  • Construction delay claim occurs more often than any other claim. Delay claim impacts adversely the company's existence as well as the project's monetary problem. Because the calculation of the delay is not quantitative, owing not to have enough evidence, it is hard to solve evenly the delay claim. So, it is need to cumulate structurely the construction data or evidence during the construction. This study considers the established study about construction delay claim database and the problems and then presents the relation method between phase schedule and database. Finally, this study established the productivity claim database modeling for construction project through conceptual database modeling and logical database modeling based on information needed to make construction productivity database. So. the purpose of the study is to establish the datamodel for productivity management of construction project for calculating the delay days considering the lost productivity.

  • Automatic recommendation system of panel pool should be designed to support universal, expertness, fairness, and reasonableness in the process of review of proposals. In this research, we apply the theory of probabilistic ontology to measure relatedness between terms in the classification of academic domain, enlarge the number of review candidates, and rank recommendable reviewers according to their expertness. In addition, we construct a researcher network connecting among researchers according to their various relationships like mentor, coauthor, and cooperative research. We use the researcher network to exclude inappropriate reviewers and support fairness of reviewer recommendation process. Our methodology recommending proper reviewers is verified from experts in the field of proposal examination. It propose the proper method for developing a resonable reviewer recommendation system.

  • In this paper, a frequency selective surface(FSS) with bandstop operation for radio-frequency spectrum management is presented. The proposed FSS is composed of patterns of fractal-based miniaturized unit cells for stable performance for angles of incidence and polarizations. For practical applications requiring high productivity and environmental compatibility, we fabricated a film-type FSS by screen-printing using Ag ink, rather than a conventional manufacturing method using a printed circuit board. To validate this study, we measured the transmission characteristics of the proposed FSS using the free-space measurement method, and observed the received strength of signal penetrating the FSS film applied to a wall.

  • This study represents construction progress management model based on quality inspection process in addition to cost-schedule integration. Quality inspection process cycle, resource estimate as progress measurement parameter, hierarchical structure of schedule, and inspection lots linking quality inspection to resource estimate are addressed as four main information areas. The authors established several process models to give a structure and correlations among information elements on each of these areas. Applying the process models proposed, an information system was implemented and utilized for nuclear power plant construction. It reveals that the system achieves accurate and objective progress information in near real time with significantly reduced time and effort as well as administrative efficiencies from making quality inspection process online.

  • The kinetics of the transesterification of dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) with ethylene glycol (EG) was studied in a batch reactor. Bishydroxyethyl terephthalate (BHET), which is poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) monomer, can be produced by the transesterification reaction. Zinc acetate was used as a catalyst. Previous kinetic studies was carried out in a semi-batch reactor where generated methanol was removed so that reverse reactions were not considered in the kinetic expressions, resulting in inaccuracy of the kinetic model. Mathematical models of a batch reactor for the tranesterification reaction were developed and used to characterize the reaction kinetics and the composition distribution of the reaction products. More accurate models than previous ones were obtained and found to have a good agreement between model predictions and experimental data. Effect of process variables on the esterification reaction was investigated based on the experimental and simulation results.

  • This paper describes on-line retrainable RBF network in order to control the coiling temperature for a hot coil strip at Pohang Iron & Steel Company(POSCO). The proposed neural network can be used for improving conventional rule-based lookup table, which generates a heat transmission coefficient. To cope with time-varying characteristics of hot coil process, additional synaptic weights for on-line retraining purposes are introduced to hidden-to-output weights of conventional RBF network. Those weights are locally adjusted to newly incoming test data while preserving old information trained with off-line past data. Hence the effect of catastrophic interference can be greatly alleviated with the proposed network. In addition, rejection scheme is introduced for reliability concerns. From the experimental results applied to the actual process, it is noticed that overall control performance represents about 2.2% increase compared to the conventional one.

  • Reactive ion etching (RIE) characteristics of InP in the $Cl_2$/ CH_4/H_2$ discharges was investigated, as a function of the rf power, substrate temperature and gas composition. It was observed that the etch rate increased as the rf power, sample temperature and/or $Cl_2$ gas concentration increased. Etch rate of about 0.9$\mu\textrm{m}$/min was obtained at the optimum condition of 150W rf power, $180^{\circ}C$ substrate temperature and $10Cl_2$ /$5CH_4/85H_2$ gas ratio. Polymer formation was completely suppressed by adding $Cl_2$ to the $CH_4$ /$H_2$ discharges.

  • This paper investigated the drop characteristics of oleo pneumatic type landing gear for small aircraft and the effects of cavitations in modeling the landing gear system. The landing gear system employed a simple oleo pneumatic type damper without a metering pin. In general, oleo-pneumatic type landing gears are light-weighted because of it's simplicity, yet they offer excellent impact absorption characteristics. In this study, the landing gear system was modeled using MSC ADAMS, which offers a drop simulation module. After modeling the system, a series of testing was conducted, using a prototype landing gear system, to validate the analysis model and simulation results. The effect of cavitation was considered in the simulation model to obtain a better correlation between the test and simulation results. The results show that adding the cavitation effect in the simulation model significantly improved the simulation model and better captured the dynamic behaviors of the landing system. Using the 'cavitation' model, dynamics characteristics of the landing gear were further evaluated for other landing conditions, such as landing in various angles of slopes.

  • Compare to other industrial sites, the civil construction work not only takes longer time but also has made of complicated processes, such as the integrated management, process control, and quality control until the completion. However, it is hard to take control the construction sites, since numerous issues are always emerged. The study purposes on providing the dataset to synthetically manage and monitor the civil construction site, main design, drawings, process, construction cost, and others at real-time by using the low altitude close-range aerial images, based on UAV, and the GPS surveying method for treating the three-dimensional spatial information quickly and accurately. As a result, we could provide the latest information for the quick decision-making following from planning to completion of the construction, and objective site evaluation by the high-resolution three-dimensional spatial information and drawings. Also, the present map, longitudinal map, and cross sectional view are developed to provide various datasets rapidly, such as earthwork volume table, specifications, and transition of ground level.

  • This study was performed to investigate the increasing of immune activities from Centella asiatica L. Urban by several solvent extraction with ultrasonification process. Ethanol extracts at $60^{\circ}C$ and associated with ultrasofication showed more 15% yield than normal $100^{\circ}C$ water extracts. And ethanol extracts showed higher yield than water extraction at each process. It can be concluded that yield due to polarity of compound in C. asiatica from HPLC peak. All of extracts from C. asiatica revealed lower cytotoxicity than 32%. The ethanol extracts with ultrasofication showed higher promotion on human B and T cell growth, about 10% compared to the control. The secretion of IL-6 and TNF-a was also enhanced as $4.86\;{\times}\;10^{-4}\;pg/cell$ and $5.73\;{\times}\;10^{-4}\;pg/cell$ each, by the addition ethanol extracts with ultrasonification to T cell. NK cell activation was improved up to 10% higher than the control, through adding the samples. It can be concluded that the ethanol extracts from C. asiatica has higher immune activities followed by ultrasonification process, possibly, by higher yield than conventional extraction process.
