Introduction to Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance Technique for Leaching Study of Metals (금속 침출연구를 위한 전기화학적 미소수정진동자저울 기술 소개)

  • Electrochemical Quartz Crystal microbalance is a tool that is capable of measuring nanogram-scale mass change on electrode surface. When applying alternating voltage to the quartz crystal with metal electrode formed on both sides, a resonant frequency by inverse piezoelectric effect depends on its thickness. The resonant frequency changes sensitively by mass change on its electrode surface; frequency increase with metal dissolution and decrease with metal deposition on the electrode surface. The relationship between resonant frequency and mass change is shown by Sauerbrey equation so that the mass change during metal dissolution can be measured in real time. Especially, it is effective in the case of reaction mechanism and rate studies accompanied by precipitation, volatilization, compound formation, etc. resulting in difficulties on ex-situ AA or ICP analysis. However, it should be carefully considered during EQCM experiments that temperature, viscosity, and hydraulic pressure of solution, and stress and surface roughness can affect on the resonant frequency. Application of EQCM was shown as a case study on leaching of platinum using aqueous chlorine for obtaining activation energy. A platinum electrode of quartz crystal oscillator with 1000 Å thickness exposed to solution was used as leaching sample. Electrogenerated chlorine as oxidant was purged and its concentration was controlled in hydrochloric acid solution. From the experimental results, platinum dissolution by chlorine is chemical reaction control with activation energy of 83.5 kJ/mol.

Double-Mode SAW Filter for Mobile Communication System (이중 모드 결합에 의한 이동 통신 기기용 SAW 필터)

  • In this paper, at first, the characteristics of double mode SAW (DMS) resonator are analysed by applying the wave guide model and coupled mode theory to 1-port resonator. The DMS resonators (2-pole), which are arranged in a close, parallel configuration of two identical 1-port resonators on a single plate, and 4-pole DMS filters are designed and fabricated at the center frequency of 150.15 MHz with 3-dB bandwidth of 80 KHz. The empirical design characteristics are obtained from the comparison of experimental and theoretical values resulted from several fabrications, and the narrow bandpass filters are implemented on the basis of the above empirical results, which can be used to mobile communication systems. A ST-cut quartz substrate is selected for the stable temperature-frequence characteristics, and high resolution photolithography is applied to the fabrication of filter to get the fine electrode patterns.

  • It is an analysis about electromagnetic wave which is generated from a Spark plug cable of Distributorless spark ignition system. In case of Distributorless spark ignition system, high frequency generation is an ignition coil and Spark plug cable and Spark plug could be activated with electromagnetic wave radiation antenna. I calculated a resonant frequency with HFSS by measuring length of Spark plug cable and Spark plug. The antenna was considered as ${\lambda}/4$ monopole antenna in this calculation. According to power spectrum measurement analysis of engine room radiated electromagnetic wave and calculated Resonant frequency, it is possible to find out that the Distributorless spark ignition system radiates high frequency energy in certain frequency band.

A Design of K-Band Low Phase noise Oscillator by Direct Coupling of K-band Dielectric Resonator (유전체 공진기의 직접결합에 의한 K-Band 저위상잡음 발진기 설계)

  • In this paper, we analysed coupling coefficient between dielectric resonator of high dielectric constant and microstrip line to design for low phase noise dielectric resonator by direct coupling. Also we analysed phase noise of dielectric resonance oscillator with parallel feedback circuit to complement Q by high dielectric constant. We obtained a result from high-stability dielectric oscillator which is optimum designed through analysis of dielectric resonance oscillator phase noise and coupling coefficient. The result is that the phase noise was -83.3dBc/Hz@1KHz at 20.25GHz when we used about 3.6 coupling coefficient and ${\epsilon}_r$=30 dielectric resonator of 20.25GHz dielectric resonance oscillator. As a result, we suggested the direct-connect design method by frequency multiplication mode to prevent phase noise loss at K-Band.

  • 본 논문에서는 자기공명 방식 무선전력전송 시스템의 공진기 재질에 따른 전송 특성을 분석하였다. 12.74MHz의 공진 주파수를 갖는 무선전력전송 시스템을 구현하여 공진 코일에 초전도 코일을 적용하였으며, 비교를 위해 구리를 이용한 공진 코일을 제작하였다. 이 때 network analyzer를 이용하여 S-parameter $S_{11}$을 측정하였다. 실험결과, 초전도 공진 코일을 적용하였을 때 구리코일보다 반사계수가 높은 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문은 차량용 12V 배터리 전원을 이용한 캠핑용 Induction Cooker를 설계한다. 캠핑용 Induction Cooker의 전력변환장치에 적합한 DC-link 전압 (VDC) 및 동작 주파수(fsw)를 선정하기 위해 각 조건에 따른 전력변환장치의 공진 네트워크를 설계한다. 또한 이론적 분석 및 시뮬레이션을 통해 각 조건별 전력반도체 소자에서 발생하는 손실 비교 분석을 수행한다. 분석 결과를 통해 공진 네트워크의 적합한 VDC 및 fsw를 선정한다.

