Training Incentives in the Korean Levy-Grant System and the Performance: Evidences from the KLIPS Data (재직자 직업훈련 관련 공적재정의 구조와 성과: 효과 분석)

  • This paper examines how the levy-grant system for on-the-job training affects individual workers' training level and the subsequent wage growth. Some notable results include: (i) the workers at the firms facing high net benefits (i.e., grant minus levy) receive more firm training indeed, and (ii) training provision raises post-training earnings substantially. All these results are found to be robust to changes in firm size and estimation method.

  • This study is an analysis of characteristics and the causes of serious accidents in chemical industry. The statistical analysis was focused on preventive facilities, equipment failures, accident materials and instabilities of workers and employment type. First, it showed that the highest number of the victims of accidents were involved in the industry of chemical materials and chemical products among the investigation of the manufactural industries. Also, particularly, they were investigated to be focused on the occurrence of the serious accidents in preventive facilities. Secondly, the most of the victims of serious accidents were found out not to be temporary or part-time worker but regular workers and most of the accidents occur in the form of big accidents involving more than 4 workers.

  • It is well known that the major noise source of Refrigerator is compressor, and due to the tendency of higher quality and more lighting of manufactured goods, the importance of prevention and reduction of a noise is increasing. In this paper, in order to prevent and reduce such a noise, sound pressure level and acoustic intensity are measured for compressor, and the result of these measurements, the noise radiation characteristics of compressor are reconized. And the experimental modal analysis is applied to the compressor to identify the noise sourcce. As the results of this study, we come to know that the spring, which is used to reduce vibration, does not reduce vibration efficiently, and compressor shell and its mounting system effect the noise radiation.

The Effect of Career Learning on Employability and the Mediating Effect of Job Expertise in a Public Corporation (공기업 근로자의 경력학습이 고용가능성에 미치는 영향에서 직무 전문성의 매개효과)

  • This study aims to empirically verify the impacts of career learning on employability and the mediating effect of job expertise in a public corporation. For the empirical analysis, I surveyed 958 employees(valid respondents) working in a public corporation. And the structural equation modeling(SEM) was used to statistically analize and test the research hypotheses. The independent variable is 'career learning', the dependent variable is 'employability' and the mediating variable is 'job expertise'. The results are as follows. The empirical analysis shows that the positive effects of 'career learning ${\rightarrow}$ job expertise', 'job expertise ${\rightarrow}$ employability' and 'career learning ${\rightarrow}$ employability' are all verified. And the mediating effect of job expertise between career learning and employability is also partially verified. So, all the proposed hypotheses are accepted. From this result, I can clearly suggest that the employees can be growing to professionals with high employability when they retire if they are voluntarily and self-motivated to set up their career plan and to enhance their job expertise. In this context, it is expected that the company should support the employees to continue to strengthen their own expertise in their job place through their mid-long term career learning plan.

Influencing Factors on Rehiring Intentions for Mentally Disabled of Employer with Employment Experience (정신장애인 고용경험이 있는 고용주의 정신장애인 재고용 의사에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that influence employer to rehire the mentally disabled. The participants of survey were 121 of employers' in Busan. Data were analyzed using ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test and logistic regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 18.0. According to this analysis, the results show that employer's rehiring intentions for the mentally disabled is a significantly related to gender, relationship with mental disabled person, industrial classification, experience of disabled employees, period of employment with mentally disabled people, subsidy for employment promotion, employment quota system, benevolence, community mental health ideology. Logistic regression analysis showed that relationship with mental disabled person, industrial classification, experience of disabled employees, period of employment with mentally disabled people, subsidy for employment promotion, employment quota system and benevolence. On the basis of results, program for encouraging employer's intention of rehiring the mentally disabled should be development and establish mediate strategies.

  • An analysis of the correlation in port-related industries between minimum wage and employment effects, showed that it was very insignificant. However, there are some differences between commercial and temporary workers, those that are self-employed, and other workers in the private sector. Thus, while commercial workers are somewhat stable, they have a somewhat negative effect on temporary workers and self-employed people. At the Minimum Wage Council, the minimum wage hike is seen as stable because of the interaction between income and substitution effects in the labor market. According to the analysis, the port-related industries were affected more by the global economic recession and domestic economic volatility than the variables related to the minimum wage hike.

