지지격자로 지지된 모의 연료봉의 진동특성 (Vibration Characteristics of a Dummy Fuel Rod Supported by Spacer Grids)

  • The spacer grid is one of the main structural components in the fuel assembly, which supports the fuel rods and maintains coolable geometry from an external load. A vibration test and a finite element analysis using ABAQUS on a dummy fuel rod continuously supported by Optimized H type(OHT) and New Doublet (ND) spacer grids arc performed to obtain the vibration characteristics such as natural frequencies and mode shapes an(1 to verify a finite element model. The results from the test and the finite element analysis are compared by modal assurance criteria (MAC) values. It is resulted that MACs for the first, the third and the fifth mode shapes are relatively good as compared with those of the second an(1 fourth ones. The natural frequency differences between two methods as well as the mode comparison results for the rod with OHT spacer grid are better than those with ND spacer grid. It is judged that the FE model for the ND spacer grid spring should be modified to consider the long contact length which actually happen when the spring supports the rod.

  • Free vibration characteristics of a cantilevered laminated composite beam with multiple non-propagating transverse open cracks are investigated. In the present analysis a special ply-angle distribution referred to as asymmetric stiffness configuration inducing the elastic coupling between chord-wise bending and extension is considered. The multiple open cracks are modelled as equivalent rotational springs whose spring constants are calculated based on the fracture mechanics of composite material structures. Governing equations of a composite beam with open cracks are derived via Hamilton's Principle and Timoshenko beam theory encompassing transverse shear and rotary inertia effect is adopted. The effects of various parameters such as the ply angle, fiber volume fraction, crack numbers, crack positions and crack depthes on the free vibration characteristics of the beam with multiple cracks are highlighted. The numerical results show that the existence of the multiple cracks in an anisotropic composite beam affects the free vibration characteristics in a more complex fashion compared with the beam with a single crack.

  • In this paper, the equations of motion of a Bernoulli-Euler cantilever beam fixed on a moving cart and carrying a lumped mass concentrated at an arbitrary position along the beam is derived. The motion of the beam-mass-cart system is analyzed through unconstrained modal analysis, and a unified characteristic equation for calculating the natural frequencies of the system is obtained. The changes of natural frequencies and the corresponding mode shapes with respect to the changes in mass ratios of the system and to the concentrated position of the lumped mass are investigated with the frequency equation, which can be generally applied to this kind of systems. The exact and assumed-mode solutions including the dynamics of the base cart are obtained, and the open-loop responses of the system by arbitrarily designed forcing function are given by numerical simulations. The results match well with physical phenomena even at the extreme cases where the concentrated mass is attached to the bottom and to the top of the beam.

부구조물 합성법을 이용한 접는 미사일 조종날개 모델 수립 (Model Establishment of a Deployable Missile Control Fin Using Substructure Synthesis Method)

  • A deployable missile control fin has some structural nonlinearities because of the worn or loose hinges and the manufacturing tolerance. The structural nonlinearity cannot be eliminated completely, and exerts significant effects on the static and dynamic characteristics of the control fin. Thus, It is important to establish the accurate deployable missile control fin model. In the present study, the nonlinear dynamic model of 4he deployable missile control fin is developed using a substructure synthesis method. The deployable missile control fin can be subdivided Into two substructures represented by linear dynamic models and a nonlinear hinge with structural nonlinearities. The nonlinear hinge model is established by using a system identification method, and the substructure modes are improved using the Frequency Response Method. A substructure synthesis method Is expanded to couple the substructure models and the nonlinear hinge model, and the nonlinear dynamic model of the fin is developed. Finally, the established nonlinear dynamic model of the deployable missile control fin is verified by dynamic tests. The established model is In good agreement with test results, showing that the present approach is useful in aeroelastic stability analyses such as time-domain nonlinear flutter analysis.

  • 이전의 연구(1)에서는 해석적 및 수치적 방법을 사용하여 전단변형 및 회전관성효과를 고려하는 현수교의 수직진동에 대하여 유한요소법을 이용하여 이동하중 해석을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 전단변형 및 회전관성 효과가 고려된 Hermitian 다항식을 사용하는 현수교요소를 이용하여 현수교의 수직진동에 대한 고유치 해석을 수행하고 이를 이용한 현수교요소와 차량 및 열차와의 상호작용을 고려한 운동방정식을 유도한다. 이와 같이 모드중첩법을 이용하여 유도된 운동방정식을 수치적분방법으로 Newmark $\beta$ Method를 사용하여 동적해석을 수행하였다.

