  • Property development along railway lines is a critical issue at present. Because various railway lines exist in most large cities, there are numerous properties and open spaces to be developed for communities associated with these lines. The active development of railway properties can be a means to resolve housing shortage problems in cities. In this first part of this paper, noise and vibration levels of an artificial area of land and apartment complex are measured and evaluated to derive a design strategy for vibration reduction purposes.

  • An Elevator is a very important equipment in high-rise apartments. The noise generated by an elevator is causing inconvenience to residents. However, there are no laws and regulations on elevator noise, and moreover it is not clear how to measure and evaluate elevator noise. For these problems, the first priority should be given to grasping the characteristics of noise and vibration generated during elevator operation. In this study, noise and vibration generated when operating a rope-type elevator in a high-rise apartment are divided according to the number of floors and the type of room, and the noise and vibration are simultaneously measured to understand the characteristics of noise and vibration. The correlation coefficient according to the experimental conditions was determined. As a result, it was found that elevator noise was mainly composed of components in the 125 Hz to 500 Hz band, and the correlation with vibration in the 125 Hz to 500 Hz band was also significant. For the top layer, it was confirmed that the correlation coefficient was very high at 0.8 level.

  • 국내에서 2003년 9월 12일 태풍 매미는 부산 지역에서 많은 재산상의 피해와 아울러 강풍으로 인한 건물의 진동으로 인하여 거주자의 사용성문제가 발생하였다. 또한 신문 보도에 의하면 15층 이상의 고층에 거주하는 시민들은 강풍으로 인한 진동으로 인하여 극도의 공포감에 시달린것으로 알려져 있다. 부산 남구 용호동 L아파트 24층 거주자의 경우는 2003년 9월 12일 오후 10시경부터 아파트 지하 주차장으로 2시간여 동안 대피했다. 천장의 전등이 좌우로 흔들리고 변기 속의 물이 출렁거릴 정도로 아파트가 심하게 진동하였기 때문이다. 아파트의 진동으로 인한 어지러움도 호소하는 경우도 있었다.(중략)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the theoretical origins and characteristics of Korean Apartment that became a dominant housing type of Korea by comparing it with the ideas of Le Corbusier, Siedlung and Hilberseimer. Korean apartment is different from Corbusier's idea in that it has no vision for new community in modern society. Formal typology of apartment also differs from Corbusier's unite which embodied a new collective way of living in modern society. In that Korean apartment was introduced as a means to provide houses to urban worker and to solve the housing shortage, it was close to the idea of Siedlung. However, unlike Siedlung Korean apartment was based on urban ideology and not a social housing. In terms of it's repetitive form, Korean Apartment resembled Hilberseimer's proposal for capitalistic metropolis. However, it differs from Korean Apartment in that the latter has no utopian vision of new order So, while reflecting fragmented ideas of modern utopia, Korean apartment is architecture without utopia.

Simulation of the Kitchen and Bathroom Exhaust Systems in High-Rise Apartment Buildings (고층 아파트의 주방 및 욕실 배기 시스템 시뮬레이션)

  • The objective of this study is to find major variables which influence the performance of kitchen and bathroom exhaust systems in high-rise apartment buildings. For this purpose, the influencing factors on the exhaust airflow rates from the kitchen or bathroom are identified and in every cases, which are made of combinations between the influencing factors, the exhaust airflow rates are calculated through the simulations. The results of the simulation show that the exhaust airflow rates from the kitchen and bathroom mainly depends on outdoor air temperature, number of floors, airtightness of the building envelope, fan on ratio, vertically connected to same shaft, exhaust fan capacity for kitchen or bathroom, roof ventilator capacity and shaft area for kitchen or bathroom exhaust.

  • High-rise apartments in Korea has physical, environmental, social, economical superannuation. But the remodeling of their apartments is focused on the physical improvement. So they remains the problems of community, safety, economy. Remodeling have to do is to attempt to synthesize the whole superannuation. So we select the B-maul apartments in 1st new towns has the typical problem(parking unsufficiency, small pyeong, ecology shortage etc) of high-rise apartment in the country and analysis its superannuation and remodeling plan. And verify the propriety of a remodeling plan to improve superannuation through an expert survey. Through the tasks, high-rise apartment remodeling in the country need to have a cure for the problem : lowing of the ceiling heights, a shortage of understanding among the residents, and insufficient improvement in the surroundings, no reuse-energy system.
