Historical Studies on the Uses of the Rear Garden at Changkyung Palace (창경궁 후원 이용의 역사적 고찰)

  • This study was carried out to get the exact information of the physical structures and humanistic landscapes to restore the prototype of the rear garden at Changkyung Palace. In this study, various drawings and historical documents such as Donggwoldo(東闕圖) and Joseonwangzosilok(朝鮮王朝實錄) were analysed. The innate characteristics and identity being inherent of rear garden of Changkyung Palace were tried to match the presence of acting to the specific places. The rear garden at Changkyung Palace was not only the secret garden for the rest of royal family and private life for king and queens but also used as public space for the various ceremonies. At the beginning of building, the rear garden at Changkyung Palace was built for the farming and sericulture of royal family. Since then, various events were held in this place such as archery, military drill and royal plowing and meeting with vassals which were political activities. At the rear garden of Changkyung Palace, Chundangdae(春塘臺), Kwanfunggak(觀豊閣) and Kwandukjung(觀德亭) were the base of specific activities. Also function, use, form, structure, planting and water elements were related organically in these areas.

Sparse and low-rank feature selection for multi-label learning

  • In this paper, we propose a feature selection technique for multi-label classification. Many existing feature selection techniques have selected features by calculating the relation between features and labels such as a mutual information scale. However, since the mutual information measure requires a joint probability, it is difficult to calculate the joint probability from an actual premise feature set. Therefore, it has the disadvantage that only a few features can be calculated and only local optimization is possible. Away from this regional optimization problem, we propose a feature selection technique that constructs a low-rank space in the entire given feature space and selects features with sparsity. To this end, we designed a regression-based objective function using Nuclear norm, and proposed an algorithm of gradient descent method to solve the optimization problem of this objective function. Based on the results of multi-label classification experiments on four data and three multi-label classification performance, the proposed methodology showed better performance than the existing feature selection technique. In addition, it was showed by experimental results that the performance change is insensitive even to the parameter value change of the proposed objective function.

Analysis of Occurrence Characteristics of Pine Wilt Disease in Korea based on Monitoring Data from 2016 to 2018 (국내 소나무재선충병 발생 특성 분석: 2016~2018년 예찰데이터를 기반으로)

  • Understanding the occurrence characteristics of pine wilt disease (PWD) is essential for determining a suitable strategy to minimize the damage caused by PWD. Thus, in this study, we characterized various environmental conditions, including meteorological factors, geographical factors, and artificial factors influencing the occurrence of PWD. The occurrence data of PWD from May 2016 to April 2018 and spatial data of various environmental factors, including natural and anthropogenic factors, were collected. We evaluated the relative contribution of the environmental variables on the number of dead pine trees by PWD. In this study, among the 17 natural and anthropogenic factors, the factors affecting the occurrence of dead trees by PWD were verified. The results showed that altitude and temperature from May to August, among natural factors, and distance to building and forest road among anthropogenic factors were the most influential factors on the occurrence of PWD.

Technology Transfer Process of Daegu Automotive Parts Industry (대구 자동차부품산업의 기술이전 프로세스)

  • This paper analyzes the technology transfer mechanism of companies clustered in a specific economic space from the perspective of absorptive capacity, taking the Daegu automotive parts industry as an example. According to the analysis results, The absorptive capacity of a company was found to be positively related to the supplier, channel, method, and institutional interaction of technology transfer. Low absorptive capacity limits technology transfer by reducing companies' technology search capabilities, while high absorptive capacity gives companies access to technology search and various technology transfer opportunities through formal and informal channels. These results suggest that, in the short term, it is necessary to supplement the search capabilities of companies through preemptive visiting services of local intermediaries for the vitalization of regional technology transfer, while in the long term, a policy approach focusing on enhancing the absorptive capacity of local companies is required. For effective implementation of these policies, a multi-layered governance approach corresponding to each level of companies' absorptive capacities is required in establishing an interface structure that promotes linkage between institutional actors.

A Study on the Visualization of Geospatial Big Data using Sentiment Analysis of Collective Civil Complaints (집단민원의 감성분석을 이용한 공간빅데이터 시각화 방안)

  • Traditionally, surveys or interview studies have been used to measure satisfaction factors for public services. This method focuses on the simple frequency of civil complaints and does not consider the aggravation of emotions implied in civil complaints. As a result, it is difficult to judge the urgency of civil complaints and the severity of grievances experienced by civil petitioners. This study aims to calculate the negative emotional value of collective complaints by using the happiness score for each word on the Hedonometer. The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission applied a Hedonometer to the top civil complaint topics and related keyword data by region in 2021 to calculate negative sentiment values by subject of civil complaints, and visualize the distribution by region. Using the negative emotional values derived from the results of this study, the severity of emotions contained in civil complaints can be considered. It is also expected to be helpful in determining the urgency of civil complaints and the severity of grievances experienced by civil petitioners.

