The goal of this study was to apply an expectancy-value model(Wigfield & Eccles, 2000) to explain changes in six multi-ethnic students' achievement motivation in mathematics during sixth (2012) to eighth (2014) grades. In order to achieve this goal, we used narrative research methods. Although individual students' achievement motivation and mathematics related life experiences differed, there are some common factors influencing their motivation development, especially (a) roles played by parents and teachers; (b) assessment of peers' competencies; (c) past learning experiences related to mathematics curriculum; (d) perception of the relationship between mathematics competency and other subjects; (e) home backgrounds; and (f) perceived task values. In this study, we achieved some insight into why some multi-ethnic students are willing to study hard to get good scores while others are uninterested in mathematics, and why some multi-ethnic students are likely to pursue new mathematical tasks and persist despite challenges, while others easily give up studying mathematics in the face of adversity. We argue that in order to increase and sustain multi-ethnic students' achievement motivation, educators and parents should recognize that motivation is contextually formulated in the intersection of current people, time, and space, not a personal entity formed in an individual's mind. The findings of this study shed light on the development of achievement motivation and can inform efforts to develop multi-ethnic students' positive motivation, which might influence their mathematics achievement and success in school.

Currently, most of the science and engineering students who enter the university are required to take general chemistry and general chemistry experimental subjects. However they have different learning bases about learning basic science subjects. Regarding college entrance examinations, the current system is used for selection, so they have different levels of basic knowledge. But, without considering this situation, all of the students in science and engineering are participating in the same basic science class, some learners are relatively easy to adapt to learning, while others experience extreme difficulties and suddenly give up. This is true. The purpose of this study is to develop a scale to measure the ability to learn general chemistry of freshmen in science and engineering at H University in the Seoul Metropolitan area and to analyze what kind of learning backgrounds are related to learners. The results show that gender and major are not related to general chemistry learning major, and it we found that there is a close relationship to the relationship between their major and chemistry, the level of the chemistry learning in the high school, and the selection of chemistry in college entrance examinations. In addition, it was found that the degree of feeling that pre-learning is beneficial to current learning and that it is common with current learning is also a factor related to general chemistry learning aptitude. Therefore, in this study, we propose two ways of presenting and promoting a guide for learning by majors, and establishing a step-by-step learning system considering the level of students.
The purpose of this study was to research the effects of socio-demographic factors and values in each group on satisfaction with life by categorizing the activity types of the elderly into volunteer work and economic activities. The subjects of this study were 60 years an old higher. The questionnaires were categorized depending on activity types and collected. The voluntary work group consisted of 201 people (76 males, 36.8% and 125 females, 62.2%), The economic activity group consisted of 219 people (127 males, 58.0% and 92 females, 42.0%). The SPSS 14.0 Windows program was used to analyze data. Frequency, average, standard deviation, factor analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, One-Way ANOVA analysis, and hierarchical multiple linear regression were analyzed. The major findings of this study indicate that the elderly in the voluntary work group have a high collectivism value, higher income earned by performing economic activities, and good cognitive health affected by a high satisfaction with life. From these research results, it was proved that a collectivism value is a common factor that affects satisfaction with life in both of the economic activity group. Those who were older had a traditional collectivism value. The voluntary work group showed a stronger collectivism value and higher satisfaction with life than the economic activity group. Thus, the diverse types of voluntary work should be developed and a systematic system should be established as methods for improving quality of life and satisfaction.

In the event of fire, it is necessary to put out the fire within a golden time to minimize personal and property damages. To this end, it is necessary for fire engines to arrive at the site quickly. This study established a fire engine travel time estimation model to secure the golden time by identifying road and environmental factors that influence fire engine travel time in the case of fire by examining data on fire occurrence with GIS DB. The study model for the estimation of fire engine travel time (model 1) covers variables by applying correlation analysis and regression analysis with dummy variables and predicts travel time for different types of places where fire may occur (models 2, 3, 4). Analysis results showed that 17 siginificant independent variables are derived in model 1 and the fire engine travel time differs depending on the types of places where fire occurs. Key variables(travel distance, number of lane, type of road) that are included commonly in the 4 models were identified. Variables identified in this study can be utilized as indicators for research related to travel time of emergency vehicles and contribute to securing the golden time for emergency vehicles.

