  • The purpose of this study is to research the effect of life satisfaction on young people at an early age and the impact of media on behavioral aggressiveness during this process. To this end, a group of primary schools located in Jiangnan and Jiangbei in the Seoul area and the Nanjing Road in the city were selected and 290 early youths from grades 4-6 of elementary school were chosen as specimens of structural equations. The results indicate that firstly, the personal causes of early youth have a positive (+) effect on the self-esteem life satisfaction and negative (-) impact on liquidity aggressiveness. Secondly, depression has a negative impact on life satisfaction, while action aggressiveness has no effect. Thirdly, the mobility aggression of early youth has a negative impact on life satisfaction (-), and there is a partial media relationship between self-esteem and life satisfaction. However, there is no media relationship between depression and life satisfaction. Based on the above research results, the project of improving youth early life satisfaction and reducing mobile aggression was proposed.

  • This study investigated moral judgment and moral reasoning about aggressive behavior by intention, presentation of results of aggressive behavior, and age of child. Forty-four 3-year old and forty-six 5-year-old day-care children in Seoul and Kyonggi Province were interviewed individually with 20 pictorial tasks. Data analysis was by frequencies, percentiles, means, standard deviations, paired t-test, and ANOVA(repeated measures). Both age groups judged instrumental and resentment-based types of aggression to be worse than prosocial or rule observance-based aggression. Both age groups judged aggressive behavior to be worse when results of aggression were presented. Five-year-olds judged aggression to be worse on instrumental than on retributive types of intent. Level of reasoning on aggressive behavior was lowest in cases of satisfying resentment Level of reasoning about aggression increased with age.

  • In this study, we examined the effects of video game play on a variety of areas of mental well-being, such as aggressive behavior, aggressive cognition, prosocial behavior, prosocial attitude, antisocial behavior, antisocial attitude, positive affect, and negative affect. We conducted a multivariate meta-analysis on 22 studies (k= 54, N = 8,031) published between January 2008 and October 2019. The results of the meta-analysis indicate that exposure to violent video games significantly increased aggressive cognition and negative affect only in true experimental studies, but their influences were small. Furthermore, the exposure to violent video games did not increase aggressive behavior and negative affect across all the research designs (true experimental, quasi-experimental, and correlational). Moderator analyses revealed that the effects of exposure to violent video games were much larger for younger adults than for children and greater in male-biased studies than in gender-balanced ones. Additionally, studies using better methodologies were less likely to produce negative effects. These findings suggest that the effects of exposure to violent video games on aggression were not as severe as popular opinion holds, and the effects were heavily modulated by the age and gender ratio of the participants, and methodological quality of the studies.

  • This study examined if any differences exist of young children's physical and relational aggression as affected by aggression levels, teacher-child and peer relationship, age, and gender. Furthermore, the extent of physical or relational aggression of the young children influencing teacher-child relationships is also examined. In this study, two hundred and fifty children aged three to ten and fifty-two teachers were targeted. They responded on questionnaires in regard to aggression, teacher-child relationships, and peer relationship. The findings are as follows: First, in terms of child aggression according to his/her age, it has been shown that physical aggression is primarily present in the age of four. Second, concerning gender, boys are found to be high in levels of both relational and physical aggression. Third, the data shows that in the relationship between the child's aggression and teacher-child relationship, the higher the child's aggression, the lower the intimacy of relationship between child and teacher and the higher the dependence and conflict in the relationship of teacher and child. Fourth, in the examination of relationships between a child's aggression and peer influence, higher levels of relational and physical aggression correlate with higher aggressive, hyperactive, and anti-social behaviors. In addition, the higher the age and relational aggression, the higher the pro-social behaviors that occur. Pedagogical implications and suggestions are put forth in the areas of improving relationships between children and teachers, how teachers can assist young learner development, and techniques to improve peer relationships and reduce its difficulties.

  • This study was conducted to determine the effects of non-climatic environmental factors on performances and behavioural patterns of growing pigs. Two hundred and seventy growing pigs were confined and administered with three levels of spaces per pig(0.33, 0.44 and 0.66$m^2$) and three different numbers of pigs per pen(12, 15 and 18 pigs) from 30kg to 60kg body weight. This study was designed by using 3 $\times$ 3 factorial arrangement(three levels of spaces $\times$ three different numbers of pigs) and investigated the effects of main factors and the relationship between each factors. The result of this study were summarized as follows; 1. The 0.44$m^2$ of floor space per pig improved(p<0.01) the weight gain and the feed/gain during the growing phase. 2. The 15 pigs per pen showed the faster gain and improved feed/gain than the 12 or 18 pigs per pen during the growing phase(p<0.05). 3. The reduction of floor space of growing pigs caused the reduction of resting, non-aggressive social behaviour but eating, aggressive behaviour was increased(p<0.01). 4. Group size affected the behavioural patterns significantly(p<0.01) of growing pigs. The aggressive and eating behaviour increased but resting behaviour decreased by crowding in the growing pigs. 5. Therefore we concluded that growing pigs need 0.44$m^2$ per pig and 15 pigs per pen for the better raising condition.

Dominance relationship was investigated in a captive of Desmodus rotundus, a neotopical sangivorous bat, under seminaturalistic conditions. The hierarchy was determined from four different behaviors (flee, fly-out, avoid, wait) by the encounter of ho adult bats on the feeding site. The aggressive action (flee after fighting) was relatively low (16%) compare to the other three observed behaviors. The hierarchy of the females reflected sometimes in the feeding order The harem male dominated the non-harem males and exhibited his territorial behavior. However, to his sex partners he didn't show aggressions.

  • This study emulated unscheduled phishing e-mails over a long period of time by imitating the manner in which external hackers attacked a group of employees in a company. We then measured and analyzed the recipient's ability to identify and respond to phishing e-mails as training progressed. In addition, we analyzed the changes in participants' response behavior when changing the external control condition between the training. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the training duration had a positive (+) relationship with the employees' ability to identify phishing e-mails and the infection rate, and more employees read emails and infected with phishing attacks using social issues and seasonal events. It was also confirmed that reinforcement of internal control policy on infected persons affects positively (+) on the phishing attack response behavior of employees. Based on these results, we would like to suggest the right training method for each organization to enhance the ability of employees to cope with phishing attacks.

  • This study first investigated the relationship among elementary school students' perceived academic stress, self-esteem, and aggression. This study further tested the moderating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between academic stress and aggression. In particular, the moderating effect was tested three times for the three dimensions of aggression (i.e., behavioral aggression, hostility, & anger). A total of 758 (woman 52.1%) 5th to 6th grade elementary school students participated in this study by responding to a questionnaire including measures of academic stress, self-esteem and aggression. The main results of the study were as follows. First, academic stress perceived by the elementary school students showed significant, positive correlations with all of the three dimensions of aggression. Second, the students ' self-esteem was negatively associated with the three aggression dimensions. Third, self-esteem was found to be a significant moderator between academic stress and two dimensions of aggression (hostility & anger), respectively, yet forth, the moderating effect of self-esteem was not significant between academic stress and the behavioral aggression dimension. This study suggests that academic stress can be a risk factor to increase elementary school students' aggression, and that their level of self-esteem can be a buffer to lower the risk. This study provides implications for educators to develop a program that can reduce elementary school students' aggression under academic stress by boosting the students' self-esteem.