  • 농가인구의 감소 및 고령화, 고소득 작물 재배, 기후변화 등으로 인해 영농형태가 논농사에서 밭농사로 전환되고 지역별 증감의 차이가 있기는 하나 밭 면적이 증가하는 추세를 보인다. 한편, 밭작물은 논에 비해 기반시설이 부족하고 고소득의 밭작물을 생산하기 위한 시설재배가 늘어나면서 대부분 사계절 확보가 용이하고 수질이 양호한 지하수를 사용하고 있다. 지하수 수요 증가는 지하수위 저하와 지하수 고갈의 우려를 초래하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 농업용 지하수 이용 실태를 분석하고 지하수이용 및 관리 제도 현황을 검토하여 지속가능한 밭용수 공급을 위한 지하수 관리전략을 제안하였다. 진주시를 대상으로 경지유형에 따른 지하수 이용 특성 분석하여 지하수의 수요 특성을 살펴보았는데, 하천 주변 저지대에 큰규모의 밭이나 집단화된 시설재배 지역이 분포하고 있고 지하수 관정도 밀집하고 있었다. 하천에서 떨어진 산간지역에는 지하수 관정이 산발적으로 분포하고 있었다. 지하수 수요는 공간적 위치 외에도 고품질 농업용수에 대한 요구도 원인인 것으로 조사되었다. 밭기반 용수공급 관련 사업과 지하수 자원확보 관련 법제도 등을 고찰하여 밭의 위치, 규모, 용수공급의 수요 특성 등을 고려하여 밭용수 공급을 위한 세 가지 지하수 관리전략을 제안하였다. 우선, 농업용 지하수 이용량 실측 및 정보의 다각화를 통한 정보의 고도화가 필요하다. 둘째, 지하수 이용의 공간적 특성을 고려하여 지표수와 연계한 지하수 이용기반이 구축되어야 한다. 지표수 공급이 가능한 지역은 지표수를 우선 공급하거나 지하수와 혼합 또는 교차하여 공급하고 물공급 취약지역에서는 지하수 공급 기반시설을 구축하는 것이다. 세 번째 전략은 농업용 지하수 시설의 공공관리 강화 및 관리 효율화이다. 특히 지하수이용이 밀집한 지역에서는 지하수 인허가 기준을 강화하고 용도별 관리체계 구축이 필요하다. 밭용수 공급은 농가 소득과 밀접한 연관이 있기 때문에 물이용의 지속가능성과 함께 농가 소득증대를 고려하는 공편인적 관점에서의 관리가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

  • Health geography has gained importance due to healthy smart cities, regions, and the integration of geo-internet and blockchain technologies. This study explores the intersection of geography and health, focusing on specific health challenges faced by individuals and groups. Using observational and descriptive methods, the study takes a regional approach to illuminate the socio-economic factors that are critical to addressing global health challenges. Drawing on academic literature and practical research, a concise case study of health challenges in Uzbekistan is presented, offering valuable insights. The analysis of data from informative articles and UN publications highlights the interdisciplinary nature of health geography and its practical applicability for researchers and policymakers. The findings underscore the important role of geography and health sciences in addressing region-specific diseases while highlighting the importance of spatial analysis in understanding environmental hazards and health impacts, including disease outbreaks.

CNN-ViT Hybrid Aesthetic Evaluation Model Based on Quantification of Cognitive Features in Images (이미지의 인지적 특징 정량화를 통한 CNN-ViT 하이브리드 미학 평가 모델)

  • This paper proposes a CNN-ViT hybrid model that automatically evaluates the aesthetic quality of images by combining local and global features. In this approach, CNN is used to extract local features such as color and object placement, while ViT is employed to analyze the aesthetic value of the image by reflecting global features. Color composition is derived by extracting the primary colors from the input image, creating a color palette, and then passing it through the CNN. The Rule of Thirds is quantified by calculating how closely objects in the image are positioned near the thirds intersection points. These values provide the model with critical information about the color balance and spatial harmony of the image. The model then analyzes the relationship between these factors to predict scores that align closely with human judgment. Experimental results on the AADB image database show that the proposed model achieved a Spearman's Rank Correlation Coefficient (SRCC) of 0.716, indicating more consistent rank predictions, and a Pearson Correlation Coefficient (LCC) of 0.72, which is 2~4% higher than existing models.

Dynamic Changes of Urban Spatial Structure in Seoul: Focusing on a Relative Office Price Gradient (오피스 가격경사계수를 이용한 서울시 도시공간구조 변화 분석)

  • With the increasing demand for office space, there have been questions on how office rent distribution produces a change in the urban spatial structure in Seoul. The purpose of this paper is to investigate a relative price gradient and to present a time-series model that can quantitatively explain the dynamic changes in the urban spatial structure. The analysis was dealt with office rent above 3,306 m2 for the past 10 years from 1Q 2010 to 4Q 2019 within Seoul. A modified repeat sales model was employed. The main findings are briefly summarized as follows. First, according to the estimates of the office price gradient in the three major urban centers of Seoul, the CBD remained at a certain level with little change, while those in the GBD and the YBD continued to increase. This result reveals that the urban form of Seoul has shifted from monocentric to polycentric. This shows that the spatial distribution of companies has gradually accelerated decentralized concentration implying that the business networks have become significant. Second, contrary to small and medium-sized office buildings that have undertaken no change in the gradient, large office buildings have seen an increase in the gradient. The relative price gradients in small and medium-sized buildings were inversely proportional among the CBD, the GBD, and the YBD, implying their heterogeneous submarkets by office rent movements. Presumably, those differences in the submarkets were attributed to investment attraction, industrial competition, and the credit and preference of tenants. The findings are consistent with the hierarchical system identified in the Seoul 2030 Plan as well as the literature about Seoul's urban form. This research claims that the proposed method, based on the modified repeat sales model, is useful in understanding temporal dynamic changes. Moreover, the findings can provide implications for urban growth strategies under rapidly changing market conditions.

  • We called a current society the convergence generation. In information society, digital convergence means a service or new product which appeared through fusion of unit technologies in information and communication regions. The effects of convergence technologies and social phenomenons are visualized in overall regions of society such as economy, society, culture, etc. In 2011, The Government introduced "IT Convergence Technology Prediction Survey 2025". This report includes 10 ICT industries. In this paper, we described a smart city which was leading case in digital convergence and related with our life.
