  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of aroma therapy on exam syndromes and temporary fatigue of senior high school students who are preparing to take college entrance exams. Method: This study was a pre-experimental research using a one-group pre-post test design and was conducted between April and July 2003 with 35 high school students. A pre-post test was used to measure long-term exam syndromes and temporary fatigue during the first period of school. Paired t-test was used. Aromas were given using an aroma electrical lamp, aroma necklet with basic oils of rosemary and lemon. According to the condition of the students, one or two oils were added: peppermint, pine, eucalyptus and Clary-Sage. Results: After two months (May, June), the result of administering aroma therapy to senior high school students showed in June there was a decrease in principal exam syndromes such as eye fatigue, headache, shoulder pain, neck stiffness, back pain, and common cold, and there was an increase Un study concentration during the two months. However, in May, there were no significant effects. The reason may have been a strong extraneous factor from midterm exams that would affect their college entrance. Conclusion: According to these results, if we use aroma oil carefully, with evidence-based applications, aroma therapy can have a positive effect on senior high school students who are preparing for the college entrance exams.

  • The study reported a phenomenological analysis of the interviews with 19 mothers who had a child preparing a college entrance examination. The research question was what mothers experienced in supporting their child in his/her study for the examination. Results indicated that 'the senior year in a highschool' was described as the most stressful period affecting all the family members. Mothers' experiences were portrayed from three perspectives: mothers, as family members, experiencing the attachment to her child but conflicts with her husband; mothers, as individuals, adjusting by trying to setting realistic academic goals for her child while supporting him/her physically, emotionally, and spiritually; and mothers, as critics to extrafamily systems, blaming the inconsistency of educational policies. 1bis study was conducted with a holistic view, and highlighted the importance of interactions between traditional ideology about the mother roles and socioeconomic contexts when interpreting mothers' supporting their child in study for a college entrance examination.

The number of subjects ware approximately 327 and subjects were sourced from the 12th grade student at high school in Kwang-Ju city. Result obtained shows 21.4% of emmetropia and 78.6% of ametropia. Most of refractive errors were myopia and due to it's condition, frequency of ametropia and emmetropia at the similar rate. However, one that consist of refractive problems, it's myopia contains 74.9% of heterophoria. Due to emmetropia, horizontal heterophoria have 45.7% of exophoria and 4.3% of esophoria. Myopia shows 11.4% of esophoria and 63.5% of exophoria. Hozizonda heterophoria shows 5.7% of emmetropia and myopia of 22.4%, than average of esophoria shows $4.3P{\Delta}$ and case of myopia, it was $3.4P{\Delta}$. Case of Exphoria, emmetropia have $8.8P{\Delta}$ and within myopia $8.0P{\Delta}$. Vertical heterophoria owns $2.2P{\Delta}$ within emmetropia and case of myopia $4.3P{\Delta}$ was shown. Which shows myopia result value higher than emmetropia.

The third group was not treated. In the case of difference of physical and psychological stress, there was a reduction of 18.43 and 16.71 for the fermented extract group and 10.71 and 9.43 for the aroma group, while a reduction of 0.43 and 0.29 for the control group, respectively. This shows that foot baths using fermented extracts and aroma had lower physical stress compared to the control group (p<.01). • The Ministry of Education of Korea announced the university structural reform plans which reduces 160,000 of the university entrance quota during 10 years from January 2014. Because the reduction plans of entrance quota influence regional economy as well as students and universities, naive evidence of the Ministry of Education of Korea is disappointed. In this research, we forecast the total number of the university entrance exam candidate by 2032 including not only third grade high school students but also repeaters according to the 16 metropolises and provinces in Korea. We also forecast the regional university recruiting rate using the forecasts of the total number of the university entrance exam candidates. However, we can not make more realistic results because we can not apply the inter-regional movement of students to the forecast. In order to handle this limitation, we first estimated the rank of the whole 7,277 departments of all universities in Korea and assigned the quotas according to the estimated rank for each departments and then we calculated the local university recruiting rate. The estimated the university recruiting rates of 16 metropolises and provinces can provide more noticeable results of characteristics and problems than that of nationwide.
