Studies prosecuted on relics in those 17 bronze workshops that have been thus far excavated show that these workshops may be roughly classified into a royal workshop, a state-operated workshop and a private workshop depending upon by whom they were operated. Workshops in the Gyeongju area developed from a small royal handicraft manufacturing to a large state-operated handicraft manufacturing scale, and then later on gradually changed to a private handicraft manufacturing industry. The royal bronze workshops were operated in a small scale, as shown from the relics excavated at Wolseong(月城), Imhaejeonji(Anapji:雁鴨池) and their neighborhood places around Hwangnam_dong(皇南洞). The state-operated bronze workshops are concentrated upon one point around Dongcheon-dong(東川洞), Gyeongju city. On the other hand, in the state-operated workshop stage, a broad street was built by a workshop, which is presumed to aim to thoroughly transport materials needed for the workshop. And the point that wastes from bronze workshops were used for road repairs indicates that road repair works were carried at the bronze workshops near the road. The private workshop as a new type of workshop was operated by the aristocracy. For that purpose, craftsmen belonging to state-operated workshops or individual artisans were absorbed into the aristocracy-operated workshops. These types of workshops were pervaded throughout the city. When private workshops came to emerge in the houses of the aristocracy, the operating subjects of workshops began to change from state-operated to private workshops. Temple workshops were located at a Buddhist temple within the Court and directly produced things needed for the court, including bronze foundries. As aforementioned, through the presence of bronze workshops operated in the Silla Court, we can identify the relationships between their technical level and trading areas and among their origin, supply and demand sources, along with phases of social life in those days.

The Wiener Werkstatte created the most avangarde textile designs in Europe at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. This study is to examine the distinctive characteristics of the textile design of the Wiener Werkstatte. The purpose of this study is to analyze the textile designs of the various designers who had contributed to shape the characteristics of the Wiener Werkstatte at various stages, and to catagorize the designs according to the subject matter, the design sources, the layout, the design principles, and the usages. The textiles of the first half of the Wiener Werkstatte are wovens for the homefurnishings. They were used as upolsteries. Wall coverings, and curtains in the commissioned buildings and houses which Hoffman designed and built in conjunction with the Wiener Werkstatte. The designs of this period have the simple and bold characteristics using less then three colors in a design. The subject matters used in the designs are firstly, stylized animals and plant forms; secondly, the purely geometric forms derived from the architural buildings. The textiles of the latter half of the Wiener Werkstatte put more emphasis on the printed textiles for the women's apparels. The textile designs of this period are categorized into four groups : firstly, the designs that stylized plant forms ; secondly, reinterpretational designs; thirdly, ethnic designs : and fourthly, the geometric art deco designs. The number of colors used in a design range up to 7 colors and all over, stripe, and ogee layouts are used.
Keiji Kobo is a unique self-generated design research group in Japan, which was founded in 1928 when Bauhaus movement was in its peak, and which lasted ten years until the end of the Second World War, when any activity of the group became virtually impossible due to the war. With insight to see the future, the group aimed at Modern Design advocating a new spirit in architecture, and played a significant role in prosperity of Japanese Modern Design assimilating Western design trends. Pursuing of craft works for everyday life--practical furniture works--Keiji Kobo actively executed various projects to realize modern philosophy. The range of the works of this group was very large: survey, mock-up, experiment, research, exhibition, lecture, order-based sale, advertising and writing. The works of the group were oriented to serious academicism, not compromising with commercialism. Considering the peculiar political situation such as Japanese Militarism, the spirit of functionalism that the group pursued was surprisingly academical and pure. This group was relatively small and clumsy, which lasted as short as around ten years. However, strong motivation was in their seemingly quiet movements, and the influence of the group cannot be underestimated even with today's criteria. There were a number of pioneers who contributed to today's prosperity of Japan and Keiji Kobo can be estimated to be one of the pioneers in the field of design. It was found that the contemporary intellectuals hoped that the committment and activity of the group would contribute to modernization of the life quality of ordinary people. In a sense, Keiji Kobo can be estimated to be a little Japanese equivalent for Bauhaus that could not fully bloom.
Because it is impossible to form a culture. To correctly read the code unless the consumer is considering skater that can be shared in the emotion of the characters and the consumer culture that supply. May be possible to force the active dissemination of education shall ceramic crafts culture. We need the ceramics craft culture in this sense also once again confirmed the importance of education and redevelopment. The workshop enabled to the Ceramic Study presented based on the importance of education in workshop operations Activation is required in order to plan the education and above all a culture of catheter positioned in the area of contemporary craft. Such as teaching methods and ways to activate.
Personalized production represents the changing production and consumption in the fourth industrial revolution. Manufacturers in each field are making great efforts to introduce this concept, but it is difficult to find a flow of change such as in the craft industry, especially in the workshop system. I will try to measure the possibility of fusing personalized production in the craft workshop in accordance with the changing production and consumption. To do this, we examined the concept and examples of mass custom production, which is a similar system, and defined the customized production. Then, we recognized the production status of the modern craft workshop and consequently examined the possibility of convergence based on two basic points of productivity and communication.
The Bauhaus movement can be said to be the by-product of forming work pursued through the method of constituents even under endless discord between the so-called modern ages and anti-modern ages rather than to say that it was progressed consistently on the assumption of a design. Accordingly, all instruments of Bauhaus education which contributed to form the source of the modern ages realized educational value related to the actual problem at the point of time when the student evercomes all internal and production can be managed most effectively under one system was originated inevitably. The most exential point of the work of Bauhaus workshop is the fact that all products show homogeneity as time passes, which is appeared as the result of the spirit of consciously developed community based on cooperation between various characters and personalities. Also, the homogeneity does not exist in formative detailed aspect appeared externally but in the basis of effort having produced things simply and faithfully, and on the other hand, in accordance with essential rule. Therefore, the original form of Bauhaus products can be said not to be fashionable but the crystal of work process at the workshop through much thought and contemplation in view of endowed form following art, technology and economy.
Thermal conditions in practice at the traditional bronze workshop of the Korean Folk Village in Yongin were examined along with the microstructures of some high tin bronze objects made there. Laboratory experiments approximating the conditions of the workshop were also carried out and the results were compared. The operating temperature of the workshop furnace was measured to range from $750^{\circ}C$ to $850^{\circ}C$ while the surface temperature of an object, upon its removal from the furnace for additional thermo-mechanical treatments, was generally in the range of $600^{\circ}C$ to $685^{\circ}C$. This variation in working temperatures was reflected in varying microstructures developed upon quenching. The products of the Folk Village were found to consist of microstructures where the ${\alpha}$ grains of the Cu-Sn system were distributed in the background of different phases including the ${\beta}$-martensite phase, retained ${\gamma}$ phase, ${\alpha}+{\delta}$ eutectoid or their mixtures. This variability, which is also identified in objects made in ancient times as well as in our laboratory experiments, suggests that the actual thermal conditions given during the quenching treatments are much more complicated than is inferred from the temperature measurements. This paper will present detailed accounts of the thermo-mechanical treatments as observed in the high tin bronze workshop of the Korean Folk Village and discuss the evolution of varying microstructures in terms of the substantial variability involved in the implementation of the traditional forged high tin bronze technology of Korea.