The purpose of this study was to verify whether the Interactive Cinematherapy Course developed based on discussion is still effective for emotional intelligence and empathic ability, even in a college lecture environment where courses are given online due to COVID-19. The subjects were enrolled in the Interactive Cinematherapy Course and experienced either an online (N=139) or offline (N=212) course before and after COVID-19. To the offline course, students were given structural questions and conducted discussions, whereas the online course students were given feedback via e-mail to substitute discussion. The results were as follows. Compared to the offline courses, students in both online/offline courses commonly showed an increase in "Other's emotion appraisal", "Cognitive Empathy", "Perspective taking", "Fantasy", and "Emphatic Concern". The online course students showed an increase in the "Use of emotion", while offline course students showed an increase in "Self emotion appraisal". This shows that online and offline courses do not have a significant difference in effects. In qualitative research, the lecturer's communication ability and concern helped enhance the effectiveness of the Interactive Cinematherapy Course given online. This implies that communication between the lecturer and students and role of the lecturer are more important than the online environment.
This study was conducted to classify segmental group based on the factors of foodservice motivation and then conducted a survey for one month from July 15 to August 14, 2021 to analyze the influence of demographic characteristics, usage behavior, and motivation on eating out choice behavior. A total of 310 copies were used for empirical analysis. The result is as follows. First, males showed higher task type than females, and females showed higher number of change type, gastronomic type, and fit type. Second, in demographic characteristics, all groups showed strong motivation for foodservice in married people aged 31-40 and 41-50. Third, in the restaurant selecting behavior difference between the segmental groups according to the motivation for foodservice the most preferred menu was korean food for fit type, gourmet type, duty type and western food was the highest in the change type. Fourth, in the ordering method of difference in restaurant selecting behavior among segmental groups, all four groups showed higher order type than unlimited type or buffets type. The limitations of this study are limited to the food field and analysis should be done, but the results of the study on specific food items have not been obtained. Therefore, it is hoped that the future research will be conducted by designating specific food fields.
This study analyzed the effects of SMEs' open innovation capabilities and organization capabilities to lead these innovations on corporate performance. For this purpose, an empirical analysis was conducted targeting 250 small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) employee. The empirical study results are as follows. Absorptive capability, relational capability, CEO's innovativeness, employee's innovativeness, and decision-making openness had a significant positive (+) effect on the non-financial performance of SMEs. It was analyzed that multiplicative capability did not significantly affect non-financial performance. On the other hand, absorptive capability, relational capability, CEO's innovativeness, and decision-making openness had a significant positive (+) effect on the financial performance of SMEs. It was analyzed that multiplicative capability and employee's innovativeness did not significantly affect financial performance. Decision-making openness and absorptive capability were analyzed as factors that have an most important influence on a company's financial and non-financial performance. Based on these research results, academic and practical implications were presented.
As for international migration, family reunification is a key factor for the well-being and social integration of migrants. The UN ensures the right to family unity for the beneficiaries of complementary forms of protection. That includes those who are not recognized as refugees, but are nevertheless at risk of serious harm upon return to their country of origin, and thus are in need of international protection to the same degree as refugees. Although the Korean government provides humanitarian stay permits as complementary forms of protection, it does not guarantee family reunification as it does for refugees. This study aimed to examine the family reunification systems in Sweden, Ireland, Australia and Canada and to propose policy implications for family reunification of humanitarian status holders in Korea. The results showed that these countries commonly ensures the rights to family reunification although permission periods and scope vary by country. This study concludes that the Korean government should develop a legal system to ensure family reunification for humanitarian status holders since it is guaranteed as a basic human right by international covenants and promotes positive integration to countries of stay.
This study was conducted to find out the improvement of water-logging injury which is an important factor of yield loss in sesame. Water-logging was treated at 10, 25, 40, 55 and 70 days after emergence for 24, 48 and 72 hours in sesame variety 'Ansanggae'. Some important agronomic characters were investigated after treatment. The important agronomic characters such as plant height, leaf area, dry matter weight, capsule setting stem length, number of capsules per plant, ripenning rate and 1,000 grain weight were most susceptible at 55 days after emergence by the water-logging treatment, and the longer period of water-logging, the more susceptible. Allmost of the useful agronomic characters were able to get over injury of water-logging only within 25days after emergence, but could not get it over since 40days. Grain yield was decreased due to the water-logging treatment by 69 to 86% in 55 days after emergence that is most susceptible stage for water-logging as compared with the untreated control which is 13g per pot, and the longer period of water-logging induced the lower yield. Oil content of grain showed significant decrease only in 55 days after emergence but the composition of fatty acid did not influenced by the water-logging.
In Small and Medium-sized Enterprises(SMEs) compared to major, competence of CEO relatively has a large impact on management performance, so the biggest factor to strengthen the competitiveness is the competence of CEO. Meanwhile, a consultant is defined as a subject of execution that directly and indirectly participates in management by inducing objective and rational decision-making on various management issues and problems facing companies. The management expertise, problem-solving skills, communication skills, insights, and leadership that a consultant must have in order to perform his or her duties are the same as the role and capabilities that the CEO must have in enhancing the company's performance and competitiveness. Therefore, through previous studies, this study divided consultant competences of CEO into job competence, communication competence, learning competence, and innovation competence and tried to understand whether those competences affect corporate's innovation performance and management performance. The survey was conducted on SMEs and the analysis techniques were reliability and validity analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation analysis. As a result, it was found that the CEO's job competence, communication competence, learning competence, and innovation competence had a significant effect on innovation performance of the company, and second, innovation performance had a significant effect on the management performance. Through, this study derived a common factor of consultant competences of SMEs CEO, and derived implications for the competence characteristics of the CEO necessary to improve the performance of SMEs.