Initial Changes of Implant Stability from Installation during Early Bone Healing (임플란트 식립 후 초기 안정성의 변화)

  • The concept of implant stability was basically originated from the relative condition of bone-implant interface and has some meanings for evaluation of that interface. In addtion, it has been used for the investigation of initial bone healing process after fixture installation because a degree of micromotion around interface can affect unfavorable clinical results. The purpose of this study is to investigate the mode of initial bone healing from fixture installation through prospective trial. Thirty fixtures were consecutively installed in mandibles of 26 patients with single tooth loss area and then healing abutment were secured for one-stage surgery meothod. Resonance frequency analysis was performed with one week interval during 12 weeks and periapical radiographs were taken at each month. Although marginal bone level change was not shown through observation period (P>0.05), statistical difference of implant stability was shown through 4 and 6 week (P<0.05) and was not shown after 6 week (P>0.05) according to the bone quality. Initial bone healing process is a successive process of bone resorption and favorable bone healing result might be postulated at 4 week interval after installation through RFA.

A Resonant-type Step-up DC/DC Converters with Piezoelectric Transducer (압전 트랜스듀서를 이용한 승압형 공진형 직류-직류 컨버터)

  • In this paper, a magnetic-less dc-dc switching converter realizing an integrable power conversion system is described. Instead of magnetic devices, the inductive impedance range of piezoelectric transducers is utilized to store and resonate the energy for soft-switching. Piezoelectric devices have no windings and deliver the power by the electrodes, which lead to mass product through semiconductor-manufacturing process. This paper presents a resonant-type step-up dc-dc power converter employing a disk-type piezoelectric transducer, analyzing the operation principles and the frequency control characteristics. Also, a topology extension of the single stage converter into cascaded multi-stage is presented and analyzed with the operation principles and control characteristics. For verification of the analysis, a 10W output dc-dc power converter hardware was implemented. The hardware experiments shows a good frequency control and power efficiency greater than 96% in the single stage. A hardware prototype of the extended multi-stage one was also realized and tested. The results shows that the converter has the same frequency control performance and high efficiency such as 93%.

An Investigation of human body influence on Embroidered Textile Dipole Antenna (자수된 직물 다이폴안테나에 미치는 인체영향에 대한 분석)

  • In this paper, we investigated the aptness of embroidered textile dipole antenna as a wearable antenna. We designed an 2.45GHz ISM band embroidered textile dipole antenna on polyester textile. We investigated its characteristics depends on 3 variables, thickness of textile(ttextile), distance between textile and surface of body(gbody) and conductance of surface of body(𝜎body). Thickness of textile(ttextile) was affecting on the antenna resonance frequency(fo). As the conductance of surface of body(𝜎body) was increased the antenna resonance frequency(fo) and the antenna gain were increased slightly. The increment of the distance between textile and surface of body(gbody) caused relatively large increment of the antenna resonance frequency(fo) and the antenna gain. From the results, in the case of designing an embroidered textile dipole antenna as a wearable antenna we should consider carefully the two variables, distance between textile and surface of body(gbody) and thickness of textile(ttextile). Due to its large variation, the distance between textile and surface of body(gbody) may be a technical barrier in designing embroidered textile dipole antenna.

Analysis of Phase Noise Characteristics of Voltage-Control Microwave Oscillator (전압제어 마이크로파 발진기의 위상잡음 특성 분석)

  • 본 논문은 디지털 위성용 하향변환기에 적용되는 고안정 전압제어 마이크로파 발진기의 위상잡음 특성을 분석하였다. 전압제어 마이크로파 발진기는 능동소자의 비선형 등가모델과 궤환회로의 영향을 고려하여 유전체 공진 마이크로파 발진기를 위상잡음과 출력 전력에 절충(trade-off)하여 설계하였고, 13.25GHz의 발진주파수에서 출력이득은 12dBm이고, 위상잡음은 옵셋 주파수 100KHz 에서 -107.91dBc를 보였다. 바렉터 다이오드 동작에 의한 튜닝 범위는 2MHz/V로 위상동기 발진기에 응용할 수 있음을 보였다.
