Update and Revision of Cadastral Map Using Aerial Photos (항공사진을 이용한 수치지적도의 수정 및 갱신)

  • Recently, structure and type of GIS data is various and complicated. Therefore, there is a research on efficient data collecting and processing method. Digital maps and orthophotos are needed for efficient usage in the field of GIS. Digital maps which are one of the part of NGIS and digital cadastral maps are different, and data construction isn't performed. Furthermore, there are no research on the improvement of difference between digital maps and cadastral maps. In this paper, manufactured digital orthophotos using aerial photos are used for change detection in a central area of a town. Selecting a town which has various changes, and digital maps and cadastral maps overlap each other, and analyze them for correction, renovation and possible application.

Efficient Modal Analysis of Prestressed Structures via Model Order Reduction (모델차수축소법을 이용한 프리스트레스 구조물의 효율적인 고유진동해석)

  • It is necessary to use prestressed modal analysis to calculate the modal frequencies and mode shapes of a prestressed structure such as a spinning blade, a preloaded structure, or a thermally deformed pipe, because the prestress effect sometimes causes significant changes in the frequencies and mode shapes. When the finite element model under consideration has a very large number of degrees of freedom, repeated prestressed modal analyses for investigating the prestress effects might become too computationally expensive to finish within a reasonable design-process time. To alleviate these computational difficulties, a Krylov subspace-based model order reduction, which reduces the number of degrees of freedom of the original finite element model and speeds up the necessary prestressed modal analysis with the reduced order models (ROMs), is presented. The numerical process for the moment-matching model reduction is performed directly on the full order models (FOMs) (modeled in ANSYS) by the Arnoldi process. To demonstrate the advantages of this approach for performing prestressed modal analysis, the prestressed wheel and the compressor impeller under their high-speed rotation are considered as examples.

  • Recently, SAR Interferometry method is actively being studied as a new technic in topographic mapping using satellite imageries. it extract height values using two SAR imageries covering same areas. Unlike when using SPOT imageries, it isn't affected by atmospheric conditions and time. But it is difficult to process radar imageries and the height accuracy is very low where relief displacements are high. In this study, we produced DEM(Digital Elevation Model) using ERS-1, ERS-2 tandem data and analysed the height accuracy over 14 ground control points. The mean error in height was 14.06m. But when using airborne SAR data, it Is expected that we can produce more accurate DEM which will be able to ue used in updating 1/10,000 or 1/25,000 map.

  • As it became possible to generate 3D sound on a PC environment due to the advances in computing performance and digital signal processing technology, 3D sound technology gains its focus in the multimedia area Specifically a two-channel based 3D sound technology is being studied by many researchers because of its space efficiency and economical structure. While the positional sound effect is simple in its implementation, the moving sound effect has many problems to be resolved as there are only discrete measured point of HRTF database. In this paper, we propose the method of generating smooth moving sound in a two-channel based 3D sound technique with respect to generating smooth trajectory, and the interpolation method of discrete measured HRTF data. We perform the tests in the PC environment and prove the utility of the proposed method.

Extraction of Ground Points from LiDAR Data using Quadtree and Region Growing Method (Quadtree와 영역확장법에 의한 LiDAR 데이터의 지면점 추출)

  • Processing of the raw LiDAR data requires the high-end processor, because data form is a vector. In contrast, if LiDAR data is converted into a regular grid pattern by filltering, that has advantage of being in a low-cost equipment, because of the simple structure and faster processing speed. Especially, by using grid data classification, such as Quadtree, some of trees and cars are removed, so it has advantage of modeling. Therefore, this study presents the algorithm for automatic extraction of ground points using Quadtree and refion growing method from LiDAR data. In addition, Error analysis was performed based on the 1:5000 digital map of sample area to analyze the classification of ground points. In a result, the ground classification accuracy is over 98%. So it has the advantage of extracting the ground points. In addition, non-ground points, such as cars and tree, are effectively removed as using Quadtree and region growing method.

A Study on Tile Map Service of High Spatial Resolution Image Using Open Source GIS (Open Source GIS를 이용한 고해상도 영상의 Tile Map Service 시스템 구축에 관한 연구)

  • A Tile Map Service is a regular map service that has been enhanced to serve maps very quickly using a cache of static images. The map cache is a directory that contains image tiles of a map extent at specific scale levels. Returning a tile from the cache takes the server much less time than drawing the map image on demand. Use of a Tile Map Service can dramatically improve the time that clients take to display complex base-maps. Using Tile Map Services thus eliminate the need to trade quality for performance. This study provides a way to construct Tile Map Service System using Open Source GIS. We used GDAL(Geospatial Data Abstraction Library) which is one of the Open Source GIS Softwares to make Tile Map Image and OpenLayers to publish Web Page. Moreover, We conducted a performance test on Tile Map System and Dynamic Map System and evaluated the results of it. As a result, the proposed method makes it easier to construct high performance Tile Map Service using Open Source GIS without commercial products.

  • Recently, interests in subsidence hazard have been increased due to the underground construction such as subway construction and managements of abandoned mines. GIS analysis of subsidence hazard has a lot of advantages in handling of spatial data and managing database. For better result of GIS analysis, there are some necessities of modifying previous subsidence theory and model. To take surface profile into account allows the application of complicated topology. Furthermore. for 3-dimensional analysis. two subsidence profile curves that are perpendicular to each other should be considered simultaneously. Through these modifications, the model for subsidence analysis using GIS can be established. With ideal case of cavities and other conditions, GIS analysis was accomplished and meaningful results were produced. More realistic properties of cavity. soil layers, groundwater condition and topology will enable GIS analysis method to produce more reliable result and to widen the area of applications.

  • Recently, with the excessive uses of Internet, virtual spaces for the on-line introduced VRML are emerging. The inhabited virtual world includes a complex process and human experiences. The VR interactivity is now being examined, and it is the important aspect for creating VR application which may include navigating the virtual world, turning features on and off, and interacting with other users. Therefore, the study of this field is favored with a competitive advantage to the present and future multimedia designer. Thus, the subject of this thesis is for the design of virtual world, focusing on interactivity. The contents include the types of the VR interactivity, and their classifying and studying, according to the existing theories based on the literature and web sites. The types are for the user navigation, for the user interactions with other users and objects, and for the creation of metaphors. As the results of this study, it is suggested the effective application and the proposal.

  • This study aims to evaluate how efficiently time-worn building could be managed by using GPS-based video-logging systems. The digitally georeferencing video data taken by a hand-hold GPS-based video-logging system allows quick retrieval and effective management for the complicate and various superannuated building in urban area. The results of the study are as follows. Georeferencing data are possible to trace observed positions by using GPS linked with video and to provide building crack information anytime that could be used to inspect and analyze the safety hazard diagnosis of buildings. Building crack information were measured by the proposed method that is merged with feature tracking and image mosaic of sequenced images. From the study, it reveals that the georeferencing video technique provides more realistic and reliable information in safety diagnosis and it can also be used as the essential and modern tool in urban building management.

A Background Segmentation and Feature Point Extraction Method of Human Motion Recognition (동작인식을 위한 배경 분할 및 특징점 추출 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel background segmentation and feature point extraction method of a human motion for the augmented reality game. First, our method transforms input image from RGB color space to HSV color space, then segments a skin colored area using double threshold of H, S value. And it also segments a moving area using the time difference images and then removes the noise of the area using the Hessian affine region detector. The skin colored area with the moving area is segmented as a human motion. Next, the feature points for the human motion are extracted by calculating the center point for each block in the previously obtained image. The experiments on various input images show that our method is capable of correct background segmentation and feature points extraction 12 frames per second.
