A Study on the Effect of Micro Surfacing Pavement on Noise Reductions (마이크로 서피싱 포장의 도로 소음 저감 효과 연구)

  • The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the field applications and the noise reductions of micro surfacing pavement, which is often used to reduce environmental problems. A traffic noise mechanism was analyzed and a modified mix design method was proposed for nighttime constructions. Results on noise measurements using the statistical pass-by method showed noise reductions of 2.0 to 7.1 dB were observed. In addition, results on noise measurements using the close proximity method demonstrated that noise reductions of 5.6 to 6.7 dB were recorded under vehicle speed of 80km/h. The noise measurements revealed that the close proximity method was more stable than the statistical pass-by method. As a result, the effect of micro surfacing pavement on noise reductions was proved through the research. It is considered that the micro surfacing pavement method could be used as a preventive maintenance method and a comfortable noise reducing pavement technique.

Fundamental Characteristics of Concrete According to Fineness Modulus and Replacement Ratio of Crushed Sand (부순모래의 조립률 및 치환률에 따른 콘크리트의 기초 특성)

  • The paper evaluates the effect of the physical property, fineness modulus (FM) and replacement ratio of crushed sand on the characteristics of concrete. This is intended to use crushed sand from Daegu-Kyungbuk region as the fine aggregate of concrete. The experimental result indicates that the replacement ratio of crushed sand needs to be less than 50% to satisfy the mixed gradation of both natural and crushed sand when their FMs are 2.0 and 3.2, respectively. The slump of concrete with crushed sand increased as the replacement ratio of crushed sand increased, while the workability of concrete with the replacement ratio of more than 75% was significantly reduced. The air content and bleeding rate of concrete was reduced as the replacement ratio increased. Furthermore, due to the enhancement of the concrete adhesive regardless of the FM of crushed sand, compressive strength of concrete tended to improve as the replacement ratio increased.

Influence of the Improveal Grain Shape of Coarse Aggregates on Compactability of High Performance Concrete (굵은 골재 입형 개선이 고성능콘크리트의 충전특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The influence of the improvement of grain shape of the coarse aggregate to the unit powder content of concrete and the fine aggregate ratio for the increase of the flowability and segregation resistance of high performance concrete was examined. According to the experimental results, flowability and compacting of concrete presents best states in the S/a which has the smallest 패야 ratio. The coarse aggregate after improvement of grain shape, that has changed from the 0.68 of spherical rate of disk shape to 0.73, led fine aggregate ratio to be down 6% (i.e from 47% to 41%). The improvement of grain shape of the coarse aggregate also led the lowest unit powder content to be down 60kg/㎥ (ie from 530kg/㎥ to 470kg/㎥). And approximate 10% of unit water content has been reduced as unit powder content was down. However, the compressive strength after the improvement of grain shape of the coarse aggregate decreased to 5% due to decrease of adhesiveness of the aggregate and cement paste.

  • The concrete used most in construction materials. However, I let I regulate lay priest distribution of the aggregate, and the results rates increase and reduce unit amount and decrease quantity of dry shrinkage, and separation resistance and the gap passage characteristics are judged because it can be it in a substitute document of very superior concrete. I came to carry out the study that I watched to let I was useful a little more and do the improvement repair of a become building wall body, a basement pillar and repair reinforcement of the assistant in the reinforcing rod back, the old age when I made congestion here. I regulated lay priest distribution of the aggregate in the study and regulated substitution rate of the aggregate (40%, 50%, 60%) and divided W/C 30%, 40% standards and produced mortar and I compared quantity of air by this, slump, compression robbery and showed it this time.

A study on the application of waste concrete powder as a material for construction (건설용 재료로써 폐콘크리트 미분말의 활용성 연구)

  • This study is conducted to utilize waste concrete powder made as a by-product manufacturing high quality recycled aggregate. The blaine fineness of the used waste concrete powder was 928 and $1,360cm^2/g$. As the main characteristic of waste concrete powder, it showed an angular type similar to cement, but hydrated products were attached on the surface of particles. In addition, the size of the particles of waste concrete powder was larger than OPC and in terms of chemical components it had higher $SiO_2$ contents. The viscosity of the paste that mixed waste concrete power decreased by 62% at the most, compared to the paste that only used OPC, and the final set time was delayed about two hours. As composition rates of waste concrete powder increased, the flow value decreased by 30% at the most according to the comparison with mortar that only used OPC, and sorptivity coefficients increased by 70%. The compressive strength of mortar decreased by 73% at the most as composition rates of waste concrete powder increased. According to the test results, it is desirable to use waste concrete powder by combining OPC appropriately(below 15%).

  • This study is conducted to utilize waste concrete powder (WCP) made as a by-product manufacturing high quality recycled aggregate. In addition, the size of the particles of waste concrete powder was larger than OPC and in terms of chemical components it had higher $SiO_2$ contents. For using WCP in soil cement-based pavement, the qualities, physical and chemical properties, of WCP should be researched. In the first step, the specified compressive strength of mortar for two types of clay sand soil and clay soil respectively was experimented to be 15 MPa and then optimum mixing ratio of chemical solidification agent were decided in the range of 1.5 - 3.0% in the replacement with cement weight content. In the second step, based on the prior experimental results, recycling possibility of WCP in soil cement-based pavement was studied. In the result of experiment the mixing ratio of WCP were 5, 10, 15 and 20% in the replacement with soil weight and the compressive strength of mortar was somewhat decreased according to the increase of the mixing ratio of WCP.
