system. The mass flow rate of the present system was higher than that of the conventional system due to the increase in the degree of subcooling. Generally, the refrigerant-subcooling system showed superior performance to the conventional refrigeration system.

  • 액체 상태의 물질이 매우 급속하게 냉각되면 일반적으로 과냉각액체(supercooled liquid) 상태에 도달한다. 과냉각액체는 더 낮은 온도에서 유리상(glass phase)으로 상전이를 일으킨다고 알려져 있는데, 이때 나타나는 동역학적 불균일성(dynamic heterogeneity)은 상전이를 기술하는데 중요한 역할을 한다. 그러나 일반적인 액체의 상전이를 연구할 때 주로 사용되던 상관함수(correlation function)으로는 이러한 불균일성을 정량적으로 표현하기 어렵기 때문에 동역학적 민감도(dynamic susceptibility)나 multi-time correlation function 등 동역학적 성질(dynamic property)로부터 특징적인 시간 개념 및 거리 개념을 도출하려는 연구가 많이 진행되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 일반적으로 특징적인 거리 개념을 도출해 내는데 사용되는 4점 밀도 상관함수(four-point density correlation function)인 dynamic susceptibility(${\chi}^4$)가 입자 밀도의 요동(fluctuation)의 상관관계(correlation)가 지속되는 특징적인 시간 개념에 대한 정보 또한 포함하고 있다는 점에 주목하였다. 이에 따라 ${\chi}^4$의 시간에 대한 적분인 ${\tau}_4$를 새롭게 도입하였으며 그 결과로 ${\tau}_4$는 three-time density correlation function으로부터 도출한 ${\tau}_{Dh}$와 같은 축척(scaling)을 가지는 것을 확인하였다. 과냉각액체에 대한 장난감 모형(toy model)의 일종인 "Lennard-Jones potential 하에서 운동하는 서로 다른 두 종류의 입자들"을 연구에 사용하였다.

  • In this paper, to satisfy the temperature requirement of turbopump-inlet condition, the cooling of cryogenic propellant is performed at the simulated suction-line of the Launch Vehicle. The cooling method is by using gas helium injection. This paper investigates the effect of helium injection on liquid nitrogen, which simulates the liquid oxygen. By using helium injection, subcooling of liquid nitrogen can be achieved and in the condition of v/vL≒0.8min-¹ approximately in four minutes subcooling temperature can be achieved.

  • Sub-cooling of cryogenic propellant by helium injection is one of the most effective methods for suppressing bulk boiling and keeping sub-cooled liquid oxygen before rocket launch. In order to design the cooling system, understanding of the limitations of heat and mass transfer is required. In this paper, an analytical model for the helium injection system is presented. This model's main feature is the representation of bubbling system using finite-rate heat transfer and instantaneous mass transfer concept. With this simplified approach, the effect of helium injection to liquid oxygen system under several circumstances is examined. Experimental results along with simulations of single bubble rising in liquid oxygen and bubbling system are presented with various helium injection flow rates, and with change of oxygen chamber pressure.