  • 이 논문은 여러 개의 진동수를 동시에 고려할 수 있는 위상최적화기법을 제공하고 이를 평면구조물에 적용하여 최적위상을 도출하고 그 결과를 기술하였다. 본 연구에서는 모드변형에너지를 최소화하고자하는 목적함수로 가정하고 구조물의 초기 부피를 제약함수로 사용하였다. 물질내부에 존재하는 구멍의 크기를 조절하기 위하여 최적정기준법을 바탕으로 한 크기조절 알고리듬을 도입하였다. 수치해석결과로 부터 제시된 위상최적화기법은 구조물의 기본고유진동수를 효과적으로 최대화하면서 동시에 고차의 진동수에 대한 영향도 최적위상에 고려할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Rectangular box type structures are used in many fields of civil, mechanical and marine engineering. Especially, Most ship structures are often in contact with inner or outer fluid, like ballast, fuel and stem tanks. Fatigue damages are sometimes observed in these tanks which seem to be caused by resonance with exciting force of engine and propeller. Vibration characteristics of these thin walled tanks in contact with fluid near engine and propeller are strongly affected by added mass of containing fluid. Therefore it is essentially important to estimate the added mass effect to predict vibration of the tanks. Many authors have studied vibration of rectangular tanks containing fluid. Few research on dynamic interaction among tank walls filled with fluid are reported in the vibration of rectangular tanks recently. In case of rectangular tanks, structural coupling between adjacent panels and effect of vibration modes of multiple panels on added mass of water have to be considered. In the previous report, a numerical analysis is performed for the coupling effect between panels of a tank on added mass of containing fluid, the effect of structural constraint between panels on each vibration mode for fluid region, and mode characteristics in accordance with changing breadth of the plates by using finite element method for plates and boundary element method for fluid region. In this paper, the coupling effect between panels of a tank on added mass of containing fluid, the effect of structural constraint between panels on each vibration mode for fluid region, and mode characteristics in accordance with changing length, thickness, and boundary condition of the plates are investigated numerically and discussed.

테이퍼 롤러 베어링 케이지의 불완전성이 통특성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Geometrical Imperfections on the Dynamic Characteristics of a Tapered Roller Bearing Cage)

  • 테이퍼 롤러 베어링은 큰 부하 하중이 가해져도 안정적으로 차량을 지지할 수 있어서 승합차, 화물차, 열차 등에 핵심적인 구동 부품으로 광범위하게 사용된다. 테이퍼 롤러 베어링 부품 중에서 케이지는 롤러들 사이의 간격을 유지해 주며, 이를 통해서 마찰 방지 및 마모, 발열을 억제하고 윤활을 위한 공간을 제공해주는 등의 역할을 한다. 차량이 주행 중에 공진으로 인해 케이지가 심하게 변형되면 롤러가 원활한 구름 운동을 하지 못하거나, 케이지를 이탈하는 경우가 발생하게 된다. 따라서 베어링의 안정적인 내구성능을 확보하기 위해서는 케이지의 공진주파수를 파악하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 베어링 케이지는 구조적으로 동일한 형상이 반복되는 주기적 구조물로 볼 수 있는데, 이러한 구조물은 제작과정에서 설계 시 의도한 완벽한 기하학적 형상과는 어느 정도의 오차를 가진 형상으로 제작되게 된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 케이지의 기하학적 불완전성이 동특성에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 한다. 그 결과 기하학적인 불완전성에 의하여 이상적인 케이지의 고유진동수 부근에서 고유진동수 분리가 발생하며, 그 간격은 기하학적 오차의 크기에 비례하고 모드의 차수가 증가할수록 그 간격도 넓어진다고 판단된다.

  • A simplified for the eigenpair sensitivities of damped systems is presented. This approach employs a reduced equation to determine the sensitivities of eigenpairs of the damped vibratory systems with distinct eigenvalues. The derivatives of eigenpairs are obtained by solving an algebraic equation with a symmetric coefficient matrix of (n+1) b (n+1) dimension where n is the number of degree of freedom. This is an improved method of the previous work of Lee and Jung. Two equations are used to find eigenvalues derivatives and eigenvector derivatives in their paper. A significant advantage of this approach over Lee and Jung is that one algebraic equation newly developed is enough to compute such eigenvalue derivatives and eigenvector derivatives. Simulation results indicate that the new method is highly efficient in determining the sensitivities of engenpairs of the damped vibratory systems with distrinct eigenvalues.

  • This paper presents a very simple procedure for determining the sensitivities of the eigenpairs of damped vibratory system with distinct eigenvalues. The eigenpairs derivatives can be obtained by solving algebraic equation with a symmetric coefficient matrix whose order is (n+1)×(n+1), where n is the number of degree of freedom the method is an improvement of recent work by I. W. Lee, D. O. Kim and G. H. Junng; the key idea is that the eigenvalue derivatives and the eigenvector derivatives are obtained at once via only one algebraic equation, instead of using two equations separately as like in Lee and Jung's method Of course, the method preserves the advantages of Lee and Jung's method.