High and Downwardly Rigid Reservation Wages are Responsible for the Youth Joblessness? (청년 고용 문제, 눈높이 때문인가?)

  • This paper criticizes the arguments for the high and rigid reservation wages as main cause of the youth joblessness. First, using longitudinal aspect of the Korea Labor and Income Panel Study, I found that there exists declining reservation wage for the young who make the transition from unemployed to employment. Second, the average duration of school-to-work transition in Korea is relatively low compared to that of other countries. Moreover the duration between leaving school and staring the first job has not significantly negative effect on adult labor market outcomes, but the quality of first job and unstable job experiences have serious negative effects on working career. These findings show that the high youth joblessness is due to both decent job deficit and labor market segmentation.

Effect of Al Solution Strengthening on Damping Capacities of Mg-Al Alloy Solid Solutions (Al 고용 강화가 Mg-Al 합금 고용체의 진동감쇠능에 미치는 영향)

  • The damping capacities in the strain-amplitude dependent and strain-amplitude independent regions were comparatively investigated for pure Mg and Mg-X%Al solid solutions (X : 1, 2 at%) to clarify the role of Al solute in the damping properties of Mg-Al binary solid solution. In order to rule out the effect of grain size on damping capacity, grain sizes of the samples were adjusted to an almost similar level by changing the heat-treatment or solution treatment times at 683 K (12 h, 24 h and 32 h for pure Mg, Mg-1%Al and Mg-2%Al alloys, respectively). The damping capacities of the heat-treated pure Mg and Mg-X%Al solid solutions exhibited a decreasing tendency with an increase in Al concentration both in the strain-amplitude dependent and strain-amplitude independent regions. The observed damping trends depending on strain-amplitude were analyzed and discussed in association with decreasing length between weak pinning points (Al solutes) in Granato-Lücke model.

Socio-Economic Factors Affecting the Health and Nutritional Status of the Aged (노인의 건강과 영양상태에 영향을 미치는 사회경제적 요인분석)

  • Various kinds of living circumstances are making population structure of Korean changed. That is, number of the children is decreased and that of the aged is increased. It is predicted that population of the children and the aged will be almost same until 2020. With above, as the expectation of the aged on healthy living might be increased, some special programs for the aged will be needed strongly. At this point, Korean aged population might be economically poor, comparing with other generation. In general, economic factor affects the subjective living-satisfaction and health status of them. Moreover, educational status, household shape and family tieing also affect their health status. According to the foreign articles, health status of the aged might be related to income, educational status, job, employed or/not, marital status, family structure, sex, and childhood condition. decrease of the income or unemployment could make the death rate of the aged higher. During childhood, discordance among the family might affect their health status after. IGUR is also important factor to affect the adulthood health. Positive life style of the aged would lessen their unequality of the health among them. Nutritional status of the Korean aged population might be indicated under the nutritional recommendation. 심부시추공 지하수의 심도별 지화학 특성

  • 대전 북부 화강암지역 내 심도 500m까지 굴착한 시추공에 다중패커 시스템(Multi-packer system)을 이용하여 구간별로 지하수 시료채취를 수행하고, 시추공 지하수에 대한 지화학 특성 연구를 수행하였다. 다중패커 시스템에 의해 구간별로 격리된 시추공 지하수의 수리화학자료는 구간별로 특징적인 화학조성을 나타낸다 다중패커 시스탬이 설치된 직후 채취한 지하수 시료와 일정시간이 경과한 후 채취한 시료간에는 시기별로 화학특성의 차이를 보이는데 이는 시추당시 사용된 시추수의 영향 때문인 것으로 사료된다. 또한 심도 115m를 기준으로 상부구간과 하부구간에 지화학 특성에서 큰 차이를 보이고 있는데 이는 시추공 굴착당시 단열대의 붕괴로 인해 시공된 그라우팅의 영향 때문이다. 이상치를 보이는 115m 구간을 제외하고, 시추공 지하수의 지화학 자료는 구간별로 명확히 구별되어 화강암 지역에서 지하수의 유동은 단열분포특성에 영향을 받음이 확인되었다.
